There have been some recent developments that you may have noticed. We value our Cryptid contributors, but would like the keys to the Morning Links Control Room back. Please. Oh, and maybe a “Sorry for throwing you 40 feet across the room” card for Swiss? He seems to be recovering.
So…. while we try to resolve the Morning Links Situation – the site must go on.
Coming up this Week
Tuesday 1100 – a substantial economics article on The Great Decoupling by Rasilio. (Economics, not prying a SMITH off someone!)
Wednesday 1100 – The Hat and The Hair. ’nuff said!
Wednesday 1900 – flying poodle teaches us about growing fruit. (Growing, not ‘ow to defend yourself against fresh fruit.)
Thursday 1100 – UCS has an article that discusses Value. We appear to be stirring it up, huh?
Friday 1100 and 1900 – We will leave you in suspense. Because we are that guy/staff.

Whelp, Tucker came out swinging tonight.
Please, tell us more. I’m on an aeroplane so can’t see what’s going on.
Was it about the “Trump’s not worth impeaching”?
I’d guess it’s about the people attacking him.
Fly jetBlue and watch even more cable channels than you can get at home.
Nope. About Twitter mobs and lefty’s trying to squelch dissenting viewpoints.
Ripping Team Red for being the Washington Generals.
The Democrats are no Harlem Globetrotters.
I’ll have to catch up on that later. I don’t watch his show often, but when I do, it’s been entertaining.
Here’s the video.
https://video.foxnews.com/v/6012802083001/#sp=show-clips
If I’m watching the relevant clip, he doesn’t even mention the things the left is attacking him on. He just ducks the swing and comes in over the top. Effective counter punch.
I just watched the clip. He doesn’t address whatever charges they are making against him – and I see that as his point; the charges are bogus, as is the blame game being played by the left with the full cooperation of the right as well.
This will blow over. No way team red elites will turn on Tucker. Tucker, Rush, Hannity have way too much clout with the base to get silenced. Teenage boys in MAGA hats are a different story.
Yeah, at this point he’s basically a landmark on the political landscape. Nothing short of a major catastrophe will remove him.
Anyone remember Bill O’Reilly?
To his credit, he’s still around-just not on a Fox show.
As Sir Digby says, he’s still out there chasing women with his dildo,
Hey, I’m not gonna down a guy just ’causehe fucks…
I was laughing even as I clicked the link, anticipating what it was.
Slumbrew and Sir Digby confirm this is an echo chamber, so NOW THIS.
Sloppy seconds!
Facebook Bans Zero Hedge
That more than a ban.
They were unpersoned. Same thing has happened to Tommy Robinson.
Its like living in a Harry Potter world.
Facebook is a shit platform run by a shit person that’s frequented by shitheads (except for the people here who frequent FB, y’all are alright).
I feel vindicated that I had the sense to never engage with that cesspool.
^^^THIS!!!
Same here. Never even created an account.
What malfunction do you have to have to believe that random people care about your everyday happenings, and to care about random others’ regular everyday bowel movements. If someone is important to you, you call or text or email them about your life; you don’t put it out there for every moron to see (yeah, I’m sure the “private” mode is private – it’s on the fucking internet!)
I made a fake account years ago and never posted to it. Somehow I got banned but I didn’t take it personal because it wasn’t really me. I still get emails going to my trash file begging me to come back even though they banned me. It’s no loss though, they seem to be a slowly dying platform.
Fourth.
Facebook is 50% people posting pictures of their kids for the out of town relatives, 25% people posting “look at me!”, 10% ads for scams, 10% people talking about their hobbies, and 5% people posting idiotic political/social crap that is in turn 90% BS.
I’m of the 50%, I just have it so I can see pics my mom and sister post of the family and the kiddos as well as keep an avenue for my sister to message me (she is sadly not tech savvy and doesn’t like emailing me).
I’ve decided to start a new FB account. I’m only inviting Japanese people because they avoid politics like the plague. My woke nieces, nephews and sisters were unbelievably nasty on some of my posts. It’s considered shameful for everyone involved if you are involved in a public spat in Japan. Basic decency FTW.
I definitely prefer how the Japanese handle those situations. It’s been refreshing and I’ll definitely miss the politeness/basic decency culture among other things.
Koichi Toyama begs to differ.
Exception proves the rule.
I’m only inviting Japanese people because they avoid politics like the plague.
The Chinese as well. The not-yet-wife-unit’s feed is delightfully devoid of all things political. She doesn’t understand why I have a filthy scrum of screaming, deranged weenies in my feed.
“Arts people.”
One aspect of the social media universe which confounds me is how things totally unrelated (for my purposes) like a running app are designed to be linked to your social media account. I had been using Runkeeper for a while – and it always prodded me to post the results from my last run to social media. Most of my relatives are grossly overweight and have about as much interest in how much I run as they would be interested in how much wax my ears produce. And the feeling is mutual about sharing my information. I have zero fux to give about telling them anything that personal.
Luckily, a buddy gave me a MOOV as a gift and the software for that device is social-media-agnostic.
From the comments:
“You mean, the Jews are in for the fight of their lives and on the run as the Satanic Judaic is burned down from the World Stage for all time. 2019 is when it all happens. Facebook cannot ban the comment section of Zero Hedge. Facebook is a Jewish psyop and this punk Zucker marrying into China is typical Jewish skulduggery. HE NEVER CREATED ANYTHING. THE *** OWNED CIA STOLE IT IN A HARVARD RUN ZOO MANEUVER. YOU KNOW, THE SAME PLACE WHERE THEY HAVE THOSE UGLY JEWISH PROFESSORS TALKING ABOUT HOW THEY ARE GOING TO WIPE OUT THE WHITE RACE. AND YES, THAT’S RIGHT, A WHITE MAN CREATED FACEBOOK, OF IRISH ORIGIN. In my twenty five year confrontation with the Satanic Judaic, I have gotten all the way down to the solution to their supremacy psychosis. As our long struggle has played out, you’ve seen it in countless faction movies, such as the Matrix Trilogy. Now you are about to know that “red pilling” was based upon what was going doing down in real life.
For those of you not yet aware of the real news, you could go to these two links below to rapidly catch up to what has happened without you being privy to it.
Finally, this has been the 25 year process of standing up to the Satanic Judaic to eventually remove the black cult from the World Stage starting in 2019. All along I knew I was up against elite Jews, and Gentiles. But after being blocked on Caravan to Midnight in 2019, and with a few clues from John B Wells, and with several decades of intense experience under my belt, I was able to get to the very bottom of things. Now it will be put into a package to eliminate the Satanic Judaic from the World Stage beginning in 2019. You see, good people go into things giving the Jews the benefit of the doubt and welcoming them with open arms. I was the same. And there are MANY good and great Jewish people. However, in the main, when you get to the bottom of the real picture of what they are about, what they have done—the conclusion is clear: THEY HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE WORLD STAGE POSTHASTE. And this is what is underway with the final package, a literary work entitled, E = F.
http://www.21stcenturyworldmessage.com/Why_E-F_Had_To_Be_Written.html
http://www.21stcenturyworldmessage.com/The_Little_Country_Church_of_Hollywood.html“
Yep, ZH is so anticensorship they don’t even ban the obviously insane.
Read it as toothpaste at first, and it didn’t seem any nuttier
THEY HAVE TO BE REMOVED FROM THE WORLD STAGE POSTHASTE
Huh, so it’s it Hihn’s over at zerohedge now?
BTW, Dr. Chet, since you’re on right now:
What would be the challengers for doctors and consequences for normal people of making emergency rooms “autism-friendly”?
I would have thought ERs are busy enough and loud enough that you can’t really overlook everybody else’s needs just to cater to somebody with autism.
Yes, that’s a strange one.
We’ve advocated for there to be alternatives to ERs or dedicated wings in ERs that are more calming and healing for patients with psychiatric emergencies, but this is the first time I’ve ever heard about the idea specifically targeting autistic individuals.
There are so many other afflictions that can benefit from a less-disruptive ER settings that a special area might make sense in busy sites with extra room, but demanding it specifically for autistic patients just seems like pandering.
“demanding it specifically for autistic patients just seems like pandering.”
That was my first thought.
The Assemblyman in question has an autistic son, and seems to be a single-issue legislator focusing solely on the platform of forcing everybody else to change how they do think to make life easier for his autistic kid. And of course the local news media lap it up (especially since his district is in the viewing area).
That’s why I immediately took a dim view of the idea.
“…can benefit from a less-disruptive ER settings..”
I thought that’s what thorazine was for.
But the more open you make it the more people will simply opt for the “calm, mellow ER” as opposed to the “hectic, madcap ER”. Unless you have some kind of specific method for separating the people who really need it you’ll wind up with the same deal you have with companion animals or “medical” marijuana*.
*I have zippy problems with people buying weed, and if you’ve got to get a prescription and your line is “I get stressed out sometimes” and that works, fine by me. You shouldn’t need a scrip in the first place as far as I’m concerned.
Room assignments in ERs are made by the Triage Nurse. Most ERs already have specific rooms for behavioral health patients, typically for reasons of safety and observation. Making these rooms a bit more calming would not be a big change.
They have quiet ways of dealing with difficult patients.
After an operation for a badly broken leg one of my wife’s nurses told her she was actually a very nice patient and not combative at all. My wife goes “Huh?”
She’d been transferred from another hospital in a green gown. Green was the second hospital’s code for “Asshole patient”.
The typical behavioral health unit in an ER generally has some seriously disturbed people in it. Maybe not a good environment for autistic people.
My sole ER experience as a patient was waiting in the exam room for stitches after a car accident (and waiting several hours in the lobby) long enough that the local anesthetic wore off and watching a barefoot guy in a gown run down the hallway trailing shit being pursued by security.
Chet? I thought he was a “Chad”.
At least you didn’t think it was CHUD.
A totally under-rated movie.
Agreed
At least he didn’t call you a she.
Ah, high school. I think I saw it at the drive-in, actually.

Wrap up a productive day of tits with Mammary Monday’s final installment.
http://archive.li/pCR7v
So no Mammary Monday next week?
I’m sure Swiss will be thrilled.
SHWING!
Excellent!
Need a ruling. Is she Asian?
https://archive.li/pCR7v/dfb985e8f794eb3825c0ece74734914b982d810c
I need to see her naked.
Not to judge her ethnicity, just because.
If you have to ask the answer is always no.
No.
She looks hapa.
We only have twelve years left to live #2,456
Went to the supermarket this morning and they had their Easter stuff out (+1 marshmallow Peeps).
It was +5 F with a foot and a half of snow still on the ground.
At least is was above zero and the sun was shining for a change. Because of DST I guess.
My Fiesta is still high centered on the snow by the curb in front of our house.
I was in Target on Saturday and couldn’t find sweatshirts. They had shorts and swim trunks out, however.
It is so odd that people abandoned brick and mortar retail in droves once Amazon gave them an alternative.
Yup.
I don’t understand this method of stocking stores. It always makes me wonder if their main offices are in the south. There is like 5 more months until the lakes melt and you can use swimwear.
You don’t want to know what the foercasted high temp for Wednesday/Orlando is. I’m going to have to turn on my AC.
I always just assumed they do it because 50 or 100 years ago the women did all the shopping and why change their ways now??
Okay, but even my wife (okay, who are we kidding, especially my wife) could lose her mittens mid way through winter and need a new pair.
I guess she could just put a bikini on her hands.
Regular ass clothes are downhill from fashion, which is always a season or more ahead.
In my long years of off-roading I have learned that your tires/suspension with take you through anything right up to the point that you touch the non-moving parts.
That’s what gets me about pickup these days. They’re all so jacked up so high you need a ladder to get at anything in the bed, but the bottom of the differential is the same distance off the ground that it’s always been.
Eggzactly.
Fiesta ST?
Yep. Love it.
Hit 50 in NYC today. I can’t remember the last time it hit mid 40s

No more Mammary Mondays? Well damn, we’ll have to make the most of it and go out with a bang!
2, 11, 19, 39, and 42. I’m torn between 23 or 34 as my favorite from this one. Thank you for all the bountiful harvests, Q.
Also, as a reward for your services, here are three 3 blessed Japanese women with huge tracts of land you should know: Anri Okita, Kaho Shibuya, and Shiori Tsukada.
My threading failed. I have dishonored my family. /commits seppuku
*ATTENTION*
Mammary Monday is not finished. When I said “final installment” I meant for today. Next week Mammary Monday will return as scheduled. Sorry Swiss.
Swiss would appreciate a quiet, orderly, Mannerly Monday.
Männlicher Montag?
Naturlich!
Phew, I thought I was living in the worst timeline for a second there.
In the worst timeline it’s just another manic Monday.
Fun fact- written by Prince
Under the name “Christopher”.
Monday: Best of Mammaries
Phew. I can put down the gun.
“This is my rifle, this is my gun,….”
I don’t mind being middleman for renters, but fer chrissake, what does it net you lying about whether you’re going to turn up? That extra forty-five minutes I wait around to see whether you show up isn’t buying you any time before the eviction.
You’re too nice.
It’s not often that a Glib gets accused of that.
Good point. Guess we globally found the FBI informant.
Finally, globally, whatever.
It’s more the favor I’m doing dad by making myself available. But I’d have been just as happy meeting him here after running to the store as I would have when he said he’d turn up.
In January my brother’s renter just ghosted me at the door, after telling him they had rent ready for pick up. What’s the point of that? Why rope me into coming around if you haven’t got the cash? The clock on the eviction notice started ticking on the first, it’s not like lying to him and inconveniencing me bought you any time.
Waiting around a long time, doing favors, yeah, you’re no glib. 😉
Both of my properties are over 100 miles away and in a different area code. The best thing that I ever did was hire a manager who lived in the area.
^^This.
Someone who actually knows what they’re doing is better at dealing with those kinds of ass-holes, too.
*thinks of property managers he has dealt with, cringes.
I hope your properties are being better managed than most I see.
Yeah, I have a wonderful manager. I’ve lost track but I think that one of my properties has been rented to the same couple for ten years.
Also, I will not raise the rent on an existing renter.
Sign me the hell up for that.
(My previous landlord raised the rent $10 a year. Current one: $100 a year. All of which is going to cover the reduced rents on old people.)
For real, I would give about 15 minutes maximum unless I get a phone call explanation.
Tenants lie. In other news so do politicians.
I used to think landlords sucked until I became one myself. Tenants suck too.
I totally savored the day when I went into a real estate company’s office here in Japan to sign agreements for them to handle our rental property. I remember back to a time when real estate agents would brush me off, without a word, as I was walking through the door to their office – because I’m not Japanese. Now they work for me.
Just because…
*adds Alex to extensive list of people who I shouldn’t click their links*
Sadly, I didn’t believe you.
I’ve got an ethical dilemma of sorts that I hope my fellow Glibs can help me navigate through. I have an idea for an article or two compiling some musings on the nature of intellect and how it shapes individual politics and biases, but the inspiration for it comes from my dealings over the years with a family member related to me by marriage. To put it bluntly, I don’t have a way to approach this topic in a respectful way that won’t make this person look hopelessly stupid. The subject would be made completely anonymous, of course, but I still can’t get past the nagging aphorism about not having anything nice to say. What say you, Glibs? Should I pass on this one, or should I see just how much I can make my black heart shrivel even further?
Can you make your point without the anecdote?
I gave that some thought, but it doesn’t seem possible. The anecdote essentially sets up the observations.
What you don’t know won’t hurt you.
(I assume the retard relation doesn’t know about this place.)
Name the son of a bitch so we can launch a twitter attack on them. Or just fudge some details so you protect their anonymity. I ready either way. *Polishes brass knuckles*
If you fictionalize it, and just base your foil on them, you aren’t really saying anything nasty about them. Or you can go the other way and honestly report with quotes. I vacillate between wanting to ‘be the better person” and “screw civility these people would have me in a camp if they had their way.” (better person usually only comes out on top in retrospect, when I regret what I say on the screw civility side)
“family member related to me by marriage.”
Sorry to have to tell you, Michael, but as always, Zardoz has the correct advice. The family member will have to be cleansed.
Write it. I’m going to guess you won’t think any less of the guy (gal?), and who knows, maybe airing out your disagreement will let you… think.. not so less of him.
“guy (gal?)”
There’s the key. When I have told anecdotes as fables to learn from, I have occasionally switched genders up so that if word ever got back to the offender, they’d never recognize themselves.
“…nagging aphorism about not having anything nice to say. …
” Well, I don’t see a problem as long as your name isn’t Thumper.
Re: the lever action article earlier. I’ve heard that when the People were exterminating Custer’s detachment in 1876, they were better armed than the 7th’s troopers. Wasn’t there a story about twenty years ago, after a big grass fire at Little Big Horn, that researchers found old ammo that came from single shot carbines and evidence that “moldy” old Civil War ammo had jammed many of the troopers’ rifles? Custer certainly knew of and admired Winchesters, so why let his guys go out with antiquated arms? And I’ve heard he left his Gatling guns behind too.
Unpossible. The Injuns were not allowed to have guns or firewater. So of course, they didn’t have any. Because prohibition has always worked, since the beginning of time. I mean… it’s going to work ‘this time’, because reasons.
Well, Custer wasn’t exactly the most brilliant strategist.
Wasn’t he the “goat” of West Point (came in last in his class)? He proved that pretty well.
Too bad McClellan didn’t have Custer’s aggressiveness and courage.
Yeah, McClellan was a good general if the idea was to hold ground. For pretty much anything else, he was a waste of space.
McClellan was considered a military genius prior to the civil war.
The fact that he botched ops so badly and then ran for President against Lincoln means he likely did it on purpose.
He performed very well in the Civil War. He was aggressive, and that probably killed his command at Little Big Horn, but aggressiveness is not usually a flaw in a cavalry commander. He made a serious error in judgement dividing his command, because he apparently thought the Indians would scatter when he arrived. Sometimes balls to the leather wins, sometimes there are just too many Indians…
Admittedly, that’s true about his Civil War service. But it’s one thing to lead a cavalry unit when you’re part of an army that has divisions of infantry backing you, versus being a stand-alone unit. Not getting the difference is a failure as a commander.
^^This.
Same tactics, but different situations.
Obviously in hindsight his actions were foolish, but I have a hard time condemning him on that basis. The Sioux had historically been all bark and no bite, as were most of the tribes. They were raiders, not stand up fighters. A few warriors would ride out and burn a few farms; the cavalry would show up and they would head for the hills. This is a big part of what led to some of the atrocities, the cavalry would see butchered civilians, and never get a real stand up fight because the warriors would hit and run.
It is easy to see that Little Big Horn was different from our vantage point, but when the 7th rode over that ridge and saw the tents it wasn’t insanity to think he could ride in and scoop up all the women and children, and end the war right there.
He made a serious error and it wiped out half a regiment and killed him.
I still disagree, but the replies here have convinced me to read up more on the history before ever attempting to speak with anything like authority on the subject.
I will always have an issue with a military commander attacking a force… what… 10-20 X (?) his own, especially since he possessed no real technological advantage. But again, I’ll go read some more.
Oh, I am not saying you shouldn’t disagree. I just think we armchair historians are sometimes too harsh in our judgments. To me there is a difference between a commander having one really bad day or making a really bad error, and the bloody butchers that treat their men as toy soldiers.
Custer screwed up, but he rode over that ridge with his men and put his own blood on the line when he made his gamble. The ones I really despise are men like Haig and Foch sending another few hundred thousand into the meat grinder on the off chance that this time they will break the line.
My understanding was that he left the Galling Guns behind for mobility.
Each weighed about 600 lbs. assembled but disassembled could have been carried in the pack train Custer took with him. The pack train was always miles behind but it was instrumental in allowing Major Reno’s battalion to survive days of Indian attacks.
Custer’s troops were armed with trapdoor Springfields – not Civil war relics. They were using fixed ammo in brass cases – but those are manually loaded, single shot rifles so much slower to reload than a lever action Henry or Winchester.
A lot more power and range, but much slower to shoot.
If the difference in headcount was correct (something like 5,000 locals vs. 276 Troopers) I doubt they would have had enough ammo to deploy and fire through the handful of Gatlings they had left behind – had they brought them. It would have held them off for a while until either malfunctions, jams, or simply not getting the ammo loaded on the guns fast enough would have led to being overrun.
I doubt the Indians would have pressed home their attacks through that level of casualties. The were raiders and warriors, and it generally takes disciplined soldiers to keep going through heavy casualties. The one ‘tribal’ group that had that discipline were the Zulu; which is why they gave the Boers and later the British fits.
“Go stand in front of Rourke’s Drift and jump up and down. I need to count their guns.”
There’s a great movie short on Little Bighorn and how Custer held back Felix Vinatieri and his Army marching band from the battle.
And yes, Felix was the ancestor of NFL record holding kicker Adam Vinatieri
15 mins long.
https://vimeo.com/16321576
Does make me wonder if Custer knew it was suicide.
RLM’s Milwaukee advertisement for the DNC is some of their best work in awhile.
Good lord, Brie Larson’s hugely inflammatory speech bemoaning white male movie critics… sounds more like a stodgy recitation of Soviet grain quota figures. That’s what lit the internet up? I hope Disney paid her well, it sounds like that dumb, dry stunt did more for their movie than their big pricey movie could.
Not only conservative, but also patriarchal!

You know, it’s very convenient of Twitter to throw a pop-up in my face every time I scroll down a few inches. It lets me know when to stop reading Twitter.
Twitter, Pinterest and the Washington Post “Oh you want to see this? Create an account and enjoy” Me, “Oh I need an account to see this? Bye”
Yeah, it started after I ditched my Twitter account.
That hurt my noggin.
I’m enjoying the outrage. I’d bet that millions of people see this mob descending on Tucker for saying some edgy jokes and think, “I’ve said worse.” There isn’t a set of links on this fine site where much worse has been said.
*hasn’t been said.
Lord help any of those normies if they ever found out about our resident Cryptids.
We joke about how out of mainstream the humor here is, but is it really? Compared to other cliques on the net, maybe we’re above average on the shitlord scale. 4 chan, Reddit, Zerohedge etc make us look like Victorian gentlemen.

If you’re thinking of Colonel Gentleman, agreed.
JFC I love The Venture Brothers.
LOL – I really need to catch up on that show.

Jack the Ripper?
I sometimes dip my toe in shitlord stuff, and no, I don’t think anyone here is as quick on the “gas the Jews” button as those cretins.
Gas the cretins.
Truth be told, I’m rather fond of the Jews.
I’m rather fond of the Jews.
They’re quite a gas.

I’ve gotten a lot of good prepping tips off ZH, but the commenters’ incessant Jew hate made me a little ill. Finally, I stopped reading ZH because I found myself living in constant fear of the zombie apocalypse and making stupid decisions because of it.
ZH prepping tips. Joo Gone.
Darn. Anyways, I always hear Joo Gone when I watch this.

The only ZH I read is whatever you ingrates here link. Plus I avoid comments like the plague on any site.
/how I survive the internet
I thought the first rule of the Internet was “don’t read the comments”.
Except for here, of course – it’s crazy cuckoo-land here, where the first rule is apparently “only read the comments”
The best tips were in the comments.
Are we not doing phrasing anymore?
Indeed, heck I even browse /pol/ from time to time. Partly because I like seeing deranged people/threads and to help appreciate how nice we have it here.
My condolences
I committed a hacking faux pas/crime yesterday mostly out of necessity. I’m mostly ok with it but I’m not used to cheating, how concerned should I be? Daycare website would only accept Discover cards. Who even has a Discover ? Flipped a Boolean in the site script and the transaction went through, so apparently it was just a client-side thing. On the one hand, I’m tampering with data. On the other hand, their system sucks and their policies aren’t enforced at a level that indicates serious. Where does this fall in libertarian ethics?
You actually paid? Just tampered to get them to take your card? And it went through? Assuming they actually got their money I’d say morally you are fine, legally probably not.
^^^ This.
You paid them. They’ll get their money.
Yeah, it went through, I checked. I actually thought it was an error on their site (only accepting Discover) so I started poking at it. I guess I’m actually not ok with it after a further half hour reflection, it’s their company, they can get paid (or not) the way they want. I felt kinda clever, now just dirty. Fail.
I believe that Discover might have the lowest merchant fee of all credit cards. Visa/Mastercard might have a similar rate for a “Classic” card but nobody has those. People have Platinum/Signature/Infinite Visa cards in their wallets. And for those cards the merchant fee is higher than advertised by many credit card processors. Discover doesn’t have “premium” cards, so their advertised rate is what the merchant will pay. American Express charges a premium merchant fee on all their cards and that’s well known.
Probably the daycare tried to steer people to use the cheapest credit card for them to process.
Yeah, I’m pretty used to my Amex – which is my preferred card for the cash-back – getting refused, but mostly only at liquor stores, which here in NY(C) are – by law – mom’n’pop only.
I don’t get ‘cash back’, why is that preferable to a lower rate?
I don’t carry a balance on any of my cards.
Amex, at least, usually have no “rate” – they’re charge cards, due in full each month.
And what Rhywun wrote – even if they’re true credit cards, cash back is good if you’re paying them off every month.
So is the ‘cash back’ more than the charge+interest?
Slum,
My Amex is an actual credit-card (not their usual charge card). I never had one until they introduced this version a few years ago.
CPRM,
There are no fees on this card. I will never, ever again carry a balance (knock on wood) so the cash back is just free money for me.
So is the ‘cash back’ more than the charge+interest?
It sure can be – if you pay in full every month, you’re not paying interest charges. If there’s no annual fee, the cash back is for sure a win vs. just paying cash at that point.
If there’s an annual fee, that’s the break-even point – will you spend enough on the card to get more cash-back than the fee?
There are usually other benefits, too, which complicates the equation, a little bit; I jumped up to a more expensive Amex last year, because we had a couple trips planned – the card includes $X/yr. in airline credits, airport lounge access, monthly Uber credits, hotel credits, car rental benefits, etc. I more than got my annual fee back in those “extras”.
If we’re not going to travel as much this year, I might drop back down, though I think there’s already a fair amount planned.
Yeah, I haven’t played around with points or anything like that. I don’t travel much so there’s no point. This card was ideal for me because it’s just straight cash back and no fees – dead-simple to deal with.
Ok, I didn’t know that was an option. My relatives are always asking about cashback and other things on actual credit cards, and it makes no sense to me. You get $.20 cashback for gas on a card that charges 15% APR. Not really a deal. I haven’t had a credit card in almost 20 years, so I don’t know what all the options are these days.
CPRM, I assume they’re offered because they assume people just think about “cash back” and not the often staggering interest rates, or they’re hoping for people who think “yes, the rate is high but I’ll pay it off every month” but then don’t.
My parents were, essentially, hand to mouth and knew how to stretch a dollar. That stuck with me even longer than strictly necessary but I’m still loath to buy anything I couldn’t pay cash for. The card is just a convenience. I still carry cash and use it daily.
I maxed out one CC in college and almost defaulted on it. Eventually the creditors let me settle for pennies on the dollar, bless their hearts. After that I vowed never again. What a PITA.
Daycare website would only accept Discover cards.
?? Does the carwash only wash AMCs?
What a weird restriction.
Especially in today’s market. Credit card processors are pretty much accessible to anyone who can sign up on the internet. Square…Clover…etc
I’d be worried about giving them my credit card info if it was programmed like that.
But I’m curious if it’s explicit that they only take Discover or if they just had an error.
Look at this comment on the (((Jews))):
“(((their))) idea of (God) and his attributes…degrading and injurious. (((Their))) Ethics were not only imperfect, but often irreconcilable with the sound dictates of reason and morality…repulsive and anti-social as respecting other nations.”
This dude sounds anti-semitic as all shit. What are we do do with him?
Spent the last couple hours playing with tinfoil like a five year old. I have an idea, but no crafting skills, that’s the way it is.
it’s too malleable to make good cockring.
I mean, so I’ve heard.
You need steel balls to make a cock ring.
I thought was a Prince Albert
Pretty, pretty cock rings
(well, now _that_ is in my browsing history)
Not normally a user of such things, but the Thulsa Doom cult symbol cock rings they’re selling is pretty cool. €220 is a bit steep.
I am shocked. Seriously. Because it’s you, I expected a play on words. You went all HM on me. I need a drink.
That’s why I’m starting a thing? meme? whatever. Every time I respond to Mojo Momo from now on, I’m ending it with ‘cock rings’.
It’s a shame it’s just “Mojeaux” , otherwise it’d become “Mojeaux ‘Cock Rings’ Smith”.
Something something STEVE SMITH
You… you’ve seen her books, right?
No. Did KC cock rings write the table book of cock rings?
KC Cock Rings?
Has a nice ring to it.
If you can draw, maybe find an online 3D printing place that will mock up your idea. They are cheap and springing up like mushrooms.
my disposable income is like $20 a week. Takes money to make money.
After the beer and vape juice anyway…
And ‘if I can draw’? You know I can’t I make Hat ‘n’ Hair Cartoons through tricknology! (true story)
What are you making? A new hat?
Oh, here comes the White Man trying to steal my idea!
Hey Trash – Eyepiece request:
Can you add a few pixels between the buttons and the content? I think you have them glued together somehow & it’s bugging me for some reason I can’t understand. My CSS-fu isn’t strong enough to figure out how to override it myself. Thx

NSFW.
¡Ay, caramba!
These one offs are getting better.
In case you missed it, Razorfist is out there making the case that Michael was by no means a pedo. Gotta admit that I never followed the case closely and just assumed he was guilty. Still don’t know, but if he wasn’t, boy did he get screwed. *Narrows gaze*
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6pnoQqlygQs
If he wasn’t a pedo, he was right fucked in the head. ‘What difference, at this point, does it make.’
His kids don’t deserve to have their dad forever known as a pedo if he wasn’t. I’m watching with an open mind cuz I got no dog in the fight.
Meh, like I said, he was fucked in the head either way, and them kids are fucked up for life already. I don’t really give a shit either way.
If he was a pedo, I blame Joe Jackson for fucking up his kid that badly. If he wasn’t a pedo, I blame Joe Jackson for fucking up his kid that badly.
In this ONE instnace, I think the father is the root cause of it all. I don’t think MJ had the mental/emotional capacity to make one decision for himself (except “I want X.”). He was stuck at age 11 and never grew up.
Joe was a monster.
That brings up a question I struggle with in regards to justice. If someone is so sick they truly can never be reformed, at what point are we to deal with that? If someone is a bloodthirsty monster, or so mentally incompetent they can not be trusted to be released back into society, how do we make that distinction? Also, cock rings.
Having heard about Carl Panzram, I also struggle – his childhood was horrid – beaten, gang raped by hobos – but he was a legit monster (if you believe his own words) and the world is better off without him.
“Yes, hurry it up, you Hoosier bastard! I could kill a dozen men while you’re screwing around!”
Making your last words count.
For making last words count my vote is for Gary Gilmore – to quote “Just do it” (yes, that’s where it came from)
That’s also why I struggle with ‘insanity pleas’. So, you’re saying you are too crazy to no right from wrong, and that means you should get a lighter sentence? That math doesn’t add up for me. If you’re too damaged to be fixed, why should we try to fix you? It might seem harsh, but how many people we gonna let Lenny kill before we do what George did? (I hate referring to that pablum, but that’s at least a reference people will get) (and no, I’m not on the socialist side of killing people because they aren’t ‘desirable’, but why is being ‘unfix-able’ a defense?
The one thing that I thought I was sure of was that MJ admitted he slept in the same bed with kids. Turns out he said “in the same room” and that room was twice as big as my condo. How much more was I wrong about? It’s interesting to me.
If he has a text version of his argument, I’ll read it. Otherwise, meh.
He references Aphrodite Jones in the video. Here’s a link to some of her work on MJ.
https://www.google.co.jp/amp/s/vindicatemj.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/aphrodite-jones-vehement-defense-of-michael-jackson-in-2010/amp/
When internet porn started I thought amp was an epic porn star, turns out it’s just short for ampersand.
On second thought, I really DGAF. Appreciate the link, though! Maybe when I have really nothing to do I’ll read it.
Was he or wasn’t he? I’ve gone back and forth on that question. There is a great deal of suspicion, if he wasn’t I’d be surprised. He had a number of inappropriate relationships with pre teen boys. But unfortunately we will never know. His (early) music is still great , but MJ himself has a bad taint.
Did he make you touch his taint? If so, I can get you big bucks.
I am a male model, not a male prostitute!
+1 Cabin Boy, also, it’s the End of the World.
I’m no where near being informed enough to make an opinion on his guilt or innocence despite being in my twenties when the stories started surfacing. Were the allegations just gold digging? Could be. Did the media misrepresent what happened in court? Definitely.
Yeah, RF makes a very blistering case against the accusers and everyone that jumped on that wagon.
Mari-Mac.
The Aussie Gran Prix starts the F1 season again this Sunday, looking forward to it. Ricciardo is on a new team and Verstaapen stays with Red Bull.
Who is in charge of making sure Ivan Vanko doesn’t get on the track?
8 degrees and raining quite a change from the 24 over the weekend but the temps hopefully will not go bellow freezing this year.
Good morning glibs.
Off course no on here is around due to the hour. It used to be yesterday there when I got into work but I see from the time stamps it is today now.
Suck it, foreign boy! There’s no room for you in Trump’s Amerikkka!
Queen AOC will welcome me with open arms I just needs wait a few years
There are a few of us out east of you. But, yeah, the crowd has thinned out.
I would not want to be accused of postcolonial Orientalism
Only because you easterners are such slow
postersdrivers.My cue to exit
No one???
/Chopped liver, again. ::sigh::
*Decides to pass out because it’s only filthy furners left*
I go light on the booze and turn in reasonably early, so of course I’m wide awake almost five hours later.
Have a shot and try to go back to sleep.
Temperance has the opposite effect for me. When I go w/o, its a monumental effort to get out of bed.
