Previously, I wrote up a rant related to Joe Rogan’s interview with Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey. It got a lot of bad reviews because Joe didn’t ask any tough questions, other than an underhanded attempt at advocating President Trump be banned from Twitter….because apparently he might start a nuclear war with a Tweet. This rant resulted in my calling Rogan a bitch, and Dorsey full of shit.
Continuing my self imposed beer ban…meh. Screw it. I might need a drink if I have to listen to Dorsey again… This is my review of High West Doube Rye.
To give credit where credit is due, Joe took a lot of flack for that podcast. The majority of his audience is probably right-leaning even if he insists he is a lefty. They let him know. He admitted he didn’t know a lot about Twitter’s rules, the controversy surrounding Twitter, and the few instances he did ask Jack direct questions, Jack didn’t have much of an answer. They agreed to have another podcast, one where Jack brought somebody familiar with the process of banning and specific circumstances leading to the bans: Vijaya Gadde, Global Lead for Legal, Policy, and Trust & Safety at Twitter.
Joe on the other hand, brought on former Vice reporter, YouTuber, and beanie enthusiast, Tim Pool.
I will link it here if you have not seen it and would like to. Otherwise, here are a few notes I thought might be of interest to this group to skip around. All times are approximate since some of us have to work (Rufus).
2:50 Joe asks about Dr. Sean Baker—an advocate of the carnivore diet that had his Twitter account locked, recently.
– Vijaya assumed it was an algorithm, related to the banner being a lion eating a carcass.
– Making fun vs. targeting. Pool suggests the “mob” understands the system, its flaws, and consequently uses it against ideological enemies.
9:10 “Do you really want corporations to police whats true?” “But you guys do that…”
– Pool cites dead-naming and mis-gendering (again at 40:00) as explicit bias against conservatives in Twitter policies.
– Rule is against hateful targeting.
– “You say its about behavior, but I have a number of examples….”
16:30 “All the burden is placed on the victim.”
18:10 WOODCHIPPER!
20:20 Tim brings up Milo…
– “You have a verified user that called for the death of another user…”
– “That’s your impression, that’s not what happened.”
25:40 Chuck Johnson
– “I can understand why you feel that way, I don’t think that’s true.”
30:39 “We don’t have any PR constraints…”
– “So why did you ban Alex Jones?”
– Joe has a response from Jones ready.
1:00:00 “Shouldn’t you guarantee free speech as consistent with US Law?”
– “You do not allow “hate speech”, so free speech is not on your platform.”
– The next 15 mins is excellent and leads into “Learn to Code.”
1:28:00 “Intersectional POV”
– “What does that mean?” (Twitter lady seriously asked that)
2:00:22 Discussion about Jacob Wahl, fake news, accounts created to disperse news that was misleading vs. Twitter’s response to Rusian Botz 2016.
– “Did you investigate Jonathan Morgan?”
– “I don’t know who that is.” “Why?’
– Morgan created fake news, manipulated AL senate election with fake reports on Roy Moore.
– “…but…you investigated the conservative guy…’
TL/DR version: Pool was awesome. Not very often you get to see an actual journo, doing what a journo is actually supposed to do. So much so that another YouTube Channel called, Body Language Ghost did an analysis of an excerpt of the podcast, which I found interesting. In the end, Twitter insisted it wasn’t biased against conservatives, and Pool cited specific instances suggesting otherwise. As he put it, no single snowflake is responsible for an avalanche.
–Snob Alert– This whiskey is a blend. –Snob Alert–
That doesn’t make it bad. Its a blend of two ryes one that meets minimum requirements for rye (>50% rye) and another with a whopping 95% rye malts. I rather enjoy rye, and this one doesn’t disappoint. Though I should mention the first time I had it was in Salt Lake City, where local ordinances require ice.
Barr releasing top line conclusions as early as tonight. Sorry for the early OT but I don’t control when the new posts come up.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ag-barr-aims-to-release-mueller-report-top-line-conclusions-saturday-night-wont-parse-words-play-games
You know who else went off-topic early…
Mrs. Robinson?
Last night the Fox hosts were all excited that the Mueller report exonerated Trump et al. Not so much today’s NY Times, which said regardless of the report, the Russia investigation will always taint Trump’s legacy, and no doubt he was in cahoots with Russia, it just ‘didn’t rise to the level of indictments’.
They’re never going to stop believing, you know, no matter what the truth in their face shows. Hillary only lost because Trump and Putin colluded to get Americans to vote against their interests for someone who’s literally Hitler.
Fox was also hopeful that the issues about the Clinton campaign paying for the phony Steele dossier, which was used to obtain the FISA warrants and let the FBI wiretap/spy on Trump, could finally be addressed. No mention whatsoever of any of that in the Times, though. Instead, the Times did say that the indictments from the Mueller report were the most of any special counsel since Watergate (though 3/4 of those were just meaningless indictments of Russian spies living outside the US, who will never face extradition or trial here). And at the bottom of the story they were forced to admit that none of the indictments against US citizens had anything to do with Russia collusion — on a separate page, below the fold. But the actual illegal spying by the Obama administration against the Trump campaign, which is actually a very real echo of Watergate? Crickets.
Times and all other related media just can’t stop the narrative Orange Man Bad. Anything positive about him or clearing his name will be way down in paragraph 12, while reiterating the now-debunked charges are still the headline. Talk about burying the lede.
I’m waiting with bated breath to see how the experts at Cato work their way out of this one.
So what’s the 5 scale rating? How’s the sweetness?
Looks like they might have it at bowling alley up the street. Actually haven’t been to that bar for a long time. Will probably stop up there today and try a shot.
It’s at least as sweet as Winston’s Mom.
Well hopefully I’ll be having both today.
Its a bit sweet upfront and with ice. Otherwise the delightful rye spiciness steals the show.
Nice. That’s what I look for in a rye.
Dump Twitter, life goes on just fine without social media
Hello!
The only time I pull up twitter is when someone here links to it.

A Twitter link blocking feature is sitting in my mental feature list for Eyepiece. I wouldn’t have any Twitter exposure if not for blindly clicking links here.
Hello Yusef!
This site is the totality of my social media.
This may have already been covered here…
Missouri Senate Bans All Federal Gun Control Laws in Proposed Bill
If that article is accurate, that’s pretty awesome!
But…Supremacy Clause
LoL… tell that to Commiefornia.
It is unconstitutional for a State to refuse to enforce federal violations of the Constitution.
“…where local ordinances require ice.” Can you get it on the side? I’m not saying liquor laws are ridiculous, but…
2 shots in the same glass, no room for ice
… That’s a tiny glass.
Double Rye is a good whiskey at a reasonable price. I will happily drink it neat, or in a Manhattan.
Sounds good. I like ryes. I’ll look for it next time I go liquor shopping.
Went steak shopping this morning. https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/esrZgXDHTEynqsGftMvmbw.kbRIKCrv79I26Ud2b9h33U
2.25 lbs of steak goodness with protection. Gonna dry brine them over night and grill them up tomorrow.
Om nom nom.
Have you bought the Shadow 2 yet? It has spoiled me. I did a head to head with the M9 today and it took my ego down many notches.
Not yet. I think my gf might get one first. I’ve got other wants ahead of it, like the Legion 229 sao.
https://glibertarians.com/20190323_123714/
Left are with the CZ, the right with the Beretta. The lower right target is close up, the others are 10yd. Whatever is giving me grief with the M9 isn’t so bad at 3 yd, but at 10, I drop from a 93% hit rate to 22%
Trying different brands/weights?
I’m assuming it’s me needing to get more trigger time. The M9 has the stereotypical “breaks like a pane of glass” trigger, but it’s significantly stiffer than the CZ.
Had a double of that High West last night at dinner. Very delicious.
Automotive tragedy!
Just yesterday I spotted and photographed This blue car.
Today I passed by and found that It had been treed!
That’s a shame. Olds 442, I believe.
About a ’69 or so
Why’s he parked so far off the curb and so close to the stop sign?
For #1, the answer is “The snowbank recently melted” For #2 the answer is “There is so little parking that if you’re not jutting into the driving lane of the cross street, no one will do anything.
How did the chess pie turn out?
runny.
Here is a very good recipe for a chess variant that I am going to start playing around with as a basis for others. It uses both flour and Gram cracker crumbs/dust as stabilizers:
(note: recipe makes filling for two pies, blind-baking not required)
You will be baking @325. Pre-heat accordingly.
Cream together 4 eggs and 2.75 c sugar.
Add 2 t vanilla and 3T flour
Stir in 1.5 c buttermilk and 1.5 stick of butter which has been melted. Do not beat.
Fold in 0.5 c crushed graham crackers and 0.75 c finely chopped pecans.
Bake for 45 min.
I’m going to be visited by my Scotch faerie tonight. He brought Balvini last time.
I have a bottle of the best Japanese Scotch available in my small neck of the woods Toki by suntory.
It’s good for mixed drinks!
Scotch is not delivered by Faeries. It is delivered by feagles. Sharing is suggested
And some of them might even believe that. Because, sure, almost all of their censorship ends up happening against conservatives, but that’s because conservatism attracts bad people. That’s not Twitter’s fault!
Most likely what he means by conservative is a bit different than what I mean.
I don’t understand the big fuss. Twitter is a private platform they can make up whatever rules they want. If you don’t like them, don’t use their platform.
Tim Pool was being a dick during the interview, and tried to argue that Twitter was a “public” platform. Perhaps like a lunch counter.
An aside, the local mayor caught some backlash for blocking people on Twitter. I can see the argument there: if you’re a public employee communicating public information, you can’t block citizens’ access to that information, even on a private platform.
I wonder what other Glibs’ thoughts are on this.
My thought is simple – If they’re in the business of deciding what the content is, they are as liable as the content creator for libel. Either hands-off, or all-in.
Legally they can do what they want, but there’s nothing wrong with calling them out for politically biased censorship.
But if you do use it, it’s unconstitutional to block other users if you are a (Republican) POTUS.
He probably believes this. For all his earnestness and honesty, he still is a lefty high school dropout and it shows sometimes.
Because Twitter edits content, they are a publisher, not a platform. My guess is that’s where the Nunes lawsuit is going to head. If it can be established that these platforms are actually publishers, it opens them to legal liability for their actions.
What exactly constitutes ‘editing’ content? Is a No Dick Pics policy enough? What is the difference between that and No Commie/Conservative Crap policy? I’d prefer a very loose definition of a platform over a publisher. I also have issues with libel laws in general so I am not all that worked up about a platform or publisher being biased and picking sides.
If I’ve read it correctly, it’s not the policy, it’s the action taken. Someone with more smarts than I would need to hash it out.
People can criticize Twitter for being shit if they want. If you don’t like it, don’t engage in the conversation.
Didn’t the courts rule Trump can’t block people? By the same logic, the mayor can’t.
If you’re using it in your capacity as a government official absolutely you can’t.
Seems like nonsense. If The president took a conference at his Crawford ranch does that now mean he can’t prevent people from walking onto that ranch for the duration of his presidency? Furthermore, if Twitter can block people for how they interact, why can’t the user? Does Twitter now have to keep Trump’s account open regardless of the TOS?
If he opens the ranch to the public for official purposes than yes the public means everyone. Unless you’re a security risk. He’s the President of the United States, not just the President of people he likes, or of people who like him for that matter.
But since the public can’t just walk up to the Resolute Desk, why would they have more rights vis a vis the President’s private property?
Plus – you can always see the president’s tweets even if he blocks you. Just open a window in a different browser where you’re not logged in. Yes it might “mess” with your views and “influence” with folks following you if you’re not the first jack-off to reply or r/t him, but him blocking you by no means prevents you from viewing his tweets.
You nail it, from my ideological perspective. The current legal perspective, however (not a lawyer) probably differs.
“Twitter was a “public” platform. Perhaps like a lunch counter.”
It is…as in not.
My take? I am unconcerned over Twitter banning people according to the obvious biases of its leadership. Twitter is a private company and they can make any rules they want. But, much like the news media, I take umbrage at Twitter’s continued insistence that they’re somehow taking a moral high ground. They can do what they want, but it pisses me off that they lie about it and expect to be treated as something other than a web app for group texts.
I don’t know anybody who talks about Twitter in the real world. I’m sure thats mostly self selection, but I know plenty of people with Instagram, Facebook, and pinterest accounts, but Twitter seems to be a hangout for blue hairs and journalos.
The year Trump was elected, my dad decided he wanted to try out Twitter, so my brother-in-law and I helped him set up the account and application. By the time desserts were coming out, he had already deleted both.
“I wonder what other Glibs’ thoughts are on this.”
No opinion, Just advice. Stay off social media, you’ll literally get brain damage. Twitter and Facebook should get a surgeon general’s warming saying as much.
Tim Pool was being a dick during the interview
True, but it takes a dick to fuck an asshole.
I’m with you that Twitter is a private company and the only people they are responsible to is their shareholders. I personally don’t want to see social media be regulated.
That said, having an underhanded bias by enforcing rules against people with views they don’t like will invite regulation. We already have team red politicians calling for regulating these companies. Pool represents a part of the left that is disaffected by the fringes of the left, so it might just be a matter of time before elements of team blue get on board.
The easiest way for Twitter or anybody else in social media to prevent that, is to stop being assholes and either enforce their rules the same way for everyone, or you know, respect free speech.
Or it will invite a competitor.
Gab is their competitor. They got kicked off multiple ISPs for wrongthink and I believe they had some backlash from Mastercard or Visa.
The fact is that if Twitter or Facebook has a problem with you, eventually, Patreon, Paypal, Mastercard, Visa will have a problem with you too.
Sounds like collusion!
It would be great if there was a free-speech alternative to the entrenched internet giants, but there isn’t.
If you don’t like the existing options everyone tells you to go start your own competitor. So why don’t we have a good one yet?
There’s multiple major hurdles with setting up a new social network that competes with the existing ones. The biggest one IMO isn’t the chicken-egg problem of attracting a userbase, but financial.
Money in big tech is massively dominated by progs. If you are starting up an alternative to the existing prog dominated outlets you won’t get funded, and to execute such a launch right you’ll need a lot of cash.
Prog tech investors will keep throwing money at these ventures not because they’re profitable, but because they know they can eventually be used as political weapons. If you approach anyone else with such ideas, you’ll get dismissed pretty quickly because non-partisan and right-leaning investors all want to see cold hard monthly revenue figures that prove the business is viable before investing.
If you try and bootstrap, the other hurdles become massive and if you manage to overcome a few, the big money progs will start trying to freeze you out.
The only way you can possibly pull it off is to create a tech solution that doesn’t involve social media, get widespread adoption throughout the entire population, then add a social media component later.
If you don’t like the existing options everyone tells you to go start your own competitor. So why don’t we have a good one yet?
Because, by and large, nobody gives a shit. 80% of people use social media to engage with IRL friends and family. Of the other 20%, 80% of that isn’t in the political space.
The only people who give a shit about Twitter’s political leanings are the small handful of people who follow day-to-day politics and comment on it on social media. Even of that group, 60 or 70% are happy that those evil alt righters are getting banned.
An alternative needs to improve on the product its displacing, and “Twitter, but with 100% more neo-Nazis and nobody you actually know” isn’t much of a selling point.
“or you know, respect free speech.”
“Congressman, as a private company, we are not constitutionally bound by the Bill of Rights. Nonetheless, we have chosen to embrace that noble document: we shall make NO rules or regulation abridging the freedom of speech.”
That SHOULD bring a standing ovation. Unfortunately, in today’s world, it would bring a storm of fury on their heads.
Twitter has no incentive to prevent regulation of their business model.
If regulations are imposed, the barrier to entry for upstarts that could dislodge them rises dramatically. Facebook, Twitter, and the other big social media companies have the resources to address anything that comes their way and/or make sure the regulators are friendly to them (and only them). If you think rivals like Gab have it tough now, wait until the revolving door between the Department of the Internet and Big Socials gets built.
Red liberty!
At least they took the “Zion Curtain” down by the time I got there.
Defunct fast food chains of America.
We already established that ponderosa is still in business.
Pondy’s the coolest!
TBF: the poster notes them as “he surviving locations of nearly defunct restaurant chains”
Pondegrossa, amirite?
Ponderosa is the only one I recognized. Back in the ’40s we could get 5 sliders with a coupon for 20 cents at White Castle. We would get 10 while we were traveling, Dad 3, Mom 2, brother 3 and me 2. It was a real experience for us since we never went to a restaurant for lack of money.
I recognized three of the chains… none of which I’ve ever eaten at, since my family didn’t have any money either.
I recognized three of the chains as well, and I’ve been to them. In fact the girlfriend and I made it a point to swing by Ollie’s Trolley when we were in Louisville last summer. From what I’ve read on it, that’s the only one that still has the original menu and building.
I saw a sizzler the other day in Santa Clara. I thought they went out of busieness 10 years ago

I’m so ashamed!
Hey Franky! Nice to see ya’!
thx
My favorite is Pig Stand. Only one left in San Antonio, but it was the worlds first drive-in chain.
Holy shit, that BK Root Beer stand photo is about 10 minutes away from me!
GD RITZY’S in Evansville REPRESENT!
That place is great. Amazing old school burgers, fries and shakes.
YUM. That’s across the street from Eastland Mall. Marching band used to do our car wash fundraisers there. Goddammit I wish I weren’t such a late bloomer. I only did that my freshmen year, and some of the senior-class hotties def had my attention.
The only time I pull up twitter is when someone here links to it.
I have almost completely stopped even doing that.
Teh twatter is brain cancer, straight up.
I was thinking yesterday about getting on MySpace back when that was the thing, and how everyone was editing the HTML of their pages, loads of sites automated editing, how stupid and insecure we all seem in retrospect. And just a few years later, we’re all self-serious citizen journalists and avatars of objectivity, and Twitter is our temple.
I stopped blogging when I was tweeting regularly. My favorite format is essay and after years of 120 characters, I totally lost my ability to form my thoughts in “long” form. My attention span is shit.
Not Twitter’s fault, but I did notice the change.
After many years of talking on a radio, most of my communication is clear, concise and brief. Perfect for Twitter. I refuse to engage in the cesspool.
My communication is random, incoherent, and meandering, with ample pauses as I try to compose my sentences.
I usually experience that after 8pm.
#metoo
“My attention span is shit”
I think that’s happened to a lot of us.
Our attention spans are now shorter than those of goldfish, on average, and have been for a few years.
On that note, I’m closing this down and going to grind through another chapter of the programming book I’ve been trying to get through.
You’re actually reading a book on programming? What sort of programming?
Short form propaganda
The Go Programming Language
It’s become widespread in my field and there are a couple of projects I’d like to contribute to, so I thought I’d try a more systematic approach than my usual, “try to write something and keep googling for answers”

Step 1: polish off last 2oz of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.
Love this bourbon.
Drink 2: Redemption Rye.
Liquor store had three bottles of the Colonel E H Taylor small batch this week. I picked up all three. ?
You win this day.
That one’s pretty good. I went through a couple of bottles of it last year. I haven’t been drinking much liquor, the only thing I have in the house is a bottle of Whistlepig Farmstock Rye, a bottle of One Ouro cachaca from Minas Gerais, and half empty bottles of Grey Goose and Titos.
Have you had it before?
I’m not a fan. Both the wife and I thought it was way overrated.
She uses it to cook with now.
I really like it. I do add an ice cube to it. Tones it down just a bit on a generous pour to a flavor I enjoy.
Today I passed by and found that It had been treed!
OUCH! And I’m not really much of a muscle car fan.
where local ordinances require ice.
Ask for a straw, so you can flip the ice onto the bar.
Or just tell them one cube and eat that right off the bat.
I would be more inclined to use my fingers and make a show of it.
Let it slip out of your fingers on to the floor.
Sigh, “Oh well”
Or something

Its UT, the bartender has a shotgun under the bar.
I’m mildly interested in the Kraft sex spa case and the blatant sleeze of law enforcement here threatening to release the tapes to the public.
It’s pretty straight forward blackmail in a situation in which law enforcement knows it’s not going to win. They offer a bullshit plea deal to those involved in which they have to admit they’d be found guilty of they go to trial. Kraft and a few others rightfully tell them to fuck off. They then openly threaten to release embarrassing footage if he doesn’t comply.
The evidence in question seems, at least in my amateur opinion, likely to be tossed. They already exaggerated the situation by throwing around the human trafficking bullshit.
So, they went after a big fish. They knew they couldn’t build the case legally, but were hoping for the media to dutifully report whatever bullshit they spoon fed them and to shame Kraft and others into compliance.
Prosecutors are all asshole dirtbags.
Kraft let Brady voice support for that orange bastard, sort of. He had it coming.
I’m yet to hear how they got a warrant for video surveillance. Sounds more than a little sketchy to me.
Wouldn’t releasing the tapes taint the jury and thus ruin any chance of a fair trial? Yeah, it is blackmail.
I totally lost my ability to form my thoughts in “long” form. My attention span is shit.
Naught to do with Twatter, but #METOO.
I just tell myself my comments are “pithy”.
YouTube hasn’t helped.
It’s like being a cop. You don’t have to be an asshole, but you probably are.
Livestream of today’s Glibertarians Google Hangout
Well that was depressing
Is that a livestream from your lunch break?

Its Joe Miller
I’m really pissed you didn’t send it to me to use as my new avatar.
Excuse me while I go kill myself.
5 seconds. Yep, that’s how long it took me to tap out.
Stuff Posted On My Website’s Comment Page Part 2
These are actual excerpts from spam sent to my company’s website comment form, which still does not have a recaptcha.
I am guessing spam from eastern europe? China? or wherever that has been run through a bad translator. I cant think of any logical reason why someone would deliberately compose gibberish and send to your company.
Hmmmm unless it’s coming from a NYT columnist.
Probably more likely
????
There are links in the body of the email which I didn’t copy. I’m assuming the gibberish is auto-generated in order to bypass spam filters looking for repetitive text patterns.
I dont see anything about his wife’s brother’s cousin’s tennis instructor’s hair dresser. That is curious.
I suspect it’s link-farming – trying to raise the search profile of those links by embedding them in syntactically correct gibberish in order to fool Google’s crawlers into thinking they’re meaningful links (Google & others assign value to sites based upon the number of incoming links, amoung other things).
So needed to slow down so went with Four Roses Small Batch, lemonade, and ginger beer.
I had a beer with lunch. Getting the oil changed right now, then to the store for dinner. I should be home just in time to fire up a cocktail.
Heading to the store with wife to get whatever it is we need for company tomorrow. I can’t figure out how I just spent $450 at the grocery store and now I need to go to the grocery store. This is why women should never be allowed to talk to each other. I guess I could grab some beer, that might it seem better.
Me grocery shopping: Start at the left side of the store, walk up and down each aisle until I’m at the right side of the store. Walk to checkout.
Wife grocery shopping: Start at the left side of the store. Walk to an aisle near the right hand of the store. Walk back to an aisle near the left side of the store. Repeat 4 or 5 times before checkout.
I start on the right side because that is where the bacon is.
I check the list (which I try to organize by department before even getting to the store), go the departments I need to, with a run down the meat department to see if there’s any good sales, and hit the beer section to see what’s fresh.
Loop around the outside, Veggies-Deli-Bakery-Meats-Dairy-Household Supplies (TP). Only go down an aisle if there is a specific product you need, for example the Clausen hearty garlic sandwich slices are halfway down the third aisle and the bread flour and oils and spices are in aisle four rarely is there a reason to go down any other aisle.
So, you added some beer to your whiskey and this is slowing down? Works for me, I can use that. ‘This isn’t my 4th whiskey, honey, I slowed down by getting a beer to go with it’. Perfect!
*points to lemonade*
See? I’m slowing down.
There totally isn’t any vodka in that lemonade!
Wife just got home and I got out some vodka for her so will see how I incorporate:)
“So needed to slow down so went to boilermakers”
And I thought I was bad.
I’m currently recuperating from being introduced to the standard Four Roses yellow label last night. It’s amazingly good for the money.
Love Four Roses.
Getting the oil changed right now
*thinks back wistfully to the days of regular oil changes*
What? That’s not a euphemism?
But seriously… I have been such a good boy today, knocking a bunch of random jobs off the list, i think I’ll go down to the Mexi place and have some lunch.
I walked 4.5 miles, vacuumed the entire house, and cleaned my computer desk, then going to the store. I think I’m done except for the work of popping a couple of beer tops. Maybe a shot of Titos. Maybe 2 of those.
Picked up parts for my leaf blower, and a new pole saw. Can’t wait to try it out. Grocery shopping later this afternoon and maybe some Thai for dinner.
Brooks, Riven turned us on to The Roost. You ever go by there?
I’m enjoying the High West Double Rye right now. It is rather assertive and spicy so it mixes very well with my black cherry juice/peach juice/Luxardo Maraschino Originale/ginger ale.
Not the ideal way to end a cruise: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-47680055
What a dream of a cruise, in some of the coldest water on earth near the Arctic Circle in what’s essentially still winter.
Guessing the top deck outdoor pool doesn’t get a lot of use on that cruise.
Seriously, people would pay to cruise there this time of year??
That shit happens all of the time but you rarely hear about it. I knew a guy who spent three years working on a cruise ship. Twice his ship was stranded at sea because of engine trouble, once the reverse osmosis water filter died and once they had an outbreak of cruise ship flu with one fatality.
I dont think I will be taking any cruises. OK, maybe these guys: https://www.libertyfleet.com/windjammer-cruises/
This. Most of them are pretty good about making it right on a later date…assuming you’ll go back on a ship after than.
On to beer. Let my wife have the Great Lakes Eliot Ness Amber. I’m doing the Deschutes Black Butte Porter. Yum.
I’m going through some Cocoa Blonde from Railroad brewing I picked up there for their 2nd anniversary last year. Mild notes of chocolate in a light beer.
Nice. Next beers. Wife got Abita Amber which is good. Me the New Belgium 1554 which I’m totally digging.
I’m on my fourth Strohs, I have a homey heffe but I’m saving it for after dinner.
Next beer Ommegang Abbey Ale Dubbel. Very good.
Fuck Twitter. It’s a showcase for humanity’s worst instincts.
Worse than
DetroitGlibs?A place where the traditional welcome includes a ‘fuck off’? Yeah, it’s worse than Glibs. We may have to up our game.
Ah, but is Twitter certified family-friendly?
Somehow, yes.
It seems like unless you’re a hardcore porn site, you’re not considered to be non-family-friendly. Even Stormfront isn’t given the red X, though it doesn’t get a green check like Twitter or Glibs.
I’m willing to believe that there is a direct correspondence between how much time a person spends on twitter and how much of an asshole they are.
But I can’t explain David Burge.
Either your model needs work or I’m going to have to start spending a lot more time on twitter.
