I agree. I actually heard something on the radio is there some indicator that when it turns negative, usually means a recession is near. But that was before 2009 and what changes in the way the Fed has acted plus regulatory changes may mean the typical indicators need to be re calibrated.

I do know someone who kept losing their mailbox to baseball bats so he put one up made out of reinforced concrete. When he found the broken aluminum bat lying nearby a couple of weeks later, he was vindicated.
I bought what looks like an ordinary box but it locks and is made of 3/16″ steel.
When I was a teenager there was a mailbox on this gentle curve of a rural road in Indiana. If you didn’t take the curve you could just go straight, obliterate the mailbox, enjoy a pleasant drive past some pine trees cut through the rest of the lawn, and be placed gently back on the rural route. I’d blast that mailbox every six months or so. Very satisfying.

I had a cheap plastic mailbox that was “nearly” indestructible, in part because it would swivel around on the post when they juvenile delinquents would hit it with a baseball bat, I assume as they were driving by. I don’t get this. One of our cats is diabetic. I recently bought a vial of insulin for him: cost $96, without insurance. Maybe human insulin is a different brand but is there really that much variation in something that has been off-patent for many years?
The FDA approves the manufacturing facilities for human usage. They can easily restrict the supply.

GoodRx is awesome, btw. If you’re paying for drugs yourself for whatever reason, it will let you pay what the insurance companies are actually paying, which is a fraction of the supposed retail cost of the drug.

New Jersey- battling the scourge of ghost guns
New Jersey on Friday filed a lawsuit against a California retailer that sold so-called ghost guns, or assembly kits for untraceable AR-15 rifles.
The lawsuit, filed in Superior Court against U.S. Patriot Armory, comes after Gov. Phil Murphy (D) criminalized the purchase of firearm parts with the goal of assembling a gun without a serial number, news site NJ.com reported.
U.S. Patriot Armory and its owner, James Tromblee Jr., are accused of selling the “ghost guns,” which officials say bypass loopholes in state and federal firearm laws by selling “80 percent builds” with instructions for how to complete the rest.
The guns can be sold online and shipped through the mail without background checks because the nearly-completed guns are not capable of firing, the newspaper noted.
New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal sent cease-and-desist letters to at last 16 companies that sell such kits after Murphy’s ban went into effect in November.
Grewal said during a news conference on Friday that U.S. Patriot Armory ignored the demand to stop shipping.
An undercover officer was able to order “all the parts to make a fully operational AR-15-style rifle” for $583.98 in February, which was shipped them to a New Jersey address “without conducting a background check, without including a serial number, and without a warning that the gun we were buying was illegal in our state.”
A firearms expert with the state police was able to assemble and fire the AR-15 after the assembly kit arrived last week, the newspaper reported.

The government in the US is less responsive and less nimble than New Zealand’s. It takes a lot more agreement to get anything done in the US, which was built around the idea of separation of powers and protecting individual rights.

But the Deep State will just as quickly destroy a Dem that crosses them too. For some reason no one seems to mention this fact of little importance. What they are accusing Trump of is not a crime and nearly every previous president has committed the same acts. Trump is the only one I know of that has not and that is what they accuse him off?

A lot of times what’s happening in certain urban demographics is the information, civics are removed from the schools. So from a very beginning space where we had a young impressionable mind that we could identify with conservative ideology and liberty and freedom-based ideology, to be perfectly honest, that information is switched in certain demographics. You go to our classes, it’s not just at the range and just teaching somebody about stance, grip, sight alignment, and things of that nature. A firearm is a tool, a tool to defend freedom.

Gun control has a hugely disparate impact on blacks. Think about the states where you have to convince chief law enforcement officer to grant you a concealed carry permit. I’ll say it again. This is very dangerous language right there. It basically can be interpreted to mean every gun in existence except for revolvers, single action rifles, or muzzle loaders. And I’ll go so far as to say that it definitely will be in due time. It’s a gun grabber dream come true.
Actually, double action revolvers are functionally semi-autos. Make no mistake, the gun grabbers are jerking off over the English knife ban. You can be arrested in Airstrip One for having anything that can be used as an offensive weapon. A screw driver, a stick, a hammer. I took a few years of JuJitsu in my college years. We had an instructor who taught us to use a tightly rolled newspaper as a very effective weapon – insert pen is mightier than the sword joke here.

I always think it’s fun to draw parallels between gun confiscation and cracking down on Muslims. How about this: “Instead of spending tons of money to have domestic security agencies investigate anyone who might have terrorist connections, we could try taking stronger action on immigration from Muslim countries.”
