I’m sneaking out to see the Rays-Astros game, so some of these may be stale by the time you get them. I’d love to care, but about the time you see them, Blake Snell will be hurling the first pitch towards home plate. Its about time we got back to that time of year where the final stanza of the national anthem is “Play Ball!”
Apparently, there’s a bridge in Scotland that dogs jump off of to their death or injury with startling regularity. Poor doggos.
40 years later, it’s still true that more people died at Chappaquiddick than Three Mile Island.
I was expecting knights in shining armor.
Cryptid spotted in DC! Okay, so it was just a mask. She better hope SWAMP SMITH approves of her work.
At least you weren’t expecting Knights In White Satin.
May as well go ahead and hit that motherfkn’ THEME MUSIC!

Not as interesting as a ghost.
I’m trying to figure out if the non-compete I signed six years ago will still apply after my company lays me off tomorrow. I have to sign a big release to get my severance pay, not sure if that release goes both ways.
Employment attorney.
Yeah – just sent the docs to my brother – an attorney but not an employment attorney.
You get what you pay for.
non-compete I signed six years ago will still apply after my company lays me off tomorrow
Assume it does. Plan accordingly.
Yep – although it seems like some real bullshit that they would enforce it after firing me.
As long as you don’t do anything illegal, I can’t see why they would try to enforce this. Are you taking some insider info or trade secrets to a real potential rival? Short of that I can’t see them coming after you unless you fucked the CEO/CIO/CFO’s wife and put a video of that on Youtube making the dude a chuck, and they want revenge…
A long time ago, one of the local TV stations dumped their weatherman. One of the other stations picked him up right away, but he couldn’t go on air for a year.
Businesses will enforce no-competes on employees that the fire or lay-off.
Flowers?
I assume he had a contract and the non-compete ended the day the contract ended / they stopped paying him. That’s the way it work when guys like Opie and Anthony got fired.
Depends on the state. In CA non-compete clauses are unenforceable at the point of termination. I believe CA has the most aggressive limitation on them, but other states do constrain employers in what documents they can require employees to sign/how enforceable those contracts are after the fact.
he couldn’t go on air for a year
Sounds like he had a non-compete in “the market” (however that is defined) for a one year period. Most states won’t enforce non-competes for more than a year.
I’m trying to figure out if the non-compete I signed six years ago will still apply after my company lays me off tomorrow.
It should be clear in the agreement that it applies for X period of time after employment terminates. If it doesn’t, then its unlikely that it would be apply after you are laid off. I don’t think any state would allow enforcement for more than a set period of time (a year or two?) after employment, but that will vary by state.
My wife bought her way out of her non-compete agreement. 2 weeks of work without pay, but it was definitely worth it.

Did team red grow ballz? Cause I am surprised they did this….
They are riding high right now. Perfect time to take some scalps.
I never would have figured them for the type to actually do it. These are the people I remember would find a way to roll over and show their bellies even when they were right or being falsely accused. Is this the orange man effect? They have seen how he will not let the crooks play him the way they play the usual team red moron, and are learning to actually fight by the same prison rules team blue does?
Calling people names and engaging in drama – that’s just show stuff.
Balls would be some serious immigration legislation, spending cuts, Obamacare repeal, permanent tax cuts, national reciprocity… All the stuff they carefully avoided during the last Congress.
Maybe they’ll repeal Obamacare if the courts rule it unconstitutional.
The last congress was run by never Trumpers IMO, which is why they fucked up so much. With asshats like McCain gone, I am seeing some potential real change from team red, although they are still running away from the real shit you mentioned…
How did you type that without stopping to laugh?
Replace national reciprocity (which is just federalizing concealed carry, and will last until the Dems regain control or the permanent state decides to fuck it like they did with bump stocks) with repealing the Brady Act, the machine ban portion of FOPA, the 68 GCA or the NFA, and I’d go along with that.
“…the machine ban portion of FOPA,…”
And they would have perfect standing for cancelling this legislation since the sound recording of the voice vote which added the Hughes Amendment to FOPA very obviously showed that the measure did not pass – but the DNC operative in charge (Charlie Rangle) simply counted the vote as “aye”.

It’s from a song. Istanbul (Not Constantinople) from They Might be Giants.
Eric Holder is a disingenuous twat
It turns out New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn’t the only prominent Democrat who questions whether America was ever that great.
In pointed terms during an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday, Obama-era attorney general Eric Holder posed the question to MAGA-chanting Trump supporters: “Exactly when did you think America was great?”
After speaking during Wednesday’s MSNBC interview with Holder on topics like criminal justice reform and partisan redistricting – which the ex-AG says is now his focus instead of running for the White House in 2020 – host Ari Melber had asked him: “There is a lot of talk about America being a leader as a democracy, quote unquote, in the 1800s when women and African-Americans couldn’t vote. What kind of democracy is that?”
Holder, unprovoked, then used his answer to tear into Trump’s campaign rally cry.
“That’s exactly right. And that’s what I hear these things about ‘let’s make America great again’ and I think to myself, ‘exactly when did you think America was great’?” he said on the show.
“It certainly wasn’t when people were enslaved. It certainly wasn’t when women didn’t have the right to vote. It certainly wasn’t when the LGBT community was denied the rights to which it was entitled.”
*rolls eyes*
America was great when we crushed the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
To people like Holder that was a tragedy, because the wrong side won.
And the Japs and the Germans in WWII.
Yes, but I really wanted to get “socialist” in there.
When they defeated the National Socialists in WWII.
#notrealsocialism
Huh, so Holder is like his former boss. What a shock.
These ejits like to compare America to some perfect ideal in their minds, instead of, you know, actual countries on planet earth inhabited by humans. As a slavery comparison, most of the Middle East outlawed it i. The 1950’s and 60’s. Mauritania did so in the 1980’s. What a disengenious shitheel that guy is.
This. Relatively speaking, the US has pretty much always been superior to other countries morally and otherwise. And when Trump says “great again” he does not mean going back to having slavery or denying voting rights. He is talking about hard work, less gov’t and the prosperity that results.
To be fair, the United States was one in the last Western countries to abolish slavery.
And one of very few that did it though violence. Haiti was the other one and I can’t think of any others.
I guess you could say that if the CSA had been able to leave in peace, then the Union would have been able to do it peacefuly. Though the issue would have been a sticking point between the two countries.
I remember reading that 90% of the African slave trade was to the Caribbean European colonies and Brazil. I know France abolished it in the colonies in the 1830’s and Brazil in the 1880’s I believe.
Yeah I think Brazil was the last country in the Western hemisphere to outlaw it.
Yes the United States majority denied various minority groups their basic human rights by exempting those groups from the benefits of the Constitution that recognized and guaranteed those rights, during a period when in the rest of the world tiny minorities denied the majority their basic human rights by ignoring the whole concept. One of these imperfect systems is clearly superior both in the utilitarian sense of respecting the rights of more people, and in the moral sense of recognizing the universality of the rights even while failing to apply that recognition.
100% of human institutions, individuals, and States are flawed and have done wrong. That does not make them equivalent, and it certainly doesn’t mean the United States was not, a Great Country despite its flaws.
Well said. Nice perspective in the first paragraph.
We have all disappointed Eric Holder. I feel ashamed.
Was Fast & Furious your contribution Eric the Clown?
Yea baseball is back! Going to opening day here next Friday against the Rays (?!) of all teams. Unfortunately, my team, the Giants, look to be lucky to get third in their division this year. The NL West is looking damn tough right now. At least I can root against the Dodgers this year.
AOC Calls For Recount Of 57-0 Rejection Of Green New Deal
Communist cutie-pie and intellectual fistful of rocks Alexandria Occasional Cortex is absolutely livid that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel called a vote on her Green New Deal.
Pounding her shoe on the table until the high heel snapped off and hit her in the forehead, the curvaceous dimwit and sworn enemy of Crash Bandicoot said, “With death hanging over the whole world like something really bad hanging over something very big, the Republicans are making a mockery of this terrible crisis by interrupting our virtue signaling in a blatant attempt to force us to take action. Even as we speak, factories are spewing iPhones and Macaroni and Cheese boxes into the atmosphere at record rates, and, between December and August alone, the average temperature rose almost forty degrees. If this trend continues, by the time December rolls around again, by my calculation it will be almost a hundred and twenty degrees every single day unless some amazing miracle occurs to make the temperature go down again like it did last year.”
In a 57 to zero vote, three Democrats joined Republicans in voting against the proposal, thirty-three Democrats voted present, nine Democrats weren’t sure they were present and wanted to see the polls first, and Bernie Sanders voted to “have Mitch McConnel shipped to the gulags and worked to death like we used to do in the old days.”
Meanwhile, a furious AOC demanded a recount saying 57 to nothing was much too close to call. She told reporters, “With unemployment rates so low because people are dying from the water in Flint, Michigan, and the stock market rising because everyone is trying to sell off before the end of the world, we must all stop having children to insure a better future.”
Voters in Dr. Cortex’s district said her statement was indicative of her complex intellectual vision or her use of black market hallucinogens, and either way they would reelect her because they could use the laughs.
What are the odds she’ll be re-elected anyway. Does she have a primary challenger?
I hope she gets re-elected. It’s worth having her in there for the larfs.
Communist cutie-pie and intellectual fistful of rocks…
It’s juvenile, but I laughed.
I’m out eating lunch and laughing out loud. I got a few looks but it was worth it.
I don’t know. This reads a little too much like being hit over the head. The problem is that AOC is not someone you can simply parody by making her more dumb, it defies the abstention of disbelief.
Suspension*
I’ve been know to abstain from belief.
Whatever you do, don’t go to her Twitter account. Especially the thread about Mueller or DeVos. OMFG. And who the frick are these Krassenstein weirdos?
Dr. Cortex!

Well…I guess, in some way that this is the best I can hope for this season…
Raining outside my window. XY asked me to come pick him up so he didn’t have to walk in it. I, like a squish, did.
Biked to school till the snow made it infeasible.
Well, that’s just it. He’s walked and ridden and scooted to school in worse rain than this so I don’t know why today was special (except he didn’t wear a coat and the temperature has dropped dramatically from this morning).
Just next time you pick him up yell “(name) hurry up, we have to go underwear shopping!’ I’m sure he’ll never ask for you to pick him up again.
Consequently, if you modify Leon’s suggestion slightly to
“(name) hurry up, we have to go underwear shopping for me!’
The State will make sure you never have to pick him up from school ever again.
Oh, don’t worry. After a couple of hours, the State will be back with him and say, “Here. You deal with him.”
SpahnandSainand pray for rain?…more like pray for SMOD.
Oh so like we do in Cincinnati?
No sympathy.
Orioles fan here.
Sigh.
Your Swiss paymasters can credit you with the sale of a chunk of cheese. I spotted some raclette for the first time and had to pick it up. Pretty good even if not heated and scraped.
YES! *skypoints*
But you do need to try it melty and on small roasted taters, really good bread, etc.
And ham, sliced sausage and cornichons on the side.
Make sure it’s raw milk raclette. It really matters.
As long as that rain delay holds…
Take it and call it a season.
I’m just glad the Royals are trying to go back to the only formula that has ever worked for the franchise: speed, defense, and pitching. The pitching still isn’t where it needs to be but who knows. They won’t be a winning team this year, especially without Salvador Perez. He really is the heart and soul of that team. Hard to not like the guy, Royals fan or not.
“That’s what speed do.”
https://thearmchaircommentary.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/butlerdance.gif
I have a little notebook I use to write down inspirational things. I have a whole section of “things the Royals taught me.” Of course, that was the 2014 and 2015 team, but still.
I must admit when they won the ’14 ALCS I cried a single man tear.
Chris Davis went 0-3 with 3 strikeouts. He will somehow be worse than last year.
FWIW, the Cubbies are up 7-2 over the Rangers in the bottom of the 5th.
2 HRs and 4 rbi’s from Javy Baez so far in that one. Nice start.
I listen to music all day every day at work. Often, I’ll pull up a band’s entire discography and listen (skipping over the really bad ones if need be.) Its really hard to be consistently good. Here’s my top 5. Or 7. Or however many.
Iron Maiden. Given the volume of output, there aren’t too many low points. Not a ton of diversity, but nothing too objectionable.
Protest the Hero. Much like Iron Maiden, they’ve just been so damn consistent. Unlike Maiden, who have gobs of stand-out singles, PtH to me has a single peak at Colors.
(and to a lesser extent) Coheed and Cambria, aka Mainstream Protest the Hero. Not as good, but same applies, with the peak at Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness. But kudos for the needlessly long album names.
VNV nation. I want to say that they are super consistent too, and they always sound like VNV nation. but they show a good progression through time that makes their discography worth listening to in order.
Strapping Young Lad / Devin Townsend : unlike everyone else on this list, Townsend changes dramatically through time and has some really shit albums pepper in between some really fantastic albums. You can probably pick out when he gets on and off recreational drugs and medically prescribed drugs.
Johnny Cash: He’s got everything. Progression, consistency, *AND* music-influenced-by-drug-use.
“Iron Maiden”
Too damn noodley.
I am beginning to doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion.
“Johnny Cash: He’s got everything. Progression, consistency, *AND* music-influenced-by-drug-use”
1 out of 6 or 7. I’ll take it and Walk that Lonesome Valley
Re the dogs. Saw that story in one of those ‘creepy’ YouTube channels years ago. It’s a weird one for sure.
Children shouldn’t be allowed in supermarkets. There should be a coral or some sort of cage in the parking lot, where people who brought their kids can leave them.
Wrong.
Parents of uncontrollable children should be beaten with a stick.
I like the cut of your jib. For the record, I have 2 kids and took both shopping.
I used to race with my son 4 year old son in the grocery store because if I ran faster than him, he would yell at the top of his lungs “Daddy why did you beat me again!!!!” in front of all the normies.
Where do you fall on that?
If it’s in my aisle and I almost got hit by you, then we have a problem. Somewhere else and I’m fine.
Why not both?
I took my kids to public places all the time and never had issues with them. Part of teaching kids how to behave in public is getting them out into public places.
Except for kids with real disabilities, parents are the problem. Even then, it’s the parent’s responsibility to know that certain kids will never be capable of behaving in public.
So actually, it is always the parent’s fault.
Agreed.
Our five-year-old once said to me in store where some little kid was throwing a fit because he couldn’t (yet) get what he wanted. “Daddy, why do his parents let him get away with that?”
He knew he sure as hell wouldn’t.
You raised him/her/xe right.
Wife and I were having that conversation the other day. We went out with some friends (who have 3 kids, soon to be 4), and the chaos was noticeable. It wasn’t quite to the bad parenting stage, but it was borderline. We concluded that 80% of that behavior wouldn’t be a problem for Toddler trshmnstr because we’d be administering corporal punishment in the car before it got to that.
Same for movie theaters, theme parks, and sports stadiums.
Speaking as a person who once had to take small children to the grocery store, I concur.
Believe it or not some stores in have them. I knew there were a few with supervised play spaces for young kids when I lived in Louisville and I think there were some when I was in Ohio as well.
My bet is whether or not they exist depends on how strict the states child care regulations are
Meh, the kid don’t bug me. The welfare moms cashing in 10 wic coupons and loudly arguing with the cashier that Orange Drink counts as juice, or that cheetos count as cheese bug me. (so do old people struggling with checks, but in that case I recognize that my annoyance is unjustified and choke it down)
“so do old people struggling with checks”
Another reason I like cash,
*counts out $10.73 in nickels and pennies*
Don’t you mean *hands the cashier a $20, then says “hold on I have $.73 cents here, before rummaging in a clasp change purse for the pennies?”
Oh, you’ve met my wife, I see
Oh-oh, puts change purse discreetly back in pocket, pretends to sack groceries
My kids are great in the grocery store. It’s the other 99% who ruin it.
My kid was delightful in the supermarket. Perfectly well behaved and at the age of 4, while we were shopping at Berkeley Bowl (a fantastic store sadly crammed with Progs), he said loudly, “Daddy, why does everybody look so mad?”
It’s like you people don’t even have toilets and chains.
Baltimore already lost.
It’s gonna be a long one for the Orioles.
Nice park though. We had a grand old time a couple of years back taking in a game.
“Jussie Smollett is nominated for an NAACP Award, and host Anthony Anderson hopes he wins
Just days after the prosecutors dropped all charges against Jussie Smollett, who had been indicted on 16 counts of disorderly conduct, the “Empire” actor could again make headlines.
Smollett is nominated for the 2019 NAACP Image Awards, scheduled for Saturday. Six-time host and “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson told Variety on Wednesday that he hopes to see the controversial actor there.
“I hope he wins,” Anderson added. “I’m happy for him that the system worked for him in his favor because the system isn’t always fair, especially for people of color. So I’m glad it worked out for him.””

I really wish he’d keep quiet about this. Chicagoans are absolutely livid about this right now and there’s hope that it could spark some lasting, positive change in government over the long term, but Trump inserting himself into it could royally fuck shit all up.
My God did you read some of those comments? Ryan Hill is a retard.
What if I’m crazy and he really was innocent, and those two Nigerian Americans really did all those things, and he really didnt pay them money with a personal check.
And that pair of jacked Nigerian-Americans were only capable of inflicting a tiny scratch on his face.
Remember he gallantly fought them off. Both of them.
Without dropping his sandwich or his cell phone.

It is very possible that the whiteface makeup they wore ran and got into their eyes. Assaulting someone will make you sweat quite a bit even in a polar vortex.
A Nigerian scam that worked?!
^^^ give this man opera applause !
The system wasn’t fair for a “person of color*” (colored person?) this time either, just not how you mean.
*I really hate this term.
Maybe we should start calling white people “people of light” or “Full spectrum” going with the whole color theory, light theory.
Well, I’m beige, but besides that if people were actually white that would mean they’re all of the other colors, right? So a white person would be equivalent to every other non-white person. A black person, OTOH, being entirely without color, would thus be a person of no color, which I think would put them right at the bottom of the grievance list.
Mind blown.
I am with you on that. It is the most racist (and ridiculous) term that the left has managed to work into everyday use. Putting all of humanity in one category and “white” people in another is the worst sort of collectivist garbage thinking.
Predictably, this whole affair is turning into yet another case of stirring up racial animosity. Straight out of the leftist playbook.
The logic behind all of this is that white people have been getting away with crimes for decades, so why get mad when a black man get away with doing something wrong?
Fine but when are we square?
I think the wisest thing is to forget the past and move forward to ensure it’s better for all.
Trying to right the past is just plain foolish….and dangerous.
You would think that! You Italians still owe all of us of Germanic, British, Greek, Persian, Jewish, Dacian, Iberian, and Celtic ancestry reparations.
Jordan Peterson at some debate with Michael Eric Dyson asked a similar question. Dyson as usual gave some obscure answer and called Peterson a racist.
You’ll never be square in the eyes of the practitioners of racial and idenity politics because it’s not equality they seek, it’s power.
You either treat people as individuals or you don’t.
Jesus Christ.
What, no Noble Piece Prize?
You know what? I hope he wins too. Just to expose it all as a total sham.

It’s private firearms advocacy group and training/safety organization. And their views on 2A are still too far from the intent and plain meaning given by the founders. I am continually perplexed at the hate the NRA gets when groups like SAF and GOA exist.

I’d like to believe that’s real.
Sounds Russian. I believe a Russian cop would point a gun at someone for videoing them (hell, who doesn’t?) and that Russian cops go tooling around in six figure Mercedes SUVs.
He had a Russian flag on his shoulder.
I saw one today from Brazil where a car was chasing a motorcycle the wrong direction on a highway trying to run him over. I’ll see if I can find it.
Saw that last night. Considering where he’s at he got off lucky.
Yes, I larfed.
“An elderly veteran who ran a business supplying water to fight forest fires was prosecuted by the federal government and sent to prison for digging ponds on his own property, one of his lawyers says.
Joe Robertson, a Navy veteran from Montana, was 78 when he was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $130,000 in restitution through deductions from his Social Security checks.
His crime?
Robertson, whose business supplied water trucks to Montana firefighters, dug a series of small ponds close to his home in 2013 and 2014. The site was a wooded area near a channel, a foot wide and a foot deep, with two to three garden hoses’ worth of flow, according to court documents.
The U.S. government prosecuted Robertson for digging in proximity to “navigable waters” without a permit, a violation of the Clean Water Act administered by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers.”

Horseshit. The dumbfucks clipped each other.
Good shoot!
Yeah, I don’t see anyone claiming the guy with the sword ever fired a shot. Hell, the cops haven’t even confirmed he had a gun.
One of my best friends is a Lieutenant there. He said it’s absolutely crossfire.
The sure have trouble with Rule 4, don’t they?
Huh. Some dipshit driving around here today had a quote on the side of his car about using a gun to kill someone isn’t honorable over a samurai sword outline.
NPR had some Union of Concerned Scientists dipshit on today to talk about nuclear power and the 40 to anniversary of nothing happened. You can imagine how that went.

Caucasian populations are disproportionately contributing to climate change through their eating habits, which uses up more food — and emits more greenhouse gases — than the typical diets of black and Latinx communities, according to a new report published in the Journal of Industrial Ecology.
Researchers tracked information from multiple databases to identify foods considered “environmentally intense” by requiring more precious resources such as water, land and energy to produce — and, as a result, releasing more greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide through production and distribution.
Potatoes, beef, apples and milk are some of the worst offenders.”

Our nefarious plan is working! MWAH-HA-HA-HA!
White people are already accused of hogging the majority of jobs, film roles, and housing
Well, in this country they are a majority. It would be superweird if they weren’t.
Ah yes but….
” whereas the Black demographic yields the highest per capita land impacts (1,770 m2⋅year−1) from food consumption.”
Blacks need to eat food that uses less land, like mayo…. and tuna fish
yo…I eat mad piles of tuna & mayo
Dude. Without mayo how would you have sandwiches, or french fries, or hamburgers, or…pretty much anything at all?
I just asked an hispanic dude here if he eats potatoes, beef, apples and milk. He looked at me funny – “uh, yeah”. I told him he has to stop because those are white people foods. I don’t think it’s gonna happen, though.
What the hell are papas?
Something different shitlord!
Cultural appropriation. Duh!
¿Es una papa como una patata?
Si, en Tejas.
In this study, neo-eugenicists try to pass off their racism as “scientific”
Latinx, let’s replace the gendered suffixes of the language that defines the group with an x to show our tolerance… Also doesn’t this study basically say White people do most of the productive work? But it’s apparently ok to to repeat a standard racist trope as long as you define work as ‘damaging the environment’?
Does that make me Whiteyex?
Latinx, let’s replace the gendered suffixes of the language that defines the group with an x to show our tolerance
Since “Latino” and “Latina” are both perfectly good words, isn’t “Latinx” just erasing the men and women supermajority in favor of gender-creative minority?
I mean, if I’m a Latina, what’s the difference between somebody calling me a Latinx and calling me a tranny?
I’m partial of the utter stupidity that is “latin@.”
I’ll readily concede that “latin” doesn’t make sense as an ethnicity unless you’d look convincing in a toga.
Yeah but lets compare our methane production with populations who eat lots of beans
Film roles aren’t jobs?
I’m imagining the NY Post only publishing this garbage in order to laugh at it.
Considering the fact that Guangzhou cuisine consists of every animal known to man, perhaps including man, I’d say it’s Chinese people’s diets that are quite literally killing the environment.
It’s cranberries, isn’t it? Those things need a lot of water.
Haven’t white people also made most of the scientific advancements that have basically eliminated starvation as a problem? If we are going to succumb to this group politics crap, I say we’ve contributed more than our share.
George Washington Carver was a Wesley Snipes ‘straight outta the Congo’ looking mothafucka.
Top right has got some crazy eyes.
Dude at the bottom right knows some shit.
Alls he needs is a MAGA hat and to stare at an Indian.
Queso Fundido is one of the best foods on earth.
Fight me.
*smacks Playa with a pool noodle*
I can’t disagree. It’s good stuff. I married my wife for her queso recipe (Velveeta and rotel in a slow cooker ?)
Add a pound of cooked (and drained) sausage and what you got can be considered an entree at Chez Tres
Chorizo. That’s what I just did.
For the record, chorizo sausage (whole muscle, not the logs of chorizo that are made from glands and lymph nodes).
Bingo Tres
Also, add a layer of retried black beans
Wife and I make a big bowl a bag of chips and dive in in front of the tv
Otherwise known as cheese dip?
https://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/queso-fundido/
Not cheese dip. Not at all.
I’ve been making that all of my life
I call it cheese dip
Cheese dip is process cheese. You don’t have to start with a process cheese like velveeta, but if you’re melting cheese in a saucepan and adding milk, cream, beer, tomato juice, whey, vegetable oil, or whatever, it becomes process cheese.
The link you posted is true queso fundido, which should be served in heavy cast iron so it stays melted for as long as possible. If it cools down, you have to throw it back into the oven.
SP’s trick to use cheeses that are delicious but tend to break is to add a pinch of citric acid.
I’m going to go ahead and say it: I don’t like melted cheese. Except in sliced form on top of a burger. But dips? *shudder*
And I *love* cheese.
So no pizza?
Banhammer imminent.
OK, pizza too.
I think it’s cheese in “creamy” form that triggers some sort of nausea reflex. Maybe I only had some crappy version of it a long time ago.
“Banhammer imminent.”
With extreme prejudice.

Well played, sir. Well played.
Spud gets it.
I’m with Rhywun. Cheese in liquid form is vile.
The only thing you eat is Bud Lite and Marlboros.
And he smokes the Marlboros and then drops them in the Bud Light.
I didn’t know you had met him. He’s a twisted little fuck, isn’t he?
Sick, sick individual. “Ha ha ha ha ha. Suck it!”
Dude. I saw you eat cheese. Less than a week ago.
So either Mad Scientist is an OMWC sockpuppet, or SP has let OMWC log in using Spud’s account. Nothing else could explain them agreeing.
All three of them are real.
The whole thing is just sad.
OMWC and I agreeing is your worst nightmare.
“All three of them are real.”
Whatever, Tulpa.
*throws Chipotle burrito at Playa*
Ugh, I hate queso.
NOT QUESO
queso fundido = chile con queso y carne
So apparently in the UK the parliament seized control of debate to vote on non-binding alternatives to Brexit – and all alternatives lost. Including both a vote-again option and a no-deal Brexit. It looks like their parliament is paralyzed on that issue. We’ll see what happens.
Meanwhile, President of the European Parliament, Donald Tusk, continues to demonstrate his arrogance, elitism, and stupidity, speaking to EP (but maybe addressing British MPs): “you cannot betray the 6 million people who signed a petition to revoke Article 50, the 1 million people who marched for a people vote, or the increasing majority of people who want to remain in the European Union. [applause] They may feel they are not sufficiently represented by their UK parliament. But they MUST feel they are represented by you in this chamber, because they are Europeans.” [applause]
The people already voted, you blithering moron.
Indeed. But apparently you can betray the majority who actually voted to leave the EU.
You mendacious cunt.
If you think govt here is bad all you have to do is look at everywhere else
Kevin Williamson discusses polling that shows the Green New Deal to be popular. I link it primarily as an excuse to quote an entertaining line from the article:
That nicely sums up the problem with policy-by-poll.
Remember, according to polls Hillary has a 97 percent chance of winning the presidency
Meh, Just because Trump hit the backdoor Straight draw doesn’t mean the odds were wrong.
I don’t even know how to respond to that
Claudio Raineri nods in agreement.
backdoor Straight draw
These euphemisms are out of control.
So, hetero anal?
Way more likely than 3%.
Just because Trump hit the backdoor Straight draw doesn’t mean the odds were wrong.
The odds are always wrong when they are based on bad information.
Granted, and there may well be good evidence that the pollsters fucked up their methodology, the fact that Trump won isn’t one of them. In a one-off event (like a presidential election) unless they were calling it 100% for Hill there is no way to prove or disprove that they had the odds wrong.
Not quite true. They should correctly call “97% chances” right 97% of the time. Even if it’s just a collection of one shots. Likewise, if they have a string of 60% chance events that actually happen, their estimations are also crap.
Probability is problematic when applied to unique events. The methodology used to refine polling can’t properly account for the fact that each election is unique, and truly random sampling is hard to achieve since willingness to be polled, and willingness to answer honestly are not uniform across the political spectrum.
The LA Times got it right. They were to the best of my knowledge the only national newspaper to get it right. This tells me that there was a flaw in the methodology of the other polls.
There were scores of major flaws that have yet to be addressed and wont be any time soon
What baseball league is she in? I could get into baseball if it’s like that.
Got my new pellet smoker. I am stoked to try it out this weekend.
Go on….
It’s a Yoder. I figure I’m going to start with a pork tenderloin, but I’m eager to try it out on some whole chickens.
Which one? I like the look of those. Kicking myself for not getting a Traeger before they fucked over the company twice.
I got the removable diffuser grate so I can reverse sear without doing a full switch out.
I’ve also got some scallops in the freezer, and bacon….
Nice! I was going to do a brisket tomorrow but ill put that off. Instead some Italian Beef will be done
Any here do the 80% lower? State is proposing to ban them, so I’m interested all of the sudden.
Sorry, not ban them. Treat them as a 100% firearm and require background checks and serialization or a complete description (?).
I’ve done a few. Not difficult if you get the jig and have a decent router. Takes a couple of hours. Work slowly and clear the chips frequently and you’ll be fine.
Any brand recommendations? Not even sure I’m going to finish it, just the possible legislation is pissing me off.
Huh. $50 at Brownells. Easy peasy.
I got my lowers and the jig from 80% arms. They’ll even laser engrave it before sending it to you if you need that.
S/N FYTW0001
I would have gone with S/N [random string of letters, sanskrit, kanji, and numbers], long enough to barely fit on the gun. Make it something they can’t type into their databases. When you have to register it, give them a badly handwritten copy.
Thanks Mad!
I have not. A friend of mine has done multiple glocks and ars. He said it was easy, just watch the videos and take your time.
In late but Thot Thursday must go on.
https://thechive.com/2019/03/28/hotness-like-this-should-be-illegal-31-photos/
Thank a THOT today.
Pic #5 was taken one block from my house (I recognized it distinctly). Nothing but old people live there, so I’m wondering when the hell she was there? Maybe visiting grandma?
This old bag needs to be mocked almost as much as Smollet.
An entire article about how one lady who lives next to a park is upset because people who play pickleball in the court nearby are too loud. Not only an article, but count the number of people and the time involved in taking her complaints seriously.
How bout you and your buddy go fuck off?
Women who don’t like to play pickleball are frigid and boring.
We are in a bad place when we are tearing down Racquetball courts and building Pickleball courts. #MAGA never had a chance.
“Pickleball”. I have never heard of such a thing.
#metoo
The Twinkies are a game up on the Indians (with only 161 games to go). I bet Mike has already been online to buy his World Series tickets.
I for one am glad the thumbnail featuring the cute baseball lady returned. Shame the Knights of Malta weren’t there to stop that boat hijacking.
My Italian is rusty. What is the difference between a malta and a shake-a?
One saved Christendom, the other fought the Boers to a standstill.
I had to take a few moments to chuckle. Pretty much what Jarflax said.
+1 swarthy Sicilians.

For some reason I occasionally get phone notifications from Reddit about trending stuff there. These are usually ignored, but knowing how leftist /r/politics is (you can’t even post a link unless its to a MSM source), this one piqued my interest just to see how retarded the comments were.
I was not disappointed. They truly believe Trump so obviously colluded with Russia that its 1984 incarnate to be told that he didn’t. He TWEETED for Russia to intervene on hours behalf then admitted it (and obstruction) on national television! That’s obviously Russian collusion for which he’s obviously guilty, and anyone who says otherwise is Big Brother telling you to ignore your lying eyes.
How can you argue with retardation that dense?
At that point, you just smile and wave.
Looks like Trump is holding a rally in MI now.
Livestream from today’s Glibertarian’s meetup.
He is shockingly neatly dressed for someone that disturbed. And are you calling me paranoid? I thought you were different! I guess the Illuminated Order of the Central Intelligence Committee for State Security of the Greys got to you! Mind Control Twerking videos! WAKE UP SHEEPLE!!!1!!1
#MCGA
Oh….he’s canadian. That explains most of it.
It’s nice to see all the tulpas together.
Try flying.
I don’t know if this has already been linked, and I’m too lazy to look, but Mike Leeactually had me laughing last night.
Also, great pic for the cover.
I was looking for that last night, but my dumb brain kept mixing up Lee with someone else. Thanks, BP.
I could watch that over and over again. Introduced by his good buddy Ted Cruz, Mike Lee eviscerates AOC with deadpan humor. Delightful.
