Just a brief departure from the usual format. First I’ll go over the signs, then show how I applied this SCIENCE! to ensure that I had the best day at the range yet.
Just a couple of alignments to look at this week. First, Saturn-Venus-Sol can translate literally into “Happy Ending” and also good luck for women named Electra. Outdoor grilling will benefit. Jupiter-Luna-Terra indicates a shift in your baseline level of happiness. While this is bad news if you’re currently doing pretty OK, there are some mitigating aspects indicating a general increase in prosperity with this — so a “mo’ problems, mo’ money” kind of situation.
Happy goating to all the Aries out there. It’s not going to be all peachy though, as someone is going to be jealous of your success. Feel free to tell them to suck it. You’ll want to because Taurus still has Mars trying to aggravate it into doing something stupid; but this should be the last week for that, leading to next week being significantly more chill. Jumping across that huge gap of empty sky, we find Jupiter still in Sagittarius, which is pretty boring when finding something to say about it, but is still a really benevolent arrangement. One sign over, we have the equally boring (but this time non-benevolent) Saturn in Capricorn. Finally, Mercury is going forward again and joins Venus in Pisces. Great for those looking for random hookups.
Now, how did I apply this knowledge? Well, first of all Mercury has gone to direct motion so random errors were minimized. Mars in Taurus encourages patience and consistency in martial endeavors, so I spent some time every day figuring out where my errors were in pulling the trigger on my M9. Jupiter (rulership, control, law) in Sagittarius (marksmanship) told me to dry-fire practice daily and to do things “by the book.” Saturn in Capricorn told me not to overthink things and focus on the (curved, like Chronus’ sickle) trigger. The end result? A perfect 100/100 with my CZ and an improvement from 22/100 to 93/100 with the Beretta. See? SCIENCE!
As to what’s in the cards,
Aries: 9 of Coins – Prudence, safety, success, accomplishment
Taurus: The Hermit, reversed – Concealment, policy, fear
Gemini: The Chariot, reversed – Car trouble, riot, dispute, litigation
Cancer: 7 of Wands – Courage, success by strategy
Leo: 8 of Swords, reversed – Disquiet, accident, difficulty, treachery, the unforeseen.
Virgo: Temperance – Frugality, moderation, economy.
Libra: Knight of Swords – Skill, bravery, destruction, war, ruin, wrath, defense, resistance
Scorpio: 2 of Swords, reversed – Falsehood, duplicity, disloyalty
Sagittarius: The Emperor, reversed – Benevolence, immaturity, confusion to enemies, credit
Capricorn: Page of Swords – vigilance, spying, detective work, a weasely bastard on your side.
Aquarius: 7 of Cups – “Fairy favors,” imagination, sentiment, transitory success, significant choice to be made
Pisces: 6 of Wands – Hope realized, good news, victory
Virgo: Temperance – Frugality, moderation, economy.
My ass, Mo money is Mo problems, everyone wants a a piece….
Who is Mo, and why are you concerned about his problems?
He used to be the office manager.
He still lurks…
Yeah, I’m off for the next 3 days. I don’t think any of those are going to apply.
I finishing four days off, glorious drunkenness!
Excellant!
“Outdoor grilling will benefit.”
Yay!

These are going on the grill shortly.
I like your style, dude.
Nice. Been thinking about a 30.
I had one. My pinky would get pinched between the mag and the frame. I ended up getting rid of it.
Good to know.
I hope you’re using charcoal. I find that gas grills are pretty crappy with polymer frames.
Putting a pistol on the grill? Sheesh.
I don’t think that’s where the term “barbecue gun” came from.
I have no room for my hobbies, so I’m working small,

Did you move to Arizona?
No, the world is in turmoil at present, getting better though,
Sorry Yusef. It’s good that things are getting better and I hope they continue to get better.
What DEG said.
Shot placement not important at all
https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2019/03/luis-valdes/caliber-wars-decided-new-york-times-settles-the-9mm-vs-45-acp-debate/
“That rising popularity of larger caliber handguns occurred at the same time concealed carry laws were eased and more law-abiding civilians began carrying firearms. That was a major factor in those plummeting crime rates. More good guys had guns and started to shoot bad guys.
Now, though, the Times is actually defending the Saturday Night Specials that they had demonized back in the day. It is to laugh.”
Yea, the fearmongering over the “Saturday night specials” was wonderful. Because poor people who live in these shitty neighborhoods (and who need the protection the most) should be priced out of the market.
When the price of any other good is out of range for some unspecified number of people, the Left equates that with violating your right to have that good. But for some reason, you’re totally on your own when it comes to affording guns.
It’s all about panem et circenses when you’re trying to control the plebs. Make sure you’re paying people $15/hr. to be a greeter at Wal-Mart but for Pete’s sake don’t let ’em have access to weapons!
What’s good for the gander is good for the goose. Maybe try not being little shits. He originally reached across the aisle, and you spit in his hand.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/feinstein-fumes-as-trump-administration-pushes-forward-with-9th-circuit-nominees-without-consulting-her
This will be the lasting legacy of the Trump administration. This is why it is so important that Clinton lost.
The ‘blue slip’ seemed like a dumb policy anyway. Why should a perfectly qualified judge get rejected for consideration solely because both of their home state’s senators don’t like them?
It seems like a policy designed to keep the judiciary leaning left, given that leftists are known to only consider as qualified (and hire) other leftists.
Particularly when the 9th Circus spans multiple states – so really the blue slip let ANY of those Senators have a veto. Fucking stupid but I guess it was part of senatorial comity.
This right here, is why I might vote Trump in 2020.
The judicial issue was the one that drew Trump a lot of reluctant voters.
Filling the courts with originalists and not the constructivists our law schools are pumping out these days is going to be key to forestalling the collapse for another generation. Hopefully by then the lifeboats will be ready.
I will likely register as a Republican to try to balance out the Dems in this state, and I will likely vote Trump. Not because I particularly like the guy, but because of the judicial picks and because a second term will send a strong, strong message.
I will likely re-register as a R (currently registered as a L) in MD and vote for the Trumpster. Because whoever the dem candidate is, they are going to be full on awful.
I registered R in 2016 to vote for Rand in the primary, but he didn’t even make it to Florida. I did the same for his dad in the oughts, but switched back to L after.
I doubt L is going to nominate anyone good for 2020 (Weld? Srsly?), so I’ll probably vote Trump, or if he does really stupid shit in the interim, either not vote or vote Constitution Party as a FU.
Maryland just managed to void the L registration anyway. So I’m effectively unable to vote. Unless I just go to the polling place and say ‘no hablo ingles’, then I can probably vote at least 6 times. But as for now, I have to re-register. So
I refuse to go back to R, and I might register to vote if there is something worth voting on.
I’m registered “L” for loser. I vote for whatever retard they field. Main reason I vote is to counter the barrage of taxes and spending in the initiatives. I haven’t voted for the winning side in about forever.
I admit that I could not hold my nose hard enough to vote for Barr. So I sat out completely that cycle. Otherwise, yeah, I’m still a near lock to vote for whatever furball the LP coughs up in 2020.
If Team Red wants my vote, run Amash or Massie or Paul.
How come you don’t want to own the libs, OMWC?
As will likely be the L candidate.
because a second term will send a strong, strong message.
The ongoing level of TDS suggests that most did not understand the message the first time.
There has been a lot of mask-dropping from the anti-Trump side. They’ve revealed themselves as outright communists who respond with mob violence when an election doesn’t go their way. They’ve exposed themselves as total hypocrites whose political ideas change based on who is in office.
It’s bad that these things are happening, but they’re just symptoms of an underlying disease, and it’s better to diagnose and cure that disease sooner rather than later.
I did some dry fire practice myself yesterday with my Storm with my iTarget laser and also with a dummy round.
Speaking of the M9, that Langdon Tactical 92 looks pretty sweet
OOOhh! Do you like the iTarget thingie? I’ve been seeing a great deal of their advertising lately.
I’ve only used it a couple of times. The laser works really well. I noticed yesterday that when the target was under a bright light, the app didn’t seem to register the shots as well. I can probably give you a better idea after I use it a few more times and can play with the settings. I’m happy with the purchase for the laser alone. I’ll use that without the target just pointing at random objects as well. Really good feedback.
Thanks, it looks intriguing and I may have to get one. Wifey Amazoned up a couple really cheap Chinese lasers with Weaver mount thingies to use as Tinkerbell in her school production of Peter Pan. They’ve fallen into my hands and have been fun to fool around with.
I had not heard of that system before. Interesting.
I like mine, and so does my son whom I gave one to for his birthday.
All of them except libra seem to apply to me.
Gemini: The Chariot, reversed – Car trouble
Do not need. Had two flat tires in January.
Gemini’s forecast sucks. I don’t want car trouble, disputes, or riots. I want my money back.
OT: grocery shopping done, last load of laundry in dryer, pork butt in the crock pot, dog back home. Jet lag is apparently good for my productivity.
Ummmmm….pork butt:) I did dishes and made some tacos with leftover chicken and carmelized onions, poblanos, and fresnos. A little chedder jack, sour cream, and salsa. Going to hit shower and with go out and watch some basketball or veg at home.
I made the ropa vieja (braised Cuban beef with peppers and onions) recipe from FoodWishes on YouTube, complete with rice, black beans, and fried plantains (along with limeade + rum). Cannot recommend it highly enough. I even reheated some and put it over an omelette this morning.
It’s gonna have to be a regular thing.
Yum. I’ll check it out, thanks!
I’m going to turn some of it into taco salads for lunch, and I’m still deciding what to have with it for dinner. I think butternut squash.
“Ocasio-Cortez doubles down on the threat that earth is facing from cow farts: “We need to innovate and change our, our grain, uh, our, our cow grain from which you know they feed in these troughs. We need to look at regenerative agriculture. These are our solutions””
https://twitter.com/RealSaavedra/status/1111798840250687488
“Regenerative agriculture?” What the hell?
I think she’s having a stroke.
I think you actually need a brain to have a stroke. Must be something else.
3 field system is innovative
My wife saw that last night. We had a good laugh about how revolutionary the concept of growing food in the same place for regular harvesting must be to her.
All modern farming is basically “regenerative agriculture” with the alternative being a hunter-gatherer approach.
Not sure what the figures would even look like. But let’s say your typical hunter/gatherer clan way back when, consisted of about 20 individuals. What size of territory would it take to sustain them year round, year after year, for say 20 years?
Before, during, or after climate change? What kind of deal do they have? Green or brown?
The Bovine Centipede
She reminds me of the awful political appointee that was just raving about how wonderful it was that Venezuela was curbing obesity. This was a few years ago, right after a report was issued showing people were losing weight in Venezuela. I finally said “it’s a measure of human suffering,”. Oddly, we didn’t get the project we were pitching, but my boss said he was fine with that. I’m sure that woman would have been a nightmare to work with.
Oh, so before everyone realized that Venezuela isn’t really socialist but was actually State Capitalism all along.
We need common sense cow grain control.
She is like my boss. She hears about some buzzword program and then spouts it off as if she knows what she is even talking about.
Like AOC, my boss is also an idiot
I can relate to that.
I worked with a guy like that, I’d ask what those words meant, like “pro forma”, and all the latest trendy catch phrases from the sitcoms. He had no idea but he’d heard them and they sounded like big boy talk.
I worked for an guy like that too. He would literally read the inside cover of a book about re-engineering or whatever, then walk around the building talking about it. We called it “traveling light” (on knowledge). As in “Here comes Fred, he’s traveling light today”.
A lot of bosses are about repeating whatever buzz words they heard from their bosses, so they look cool and like they are team players. Most not only have no fucking clue, but often – especially in IT and tech – spout nonsense that really is nothing but ridiculous talk about shit that isn’t real. I hate that kind of fucking idiocy.
Huh, it’s actually a thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regenerative_agriculture
“Regenerative agriculture (RA) is an approach to food and farming systems which aims to regenerate topsoil, increase biodiversity, improve water cycles, enhance ecosystem services, support biosequestration, increase resilience to climate fluctuation, and strengthen the health and vitality of farm soil, by recycling as much farm waste as possible, as well as adding compost material from outside the farm”
Seems like it mainly applies to small farms but not exclusively: “large farms tend to be less ideology driven, and often utilize “no till” and/or “low till” aided by the use of herbicide tolerant genetically modified seed.”
So, crop rotation with a couple other things thrown in.
I think the composting is a big part of it.
Also, tough start for the Dees. Sorry.
I hadn’t heard. Just…wow. The Cats beat their asses. 80 points? Geelong looks like a good team this year, but… 80 points?
it reminds me of a comedian who had a bit in his set. He talked about when boys fight in school, even the loser would usually trash talk ‘I’m gonna get you back, man!’ That kind of thing. Then he talked about getting his ass kicked so badly, he couldn’t muster that: ‘Yeah, you beat my ass, man. I’m gonna walk away now.’ There’s no saving face after that. And it looks like there’s more in store this year.
At least they’re playing Essendon next. Demons might be able to handle them.
Sorry I’m not sure which team is yours, but I thought I remembered you being a Blues fan.
If true, we will probably be able to commiserate this year.
Yeah, Blues fan – going on 30 years now so at least I had some glory years. I don’t expect them to make the finals this year, but they need to improve. General rumor I pick up is that without some substantial improvement (say, 10 wins), their coach is probably gone. They lost by 30 to Richmond then by 16 to Port, so maybe…
You’re right about the Melbourne score: not a shock to lost to Geelong – especially at Kardinia – but 80 points?
Yeah. Standard farming techniques we learned in suburban public school.
Yeah its a thing but she or her handlers heard the term in some glowing light and rather than educate herself (or an actual reporter asking what it is) she comes off trying to sell cold fusion.
She can’t even take care of her district much less save the world.
https://nypost.com/2019/03/30/her-heart-is-not-in-the-bronx-aocs-own-district-turns-against-congresswoman/
They are pissed because they figured they could use her for rent seeking, and now that she is important, she promptly forgot about them? Heh!
AOC brags that she doesn’t have experience as a politician. The whole constituent service thing is lost on her.
If the guy she replaced was smart, he would go around talking to residents in the district. Remind them how well he did the constituent service and how AOC seems focused on herself.
He would probably easily win.
She helped drive 25k good jobs from that region, how’s he ever going to compete with that?
Along the lines of my usual move-the-needle arguments, she seems very vulnerable: those who exult in her #resist showmanship who actually vote are likely outnumbered by people with gentle sensibilities who vote for the nice, tall guy (I’d argue a majority in most races). So, as some are tired of hearing, everyone who has ever wanted to vote AOC has, while the upside potential for those against is unlimited. Disclaimer: I don’t know any of the actual local details that might easily dominate the equation; rather, I’m just generalizing about sensibilities and this one needle-mover.
Constituent service is a real factor, but, after the Libertarian Moment, there won’t be any service and it wouldn’t matter, would it? Unless your service records got lost or your daughter was locked up in Mexico again?
*sigh* That sounds expensive.
Scorpio: 2 of Swords, reversed – Falsehood, duplicity, disloyalty
Clearly you are plotting against me and fear my discovering it!
Curses! Foiled again!
We all are.
I would have plotted against you, but…
Leo: 8 of Swords, reversed – Disquiet, accident, difficulty, treachery, the unforeseen.
…clearly this isn’t a week for me to make plans of any sort.
Leo: 8 of Swords, reversed – Disquiet, accident, difficulty, treachery, the unforeseen.
Oh good. Back to normal life.
I only come for the comments, so not sure what the entire article says. Which sign wrecks more Tesla’s this week and doesn’t sell motorcycle?
That would be Gemeni
Dont forget the guitars
So will Electra get lucky and get a happy ending, or will she get lucky making extra money giving happy endings?
“Libra: Knight of Swords – Skill, bravery, destruction, war, ruin, wrath, defense, resistance”

Yeah, I get it. I’m the weasely bastard.

The resistance shall continue!
So I had a Sunday morning disaster. I was in the kitchen getting a glass out of the cupboard so I could make me a vodka and tonic, when I noticed some water on the floor near the dish washer. So I said to the wifey ‘Hey, why is the floor wet’? So she comes in and opens up the dishwasher which was full of water, and that’s when I realized that is where a small but steady stream of water is coming out of the dishwasher. FUCK! Got some towels and started soaking it up, where the fuck is this coming from? Finally, shut off the water under the sink and it slowed down, then stopped. GD garbage disposal is stopped up. Culprit? I know, potato peels from yesterday. Fuck, fuckity fuck! I’m not working on stuff on Sunday *sits back down, takes drink of vodka and tonic. Doesn’t give a rat’s ass until tomorrow*.
Just got my new fitbit setup though and noticed the BS got my heart rate up to 94. Now it’s back down to 80, needz moar vodka…
That sucks. I had to replace my garbage disposal last year. PITA. Party on Hyp.
Our dishwasher does that all the time. Between that and the macerator in it just kind of sucking because it’s cheap the dishwasher fails to drain more often than not. After wrestling with the drain tube way too much I figured out how to just run the drain cycle, so we wind up doing that repeatedly until it’s finally clear.
Also, every plumber I’ve ever known has told me that garbage disposals are terrible. People not unreasonably put stuff in them they’d think will get ground up, like celery, potato peels, etc., and they get clogged up. They’re pretty much for egg shells and chunky tomato sauce.
We don’t have a disposal (septic system concerns). My wife is very careful to throw all the wet garbage into a bucket for me to complain about emptying every day. Washes dishes before they go in the dishwasher. Have never had a problem , dishwasher is 27 years old, wife a little older.
All that shit goes in the compost for me. I have a little bowl on the counter where I toss fruit/vegetable waste and also empty the drain trap into there, and I dump it in the pile out back every night. Free fertilizer.
Have had this for almost 6 years with no problems at all. But really sucks that the small amount (like 5 medium size potatoes) caused this. Maybe it just decided to break. I’ve had a garbage disposal in every place I’ve lived since the 1980s with virtually no problems.
Isn’t elevating your heart rate a good thing?
Unless you’re at rest. Or if it’s not because of stress maybe?
Anyway, at rest it’s 69 now, so I guess I’m good.
“Gemini: The Chariot, reversed – Car trouble, riot, dispute, litigation”
I’m going to start a riot after some car trouble?
You Florida Man?
Well, all my weasely Bastards seem to be working more against me. I doubt there is an alignment that explains the craziness I’ve been experiencing. I could literally type a Ken Schulzt wall of text and just be getting started.
Was Ken banned or did he just leave?
Dunno. I kinda enjoyed reading his diatribes. Definitely one of the saner ones at TOS.
I can’t remember exactly what it was, but he used to go on with this shit about legalizing heroin that was some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard. Besides that, he was OK.
He ran out of text and there was no more funding for the wall.
We kept giving him shit about his Walls of Text and he left. I don’t remember him every saying anything warranting even a kitten butt.
Well. I’m one of those crazy fringe people who believes that ‘shall not be infringed’ means exactly what it says. And Ken definitely does not believe that. He’s more of a ‘reasonable regulations’ person. So I didn’t get along with him too much. Not that it matters, just sayin.
Not saying he didn’t have a lot of wrong think, but I don’t think he was ever a dick about it like John – just really verbose.
He’s still around. He commented in the latest immigration shitshow:
https://reason.com/archives/2019/03/29/restrictionism-is-the-road-to-fascism-in#comment
Shika is perhaps the worst person they keep on. She is in no way a libertarian she just happens to agree with a subset of Libertarians on a few things, maybe.
Neither is ENB. I mean, you can’t be a libertarian when it comes to whoring, but be a total statist on everything else and no good libertarian freaks the fuck out when you tell them to make you a sammich.

Why the fuck are recipe websites doing autoplay? I’m listening to Spotify, and searching for polenta with olives and cheese recipes, and the first three websites I clicked on turned my Spotify off. It’s fucking rude. It’s the internet equivalent to walking up to a stranger and slapping the earphones off his head.
1st World problems, right?
searching for polenta with olives and cheese recipes
Are you punishing yourself for something?
Punishment? Cheesy grits is a blessing, not a punishment.
Jacques-Imo’s chills, slices, breads, and fries theirs. It’s quite yummy.
Is that worse than scrolling through 17 pages of the author talking about the redolent smells of fall and harvesting pumpkins at her grandpa’s place being the inspiration for the recipe?
Yeah, I hate that shit too. Just make with the recipe, lady. I don’t care about how your Nana taught you how to fold the kitchen towel just so, or how your husband just got back from a business trip, or what a splendid day your family had at the strawberry farm.
OMG Hubby and I and the kiddos were at the coast today looking at the crawlies! It reminded me of the time my BFF Maddie (love ya, babe! xoxxoxo) went to the pear juice festival and
Shut up. I don’t care.
“Virgo: Temperance – Frugality, moderation, economy” OK, I’m boring. I coulda told you that.
OT: Planning a New England road trip this summer. I looked into where in New Hampshire this “Free State Project” was. Ha! Silly me.
Manchester? Not exactly a destination city, but not a bad place to stop on your way to the White Mountains.
No. Don’t stop. Keep driving.
I’m going to look at house today that I might buy. Nice little isolated neighborhood, lots of little kids that I can probably underpay to do scut work around the yard, and none of that city water bullshit. Downside is that I can’t afford to buy it outright and will need 5-7 years to pay it off. The thought of a bank owning my ass makes me deeply uncomfortable.
“Downside is that I can’t afford to buy it outright and will need 5-7 years to pay it off.”
Well, you one percenters…
Hey, he’s looking to underpay the neighbourhood kids, so clearly he doesn’t have orphans of his own.
Someone check his card, sounds like it needs revoking.
Ha! More like 20%. I used to make a lot more and socked away a lot of money each year. And I’m a really cheap and hate spending money. It’s so much more fun to swim in my vault of dimes.
Not having a family really helps, too.
All of my kids are grown and moved out, but I still have a wife with expensive tastes. I just sold the only property I owned, so that helped some. And I don’t spend too much on myself. Mostly just my PC and I just bought a 33K SUV, but besides that? Food, liquor, a few low ticket things…
I think I’m well within the top 15% of income in the USA, so I’m doing OK. I’d like to buy another home, but not in any hurry. I’ll retire in 10 years, so maybe then.
Other than the usual cellphone and internet and car insurance, I have no monthly payment besides rent for my shitty low-end 1br condo.
Of course, I could be like my ex and make damn near 6 figures but still be in debt because of all the goddamn horses. If I could figure out a way to market widgets for 3x the regular price by branding them ‘horse widgets’ then I’d be damn billionaire.
I love this plan.
I hate debt, but using it to opt into a low-risk, less expensive cashflow situation works: you gotta live somewhere.
The media is pretty shameless. I mean, Biden was doing creepy shit right out in the open on camera for years while VP. They all pretended not to notice.
Yeah, but now Biden is maybe running for POTUS and he’s polling way ahead of everyone else. He’s not even close to woke enough for the left and their sycophant media. So they have to do something.
So they have to do something.
All they have to do is stop ignoring what Crazy Uncle Joe is actually doing.
Biden delenda est
Yeah, I heard them bitching about the Don cursing during his MAGA rally. It’s so unpresidential and what will we tell our kids when they get mad that they are told not curse while the president does it? They seem to have forgotten what a big fucking deal Obama care was that one day.
I don’t care if the President swears like a sailor, but c’mon there’s a difference between having a person to person quip caught on a hot mic and openly swearing at campaign rallies. What-about-ism and the hypocrisy card are weak tea to start with but one really should compare apples to apples.
What-about-ism and the hypocrisy card are weak tea to start with but one really should compare apples to apples.
Just quoting this. No particular reason. Just doing it cus…
“Whatboutism” is a problem when you’re using it to excuse present bad behavior. If, on the other hand, you’ve noticed that people suddenly start caring about bad behavior based on the political party of identity of the perpetrator, then you might be seeing hypocrisy. And while hypocrisy in and of itself is just a personal flaw it also is a good sign that the person who suddenly developed a change of heart about issue X doesn’t actually give a shit beyond its use as ammunition in partisan political conflict.
IOW, it’s fine to just not like someone or to be a partisan, but lying about arguing from principles not only makes your immediate argument suspect but implies that you don’t particularly care about principles in general.
Hyperbole is proof that the Devil isn’t sending his best advocates.
“Whataboutism” is a word the Progressives got excited about after spending eight years praising Barack Obama for the same behavior they’d spent eight years excoriating George W. Bush for. It’s great when people have genuine changes of heart about things, and sometimes an election can trigger that. But when you see entire populations of people seemingly changing their positions as if they were networked to a central server at Party Headquarters it’s pretty obvious what they’re really upset about. So if the concept of “whataboutism” is objectionable then the person who’s using the accusation should just understand that the person they’re talking about is really saying that they’re trying to disguise their partisanship with principle and it’s not fooling anyone.
I’m generally underwhelmed by the parties, but the distinctions between 43 and 44 fairly elude me. I always challenged Obama-lovers to show me the differences. On net delivered, you could not prove to a freshly arrived Martian that they were from different parties.
Fine, (Although I would argue that the What-abouting and hypocrisy pointing is almost always at least a deflection tactic), I still say openly swearing at rallies doesn’t equate to a one-off hot mic moment. Thus, In this case, the hypocrisy point isn’t relevant either as a defense or an indictment of ‘them’.
https://althouse.blogspot.com/2019/03/sam-donaldson-wishfully-predicts-that.html
Not only all of this, but he was the fucking vice president at the signing ceremony for a massive piece of legislation. He wasn’t backstage at the Grammys. It was a public spectacle with media all over the place. He intended to say it and under circumstances where it was likely to be heard. It was, in fact actually heard. How do like them apples?
Nope still not comparable, President ≠ Veep, Rally ≠ Signing ceremony, Likely to be heard ≠ Broadcast to be heard. It’s perfectly reasonable to be offended by one and not the other, although one should be offended by neither.
Yeah, NO. That’s like saying saying the teacher should only cuss up a storm in the hallway, not the classroom. It’s one thing to catch her at the bar or at home, another on school grounds in her professional capacity. Anyway we’re quibbling over just ONE example. There’s an ocean of others. It’s plainly TDS to sweat him alone for swearing. The same voices are silent with team blue and freak right the fuck out when it’s Trump.
We’re quibbling over one example because it’s the one you used. That a tribe holds the members of other tribes to different standards then members of their own is neither new nor limited to one tribe. Hence my point about it being weak tea. But Bush! But Obama, But Trump! But Hillary! But Whoever! it’s all meaningless distraction. Saying “they attack Trump for “X” but ignored it when Barry did “X” doesn’t tell us anything about “X”. Is “X” good or bad, should “X” be criticized or praised? all that goes out the window and we just point at each other and say “Hypocrite!” Well no shit, partisans are partisan, I am shocked! Shocked, I say!
And I say “FUCK NO.” we’ve all used expletives and presidents are part of “we’ve.” I am not asserting that team red is above reproach, merely that team blue is presently engaging in a degree of hypocrisy that exceeds all we’ve seen before. Orange man bad is a thing, like it or not.
Now, maybe it’s a natural progression or not. Team blue is willing to imprison the rightful winner of an election for the simple fact that they were denied a win in 2016. Sounds like some Venezuela level banana republic stuff to me. If no one points it out for fear of being tagged “whataboutists” then no one will be pointing it out this time.
a degree of hypocrisy that exceeds all we’ve seen before
nah: no new thing under the sun
I’ve never seen the degree of desperation to unseat a duly elected president in my lifetime. There was hatred and fear of Reagan, Clinton and “W,” but never even close to this. There was none for Obama. It was inverse with him. Remember Mcconnel saying he wanted to make him a one term president. Received like heresy.
Of course, the dead silence when the Obamas did similar is the giveaway that outrage is bullshit.
Trump is a classless ass.
Still better than Clinton or any of the shit the Democrats are getting ready to throw at the wall.
Gotta be honest, I like having a 3 liter box of pinot grigio in the fridge. It was sort of novelty at first, but I’ve grown to love it. Bota Box is good.
Plenty of good wine in boxes these days & that sealed bladder keeps it fresh for way longer than you could do with a bottle.
Sealed bladder. There’s a joke in there somewhere.
Box wine is great. I’m having some right now.
Feel free to tell them to suck it.
Isn’t that Aries (well at least this one) do all the time?
Apparently this motherfucker was afraid to say “what” when he needed to.
Suck it.

Horribad!!!!!
That was fucking awesome, skateboarding in a pool awesome!
“skateboarding in a pool awesome”
I was never a sk8r myself, but plenty of my friends were and those were, in fact, the days.
Hanging out on a blistering NM summer day, drinking 40s of King Cobra the homeless guy had bought for us, running around the desert featured so prominently on Breaking Bad and getting into trouble. How I miss it.
I’m drinking a Cobra now, sk8 days were fun…..
Tall cans!
Tall cans indeed.
Ah, King Cobra. A man of fine taste.
I was a homeless Indian in another life.
Judging from the detritus the homeless leave behind here, all colors of bums love the King Cobra. R&R is the choice out in the villages. Gotta get the most for your money, I guess. It’s terrible stuff, though. We confiscated some that was headed to a dry village and even the underage guy I worked with wouldn’t take it, so it ent down the drain to nobody’s consternation,
Bad assed. Ya’ll ought to be proud. Kinda punk rock with less agnst. Try meth instead of good quality pot.
I skated from about ’78 to ’80. Great times. I was in the northern camp with the Sims/ Santa Cruz people. The one’s who couldn’t afford cameras and mansions with empty pools. We faked it until Endless wave opened in Oxnard. Skated Skatercross, the Upland pipe and a bunch of Valley pools. We didn’t much like the Venice people much. Many skaters became punk rockers, and my hometown invented Nardcore. Grateful to have been there.
I’m a Badland Boy, we rode the original Mt. Baldy pipeline, you still can, its been ten years or so.
Right on. Back then we were poorboys. We’d every once in awhile find a ride to some exotic locale like the upland pipe. We actually hopped trains to Santa Barbara a few times. I had a Jay Adams Z-flex. No matter what I did, my older brother did something better.
It wasn’t that bad, until the vocals.
If you want bad, try this.
Shit, I can top that.
Listen and despair.
Nope. Snivelsteen sucks, but that jesus song…JESUS it’s bad!
Please don’t let them hurt their children by listening to this song….
What blackjack said. Also, I you can ogle Courtney Cock in the video.
I think it was you who said this was the worst thing you’d ever heard when I posted a bunch of shit in response to a post about getting out of your musical comfort zone.
Oh, yeah. Forgot about that.
Your musical links are impressively bad. I bow to your awfulness.
I tried to top Ted in linking to musical awfulness once. Once.
Y’all are pikers. https://youtu.be/0iv4_pgSrok
You may be the Derpetologist of music video.
Well, I gave it a thumb’s up. Gotta say, Q, as a musician you are a brilliant physicist 😉
This,
You’re still a better musician than me.
Slutty Sunday.

I have moved on to the classiest drink the universe has ever seen.
Having run out of orange juice, I’m rocking Cook’s and Coke Zero.
BLAMMO
Tonic water and vodka. Subbing with cachaca.
Dried fruit boiled in water, with cognac.
I need the vitamins.
Well, there goes my bracket. War Fuckin’ Eagle indeed.
3 of my FF teams are gone. Duke is my only hope.
Sad!
“Duke is my only hope.“
Never say those words again
I wouldn’t need to if your fucking team had got it done.
I know ?
Sucks for your bracket but Dook losing is expected (how many games can you win to inferior opponents by 1-2 pts and survive) and means no more heckling from the wife (a Duke fan (not everyone is perfect))
Three of the four guys in your way all had UNC. I didn’t work it out, but don’t you have a shot still?
I’ve been about a lot of things today. Support forums for computer companies have the worst software. Jobs for people fluent in Spanish are posted in English. That time Joe Biden sniffed by balls.
There is also one missing piece from the whole Russian Collusion narrative that no one ever seems to talk about. What if there was collusion? Then what? What could the Russians have done? Unlike the Clintons, Trump wouldn’t have wanted their money. He had plenty of his own. Voting machines aren’t on the internet, so they couldn’t “hack the election”. They don’t own any of the major media outlets in the U.S. They couldn’t fix the debates. There aren’t a significant number of Russian nationals in this country who could vote illegally. Digging up even more dirt about Hillary would have made no difference. So even if the Russians were trying as hard as they can — with Trump’s full knowledge and cooperation — what could they have done that would have changed who won the election?
I had a similar thought about the Facebook issue: regardless of who paid for what ads or bots or whatever, it’s still the voters’ responsibility to assess those influences, same as if they were of legal, domestic content and sponsorship.
False consciousness dude, false consciousness.
We’re all in
Plato’sZuck’s Cave.* googles furiously *
I didn’t recognize “false consciousness” at all. I’m so verbally lazy: I see the technical facets of ideas and tend to remember the model and the math while forgetting the standard names for the very elements in play.
I’m always impressed with those here who remember all that and keep it sorted out. The debates over the true seeds of rights, for example, are thrilling, but I attend them with dictionary at hand. Names, places, and dates are easy for me, and principles and motives are clear, just not properly labeled in my brain.
I’ve thought along similar lines; why would the Russians prefer Trump? They already knew Shrillary was open for business when it comes to corruption. They had already done business with her for Uranium One, why would they sabotage her election?
