Having gotten it out of my system yesterday, I’ll revert to my usual mildly coherent and highly grumpy self for links today. Starting with birthdays (you assholes disappointed me yesterday by not making comments about Dong-Dong): erstwhile-babe Julie Christie; up-and-coming quarterback Baker Mayfield; Deep Purple monster guitarist Ritchie Blackmore; and Nobel-winning chemist and nudist Alan MacDiarmid.
Department of Shoe On Other Foot.
What the fuck kind of place did we move to?
One more reason that I hope Nancy Reagan is roasting in Hell, tormented forever.
Why Norm MacDonald is still the funniest human alive.
It’s stupid, but not as stupid as Korean Fan Death.
Buttplug pisses off Jews, but that’s expected in modern Team Blue.
How’s that gun confiscation program working out for you?
“Don’t say that, you’ll get them angry!
Socialists go capitalist. Hilarity ensues.
CPRM or Pud Paisley? We report, you decide.
Old Guy Music is an extended one, a whole album, and though it’s nominally Charlie Christian, this might be the most remarkable assembly of jazz talent ever. So it’s worth hearing the whole thing.
I hope I dont smell like last night’s beer in church this morning.
As long as you don’t smell like last night’s urine.
Good point. I better wear some different pants.
Bless Norm, that tweet was one helluva spicy meatball.
Sorry for the week or two of silence, I was on a vacation and just spending time with me mum. Hope y’all been doing well and I look forward to spending the slow times at the office catching up on all the takes here.
And damnit, I derped the threading. Anyways, I will pray for your pants to be piss-less and your scent to not be booze-filled while you’re at the Lord’s House.
I don’t know when the next time is that I’ll have slow times at work. 🙁
Maybe everyone else does too, so it’s like onions, and it will cancel itself out?

Greetings from the land of copious plant spooge. It’s The Pollening here in Virginia and everything is coated with a layer of yellow powder. Until it rains and then the gutters and streams look like someone dumped powdered sulfur into them.
Rain is coming… and cold ass weather.
Tempestuous!
It’s raining ice here today, for all the day apparently.
I put down grass seed this week so hoping for rain so I don’t have to water.
Treated grass Friday, perfectly-timed rain here just south of the Mason-Dixon* for the weekend.
Then we’ll be mowing next weekend. Hopefully just a few weeks from getting maters and clematis in the ground.
*which I’ve recently learned is Deep South being 400 miles down from Back Bay
At least they didn’t shoot the dog.
That’s a high bar to set.
Be grateful for small favors.
(you assholes disappointed me yesterday by not making comments about Dong-Dong)
Sorry, I had to keep answering the door.
I was too busy enacting Dong-Dong to talk about it.
“Republican state senator Gail Griffin has introduced HB 2444, the “Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Act.” The bill would require any manufacturer or supplier of any product that provides access to the Internet to block residents of Arizona from accessing adult content. The filters would need to block all forms of porn and “any hub that facilitates prostitution.”
The only way that those living in our fair state could have uncensored Internet access would be to prove they are at least 18 years old and pay a $20 unblocking fee to the state. Revenues from fees would go into a fund called the John McCain Human Trafficking Fund. The fund would make grants for projects that “uphold community standards of decency.” The highest-priority grant would be to help pay for construction costs in Arizona of President Trump’s proposed wall along the US-Mexico border. This seems odd, since McCain criticized the border wall.”
Oh noes, not human trafficking! Why won’t someone think of the children?
Anyway, I’m all for the John McCain Human Trafficking Fund as long as it’s used to smuggle authoritarian assholes to camps in Southeast Asia.
In my dreams, Gail dies in a fire. From her web page:
Apparently not.
Sigh… Stupid Party, desperately trying to live up to its name.
It’s depressingly stupid.
Looking through a list of bills she’s introduced, one finds remarkable restrictions on free enterprise, rent-seeking, cop-sucking, and total disregard of personal liberty.
Go Team Red! Fuck yeah!
Does she represent Scottsdale? She sounds like just the type my dad would vote for.
Coshise County. South of Tucson, north of Mexico
She believes in a smaller government, except where she wants a larger government because people are doing stuff she doesn’t like. And less taxes, unless more are needed to cudgel people who do stuff she doesn’t like into compliance. And in the free enterprise system, except for the “free” part. And personal responsibility, unless those persons are making icky choices she doesn’t like. And …
IOW, a socon in libertarian clothing.
It’s not a tax, it’s a fee. A smart fee!
That’s a Republican webpage template – has nothing to do with any real person.
That bitch looks like a bulldog. I’m guessing she’s just jealous of all those hot bodies writhing in pleasure.
The comments section was surprisingly light on antisemitism.
That’s AZ. It looks kinda freedom-y until you live there. It’s still better than CA, though. I remember a billboard off the 17 freeway that had a picture of uncle Sam and it said “remember , he’s your uncle, not your dad.” Then I got jacked by the pigs 5 times in one year….
What’s a dong dong?
Girl penis
About the porn tax; it’s really a lot like the guy is trolling the moralist morons.
Trolling irresponsible people who can actually enact your deliberately idiotic proposals is a tad irresponsible.
I’m guessing he knows what they don’t – that it isn’t technically feasible and would fall on its face to a 1st Amdt challenge in court. That they are too fucking stupid to get that isn’t his fault.
It would be upheld under the taxing power. Government can do anything if it taxes you to do so.
/Roberts
Yeah, tell it to the arseholes in the Austin ISD who have a school bus camera program that issues $300 fines to the owners of cars, without them needing to identify the driver of the car.
So now I gotta go to court and fight this blatant violation of the BOR and Texas state law — with someone who might decide to find against me anyway, because FYTW.
What?
Its cute when people think we’re still a nation of laws which follows its founding documents rather than an empire of capricious politicians that care only about power at any cost.
You’ll probably be better off paying the bribe.
IT’S FOR THE CHILDREN!!1! How can you talk about “rights” when the childrens’ safety is at stake.
We’ll see how the hearing turns out. IIRC the same company behind this scheme ran a similar scam in Hawaii, and bilking people out of millions of dollars, until some lawyer challenged the failure to identify the driver and the judges started tossing the cases en masse, and the Hawaii Supreme Court ruled the law unconstitutional.
But, you know, the process is the punishment, and no one can reasonably expect some school district hearing officer to know Con Law, or care if it gets in the way of a money grab.
Curious – what exactly was the infraction?
They’re saying that a car in a super low res grainy * black and white * photo passed a school bus on the opposite side of the street when the red lights on the bus were flashing.
The photo of the license plate plate was fairly detailed, though.
Basically, a For Teh Children money grab by a private company paying some of the proceeds to the school district.
That’s interesting – how does that work, that the car photo isn’t distinguishable but the plate is? My son had an incident in Portland when he was in college there (and the car was still registered to me) – that photo was clear enough (though I could honestly say that it wasn’t me driving it!).
If I correctly recall the hearing on the Hawaii van cam fiasco, the camera recording of the traffic has to be low res for data storage, since filming every time the school bus stops eats up a lot of data, while a separate camera takes a single snapshot of license plates, which can be higher res cause just a single frame instead of a movie.
Based on what I’ve read of the AISD bus program, it’s being operated counter to the law and they have no enforcement to back the tickets up. They have no legal enforcement mechanism, you can’t have a warrant put out for you and they won’t deny you registration. The only downside I’ve heard is you can’t get your car registered online and have to go in, in person. It’s basically Redflex shaking down citizens on AISD’s behalf. Don’t acknowledge it and don’t pay it and they can’t do shit.
Hope you can beat that lame ass camera ticket prole. I fought and won on a $500 red light camera ticket this past year. It took a lot of work and they even added 200 to it because they claimed I hadn’t responded. Luckily I sent it by registered mail and had the proof. When I finally got to court over it I asked the cop who was in charge of IDing the driver to tell me if the person driving was a man or a woman and approximately how old they were. Ticket dropped.
Thanks! I’ll use that question in the hearing. Possible the officer won’t show.
I’ll ask about ethnicity, too, cause African-American wife.
“The Eau Claire Police Department said on social media that the officers responded to a call that a woman, Lisa Smith, 46, and her dog “Bo” shoplifted items from the store. The woman’s son, 26-year-old Benny Vann, was causing chaos in the store as well.”
She’s 46? Holy shit!
Meth is a helluva drug, but that has to be a typo.
“The dog tried to flee the crime scene, albeit unsuccessfully, with a box of Jiffy Cornbread Muffin Mix in his mouth.”
I larfed.

“It would appear that shots have been discharged from a car in this area into a crowd standing outside,” inspector Andrew Stamper told the media.
We can’t be certain.

Played Euchre last night with our favorite neighbors – wine and whiskey and Michigan’s legal plant product made for a nice buzz. Plus I managed to “go alone” and pick up all 5 tricks.
It’s too bad the neighbors are so damn liberal; I make sure to never broach politics unless I’m making a MAGA joke.
And that’s the thing that someone else – Don? – mentioned: I end up liking stereotypical “liberal” things – art, music, and even the cities (for shopping) but don’t really like a lot of the people as a (broad brush here) group. It’s like “they” understand self-expression, just not necessarily the “wrong” ideas.
I like a lot of conservative folks, we can shoot, hunt, fish and as long as we don’t talk religion, it’s all good.
Face it, neither one of us really likes other people.
Self-expression is all well and good until someone engages in wrongthink.
I like craft beer, foodie stuff, and alt music so I often find myself surrounded by hipsters. I try not to feel too superior but it’s hard.
Zippy- stupid then, stupid now.
So no, you’re not having fun yet.
I still use this one in class.
Bill Griffith and I were both on the staff of a humor magazine in San Francisco in the early 90s. He got to be something of a friend for a short time. If you think the comic is weird, you should spend five minutes speaking with him!
Still love Zippy, though. Agile Cyborg level non-sequitors.

Self-expression for some, STFU for others.
>>One more reason that I hope Nancy Reagan is roasting in Hell, tormented forever.
A few years ago they rolled out “random” drug testing – along with tobacco!. The latter to make sure we weren’t lying on our “tobacco free” form which got us a lower insurance rate. By some crazy coincidence, they picked me – and only me – in my department. I was clean at the time and passed easily but it still pissed me off to be treated like a criminal since who cares if I smoke MJ on my off-hours?
Anyways, since that test and 4-5 years later, no one else in my department has ever been selected for a test. And I’ve never heard any of the office people getting them; just the workers on the floor. Maybe they’re afraid of losing office drones and pulled the idea? Dunno. But they never announced it. I decided to say fuck it and take the risk.
We have it on initial hire and the threat is always there, but I’ve only heard about it being used once in 20 years and it sounded like it was a personal vendetta from a falling out between two chicks. The girl who was ordered to take the drug test passed.
Somebody floated random testing at my office. I asked them if they were ready to defend disparate impact and civil rights cases when we fired minorities for pissing dirty. It was never raised again.
Bravo – turning evil to good. That is some mighty fine lawyerin’.
And he got 10 billable hours for that comment!
One more benefit of tenure…if someone asks me for a urine sample, I tell them to open wide and say ahh.
“Returns and return information shall be confidential …”
“(f) Disclosure to Committees of Congress
(1) Committee on Ways and Means, Committee on Finance, and Joint Committee on Taxation
Upon written request from the chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the House of Representatives, the chairman of the Committee on Finance of the Senate, or the chairman of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request, except that any return or return information which can be associated with, or otherwise identify, directly or indirectly, a particular taxpayer shall be furnished to such committee only when sitting in closed executive session unless such taxpayer otherwise consents in writing to such disclosure.”
Sooo … it’s confidential, except if Congress decides it’s not, and they act in secret. And then trust that partisan politicians won’t find a way to leak such confidential information.
Here’s another unambiguous thing: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
That tax return isn’t YOUR paper – you ‘gave’ it to the govt. Granted, with assurances of confidentiality (under the law in question).
Trump has exactly one reason to keep this all so quiet – his brand would suffer severe damage from people finding out his wealth is a Potemkin village.
“Trump has exactly one reason to keep this all so quiet”
Actually a better reason is it’s another opportunity to tell the left to go fuck themselves which pumps up his base.
This is Trump’s version of Obama’s birth certificate.
Right? Holy jeebus, these guys obviously didn’t learn from any of that.
They learned to double down!!!
This. I think the Trump team realizes that as long as the Dems are focused on this they won’t focus on other things.
his brand would suffer
It’s really hard to imagine by what means: whose rationalizations would change?
Fair point – maybe mostly in his own mind?
Furnish them on paper, don’t allow anyone to make or keep copies. I don’t see anything in the statute that says anything different.
As we adopted national policies which incorporated ever greater levels of socialism, our futures started looking more bleak than our parent’s futures did at our age. Clearly the answer is pushing more socialism.
Shouldn’t this be a free service anyway? How socialist is it to charge $10/mo to users? They sold just raise millions from left wing investors who want to virtue signal and never charge or advertise. Lead by example!
“Our SOCIALISTIC future is guaranteed to be worse than the future of our everyone (at our age), which is essentially the case now,”
Required a little adjusment
Hey man, we need MORE government to fix the problems the government practically caused. It’s simple, really. I’m sure some newface will get it right eventually.
Eventually, a combination of limitless fusion power and super intelligent AI will eliminate scarcity. The newcomer that will be capable of implementing socialism properly won’t be human.
Technically not limitless, as there is a finite number of atoms in the universe. That, and the eventual heat death of the universe.
Until that AI reverses entropy for us.
I see you’ve been reading Iain M. Banks. The ship Minds are the ultimate Top Men.
Iain never explained why the AI Top Men would be benevolent or socialist. But, yeah, those novels sure hand wave away the scarcity problem of socialism.
Science “fiction”.

I still miss Newsworld International.
“Our future is almost guaranteed to be worse than the future of our parents (at our age), which is essentially the case now,”
I distinctly remember hearing the exact same thing–repeatedly–when I was a teenager in the ’70s.
Huh, that’s odd – I was told the same thing when _I_ was a teenager in the 80’s.
The sky is perpetually falling. It’s so convenient.
I would like to know what their parents did for a living.
They seem to be doing alright – better than most.
It can be lucrative acting like a couple of left-wing parasites with faux-righteous ideals.
What I find funny is that they see other niche streaming services (Vet) and decide they can do this too without understanding why the others may be successful. They really don’t get why Fox News or Limbaugh are popular. They don’t realize that they really found a niche that wasn’t served, and when they try to make a left wing niche they are competing with CNN and MSNBC.

Preparing for the thing which is least likely to occur
Active shooter drills have become more common as school gun massacre after massacre has made headlines. The drills give teachers and students a blueprint to follow during emergencies, which may save lives. Forty-two states have laws requiring some sort of emergency or safety drills in schools, many of which are designed to protect against active shooters, according to the nonprofit Education Commission of the States.
But there is hardly any research on the drills’ effectiveness, and while there are some federal recommendations, there is no standard template for schools to follow in terms of how to do them, how often to conduct them and how to explain them to students of different ages.
How can we keep these kids safe without a federal handbook of procedures?
The whole thing is infuriating. Let’s teach an entire population to be cowering pussies. It might come in handy some day.
They want to give the impression that’s its common.
Fear mongering to spread support for gun control.
It’s “working” exactly like that, if my son’s reaction to the bloody thing is common.
duck and cover
Just what I was thinking.
Cowering pussies are easily controlled. They’re not very good at repelling invaders, though.
We could use a good war to toughen us back up. Not one of these made for TV overseas military adventures, a legit war that actually threatens the homeland. Like if everyone here illegally revealed themselves to be part of an invading army and sacked some major cities.
It’d suck majorly, but my mom always said “no pain no gain”.

“Our future is almost guaranteed to be worse than the future of our parents (at our age), which is essentially the case now,”
MY father went from farming with horses as a child to trading stock options on a computer. I don’t think I’ll beat that. I lose no sleep over it.
You don’t want to become American nobility by getting elected to public office to “serve” the people?
My dad talked about having to eat field corn during the depression.
“What’s so bad about eating delicious corn?”
/Some city hipster who’s never taken a bite of field corn and spat it back out.
Most of us say “sweet corn” when we mean human chow that’s harvested while soft.
By “field corn” we mean industrial corn: cow chow or syrup stock. It is dry and hard before it’s combined; you could make a mash out of it, definitely edible, just not a pleasant and tender. A large fraction of farmed commodities like corn are managed with futures, so the farmer’s delivery might well be delayed to fit his spot date; until then, deer allowing, it might just stand in the field for weeks.
Or, as John Madden put it during one Packers broadcast, “Hey Pat, did you know there’s two kinds of corn? I didn’t know there was two kinds of corn. But yeah, they told me around here they have eatin’ corn and feedin’ corn.” He did not mention popcorn though.
Oh yes. The best part is when the same hipster passes a field and the farmer plants said field corn deliberately next to the road.
“Hey, lets grab a corn!”
I remember my dad at my age, because I was 20 when he was 40. He’d retired on disability from the PG County Sheriff’s Department and had moved down to some family land outside of Birmingham. This was maybe two years before my then-stepmother raked him over the coals in a divorce and took half of his shit, leaving him in dire straits and I genuinely believe nudging him into the slowly self-destructive alcoholic spiral that would end his life six years later. On the other hand, I’m gainfully employed, making about as much as he did with fifteen years fewer time in my position, working on an MBA and generally getting by if not thriving financially. In about two years I’ll be in a good position to buy a second house and move to a better area without, as in my dad’s case, having to play to extended family’s nostalgia to get a almost criminally good deal on land. In net terms, I’m pulling ahead, I’d say.
#MeToo
I was able to recognize advantages that weren’t available to my parents. My kids never availed themselves to the same advantages, even with my encouragement. My grandchildren, on the other hand, see the results of their parents initiatives (or lack there of) and have decided to apply themselves in what looks like a more successful mode.
My grandparents were share-croppers. When my grandmother was 11, she only had to pick half a bale a day because she was a girl and had to leave the field early to go make lunch for all the men. The most important job I have is make sure my kids never touch a damn boll.
The NRA and gun industry would like the pre-emptively thank the Democratic presidential candidates for bringing a temporary end to the Trump Slump next year.

Imagine if TEAM BLUE wins and the folks buying guns say they’re resisting.
THAT’S DIFFERENT!11!1!!11!!

Eventually, a combination of limitless fusion power and super intelligent AI will eliminate scarcity.
I read that as “eliminate society”. I like my version better. C’mon, Skynet!
It kinda could actually. At that point, every person could probably effectively be their own sovereign nation with a robotic hoard to do their bidding and protect them from threats.
Well, if you do eliminate society you will eliminate anyone being impacted by scarcity.
I’m rooting for SMOD myself but I think we’re on the same page.
If fusion power is possible, then ASI would be able to figure out how to do it.
Fusion power, available in 13 years ! Oh, shit!
Charles Stross’ “Saturn’s Children” has as a backstory the humans eliminated and replaced by robots. Doesn’t say HOW the humans got eliminated. I’m guessing not quietly.
I like the version where everyone stops showering and only associates with self-repairing sexbots, such that the human race fades away by essentially spanking it into irrelevance.

It’s nice to see so many sane comments in that article with those two socialist nitwits.
“…A young Detroit couple who helped controversial New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez win election last year as a democratic socialist are now launching a pro-socialism media company from their house on the city’s east side.”
That they think this a shining moment in their lives is all you need to know.

Absolutely

Well, she’s right about that.
” their house on the city’s east side.””
They’ve already moved on up so now they are just sharing their fount of wisdom.
I wonder if the east side of Detroit has any deluxe apartments in the sky.
What a splendid idea. What could possibly go wrong?
There is every reason to think that sunlight served the desired purpose. One important piece of evidence is that wealthy Americans absolutely hated the disclosure law, and soon persuaded Congress to execute a U-turn.
Almost a century later, it’s time to revisit the merits of universal public disclosure. Democrats in Congress are fighting to obtain President Trump’s tax returns under a separate 1924 law, written in response to related concerns about public corruption. That issue could be resolved, at least in part, if Congress embraced the broader case for publishing everyone’s tax bill.
Now as then, disclosure could help to ensure that people pay a fair share of taxes. Americans underpay their taxes by more than $450 billion each year, more than 10 percent of total federal revenue. Publishing a list of millionaires who paid little or no taxes this year could significantly reduce the number of millionaires who pay little or no taxes next year.
Let’s make everybody’s taxes public. That way, we can denounce and shame our enemies. Nobody will ever steal from the Treasury again.
What a bunch of goddam retards.
ensure that people pay a fair share of taxes
Says a person quite sure that he is paying his fair share, if not too much.

NBA playoffs wohooo . Who had money on the magic or nets? Also maybe someday some glib can explain to me what a spread is and how to beat it
The only way to beat it is to not play it.*
*Excepting a few dedicated and disciplined pros.
Sorry.
The spread is the predicted difference in scores between two competitors in a sports game. If the bookies feel that team a will win by five over team b and you bet on team a, they must win by 6 for you to get paid. Winning by 5 is a push or tie.
If you be on team b you can lose by up to 4 and still get paid.
It is a method of evening up the dollar amounts bet on each side.
Sports books make the money on what is called “the juice”*. That is a 10% surcharge that all losing bettors have to pay.
With some exceptions when a book feels very strongly about a particular situation and will take a position itself.
I thought everybody paid the vig, in that even-odds bets will be something like -105 (wager $105 to win back your wager plus $100), so that they pay out $205 on every $210 wagered.
That’s my impression, but I’m no expert. At the online book I use that’s the case, though. It’s why you never see exactly even odds; at – 105 you’re getting even money with a 5% vig to the house. The odds are calculated such that 5% or so is coming out for the house before the rest of the money is paid, in a sense.
That’s called a money line bet.
It is different from the point spread.
Also, the spread is meant to divide the bets evenly on both sides, so the vig Bill & OneOut discussed goes to the house
Hmmm mkay… It is easier in Europe for football you just bet on who wins and lose because it is a 0 0 tie
A spread is an assortment of food put out for a party, and if you don’t know how to masturbate at your age I don’t think I can explain it.
So, moneyline betting is when you bet that one or the other team will win straight up. Those odds can be pretty extreme. Spread betting essentially handicaps the game by “giving” points to the underdog to bring the odds closer together and attract bettors. When you see something like “+6.5” that means that if you “take the points”, you’re betting that team will stay within 6.5 points of the other team, win or lose. The other side is “covering the spread”, which means that you’re betting that team will win by at least 6.5 points. The .5 is there typically to avoid a situation where the spread is in the middle, so to speak.
To clarify . If a bettor takes the points, bets on the underdog to win, the can win by more than 6.5 and it is still a winning bet.
Oh, goody. Meet the Press is going to delve into Barr’s unsubstantiated “spying” claims.

Chevy salesman suspected of kidnapping disabled customer, stealing $200K
“The reports say the employee threatened the customer with death. Furthermore, the customer was forced to smoke crack.”
I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere.
Sort of on the same topic. I’ve always thought most car salesmen were shady. However, recently I’ve noticed they’re dumber than ever. We’re helping my in-laws purchase a Suburban, because their small town dealer doesn’t have much for inventory. We’ve gone to 3 dealerships in town and in all cases the sales person couldn’t answer basic questions. It’s bad when my wife knows more about the vehicle than the salesman
I’ve noticed around here none of the dealerships put the price on the windshield anymore. Maybe they think that will get people on the lot, but if I don’t see a deal I’m not going on the lot.
We know exactly what we want. My in-laws have had suburbans for years. Called two dealerships asked them to cut the bullshit and give us the best offer. In both cases they gave us the “let us run this by our manager and he/she will give you call back”. Get a call back and they insist we come in so they can get a better understanding of what we want. To which we told them to fuck off.
Internet sales will eventually put them all out of jobs. Can’t come soon enough. Order online and have it delivered.
Yep. Carvana and the like will get them back to restaurants, assuming where they live doesn’t have the $15 min wage.
Always have to run the offer by the anonymous sales manager that you never see. Said Sales Manager then counters your offer with something higher but still lower than the original price. Salesman says he can’t do any different.
Time to get up and walk away, salesman then wants to try the sales manager again, just to see if he’s willing to make a deal with the saleman’s newest best friends.
I saw a 2018 Suburban for $50k yesterday, but I think you can beat even that down some; of course you don’t have choices with last year’s inventory.
Consider the 2500 or HD or whatever they call the beefy version now and the 6.2.

Step 1: Random political hack from a remote part of the state sponsors idiotic bill
Step 2: Word of the Idiotic bill gets to the media.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Bill goes nowhere but the rest of the country gets to think we’re stupid.
Because only good bills come from urbanites?
No. Those bills are far less random.
Political hacks*
Whatever. You get it. Their idiotic bills also go nowhere but get no attention.
“Mr. Speaker, I’d like to tack on a rider to support the preverted arts!”
Yeah, I do. We get some crazy ones here, too. The good thing is that NoDak is generally ignored, so most of them don’t get much attention.
Finally clicked on the article (I’ve been busy!) and yep, this was tried in North Dakota, too. There’s a group of super-nannies trying to get this passed around the the nation. It got laughed out of the legislature here. IIRC, it never made it out of committee.
She’s not quite a random hack, she’s Team Red (majority) whip.
And in all fairness, she’s the sponsor of this amendment banning tickets from photo radar.

That’s not OK.
Translated into plain english means I talk and not only do you listen and not say a word, you will do as I say.

I think my dad got his last car at one of those no/minimal haggle Carmax-type places. They even brought what he wanted in from another store in some other state, if I remember correctly.
I gave a local guy my price range, the make, model and mileage I’m looking for and he’s looking around. He goes to auctions all the time, he finds one that fits my specs he’ll get it for me.
Why should citizens have the means to defend themselves when we have cops to protect us.

“Man arrested after boy falls from balcony at Minnesota’s Mall of America
(Reuters) – A 5-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries on Friday after being thrown or pushed by an apparent stranger from a third-floor balcony at Minnesota’s Mall of America, and a man who fled the scene has been charged with attempted homicide, police said.
The child was rushed to a hospital after officers and passersby provided aid at the scene, Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said. His condition was not immediately known.
Shortly after the incident, police arrested a 24-year-old man inside the mall, one of the state’s leading tourist attractions, after he had fled the scene, Potts said.
The suspect, Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, who is from the area, was charged with attempted homicide, police said in a statement.”

If he was thrown or pushed, he didn’t fall. It supposedly happened in Minnesota, but the picture is a black guy? Fake news!

Did they file jointly while married? where are her tax returns!?
Because a cursory review of publicly available information supports Omar and therefore a more detailed investigation is not needed and if we dig deeper we are afraid the accusations are true and that can’t happen.
