Good morning my Glibs and Gliberinas! And what a glorious morning it is for politicos as Barr is set to give testimony to the Senate today and the House tomorrow. On the eve of his testimony, the Washington Post dropped an article claiming that Mueller sent a letter to Barr being critical of Barr’s memo. The usual weasels took advantage of this interestingly timed news drop. Considering the Mueller report was released and had light redactions, anyone can compare Barr’s memo to the actual report and make their own determination, it is odd that a news story like this would drop on the eve of Barr’s testimony. It is almost as if the media and Democrats are trying to muddy the waters ahead of Barr’s testimony.
Assange is sentenced to 11 months for skipping bail.
Portlandian communist authoritarians flooded the law firm of a lawyer who represented ICE’s union.
Probably, but Trump will call Buttigieg “Buttgag” and will proceed to win 40 states.
Insanity from yesterday’s coup? Uprising? Revolution? Whatever the fuck.
That’s all I got for today. I’ll leave you with a song and move along with my day.
Buttgag has nothing on Biden’s new slogan – Make America Moral Again! That’s right folks, his campaign slogan is literally MAMA. I can’t make this stuff up.
First? First!
Fist!
Y’know it took me awhile to cotton on to what what that Tool song was really about but then I got worser.
This may hurt a little but it’s something you’ll get used to. Relax, slip away.
You listen to Tool?
::grabs the beer and heads for the exit::
Big fan, have been for twenty-odd years. Still have a few tunes on my work rotation. How fucken old do you guys think I am? Jesus.
Tool has been my favorite band since I was about 12 years old.
One of the only things adult me agrees with adolescent me on.
Not as old as me?
MAMA…oooooh, any way the wind blows, doesn’t really matter to Joeeeeeee.
Where’s my oft requested and often answered “Bum Slappin’ Gif”?
Festus… I think that’s a no.
*Farnham voice* “But how have I given offence?”
That looks suspiciously like a ban hammer.
Nah, that you never see coming…
/Tebows towards SP
I am not certain that would actually hurt that much. It seems the blocks displace the force of the hammer and break apart, which doesn’t transfer the force to the, uh, crotch area. Am I wrong?
Only one way to find out for sure! Here put on these goggles, then lie back and think of England
Hey, that’s a killer tune for when Joe is cruising in his Trans Am!
Still one of my favorites from when the Onion was funny.
Yep. Classic, just like Joe’s sweet decal!
Perfect because everyone knows at least one guy who is exactly like that – and it’s easy to picture Biden as that guy.
We kind of stole that bit (a bit).
The Onion is still funny, it’s just that they produce so much content now that the good stuff sometimes gets lost in the shuffle.
He’s a mooch, he’s a mooch will he jump in Bernie’s van though ♫♪♪
Thunderbird and Lightning, very very frightening…
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot on the other hand…
MAMA was the fake Falwell’s organization in the Dragnet movie – the Moral Advancement Movement of America.
It was also a rather weird Genesis song.
Skipping bail? I thought we were gonna give him life for dissing our Top Men.
That comes later, Comrade.
>>Portlandian communist authoritarians flooded the law firm of a lawyer who represented ICE’s union.
So, criminal conspiracy charges?
The mayor could be in some deep shit over this. He held the police back under the pretense that the feds have their own police. But the feds are expressly prohibited from enforcing state and local ordinances. This could get interesting.
Only if Trump wins a second term and even then you might have bigger fish to fry.
Why a second term? It’s not like Trump needs to worry about public reaction to prosecutions in Oregon.
I’m thinking that the wheels of justice grind slowly and if he’s ousted most of this just floats away into the aether. What do I know, IANAL or a Citizen, just an interested observer.
“However, we believe that the human misery perpetrated by the CIA, IRS, various departments of correction, etc., are just peachy.”
I’ll add the EPA to that list.
The list of misery they push is long and never ending. They have outlawed everything from toilets, light bulbs, gas cans, to you name it. The price of everything probably is 20% higher because of it. Poor people are suffering in unknowable ways from all this. But, they already vote (D) so who cares? Amirite?
And the ATF.
Dept of Ed
DEA, FDA.
Nobody gonna mention the teacher’s union?
Good point. Of all the government agencies that thrive on human misery they pick one of the smallest that enforces immigration laws? Really? ‘Cause the IRS targets EVERYONE, citizen or no.
“Our goal was to cause maximum economic damage, ”
Your honor, what my client meant was…
Really setting themselves up for the future civil case.
They probably saw the Smollett thing and thought they could lefty their way out of trouble, brazenly forgetting to never piss off lawyers.
Nobody ever said anarcho-communists were bright.
Like they have any money to be sued for.
They probably don’t have any assets worth going after, but should be sued anyway so they will have that judgement hanging over them. Between that and non-dischargeable student loans they will never own houses, etc. Good.
Do the insurance companies get to sue them for the claim they paid out on this?
Yes. They will get an assignment from their insured guy and go after them (subrogation).
I sure hope the insurance companies do so if only to set the precedent that there will be financial repercussions to this sort of criminal behavior committed under the pretense of fighting for justice. Hitler’s brown shirts and Lenin’s red shirts at least owned the shit they did. These cowards have to hide behind doing it for justice.
Yes. They will subrogate their insurance, and if they have no insurance, get a judgement against earnings, future earnings, etc.
Social Justice will be if these asshats are left homeless and have to resort to offering hand and blow jobs to people on the street to earn a living.
Kind of makes me wish for the days when insurance companies would pay Pinkertons to go break heads as part of their loss control efforts. I bet whoever insured that building is going to smash some heads in court.
I don’t think the left wants to dance the dance of attacking people who promulgate the Leviathan.
Or set the precedent for attacking lawyers for providing legal defense to unpopular clients.
You mean like, oh, I don’t know…commie-anarchists?
When it is their guys, it is providing justice. When it is the other guy’s people, it is fighting injustice…
I couldn’t tell if that picture was an antifa protest or the Portland Timbers supporters group on their way to a match.
“Portlandian communist authoritarians”
Thank you for not calling them anarchists
law firm of a lawyer who represented ICE’s union.
I’m not going to get too worked up when a the homes of the families of the bunch of Black Block kiddies get no-knock raided in the middle of the night on suspicion they were harboring traffickers.
Hmmmm… these are just the sort of people who would take in “refugees.”
The one redeeming quality of bad things is that they sometimes happen to people who deserve them.
Portland is a weird ass place. They have homeless in tents downtown, but they’re in a little setting with rocks and pine trees so they look like they’re actually camping. The bums look like an ad for Coleman products.
Our bums camp off in the thickets where they belong.
Yeah, our bums camp on the sidewalks. Once one of them makes it two or three days, they’re joined by more until the whole block is filled with ratty assed tents and beat up vans. It’s shameful that nobody chases them out of town, but they enable massive spending and tax increases so the pols love them.
“It’s shameful that nobody chases them out of town”
And export your problems elsewhere to people who did nothing to you. Granted, some cities, particularly sunbelt cities, attract the hardcore homeless.
No, they should go out into the wilds if they’re gonna live like that. it should be unacceptable to pop a tent in downtown and sully up a whole block with a drunken bum party for months at a time. If you reward them with defacto property, you will get more of them ( self evident, at this point.) Giving up and being a bum should carry some guilt and not be accepted as just another lifestyle.
“into the wilds”
Meaning what, exactly?
I live in one of the populous areas of the US. If you go ten miles north, it wide open mountains and desert. That’s what I mean. Sure there no one there to panhandle from, but I don’t object to long term camping out there. As it is now, resident and business owners who work hard and pay money to be there are suffering badly because of all the bum fights and street crapping. Go do it in the woods, assholes.
Mount Hood national forest perhaps? Camp free, just need to move your site every 14 days.
Nope, no specifics at all BJ. Ten miles north of an unspecified area. Yes, that gives the rest of us an exact idea what you mean. Try using numbers, Beej. Things like population density. Or legal definitions like “unincorporated areas” (ie, not within town or city limits). You know, the sort of things one could put in a law and have courts actually be able to interpret it.
I didn’t realize you were looking for an actual place. I’m willing to say city limits. No urban camping in city limits. I really think these homeless fucks should just apply a sense of courtesy and not fuck with people on their own. Failing that, I have no qualms about chasing them out of the city limits. Get a fucking job and buy or rent some land if you want to occupy prime real estate, otherwise go out where no one else has to smell you.
“I didn’t realize you were looking for an actual place.”
No, I wanted you to produce a DEFINITION that others could interpret. I was very clear on that point.
“No urban camping in city limits.”
Whoa, an actual definition, once you got past the petulance.
So, Beej, city dwellers have rights that people in towns or counties don’t have. And certain classes of people have rights to be on public property in certain areas, but not others. Yep, totes libertarian, bro.
Not all homeless are panhandlers, and not all panhandlers are homeless. And as noted below, a lot of the hardcore homeless are veterans with mental issues and often have disability income.
At one time vagrancy was a crime, ie it was a crime to not have a place to sleep. That was also the time where it was super easy to involuntarily commit someone with mental issues. This led to an incredible abuse of civil rights, and a conspiracy of government employees (mental health folks, especially asylum staff) to keep people incarcerated.
Yo, BJ, you know our favorite phrase here, “fuck off slaver[s]?” Yeah, that was coined by this homeless vet who used to post here, JSubD. He posted from the public access terminal in his local library. And I believe he had some sort of disability, so was probably not your panhandling sort. Something inside him was severely broken and he just couldn’t handle the whole not being a street person thing. I consider that that person earned the right to sleep in a public park or under a bridge.
Obviously, there’s a range of homeless types. I know a few vagabonds from the motorcycles scene. They would never take over a city sidewalk and piss nad crap all over the place. They have a little bit of respect for others. They don’t try and sleep on some one’s lawn. I’ve been home less my self as a teenager. I bought a van and drove it out of town to sleep. Take a look at downtown L.A. or S.f. and tell me these behaviors are acceptable. They ain’t. Yeah, I’ve known cool homeless people, but NONE of them would ever consider doing what these people are doing, period.
>>I bought a van and drove it out of town to sleep.
Down by the river?
I consider that that person earned the right to sleep in a public park or under a bridge.
Honestly, I wish they would bring back the term “hobos”. It captures a distinction versus “bums” that I think we’ve lost. My grandfather had a small farm in the 1930s. I remember my dad telling me stories about them hiring hobos who’d essentially come up to the house looking for day labor work. Mostly, they just wanted a little bit of cash and a hot meal.
Yeah. Once I was gassing up my motorcycle at a friends gas station. A homeless guy started scratching some kinda graffiti into the window of the booth. I yelled at him to stop (and called him an asshole.) he turned around and ran at me with the knife he was scratching with. We kinda puffed up our chests at each other until I backed down a bit and left. Probably a kindly misunderstood vet, I’m sure. If any one wants more stories about how the homeless go out of their way to seek sympathy from me, I have plenty. There was a lady that got stabbed to death because she took a picture of a homeless asshole who demanded money for it and she said no. That happened on Hollywood blvd like last year.
So, yeah, we should tolerate whack job bums setting up camp all over town and pissing and shitting on our sidewalks, slamming dope in the park and stealing everything they can get their hands on, including the wiring from vacant houses, just on the off chance it’s a noble, kind hearted vet. Sounds legit.
My grandfather would do that. He didn’t have a farm, but he’d find something for them to do. The important thing was that there was work involved. They didn’t want a handout.
…chase them out of town….to the Soylent Green plant.
Outta sight outta mind because nobody wants to actually see how the sausage is made. That’s the precise, logical Swiss thinking we need more of around here!
Soylent is a thing now. They just trick people into thinking it’s veganish:

:Prepares million dollar pitch to Colman’s marketing team:
While the homeless probably give them a measurable percent of tent sales, it’s not a market they want to court. “Oh, look, that’s the same type of tent the bums downtown have. Let’s spend the extra twenty and buy Billy another brand for his scout campout.”
I’m beginning to wonder about the correlation between bad homeless populations and amount/quality of craft breweries in a city. Portland and Denver are both known for both. San Francisco has the homeless, and a middling craft scene. Seattle though has homeless but no big craft scene that I’m aware of. Cleveland, Grand Rapids, Chicago all have craft scenes, but no huge homeless camps.
Being homeless in Michigan during the winter season is a little difficult. There have been attempts to start homeless camps in GR but the police used to tear ’em down. Not sure about now – EF would have to weigh in since she works downtown.
I’d think the same thing about Denver, but at least when I was there in October, there were huge homeless encampments in the downtown area.
I’m pretty sure Clearwater is kept pure by roving bands of Scientologists.
What, people tell them there are Thetans in the tents?
Remember that time in Stranger in a Strange Land when the Martian church bought a hotel in a sleepy little resort town in Florida? The Scientologists own pretty much all of downtown Clearwater. And yes, there are literally roving bands of them all dressed like flight attendants. Or.. cabin crew? I don’t know what the people who deal with the cattle on airplanes call themselves anymore.
I thought it was the Hari Krishnas that started dressing like flight attendants and pilots so they could again invade airports and pester people with their little drums and that crappy music?…
I think that’s the “Sea Org”. They used to check in regularly at a hotel I worked in downtown Buffalo. They dress like Starfleet admirals.
+1 grok what you mean
Heinlein knew Hubbard. There is a persistent rumor that LRH invented his cult as the result of a bar bet with RAH.
That rumor was part of the plot of Niven and Pournelle’s Inferno.
>>Inferno
I’ve read that book at least a dozen times but never made that connection. Derp to me!
I don’t think there was ever an actual bet but it was a dinner table conversation at some worldcon or other.
Having read first hand reports from those who were there Hubbard was basically acting like an asshole.
That said Heinlen was unintentionally responsible for these guys…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Church_of_All_Worlds
Downtown – in the main area – has a few benches that turn into temporary homes. But no tents. It’s like the bench gets wrapped with sleeping bags & pillows so it’s better for sleeping. Then it snow or rains and that turns to a soggy blob. Doorways are also popular since there’s no wind.
By the area of shelters, a lot of folks make little tents around highway underpasses, using tarps, etc. to keep out the elements.
Madison has homeless and a good craft scene for its size.
Atlanta has lots of homeless camps and a pretty meh craft scene for a city that large.
So you’re saying there’s no correlation? Bold assertion. You’ll likely need a fat gov-grant to explore this further.
Well, you’d have to adjust for climate change, ethnic distribution, minimum wage… anyone else want to jump in on this grant application? We’ll have to travel from city to city and get samples of the craft beer, as well as an approximate size of homeless camps.
You go count homeless, I will do the hard job of trying all the beer.
I figure we all go try the beer, and rely on “community polling” (AKA, talk to bartenders, brewers and patrons at the breweries) to get the idea of the homeless.
This is the kind of sound methodology we’ve come to expect in [current year]. Count me it!
The main problem of the vast majority of of street people in SF is not that they are “homeless”. Letting them camp out on the sidewalks and parks is just enabling a whole lot of terrible behavior. If you gave them a house within a few months it would be a disaster zone.
The reality that nobody wants to admit is that the new generation of homeless people are really too often people that want to be homeless, or worse, are mentally not stable and couldn’t function in a lifestyle that would allow them to own a home. You can’t do anything to help them, because they simply will never be able to function like someone that doesn’t want to be homeless.
Q linked a fantastic video that dealt with that exact problem. It’s not a ‘homeless crisis’, it’s a ‘seriously fucked up drug abusers making a choice to live and use in a consequence free environment crisis’.
Highly recommended.
Thanks Tundra, I will save that to watch later. And yes, Alex, at least from what I see here that is pretty much it. Places like SF, LA and Seattle have become magnets for these types because open hard drug use is allowed, plenty of handouts are given, and laws against petty theft are not enforced. If you want to be a drug addled layabout that gets plenty of free crap including needles, and given free reign to live on the streets and drug yourself into oblivion this place is perfect. The City is an enabler writ large.
It’s also the location of where you send the application for a new FFL (trigger warning: PDF), see page 4.
I truly feel for the Venezuelans. I also have no patience for socialist apologists, making the claim that Maduro only hurts the people because he loves them and that they are better off. You can’t argue with a blind man.
Stalin only starved those Kulaks out of love. Hitler only gassed the Jews (and others) because he wanted to teach them a lesson – about compassion.
Everyone nation gets the government they deserve.
Unfortunately the ones willing to risk their lives to change things are the ones least likely to reap benefits from their actions.
And what they will always reap is the scorn of those that are jealous of them. I am a very live-and-let-live kind of guy, but I despise people that want to tear down their betters because of jealousy, and that is what the progressive movement is all about: bringing down those that are exceptional and actually do the work of making society prosperous, because these people are never people in government (the new god of the left).
It’s the same argument slaveowners used. Coincidence? I think not.
The thing is … the opposition is socialist too! Just more … sane.
Happy commie labor day and or pagan may day glibs. Either way no work for Pie today
Did you get to move back into your digs yet? By the by, I really enjoyed your article about Bucharest yesterday.
Nope the wotkers took a week off i hope by may 15
In the middle of a renovation/ remodel? That would get you some pretty negative reviews in the states.
Like the poor Europeans have options. All you get if you give a negative review is the guarantee that when you need those services next time they will fuck you over…
Those bastards! Here, construction crews disappear during the opening of deer hunting season, or the opening of seasons for certain marine fishes.
Really? In my neck of the woods you might get a guy or two who does for a couple days that but shutting down the entire project for a week?
In several northern states firearm deer season is only a week or two long, so yes it’s treated like a state holiday. I hunt the first week of MN season in early November then hunt the 9 day season in WI over Thanksgiving week. So half of November I’m hunting.
Yeah, I know a few guys who set their vacations around hunting seasons but off the top of my head I can’t think of a small business owner who would allow their entire business to shutter up for a week so they or their employees to get in some hunting.
Pagan May Day is much more fun, if you can find some fine ladies to go-a-maying with.
As near as we can tell the pre-christian tradition of the celts that May day (aka Beltaine) is based on involved some portion of the people in the villiage (typically the young and unattached) heading out into the forest individually and having sex with the first member of the opposite sex they encountered
Can confirm.

We were terrible musicians.
I still remember when the Suicide Machines went by their full name: Jack Kevorkian and the Suicide Machines. Although I do have to be honest that I’m surprised their still together, not as surprised that Suicidal Tendencies is still together, but surprised none the less.

“2. Use A Lot Of Models (And Creativity)”
Isn’t this a rule for the sexual predators?
If they’re men, you can call them Latino and not Latinx.
What if they have penises but identify as female?
Man, Ted, such a shitlord.
Why do we have Latinx and not Blacx or Whitx or similarly absurd terms for other groups? Are only Latins allowed the x?
The ‘x’ is a placeholder for ‘o’ or ‘a’. I guess you can appropriate Spanish-language gender signifiers if you want, shitlord.
That’s so bigendered.
Now you’re going to fat-shame me?
*cries, runs out of room*
and most of the people who use the term latinx unironically tend to be pretty big end ered rhemselves
Transformative Justice. Hmm. It that when you hand your rapist a posie or when they forcibly castrate him and send him to fuck you in the ass prison. Typical woman, can’t make up her mind about anything!
“White feminists…However, queer folks and women of color”
Yes, let the tribalism flow through you!
Though my rapist is not a person of color, I refuse to perpetuate a system that continues to incarcerate Black and Latinx men at a rate of more than 5 and 1.4 times that of whites,
is it just me, or is that a complete non sequitor?
queer folks and women of color have historically pushed back against carceral feminism

Today’s “Google Doodle” is in honor of Ruth Asawa. Not being an art person I’d never heard of her.
But remember – Trump is the worst president ever!
It’s actually racist to point out that FDR did that because white people in America were to blame for it.

Washington Post dropped an article claiming that Mueller sent a letter to Barr being critical of Barr’s memo.
Surely they have published a copy of this letter.
Knowledgeable sources say they did not.
Mueller was critical of how the media spun the letter so what did the media do? That’s right, kept spinning. I swear if we could harness this energy we’d never need cold fusion.
From what I am hearing Mueller was not happy with Barr’s characterization of his report, so Barr called him and asked him to tell Barr what Barr had gotten factually wrong, and Mueller said nothing. I would figure that was the end of that, but the people desperate to pull a coup can’t let go.
From what I have read of the report, it is 20-30 pages of spy novel shit followed by a two paragraph conclusion that it was all speculation on Mueller’s part because there was no evidence. Over and over.
As I tell every asshat that tells me Barr misrepresented the report: “Where are the criminal indictments?” Cause if there was a “there”, there, wouldn’t Mueller’s team have thrown the book at more people than the few they entrapped and are fucking over for not having total recall or doing other things (totally unrelated to this collusion issue)?
The weaponized Obama administration people that had tried and failed, at least 5 times (that we know of) to entrap Trump team members and Trump himself before the election, decided to run a coup attempt to protect themselves, failed at it horribly, switched to running an investigation in the attempt to entrap Trump there and be able to accuse him of obstruction, and failed spectacularly there too, and finally stopped that shit show when Barr was appointed, are desperate to stop the investigations that will show how corrupt Obama made the US Intel apparatus and the Justice department.
LGBT members of Congress say the U.S. is ready to elect its first gay president.
“I have a vagina” didn’t work. I suppose “I fuck dudes” is the next logical strategy.
I wonder why we can’t just elect the most qualified person to do a good job for the American people (and not the elite and political class), and not care who they like to fuck, what they like to eat, what they worship, or they think space aliens are abducting people and probing them because they are a bunch of sex deprived pranksters that think anal probing people is fun.

Let me know if you make it thru all 2 minutes and 13 seconds.
How can these people walk around without killing themselves. You can’t walk around with your head up your own and someones else’s ass, while simultaneously trying to find offence around every corner without accidentally walking in front of a bread truck.
27 seconds.
It was 2 seconds for me… I just saw that air quote shit, and said I am done…
Zero. Saw “HUFFPOST” and bailed.
Zero. I am not clicking that.
C’mon Suthen, live (and die) a little!
Look, my day started off driving past a rather attractive dark-skinned lady of whom Q would certainly approve heading on the way to the convalescent center up the street in nurse’s scrubs, thus giving me hope that my dotage may yet contain something to live for. I’m in a pretty good mood. I’m not clickin’ on anything that has to do with social justice, pal, not today.

“Our goal was to cause maximum economic damage, that should serve as a warning to all individuals and businesses that profit off the human misery perpetrated by ICE,” the email added.
The article identifies these people as anarchists. That is not accurate. They are collectivists. They are fascists. They are terrorists. And most importantly, they are ignorant.
This May Day, let’s hope democratic socialism makes a comeback
For the sake of our planet and our species, we need to remember what was good in the old socialist dreams
The final answer to “Why socialism?” is simple: it would be the best guarantor of peace.
History has certainly bared that out…
*turns on news to check on situation in Venezuela*
Oh yeah. Socialism is definitely a guarantor of peace. And prosperity. Don’t forget prosperity.
…are you fucking serious?
Party like it’s 1917.
It survived despite killing over 100 million people.
A civil trial going on between ultra liberal Oberlin College and a bakery that was allegedly damaged and defamed because some black students got busted for shoplifting there.
I’d say the bakery has the edge in this case because the shoplifters were charged and successfully prosecuted, yet the students and the university apparatchiks kept up the inflammatory attacks. This should create a clear cut case of libel and defamation since there’s not much doubt the protesters put their false accusations in writing.

Did the Aziz allegations ever go past ‘went on a bad date’?
Once they hurl you into the void / burn you at the stake you aren’t ever supposed to come back. You shouldn’t be able to make a living or associate with society. People like Kavanaugh should be exiled – living like hermits in the deep woods somewhere living off of nuts and berries.
They are like the politicians during the late Roman Republic period – if you lose a political battle you accept exile or risk death.
The answer to that is a clear no, but they want it to be about the accusation, and not the facts. At least when it comes to those they don’t like.

No just wait till your 21
Ah. So make them more desirable to teenagers than before.
To wait how long? Like five minutes?
I hate Mitt Romney and I hate raising the age for anything from 18 to 21. I also hate this trend of punishing kids for stuff they do outside of school. I hate the direction our pussy society is headed. We’re ripe for a barbarian invasion.

“I hate raising the age for anything from 18 to 21”
Yesterday, I got a message from the high school principal about rumors of a nerf war going on among high school students. It is not happening on school property and isn’t happening during school hours. But it is dangerous and you should talk to your kids about it.
Last week it was about the “vaping epidemic” among high schoolers.
You know what, lady? Neither of those are any of your fucking business. How about you concentrate on your job?
Lol. One of the kids in the neighborhood was ambushed the other day by his friends (guys and girls). It was like a mafia hit.
I told him his situation-awareness was for shit.
Denis Leary way back when had a funny bit about some British guy who was campaigning to make the warning labels on packs of cigarettes bigger: “Because the problem is, we just haven’t noticed yet? ‘Let’s get a pack of – HOLY SHIT, THESE THINGS ARE BAD FOR YOU?? Christ, I thought they were healthy, I thought they had vitamins in them and shit!'”

I caught the highlights this morning, I was impressed. And the Monsters (Cleveland AHL team) are still in the run for the Calder Cup.

So much for my Amerks. What is that format, 3 of 5 games?
Best of 7

“an armored vehicle in control of forces loyal to socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro running over peaceful protesters ”
Bullshit bullshit bullshit. Really? They are gonna paint this as a ‘good guy vs bad guy’ situation? How about they go stick it up their ass. You cant send troops into that shitshow. Sanctions? Fine. Troops? Wanna send troops? Get your rifle Peanut and head out like Americans did during the Spanish civil war. Put your money where your mouth is and not someone else’s.
I guess the media thinks they have a shred of credibility left so they have to fix that. Take another giant steamer on your credibility, MSM. Go ahead.
Would be a shame if some cartons of rifles, ammo and RPGs were to just fall out of an airplane over anti-government held areas. And I would surely hope that any such air cargo would be equipped with emergency parachutes for safety reasons in case they happened to fall out of the airplane in flight.
Christopher Walken can help.
Simon Mann agrees.
“Peaceful” protesters that are throwing molotov cocktails at said armored vehicles.
I’m firmly on the side of the protesters if I’ve got to pick one, but I’m equally firmly against a single American soldier setting foot anywhere near Venezuela. Airdrop guns or whatever, sure, work the diplomatic angle, fine, but nothing that happens there is worth one drop of American blood.

The demise and rebirth of the ethical engineer
On the thread that binds the 737 MAX, FB data leaks, PG&E grid fires, and VW’s emissions
Chernobyl, Challenger, the levees in New Orleans….

Christ, what an asshole….
Gold King Mine
Forgot that one, but the point remains that for every Pinto, there’s a dozen examples of government ignoring risks with deadly results.
Written by a journalist who has no concept of quality control or risk management.
75% of my day is begging risk management to let me do things and hire firms. And I’m in insurance…
One pattern that binds all of these engineering disasters together is that they all had whistleblowers who were aware of the looming danger before it happened. Someone, somewhere knew what was about to transpire, and couldn’t hit the red button to stop the line.
I don’t have enough expletives to respond to this horseshit.
That’s also true of all engineering achievements–there was somebody saying loudly that this will never work. Somehow we don’t hear about them.
Well, the line should be somewhere. If you ask your internal experts’ opinion on a specific situation and then disregard it, resulting in catastrophic failure, that’s not something any company’s management tree should survive. If you’ve got a bunch of chatter between your internal experts saying “hey, we identified this possible failure mode, but we’re uncertain it will be reached in real-life, and this is the work-around if you do” that’s not the same thing. Challenger, problem behavior. VW emissions — not catastrophic. Engineers just tuned the system to get the desired performance. 737-Max, remains to be seen. I’m not sure the airline reinsurance community is going to just sign off on the return to flight on Boeing’s word. If that crushes Boeing, so be it. That’s capitalism, too.
Mild Wednesday recipe. I like the malt bill in this one. One malt, no sugar, no adjuncts, no coloring.
Low hopping for the amount of alcohol (its over 7%). Our weird anti-hop crowd might enjoy this one.

OT – I was at work the other night and a filler hose (no phrasing) came loose so I needed to get to the cutoff valve quickly. When I tried to sprint I nearly face planted into the concrete. Tonight I tried to jog a little but it was no good. My body feels totally top heavy and my balance is off. It then occurred to me that since I gave up strenuous sports because of injury, I haven’t really had to run in over twenty years. It’s like my body forgot how. I’m in reasonably good shape and most of my jobs over the last number of years require a shit load of brisk walking. Heck, I do ten miles on a slow night. I leave this here because I need to go to bed but any suggestions from you guys? Be kind (Or Not) because you are the Glibs and you are my Brothers. I was an athlete, Dammit!
Don’t run.
Advice from my orthopedist.
Same. 20+ years of distance running fucked me up.
Still sprint, though.
Thirded… I am not doing another knee replacement, and they now tell me I need an artificial hip too before I can run again..
I guess I will stick to long distance hiking.
I’m a middle-aged fart who works a non-strenuous job. But I run anywhere from 6-18 miles a week. Start easy with brisk walks of a mile or more. Slowly add in a little light running, like do a block of running and then walk two more blocks. Repeat for a few weeks, gradually adding in more jogging.
Once you can sprint well, you can knock off your mile times as your body gets used to the distance.
Honestly though – weightlifting is my preferred workout. But running a quick mile or two is best to reduce anxiety created from my job.
If you are a chubby lose some weight. That extra weight is tough to lose but it is not good for the knees/hips/upper body. Find a weight you can be comfortable with, do the exercises that you prefer. Glazed doughnuts may not be your friend. YMMV.
Now that the weather is nicer I’m outside working. Not hard, not long, those days are over but still trying to burn a few calories. I tried riding a bike last summer. What a shitshow. Anyone that says you never forget how to ride a bike skip about 40 years ahead. I couldn’t balance myself and get my feet on the pedals fast enough.
You could look into picking up a recumbent bike. No chance of falling over, but you need something to let other people know you’re there.
Festus on the new bike…

I’ve wanted one of those ever since Brainstorm.
If you really do want to get back into running, look up a “couch to 5k” program. Those give you daily goals to get you to a point where you can do a 5k.
This right here. I was a 5 mile a day runner until about four years ago. Hip and knee pain made me stop. Started back up a few months ago and it was like learning to walk again. CT5K helped a great deal.
Welcome to the club Festus.
I’m a skateboarder, so I naturally recommend skateboarding to everybody. However, since that is obviously not everyone’s bag I’d suggest getting one of these instead:

Start out easy on a carpeted floor and slowly work your way through learning to stay upright on the thing. It’s kind of meditative, it will mitigate potential future faceplants by improving your equilibrium and you’ll use muscles that you forgot you even had.
Work in a melt/cast department in a steel mill. The furnace explosions will keep you quick on your toes and the 6 story behemoth of a caster will keep you doing enough stairs that your calfs will stay strong enough to maintain a near athlete level of endurance.

Yeah, sure.
She was with Marilyn Manson, whose whole shtick is “I’m going to be outrageous and offensive for the sake getting as much attention as possible.” So no, being Marilyn Manson’s accessory is not a political statement.
I’ll just go ahead and say it. I like the old Rose better. She seemed happier. Perkier, too.
Same. It’s amazing how wokeness can take a ten down to a three or four.
It was also before she smashed her face in a car wreck.
I honestly think she still looks great in spite of that and all the subsequent reconstructive surgery. There’s just something about the mindset she’s adopted that makes me recoil in disgust.
Well she did share a set with Alyssa Milano during the original Charmed series. Maybe the franchise itself has been cursed with the ghost of wokeness from the get go. That would explain the tenor of this recent version.
That being said, If in fact she was raped by Harvey Weinstein’s bloated, disgusting ass(coupled with permanent disfigurement)I can at understand why she isn’t exactly stable.
Someone’s career needs a boost.
So apparently Maduro is now surrounded by Cuban troops because he doesn’t trust his own military.
Leopoldo Lopez (the second in command opposition leader) is currently at the Spanish Embassy in Caracas.
Guiado has called for Venezuelans to “fill the streets” this afternoon, so we’ll see what happens when day 2 kicks off.
That’s always how these dictatorships turn out towards the end. Some foreign power provides the manpower. Yeah, he has Cubans, but what seems to be going unreported is that there are lots of Russians and Chinese as well..
If it is a shithole totalitarian state, you can bet they are helping other shithole totalitarians keep power.
The Russians and Chinese also have troops there to make sure they get their cut.
I really don’t want another foreign intervention, but James Monroe might have been right.
No he wasnt. There is nothing whatsoever to gain by a U.S. intervention in Venezuela.
I guarantee you that U.S. troops there would only make the problem worse.
Eh. I don’t like intervention but can’t we just kill some commies?
Send in some private contractors. I mean, it worked OK in the glorious Republic of San Marcos.
I like the idea of telling the Brazilians and Colombians to handle their own sphere of influence. We can provide financial support or weapons, but keep US troops out plz.
I agree – a naval / air embargo to keep the Russkies and Red Chinese out might be necessary…
An air embargo means that the U.S. military shoots down planes that violate it. In this case, Russian and Chinese planes.
That was 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s policy for Syria. That was a bad policy suggestion for Syria and it is a bad one for Venezuela.
There’s still a fair amount of gold left in the vault, and there’s going to be a battle over the oil rights.
Is Guiado any more pro-market, pro-liberty than Maduro, or is he more the velvet glove style of socialist?
Basically the same difference as the “moderate rebels” that the U.S. backed in the Syrian civil war. You know, the Al Qaeda operatives.
Definitely the latter.
So you’re saying that Cuba is up for grabs?
I’ve said it before–we need to buy off the Cubans. We do that and he will be gone tomorrow.

“”Algorhythm” – YouTube: The Musical”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yr-fCIjRA_g
So, here in Florida we’re going out into meta-meta-land for libertarians.
We’ve had a spate of idiotic local laws banning plastic straws. My town included. Really dumb.
And now the response, which might be more idiotic. Well, that probably isn’t possible. But it is probably equally idiotic. To wit: the state legislature is set to pass and the governor sign into law….
….wait for it…..
…. A ban on plastic straw bans.
Yes. We’ve really arrived there. Here. Whatever. We are about to have a law that says local municipalities cannot ban plastic straws. For the next 5 years, I think.
So I’m torn. I want my real straws back. And I know these bans are beyond-the-pale stupid. But I don’t think the state should go around telling local governments they can’t ban something like this. First, it is a local issue, so GTFO. Second, really? You are going to pass a hyper-specific law preventing only one hyper-specific type of stupid local ordinance?
I get it – the five year ban is actually a pretty good idea, since this is just a fad driven by virtue signalling that will blow over so if you just wait five years there won’t be any more momentum for this stupidity…. but is this really what we are spending our time on?
Oh, wait. Maybe that’s a feature rather than a bug… I’m gonna have to reconsider this whole thing.
I call for a law on banning laws that ban.
This guy gets it!
But first we need a moratorium on laws banning laws that ban so that we can study the effects of the ban on bans. Then, once we have the report of the effect of banning bans on bans and things banned by bans…. then, and only then, we can act to ban the bans.
What is the actual extent of damage from plastic straws? Seems so arbitrary to pick on that specific piece of plastic.
It is precisely because it is of no consequence that they picked on it straffinrun..
Zero.
They picked up on the fact that aquariums like Sea World don’t allow plastic straws or lids – because they get into the tanks and are a pain in the ass to deal with because they are hard to see and the animals sometimes eat them.
So from that, plus “the great pacific gyre island of plastic” we get “ban all plastic straws”.
But they studied that plastic in the pacific that everyone is so worried about. less than 2% comes from America. Because we are really good at making sure our waste is properly handled. China… not so much. Only 30% of their trash ends up properly disposed of. (wow) Other SE Asian countries are similarly bad. So that’s where all that plastic is coming from.
And straws? That’s less than 1% of the plastic waste that isn’t collected. So US plastic straws in the pacific plastic island thing are not even enough to be a negligible amount. It is essentially zero.
But it is a nice symbolic gesture for the Woke crowd. They can signal their virtue as they sip on a slowly disintegrating plastic straw (or better, a reusable bamboo straw! Super Woke!), knowing that this minor inconvenience is “doing their part” to save the planet. By doing something involuntarily that makes absolutely no difference in any way whatsoever.
Slowly disintegrating paper straw. Dang. Need edit button so people won’t know how dumb I am…
This entire insanity was based on an invented statistic from a grade schooler’s science project.
My wife does a lot of work in this sphere. She’s anti-straw and all that stuff, but she also, every now and again, says stuff like, “Well, hang on, why does it matter if there are any osprey? If they all disappeared tomorrow, another predator would take their place. So besides sentimentality, is there any reason why people should care if osprey go extinct?” A big issue that people in environmental groups, especially those having to do with the water, have is trying to get people to think about these as local topics. For decades the strategy was to emphasize what they sarcastically refer to as “charismatic megafauna”, e.g. dolphins, whales, or sea turtles, because they’re cute, or they’re mammals, or whatever. But then what happens is people fixate on those animals and things that affect them.
Enter the straw ban. There’s a big push against plastics among marine environmentalists because of microplastics. It’s really hard to get someone who lives in Indiana to buy shampoo in paper bags or whatever because there’s a chance that microscopic particles of the plastic that makes the bottles will wind up working its way through the food chain, possibly (the jury’s still out on this) harming whatever happens to ingest it at some stage. So some kid finds a video of a turtle choking on a plastic straw and now everyone who wants to be an environmentalist (or be thought of as one) hates straws. But even the people who are most active in trying to reduce plastic use don’t think straws are the primary issue, beyond the fact that they’re made of plastic. And, of course, the problem they’re running into is that people are suddenly all hyperactive about plastic straws because of turtles and they’ve completely forgotten about anything else. They’re focused on this highly visible, ultimately not very impactful, single issue.
Seems so arbitrary to pick on that specific piece of plastic.
I think it’s quite calculated. Of all the detritus that end up in landfills and on floating garbage islands in the sea (the majority being fishing nets, IIRC), the watermelons have singled out the two things that yield the most convenience to people – straws and plastic bags. You don’t forge the New Soviet Man by letting him have his way, comrade. He needs rigorous discipline!
I was watching the state senate live when they debated that bill (mostly because a bill I half wrote was voted on right after that). The debate was … just so stupid. On both sides.
As is the custom ’round these parts.
Oh, and which stupid law am I going to have to deal with because of your efforts?
( I only say stupid because, you know, by definition….)
Rewrite of the corporate laws. Gives corporations more freedom than they had, so it’s … better?

Well, states have pretty absolute power over this stuff. Including the existence of municipalities in the first place. Be lucky you don’t live in a state that is ruled by a single municipality, or you too could enjoy statewide bans on everything.
For anyone interested in some non-NHL hockey action, the Team USA sled team is in the Czech Republic this week for the 2019 World Championship. As usual, it’s USA and Canada at the top, then everybody else, but there have been some great games. YouTube is streaming the games live, and you can also view prior live streams. Just go to YouTube and look up the Paralympic channel. Semifinals start today, and the gold medal game is Saturday morning.
It’s always fun for me to watch these games because I’ve either played with or met most of Team USA. I feel like a parent rooting for their kids.
I was watching some of that on the Olympic channel on Saturday. Was going to ask you about it. I’m amazed at the level of talent (at least from the US and Canada) at that level.
Those two teams are incredibly fast and skilled. They are destroying all the other teams. But that becomes a problem as they keep winning year after year. They have well-funded programs with a lot of competition for roster spots. I have heard that to even things out they might go to a system like wheel chair basketball, where each player is given a point rating based on disability, and the team on the court/ice can only add up to a certain number of points.
But for now, the rivalry is a lot of fun to watch. And having practiced with some of those guys, I can say that talent is even more impressive up close.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see them mention USA sled hockey during the NHL playoff intermission reports on NBCSN.

My unofficial & unsupported take was he’s a bullying POS, but he and his boss (who would suddenly resign to take the job of president at a small liberal arts college) got their dicks cut off either in retaliation for taking out the Governor or they went too far against the political establishment (connected civil service staffers) in their investigation.
Completely aside, iOS suggested both the former Attorney General and former Governor’s names in the suggested word boxes above the keyboard. I didn’t type either one.

There can’t be a better way to dispel the idea that you are an America hating anti-semite than hanging out with Angela Davis. Well, maybe hang out a bit with Linda Sarsour just to be safe.
America is such a scary place for her to be courageous.
She’s the one that left a shithole and she now shits on the country that took her in.
Angela Davis, the woman who once said that Aleksander Solzhenitsyn and other Soviet political prisoners that they deserved what they got and that “they were all Zionist fascists and opponents of Socialism”? That Angela Davis?
And she’s welcoming this endorsement?

The Buttchug article in the links noted that he visited Harlem this week to kiss the ring of noted civil rights icon Al Sharpton (again). There is literally zero consequence for Dem pols bending the knee to the most awful sort of hucksters in the country.
But isn’t “bending the knee” a sign of protest? Colin K thinks so.
I read that as “civil rights icon and scold”, which I think is probably more accurate.

Juror reflects on Noor verdict
Interestingly, the manslaughter charge took longer to reconcile than Murder 3.
Also:
I ran into a friend yesterday who is a Minneapolis cop. He wasn’t surprised at the verdict and indicated that the civil suit against the city (taxpayers) will be monstrous.
I was surprised. After Castile’s murderer got off, I didn’t think any cop would ever be convicted of killing anyone.
At the risk of validating the griefers, I think the big difference is the victims. Damond was the right color, the right sex and wasn’t doing anything wrong at all when she was killed (even though the cops searched her house in an attempt to find something to tarnish her reputation). Castile was way less sympathetic as a victim. He was black, a man and was smoking MJ. None of that excuses it in my mind, but Yanez’ defense team had a much easier case to defend.
Bah. Castille used DRUGZ!!!! Don’t you get it, man?!? DRUGZ!!!
The piece of shit cop who executed him literally used that at his defense. A monster who would risk the lungs of a child is capable of anything!
Bah.
From an article in the local paper:
It doesn’t say, but I wonder how many of the 45% of that did result in convictions, were convictions for lesser crimes like reckless endangerment or something along those lines.
This verdict has definitely confused the Root writers. They try to walk the line to blame cops and bemoan the oppression of blacks in America.
Which is tough when the cop is black. They do their best to portray Noor as a victim of racism because he’s the only cop that has been convicted of shooting people. And they also bring up Castile as a cop who got off because his victim was black and the cop wasn’t “other” enough to be convicted.
Your cousin was a gutless pussy who should have chosen a different line of work.
I said it yesterday: this is gonna be a feeding frenzy for the race hustlers.

And, after the trial, go home and write poetry by candlelight with a quill and inkwell.
It’s not less of a crime because the victim was white.
The first vote we had on Murder 3, it actually was unanimous.
I guess after sitting through days and days of testimony I wouldn’t feel too animous either.
Is it normal for jurors to reach out to the media to explain their deliberations? That doesn’t seem healthy or productive, especially for a high-profile case, especially with latent political implications assigned to goddamn everything, especially in a society quickly losing its ability or desire to shield private lives from public scrutiny. When do we start seeing reprisals by activist journalists against jurors who didn’t vote the right way?
I was talking to some people about the fact that the jurors names are in the public record and if you get picked for a trial like this, you must feel a lot of pressure to vote the right way. If you don’t, you know that the crazies will track you down and make life hell.
I didn’t read the story, but did the jurors reach out? Or did the journalos track them down and ask them about their deliberations?
The outlet claims he contacted them. But it’s not uncommon for journalists to reach out to jurors, at least according to this. (The author cites a corruption case in which media investigation ferreted out potentially disqualifying lies told on the juror questionnaires.) And that’s all well and good when you have, if not disinterested, at least ethical journalists. But it’s less and less an ethical industry, and now journalists and media figures are praising blatantly unethical conduct as a requirement for reporting in the Trump era. So when ethics and norms have no meaning and you can send TV crews to harass grannies for social media posts, or national outlets blackmail private citizens into silence, why not harass and embarrass jurors? The Nazi menace demands that the truth-tellers for social justice tear down every last vestige of decorum.

It’s a tricky situation. In principle, I don’t have much sympathy for the “common carrier” argument. And I can see why a reasonable person might find it appalling that a private business might be coerced to provide a platform for views they hate. So, I’m not without sympathy here.
That said, their implied common carrier status gives them a protection from IP, defamation, slander lawsuits that no publisher enjoys. And when they decide they want to only allow certain political opinions to be intermixed with the cat memes and vacation pics, it’s hard to pretend they haven’t stepped across the threshold into publishing.
I want to see their protection stripped. If they are going to take up the job of policing content, they should be responsible and held responsible for abuse. Remember, nobody told them they HAD to do any of this shit. When the got caught censoring people they used the “We are policing bad shit” thing as an excuse. The problem is that it is blatantly obvious that this “policing” happens, it never seems to trigger when people on the political left or affiliated with brutal Islam say/show horrible shit….
It’s hard to see that as anything but blatantly political.
Also, it’s jarring to see Donald Jr. dressed down, so to speak, but I think it suits him. He seems like a surprisingly normal dude.
SCOTUS To New York City – Motion Denied
The NYPD tried to get out of losing the case by promising to enforce an unconstitutional law differently.
Good times – dude tried to rob a bank around the corner, took a few shots at the cops, now we’ve got helicopters circling and cops in a tizzy
Make sure your dog is not outside…
No yard, so she can’t go out by herself at any rate. She safely sprawled out on the couch, as usual. Still an hour or two from her usual walk time.
Cop: *busting down door and shooting slumbrew* I perceived a threat.
Er, slumbrew’s dog
I think you had it right the first time.
“He had a dog! A DOG!”
It’s cute that you think your dog being inside is any impediment to a riled up cop.
Do you have a dog door? I can just see the hilarity as a cop
trespassingsearching your back yard for the perp sees the dog door and begins fearing for his life. To ensure he goes home safely, he just jams his pistol through the dog door and fires randomly.A dog door around here would just be marked “junkies enter here”.
What constitutes bad times?
No more chow lines to hang on?
Bad times would be some deranged asshole attempting to force his way into the house to hide from the cops, I suppose.
BostonStrong?
This is Slummerville, thank you very much – home of Whitey Bulger & the Winter Hill Gang. Bank robberies were just a part of the local color until effete gentrifiers like, uh, me moved in.
You gotta crank “Bad Boys, Bad Boys. Whatcha gonna do?”
That’s only gonna make the cops start thinking they should shoot everyone they see everywhere…
The audio on this video is hilarious:

Helicopter pilot(?) cracking wise – I’m not sure they meant to publish that part of the video.
Bank robbers, at least the smarter ones, are not very likely to try and rob a bank near a donut shop.
Not being near a donut shops is an impossibility around here
Ha! I wonder how many speeding/parking tickets he gets going forward. He better not make any furtive movements.
Just heard on the scanner they have the weapon, the money and a suspect, though still checking – excitement should be winding down.
In the North Hollywood shootout, I was still “evacuated” for another 9 hours after that point was reached. Finally allowed back in to the apt. around 8:30 (after cops verified it was free of hiding perps)
G’damn helicopters are not clearing out. Distracting, to say the least. (not me)
Best be sure it has. Walking a dog around cops is like wearing a miniskirt after a certain time of night, you almost can’t blame the cop for sending Poochie back to his planet.
I heard the helicopters but didn’t know what was going on. I missed so much excitement.
Should I take my brother to Aokigahara (The suicide forest) or a Maid cafe tomorrow? He’s visiting and is leaving it up to me. Bad idea on his part.
Why not both?
美味しくな~れ
(Become delicious!)
Indeed. Get him to invest in your new business — a cafe with a mirrored floor and pantiless waitresses dressed as maids with nooses around their necks.

You sir, are wasting your talents in whatever job you are doing… Be a tour guide!
I not sure Japan would hit its aggressive tourist goals with straff doing that. It would be a heck of a ride though.
Hostess club! Make sure he pays however.
Get a Twinkie?
Suicide Forest. But don’t tell him, and make sure he see’s you packing a rope before hand.
LOL. Great minds. I had the noose all ready.
Then, start giving a blank stare and muttering scary sounding Japanese phrases as you slowly walk toward a tree.
A mob of anarchists continued their reign in the city last weekend, pushing a garden hose through the mail slot at the law office of Sean Riddell and flooding the building’s floor and basement, Willamette Week reported.
That’s a great way to win friends and influence people.
From my home town. Another case of pretty white girl syndrome. Why else would this make the news in New York?
Are they going to check where all the local squad cars were at the time?
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue Features First-Ever Baptist Model In Floor-Length Denim Skirt
The goodwill the magazine earned among Christians evaporated, however, when the magazine also included a modestly dressed Muslim woman in the issue, and evangelical leaders quickly called on the magazine to feature a less modestly dressed woman in her place.
Heh.
STEVE SMITH HAVE LARGE COLLECTION OF PURITY RINGS
That’s a Baptist thing? I’ve always wondered. I see those ladies around now and again and assumed they were in a cult or something.
That is how our local cult dresses their women folk. I don’t think we have any baptists around.
I mean, do what you do, but how is that any different than walking around in sweats? I know it’s supposed to be modest or whatever, but to me it just reads, “I’ve pretty much given up.”
In the cult, the women are only for the men they are paired with, so their appearance doesn’t matter to the outside world.
It’s a thing common to fundamentalist strains of various denominations, including Baptists, but not common to Baptists. Baptists tend to be, among the larger denominations, more conservative, so it works as both a short-hand and a gentle jab from otherwise denominated Christians (and the Bee likes to take all-in-good-fun jabs at the various different denominations from time to time).
The one about the Calvinist dog telling his owner that “no one is a good boy” the other day was hilarious.
‘Adulting’ calendars reward grown-ass adults with stickers
I find the biggest reward for doing things like paying bills and arriving to work on time is not having your house foreclosed on and not being fired.
My favorite is when my lights and water still work every morning when I wake up. y’know, as a reward for paying my utility bills
Bill, I just saw your opinion on my Raise/job scene, and ill take your advice,
Thanks
Hope it helps. I’ve been in a broadly similar fix. I need more money, but I’ve also benefited from the flexibility and perqs at my current job. I walk a narrow line between trying to keep some steady pressure on management to send more money my way and not being such a pain in the ass about it that they figure they could hire someone else to do my job for less or that I seem unappreciative.
Good luck, Bob. I hope you get a big fat raise!
Are they scratch and sniff stickers? If not, fuck off!
Ewww!! /teenage girl
Watching Barr appearing before congress. Barr: “The IG is looking to see if there was overreach [by the FBI in regards to obtaining the FISA warrant]”. The FBI is going to have to admit that either a) they were full of shit and used knowingly fake intel or b) they were incompetent and thought the intel was accurate. I can’t wait to see witch option they choose.
c) Their only crime was being too passionate about protecting America from Russian meddling. They care too much.
Must watch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdaUDeAGIck
I watched it last night, and I don’t get it. They must have changed what it is again.
I’m with you on that. Kids these days…*Wipes back of neck with warm towel, swigs some shochu*
One more story from the Bee. The last one for today, I promise:
Democrats Call Upon Nation To Unify Against Other Half Of Nation
