Hola, bitchachos. Happy Friday. My mother-in-law is coming into town this weekend, and we get along famously. I’m sure my boys will be crazy all weekend. If you need me I’ll be attending to this work emergency that has suddenly come up and absolutely must be worked on all weekend. In my office. But I can totally drink while taking care of it. Just, you know, too busy to hang out. Maybe the boys want to spend special time with MiMi and their mom, right?
Wow, this is really fucked up. I didn’t realize that cyclopia was an actual thing that could happen. Creepy AF.
Herman Wouk, author of The Caine Mutiny, dead at 103. That’s a pretty good run.
Fucking Austria, man.
Seriously, do not let a computer drive your car unsupervised. Especially with you in it. It appears that it does not do a good job of recognizing semi-trucks turning left in front of it.
Here’s a pretty song for Friday.
Si, por favor no besa las vacas.
Solo se ya está uma hamburguesa.
Este! ^^^^^
It sounds like they are cows, not steers.
Them’s for eating, not for kissing.
True story: Many years ago, I was up mooching around Rocky Mountain National Park, and stopped at one of those scenic overlooks where you can see for miles. Nearby a vacationing family from Mexico was taking in the view with their two little kids. As is usually the case, some chipmunks were hanging around; as is usually the case, the little kids were chattering away at the chipmunks.
For some reason my brain went off on its own and I thought, “…that’s ridiculous. Chipmunks don’t speak Spanish.”
In my defense, I was still young at the time.
I’ve been up there. Estes Park is absolutely beautiful.
Those weren’t my kids.
I was there again last summer. Great little town.
A few years ago we did the Trail Ridge Road soon after it opened. It was a little harrowing at times (pretty sure my Tahoe steering wheel had permanent grip marks), but absolutely gorgeous.
Uma?
As in Uma Thurman?

“this happened an hour ago.”
Bullshit. Never happened at all.
Aren’t these supposed to be in green text? When did the spaghetti fall out of his pocket?
So PG&E is responding to last year’s wildfire by saying they’re going to just turn off the power on the windy days during fire season. CA is fucked.
That’s only like 40 or 50 days.
It’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see how it works out for them.
I can’t imagine the lawsuits are going to be any more expensive.
My company was part of a $1B judgement against them for fires a few years ago.
You mean the wrongful death suits for all the old folks homes without power?
Here in New England we’re not too far behind.
Basically the Green animists have decided to propitiate the vengeful sky-goddess by phasing out all controllable sources of electrical generation. Nuclear power plants are being shut down early. Natural gas pipelines are being blocked, and the local utilities have announced a moratorium on hooking up new customers. Their vision is to have all electricity produced by intermittent power sources plus depending on interconnects with New York and Quebec to make up for any shortfalls when the wind doesn’t blow or snow covers the solar power cells.
The power grid’s independent system operator published a report basically saying that starting about five years from now they won’t be able to generate enough power during storms to supply the electrical grid and that there will be blackouts.
I want to get ready for our great leap backward by securing backup power generation. I’m thinking underground propane tanks hooked up to a good gas burning emergency generator.
Thoughts?
What’s your power requirements? First thing you should do is make an energy budget and size the generator to that.
We’re buying a home with 100 AMP service. I’m of two minds. Either to get something that can handle everything, or a identify some critical loads and go with a subset.
If it were a question of the occasional outage lasting a few hours, the latter would probably make the most sense.
But my guess is that we’re going to see much worse here. Days without power. And this house, in keeping with the green superstitions against combustion that have prevailed here since the mid 90s has electrical everything. So, if the power goes out we can’t cook.
At least it has oil heat.
Need power to run the blower on the heater?
100 amps at 240V is 24kW. You probably don’t need all of that. Keep in mind that when you run a generator, the fuel costs are directly scaled to the size even if you don’t run it under full load so it’s best to buy just a bit more than you need to minimize running costs.
Also don’t have oversize your generator. A 20kw generator for a 3kw load isn’t good for the engine either.
Heating oil will run an 1800 RPM diesel generator, which are extremely reliable and available in massive sizes.
Running a generator with heating oil may get you jail time in MA even if it doesn’t cause injector issues.
Isn’t #2 heating oil, #1 diesel = kerosene? Either should work except for the tax people maybe.
Really? I thought they only care if you use it for motor fuel.
It’s the sulfur content that will get you in trouble with the law.
Also older diesel gensets are pretty tolerant but new ones have more sensitive fuel and emissions systems.
Some recommendations….
Stay away from Generac
Winco and Gillette generators are reliable.
1800 rpm is more reliable but more expensive than 3600 rpm. They’re also quieter.
Can you get natural gas service? Even if you have to pay for the deployment it may be cheaper than the tanks and there’s no refueling required.
No natural gas service to my new street. Also, given thay NY state is blocking construction of any additional pipeline capacity, and the local fundies are blocking natural gas terminals on the coast, I’m thinking propane is a safer bet than natural gas.
Propane is manufactured from natural gas.
That said, it usually is transported by rail and not pipeline.
And it can be transported by truck. Worst comes to worst, it can be smuggled.
If you’re still interested, I can help you with the numbers on the requirements and an estimate of equipment costs. Installation is another matter.
Also I may have a gasoline option for you as well.
Sure. Email me at tarran.of.sol3 at protonmail.com
Will do
^This. NatGas only went out once for me and that was for planned maintenance which they announced in advance.
BUT, there is something to be said for tank-based storage so you are not dependent upon the political whims of whoever runs the utility (city government here).
What’s the problem with Gererac, we let our electrician handle that if out homeowners want a backup and he uses Generac.
Quality issues. Wholly manufactured in China and the gen ends are cheapened up (less copper).
Doesn’t mean that they cannot work, just that the incidence of problems is higher.
Also, I’ve found that a lot of electricians really don’t understand generators
Is relocating not an option?
Not for four more years. When my daughter graduates high school and ‘ages out of’ the custody agreement, I can move. But not until then.
And then I can knock the dust of this superstitious and backward state (Massachusetts) off my sandals and leave them to their doomed attempt to curry favor with a non-existent sky-mommy.
You’re welcome.
/New York
PS. We’re fucking ourselves, too. So there’s that.
It’s like I said in the previous thread, where the hell do they think all this leads? Do they really think freezing in the dark is some kind of viable plan?
Most of them don’t have a fucking clue how anything works nor have they ever experienced real deprivation.
Yet they desperately want to be in charge.
^This.
Jimmy Carter nods solemnly in his cardigan.
Well, the wealthy and connected won’t be freezing in the dark. Only the deplorables, and who really cares about them anyway?
Let them eat ice?
…and the local utilities have announced a moratorium on hooking up new customers
Wait, what? Did your state really just implement a zero-growth policy, essentially outlawing all new businesses and houses?
Yes.
They don’t realize it.
Basically the government is preventing the local utilities from upgrading their infrastructure. This is the first step to a Venezuela-style downward spiral of rotting infrastructure.
So the moratorium is a temporary measure that is anticipated to last only a few weeks. The state will come up with some makeshift to end it. But they are not going to authorize new production or significantly expanded importation. So there will be more moratoriums that will get longer and longer.
I know that theoretically there’s no such thing as “peak derp”, but such a stupid move has me convinced that this might be it. And the longer they persist in such foolishness, the worse it’s going to be when things go belly-up.
I’ll have to start trying to convince my MA relatives to move.
The gas utility in New York’s Westchester County has already declared “no new customers”. New York City is next.
They used to hook up the new customers with eachother?
They might as well. If you’re gonna get f’d…
Seriously, though, gas and wind cannot replace jack shit in the grid. The electric grid requires a base of steady, reliable power, and solar / wind are the exact opposite of reliable.
If it makes you feel better, you’re not alone. I mean, look at how fast things are changing! The 100 year average temperature in summer was 69 F, the 30 year average temperature in summer was 69.4 F, and the 10 year average temperature in summer was 69.5 F! The winter, oh hell… 100 year average: 27.2 F, 30 year average: 28.3 F, 10 year average: 28.2 F!
DOOM! (If I could put a third link in without moderation, imagine this goes to the Futurama DOOM! clip)
I had an intelligent ex-high-school classmate tell me that the number of extreme weather events in New England had skyrocketed and that trees were flowering weeks earlier than they were when we were kids.
The fact that it took me only a few minutes to find actual data proving her wrong got me nowhere.
It’s pretty scary. This is like the propaganda that convinced Germans that Jews had stabbed them in the back in World War I. Every bit of evidence the Nazis marshaled to prove their claim evaporated at the slightest skeptical scrutiny, but so pervasive was the propaganda that a critical mass of Germans decided it was the truth.
I am utterly disheartened at how successful the propaganda has been in convincing people that they have actually experienced disasters and suffering that they haven’t experienced. I’ve basically wordlessly stopped interacting with them.
I hope if the shit hits the fan, they’ll have forgotten I even exist. Because some of them are so upset that they would shoot me dead for threatening life on earth by my existence if handed a rifle and told to do so by the right authority.
It’s religious. Belief in climate change is an article of faith.
You can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into. I think the most frightening thing I ever heard in a discussion about politics (this was in relation to taxes) was, “The numbers seem to add up, but it doesn’t feel right.”
That right there told me there was no point in continuing to discuss any politics at all with that person, because they weren’t thinking about how things worked. They just wanted excuses for their preferences.
Remember how Obama responded to the question about how he would feel about tax increases if they didn’t increase revenues? His response that he’d still be in favor of tax increases on the basis of fairness was all you need to know about him.
A friend of mine stopped talking to me because I was right about the effect of the new tax laws.
He won’t believe anything from a right wing site (ie not NPR or MSNBC), so I sent him a recent Reason article about the new tax law’s results and he insulted me and refused to read it.
Generators are good and if you can place one, I’d do it but they’re not a silver bullet. We have auto run standby generators with auto transfer switches at our facilities. They don’t always work as intended. There’s also issues with biodiesel sitting in a tank (algae growth and breakdown), getting fuel delivered in an emergency, and now the EPA is limiting the number of hours that emergency generators can be ran.
And there’s no perfect manufacture either. Cat, Onan, they all have issues. Especially as they age.
And you need to make sure to use them on a regular basis.
/has seen multiple data centers brought down by not following that rule

“Don’t just give money to your college of choice, donate some free speech backbone
If you are planning a gift to your alma mater, or to any other institution of higher education, you should first determine if the school has adopted the so-called Chicago statement of free speech principles, or something very close to it. At last count, 63 individual institutions or campus systems had adopted or endorsed its principles or something quite similar. These include Columbia, Georgetown, Princeton, Purdue and the City University of New York, according to the nonprofit Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, which has put forth a model resolution based on the Chicago statement that is easily adapted.
If you hope to give to a school that has not embraced the Chicago statement, write to the institution’s president to say that you will not be sending any more money until these principles are endorsed. Adopting a set of principles won’t by itself change the climate of a campus, but it’s a start.
Big donors of course have outsized influence, and they should use it. If you’re wealthy and went to an institution that is chilled by social justice zealots, take it up with the president. Emphasize the importance of viewpoint diversity, which in all likelihood is sadly lacking on campus.”

Isn’t Princeton where the guy was fired because he wouldn’t join the mob attacking people for their Halloween costumes? Somehow, I suspect their dedication to free speech is highly situational.
That was Yale I think.
My mistake then

As someone who has worked with Indians for most of my career, for more than 20 years now and had Indian friends going back over 30 years, I can tell you, a lot of them are crazy superstitious to the point of it being ridiculous. Typically that sort of severe deformity will result in death very quickly. But, miracle of God? LOL, dummies.
Aren’t they right around 4:00 PM every weekday?
Sometimes we don’t do Fridays if there’s going to be a cryptid sighting.
This is crude but are they superstitious about showers. Jersey city was full of Indians and getting on that Path train at rush hour was brutal.

“This is what I mean by outlets mining outrage. The AP found the one person offended by the gender-swap thing. How does this warrant an article? Who cares? Why is “Someone is mad online” a genre?”

“For trans people, gender-swap photo filters are no mere game
Snapchat’s new photo filter that allows users to change into a man or woman with the tap of a finger isn’t necessarily fun and games for transgender people.
Some say it reduces their very real and often painful experiences to folly.
Thirty-one-year-old Bailey Coffman is a transgender woman from New York. She says that “my gender is not a costume.”
But some others see the potential for such tools to lead to self-discovery among people struggling with their gender identity.
Elliott Wheeler, a 16-year-old high school student in Michigan, goes by the name Ellie. She says she hopes “this does help some people better recognize their gender.”
Snapchat maker Snap Inc. says in a statement that its design team continues work to ensure its filters are diverse and inclusive.”

Why is “Someone is mad online” a genre?”
Because it generates clicks. The news media is about drumming up controversy because it produces clicks.
He took too many strawberries, didn’t he?
That’s where he had them. They laughed at him and told jokes, but he proved beyond a shadow of a doubt, using geometric logic, that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox did exist….and he would have produced that key if they hadn’t taken the Caine out of action.
What? No he wouldn’t. He was too busy playing with his balls.
Something didn’t click
I really enjoyed that novel. I don’t think the movie properly captured the moral ambiguity of the story adequately. Sure, Queeg had precious little to recommend him. But, neither did those who removed him.

Man Identifies As Woman Just Long Enough To Voice Valid Opinion On Abortion
They have some top notch writers.
That’s perfect!
I was working on a project for this here site today, and I never noticed before but Bernie has a green eyes. Fitting.
So, apparently the Republicans used tricknology to “pass all those abortion bills while [feminists] weren’t looking.” You see, they were so distracted by the wall and the China trade policy to notice. Seriously, that’s what they are saying.
Hell, they wanted the bills to pass. Now they have something to campaign and fundraise on.
Well, since the Grand Wizard of tricknology, the Orange One has appeared, anything is now possible with tricknology.
You mean like how a bunch of blue states passed the opposite abortion bills at the same time?

Wow, this Preakness shit is about to start up again. I visited a client this morning, but left around 1:30PM to beat the horrific traffic I might have faced on the JFX. I feelz it in muh bonez. Or I know it because I hear the choppers circling around to cover it. It’s just unreal how loud the shit gets when they start with live music, and I’m at least 2 miles away. I just close all my patio doors and windows and put on my headphones. If it were up to me, I’d turn the entire place into a glue factory.

The truck seems to be at least partially at fault for the accident. Don’t pull out unless you can get across to your lanes of traffic without the oncoming traffic being impeded.
On the other hand, self-driving cars need to at least try to avoid the accident.
On the gripping hand, it was Tesla.
Driver activated the autopilot like something around less than 9 seconds before the crash. The visibility was such that it should have been obvious the truck was crossing.
I blame Tesla to the degree that it hypes the autopilot, but the manual is quite clear about the interaction of the driver being required at all times.
But since this is Tesla it brings (deserved) scrutiny.
My father taught me that anytime you cause someone to use their brakes, you’re doing something wrong.

The science is settled:
Drinking champagne every day ‘could help prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s’
Who can afford that?
Andre is like $5/bottle.
I drink 10/$10 24 oz cans of Millwaukees Beast Diet.
For $5 I could have a 10-pack
I’m just saying.
It pisses me off to no end when a news story describes a study with absolutely no information about the journal it was published in or when.
Anyway, here it is for those interested.
My wife would beg to differ.
Again, the stupidity of science “journalism”. If you read the abstract, there is nothing about “preventing” dementia. What the journal authors wrote was “these data indicate that polyphenols present in wine may hold neuroprotective potential in delaying the onset of degenerative disorders.” ‘Delaying onset’ is very different from ‘preventing’.
The value of these studies is so minimal. What’s the result, we tell people to drink more wine? Does anybody really think that’s going to matter?
I wouldn’t consider myself to have the expertise to judge the overall merit of the study, but if it’s the phenolic acids that are doing it, you can get that from a whole lot of other things than just wine.
My personal observations of the big city pan handlers suggests that wine may not prevent those degenerative problems. Mad Dog is a pharmaceutical and requires a prescription?
Usage of bumwine is contraindicated.
In a couple of years, wine will be found to accelerate the onset.
When I look for science, I go to Cosmo.
In news that should surprise no one: Biden’s sizeable lead is built on the support of the old guard of the party:

That’s because he’s only popular with the voters. The “popular kids” don’t like him that much.
In his case the popular kids are correct.
The popular kids think socialism is dreamy.
He’s the one who they assume can beat Orange. That’s all that matters.
When you consider his competition, it makes more sense.
There are so many candidates he only needs approximately 8 votes to win. He would take if they weren’t going to fix it for Harris.
Seth Rich isn’t around to expose it this time, either. I mean the Russians. Yeah, that’s it. The Russians.
Anyone miss when car keys looked like keys and not hunks of black plastic?
I do!
*raises hand*
Those keyless fobs don’t stand out and are too easy to lose.
I have a key fob to enter my apartment building. I’m thankful for the ease and quickness of entry it allows as I’m fending off the street people. Imagine how many horror movie scenes would be different with key fobs.
Lots of them, look towards any slasher film with someone running away. There’s almost always a struggle to unlock the car door, then the dropping of the keys, accidentally kicking the keys under the car, then either running away from the car, or retrieving the keys and getting stabbed through the back once you get in the car because the slasher was already inside.
Imagine how many horror movie scenes would be different if we had the culture our Founders intended and every citizen bore arms.
I had to laugh at the ending of Into The Badlands. The entire series was people hacking each other to death and snapping necks, but the real evil emerges at the end, a revolver.
+1 Indiana Jones
Yes
Particularly when you rent a car and they chain two huge plastic blocks together so you can’t fit them in your pants pocket.
Yeah, I love it when they give you both keys, with the $100 (or so) charge per lost key.
That’s one of my biggest complaints. I like to keep a slim profile in my pants pockets, and those bricks are getting larger and bulkier each year.
” I like to keep a slim profile in my pants ”
My condolences to Mrs. Mulatto.
You’ll note that I wrote “in my pockets.”
I don’t want anything distracting from the bulge, obviously. Which I almost wrote in my OP, but I was trying to class up the place.
Note my NY Times style editing.
A key fob will detract from your bulge? You have my sympathies.
Not quite the Eldridge Cleaver, are ya ?
Did he wear a Fuxedo?
Damnit. Link.
I had a Volvo XC90 on my last trip. The key was about the size of a USB drive, so it was actually too small. The guy at Enterprise was putting a big fob on it because they had lost a few keys already.
I just deeply, passionately ht push button start.
My ’39 Ford had push button start. We’ve come a long ways in 80 years.
I wonder how many people get really confused by the old (terrible) tip to hold your keys in your knuckle as a self-defense weapon…
Ha I still do that! I thought i invented it!
#metoo
Old habits die hard.
But I do have the pepper spray coming tomorrow. I wonder how I know if it works?
Look into the opening and push the button. If it’s working, you will see a mist come out of it.
Thanks!
“Oh god, the keys are lodged in my hand!”
Is it that terrible? Seems like a good way to take out an eye.
Mine is a key within a plastic chunk,
No.
But that’s only because I drive a car 0.6 Evans old and so still have proper keys. I’m not looking forward to when I inevitably have to upgrade.
Not I. I ? keyless entry key fobs.
Nope, I don’t miss having to occasionally re-key the lock cylinder.
And the ones where you can leave them in your pocket are even better.
Who else thought Clegane Bowl sucked?
Can we extend that to this entire season?
Yeah, I guess we can.
GOT season 8 in one picture
LOL. Not too far off base. Although why does it turn into a real horse near the end of season 6? I forget what happened then.
My guess is the Battle of the Bastards (which had issues of its own) and the Winds of Winter (revenge on the Freys, the wildfire bombing, and king in the North).
I assume: Battle of the Bastards, blowing up the Sept & Walder Frey getting his just desserts.
Would have been better with lightsabers.
I thought it was pretty good. Although it may be benefiting by comparison with some of the other stuff that has been happening lately.
It seemed absolutely pointless except as fan service.
They’ve really abandoned all character development in an attempt to wrap it up.
Jamie’s actions were particularly jarring – wut? all that character development, right out the window.
Maybe they hired the Star Wars episode 7 & 8 writers.
I’m sorry, I don’t know what those things are.

If they had started planting the seeds a couple seasons ago (like in the books), it would at least make some sense. Instead of it feeling like, “Shit! We’ve only got 6 episodes to do all of this?” At this point I blame the show-runners, since lots of reports are coming out that HBO offered them up to 10 episodes a season (and going up to 10 seasons).
Don’t worry, they’re moving on to Star Wars next (supposedly an Old Republic trilogy).
Wow. So glad I dropped it years ago.
I’m just slogging through – I had the last couple on my DVR for more than a week before I finally just streamed them while I was working and just half payed attention.
The girlfriend is a fan of the show. I read the books. It lead to some great amusement to me during the Red Wedding. But even she’s laughing at some of the ridiculousness of these past two seasons. It takes a lot for me to drop a series of books part way through… so far I’ve done it once (Terry Goodkind), FFS I finished the Wheel of Time books and the Dark Tower series.
You’re a better man than I – I punched out of WOT after, maybe, Lord of Chaos? And Dark Tower when it ended on the cliffhanger on the train.
I think I made it a little farther in the Dark Tower but when it shifted to nothing but back story I completely lost interest.
I finished all three but tapped out of GOT after book four.
Yeah, I really don’t understand the rush. The show could easily have filled out 10 full seasons no problem. Were they just tired of doing it?
There’s a couple of theories floating around, but they’re all just guessing at this point.
The lure of Star Wars sounds like a plausible one to me.
What annoys me is how long they spent yapping before and after the fight with the Dead, and on her firebombing the city and Arya running around. They could have easily used half of that time for some real story telling.
It’s still the best thing on TV though. Though Veep was awesome.
Yah, that episode seemed to go on way too long.
I’m enjoying Barry, though I’m really starting to hate the girlfriend (but that may be the point).
I tried Barry at first and gave up on it. Then I was bored and watched the episode where he got his ass kicked by the karate guy and his little karate daughter and I laughed my ass off.
I’m a few episodes behind, haven’t seen that one yet
Silicon Valley is great as well. And there’s a couple of shows I would put above Game of Thrones.
I love Silicon Valley. Probably the only thing I’ll make time to watch during the initial airing.
Cobra Kai never dies.
Does Prime count? I really enjoy Bosch.
Bosch is good. I’m a couple episodes into the new season.
You have no idea how happy I am that the phrase “Vita Coco Piss Jar” is semantically meaningful.
I’m oddly impressed by Vita Coco’s commitment.
So I mentioned before that I just went from having an office to being in an open space environment when I transferred jobs.
So this week an African American woman in the row next to me, 2 seats down, out of the blue starts yelling at me about my fan. Apparently it’s making her cold. And I better do something about it or she’s gonna take my fan and smash it to pieces. So I say “go ahead and take it and see what happens”because it’s the first thing that comes into my head.
At that point she shuts up and sits down. Maybe I had a certain tone?
Then this other woman says “well it is hot in here”, and the African American woman proceeds to go off on her to the point she starts crying and runs out.
Yadda yadda yadda a little while later the big boss asks me to move my fan. So I do. I’m not a psycho. All she had to do was ask me.
Anyway this is yet another example of why the asshole with the Masters in B.A. who came up with open office spaces should be hung by his balls in the town square.
I would never tolerate that, but I work the trades, where fuck off is like hello……
Crying woman should gotten that bitch fired.
Did I mention the African American part. Everybody is scared of her. Plus later I found out there’s a back story of other bullying on her part. I ofcourse won’t take it but am powerless to do effect any change.
Claim you’re gay. Or trans.
Does gay or trans beat black? How about gay hispanic muslim trans?
There should be a board game about this.
Maybe the Dems have provided a helpful cheat-sheet along with their “Equality Act”.
Archie Bunker had a list. First you got your blacks. Then you got your chunks. Then you got you spics.
I hear somebody’s doing an All in the Family reboot. I refuse to watch it.
I thought that was one of the Bad News Bears.
I think All In The Family reboot has already been flushed.
I don’t see color, just people who need firing.
A hostile work place is just that. Crying woman could win a lawsuit vs. workplace.
You don’t see color. The Partners do. Black beats crying woman
Typical bully. You stood up to her, so she moved on to an easier mark.
I’ve been through a number of those battles but never, ever had a co-worker talk to me like that. The battles always revolved around HVAC and the women always won, but they never complained about my fan.
Oh yeah. I always tell the “it’s freezing in here” people to put on a sweater
I’ve been at least one office where people in the same row were running a space heater or fans. If you ever wanted to start an argument, just walk by and mention the office temperature was too hot/too cold and walk away.
I once sat next to a woman who used a space heater, even in the summer. I hated it but she was pretty hot and barely wore any clothes so it was a net plus.
That call center eventually banned space heaters after several incidents with circuit breakers flipping from too many being turned on. It was also a center where I saw someone with more interest in keeping a row of the call center up then his life. Circuit breaker was flipped, we make sure there’s no plugged in space heaters, flip the breaker, and the breaker flips again, one guy tries to hold it open and you can hear the buzzing. It eventually flips back to closed.
We eventually found out that someone had some gum wrapped in foil, and the foil wrapper fell behind their desk and landed across the two prongs of a surge protector.
Roger Stone is apparently relying on the debunked theory that the DNC email hack was an inside job, which was debunked by the Mueller report which definitely debunked it. Did I mention that this theory has been debunked?
So question for any lawyerly types, is there anything to this? Could this strategy be used to get more details about the supposed hack and Crowdstrike’s role? Could it work?
The MJ CEO is right from Central Casting, ain’t she.
I thought there were serious questions about the Russian hack theory, and some technical reasons to believe it was an inside job.
Of course, when the DNC destroys their server so no one can confirm one way or the other, well, litigants are allowed to make adverse inferences.
I’m interested in knowing how the hackers downloaded the bulk of the emails almost three weeks after Crowdstrike set up shop – and how Crowdstrike, whose slogan is “Breaches Stop Here”, could possibly have any customers left if that was truly the case.
No one seems interested in asking the NSA about it.
Heard an interview with an ex NSA guy. He said if it was hacked and that amount of info had flowed out of that system they would have seen it immediately because they watch for that kind of thing.
It was an inside job. It seems pretty obvious Seth Rich downloaded on a memory stick or something like that and walked it out of the front door then handed it off to the Wikileaks guy. It is also pretty obvious that someone at the DNC figured out that what Rich had done.
A hog farm in august stinks less than this story.
Fucking Austria, man.
I thought the flowers were a nice touch.
So let’s piss off your base in a state you can’t afford to lose in 2020. Totally not retarded. Send them to Connecticut you idiot.
https://hotair.com/archives/2019/05/17/new-plan-illegal-migrants-send-florida/
The article says they have the Border Patrol stations to handle it. Maybe Connecticut doesn’t.
I’m not sure I buy into that. They’ve been dumping illegals in border cities that are quite red. Given the reasons why it’s happening, I think it could work the other way.
Sounds like a practical measure, not a political one. South Florida has long experience in handling waves of immigrants, and is majority Spanish speaking.
I get that but is that really going to matter to the nimby’s on election day?
You guys might get a kick out of Robby being roasted as a white supremacist apoligizer by a huffpost scumbag. Article of him testifying before Congress on some hate crime panel is on Reason. His milquetoast statement has triggered some lefties. Just goes to show that you can’t appease or reason with commies.
I hope he’s banned from Twitter and Facebook, along with everybody else who writes for Reason. Wake up, motherfuckers.
It’s HuffPo. What else do you expect from derptown.

Get to the important part, Robby – did AOC hate you because your hair is nicer than hers?
