Good morning my Glibs and Gliberinas! And what a glorious morning it is for everyone! The hyper emotional children that is known as the modern Democrat Party are screaming for impeachment after Mueller’s statements from yesterday. I hope they do at the same time all the documents are unclassified that shows the whole Russian hoax was created by and perpetuated by Fusion GPS working on behalf of Hillary and various bad actors in the intelligence community. The contrast of their weak charges of obstruction against that of the reveal of evidence proving that the entire thing was an attempted coup would be fantastic beyond words.
Louisiana passes its own abortion heartbeat bill.
Cub’s batter becomes emotional after accidentally hitting a young child with a foul ball.
Cuomo brothers still battling over who can be the bigger dipshit.
Federal agencies push back on claim that they sanctioned private border wall construction.
Meh, I don’t care. If I ever happen to be at the shithead’s grave, I’ll take a long piss on it.
Florida Teacher writes WTF on student’s science assignment.
That’s all I got for today. I’ll leave you with a song and move along with my day.
“Florida Teacher writes WTF on student’s science assignment.”
I thought that was a scientific term. Just like SWAG is another such term…
Hello banjos and happy Thursday!
Also, this sounds like a bunch of parents that are pissed their kid got called out for mediocre ot stupid work, and now are looking to cash out on a nice lawsuit or the fame they think going public with this stupid shit will bring them.
Mornin’
I’m pretty sure I wrote a couple essays in high school that would have well-deserved that remark.
As a parent I would be absolutely fine with a comment like that. Anything that bad from the teacher means exponentially worse from me.
It’s just unprofessional. I don’t want anything to happen to the teacher other than someone explaining just that.
We all make professional mistakes, this doesn’t rank particularly high however.
I think I would just circle the comment and make my own “WTF is this?” in response.
If the teacher can’t be degrading in a more professional and erudite manner, then they probably shouldn’t be teaching.
Teachers are professionals? At what?
An argument I’ve been known to make mostly tongue in cheek is that any “profession” that is unionized isn’t a profession.
Whining?
Government schoolteachers really hate it when you point out to them that they’re low-level bureaucrats. Cops too, FWIW.
Babysitting.
I’m pretty sure that I did. I’m also pretty sure that I didn’t run to Mommy in tears over my fuck up because that would have made the situation much, much worse for me.
I did it once. And when i got home and told my mom the teacher had given me hell for doing poor work and told me she had been disappointed, my mom beat my ass and told me the teacher was right.
Times sure have fucking changed.
I remember my middle school teacher who hated my guts and told me I was a cheater (she had no evidence of this at all of course) who wouldn’t even be able to graduate. Didn’t cry home to mom or pop about that shit and took care of it myself.
OT – I just spend 2 hours last night in my Japanese class working on the causative form. Have I ever mentioned just how ridiculous this language is?
Naturally, since you are directly influencing someone you generally only use this form with social equals or inferiors like children. Further, the grammar changes depending on if the verb is transitive or intransitive. Nice…
For everyone else – the whole transitive or intransitive property of verbs isn’t particularly important, but in Japanese it most certainly is. And for an English speaker it is a real pain in the neck.
Wait what does this transitive thing have to do with dudes that compete in female sports winning?
Oh yes…the T/IT verbs, lord how I hated studying them. Also causative passive form is a real treat.
Good work, Sensei, hope your learning of the moonrunes keeps going well.
I was accused of cheating twice. Once in trigonometry because my friend and I would blaze through our work and then play games on our graphic calculators. She was convinced we had special programs or notes on our calculators which gave us all the answers. God what a moron, the entire course was built around using a graphic calculator. Once you knew what buttons to press, it wasn’t hard at all.
And then in AP lit because the teacher would grade the notes we took while reading books. I borrowed my girlfriend’s (she went to a different school) copy of the Great Gatsby and she had already written all over it. I didn’t know until the night before that the teacher was going to grade fucking notes in a book, so I half-assed stuck like 10 sticky notes in the book AND disclosed all of the other notes in the book were not my own. Didn’t matter, she still accused me of plagiarism.
SMDH, what a bunch of asshole teachers ya had.
When I was in Algebra II, someone stole the final. About six students got perfect scores, including me. Only I didn’t cheat. Well the teacher said I must have cheated because I showed no work; I just wrote down the answers. I told him that was because I did the problems in my head. So he made me stay after school and wrote four problems on the chalkboard. Then he told me to solve them without doing any work on paper. Aced all four of them. Motherfucker.
Were you charged with “obstruction of justice” anyway because you defended yourself against a baseless claim?
Algebra II was the first time “Always Show Your Work” came up, or just hoping this was the teacher who would finally budge over mental math?
The general scientific unit of measurement for small displacements is the RCH.
Ah yes. My Japanese boss like to use that one. Usually with a large accented exclamation and request for Cheryl to come over and help him out with the measurement.
It helped that he had fuck-you money and didn’t care if he got fired.
If you go less crude, you can get your silly measure to catch on. Fermi managed to make the barn a real unit of measure.
Brett: “Oh, I thought this meant ‘what’s this failure?’. My bad.”
My calculus teacher liked to use the word BOGUS for that.
Did the teacher also say sometimes your work was EPIC?
I got “plagiarism” written in small script on the margin of one of my History papers. Yes, I did use an encyclopedia entry and tried to word-smith my way into a “Gentleman’s C” because I put the assignment off until the last moment. To be fair, I was supporting myself and living away from home at the time. Being a 16 year-old shit-lord wasn’t easy but there were times that made up for it like when my English teacher gave me an interim report card which I signed and handed right back to her.
Enh, probably fake anyway.
Ok, so if this really happened and wasn’t just an online version of Munchausen by proxy and assuming the work was that bad I am totally on the teachers side with this.
Encouragement takes many forms and sometimes the most important form of encouragement is to be hit upside the head with a clue-by-four. If the kid is capable of more and produces absolute garbage on an assignment this kind of a private not quite put down of a response can be very effective in spurring the student to try harder next time.
All the people saying it was unprofessional, sorry I simply disagree sometimes you need to be told to get your head screwed on straight and I find this a perfectly acceptable way to do it.
Yeah, I mostly agree with this. There are students that need this kind of feedback. A young leap was one. Maybe an older Leap too.
But in any case, no fucking sympathy for the mom.
HER PERMANENT RECORD!!!
I hope you know this will go down on your permanent record
Oh yeah?
PERMANENT RECORD
Is this threat still being used? Serious question.
Never had an employer or anyone want to see this “permanent record”. If its kept by a government functionary no one will ever see it again.
Good morning, Banjos!
NOFX!!!
When in Minnesota and you got a drinking quota
What a way to start the day!
I can appreciate it but it’s not winding down after a long night’s work music for me. What do I know? I’m just a lowly Verdelak…
Seeing them Sunday night, I’m looking forward to it.
Sweet!
Don’t get hurt!
I’m going to try not to, but it’s going to be a long weekend. Friday the fest starts at 17:00 and goes to midnight, Saturday and Sunday there’s a beer fest from 12:00 until around 14:00 and then concerts until midnight. Went with the VIP tickets so there’s another bar, extra food area, seating, and (most importantly) bathrooms.
Mornin’
“I blame the President.” — Woke Charmed
Not numbering this one because it’s not my thought, it’s simply the most beautiful article I’ve ever read in a newspaper:
FBI targets prostitution bosses in D.C.’s Logan, Thomas Circles, a busy zone called ‘The Blade’
Man, this is worth reading from beginning to end. Highlights:
A pimp to one of his ladies complaining she doesn’t earn enough:
““U did so much to prove u a real ho that u couldn’t ever turn back,” one of his texts said. “I built my name mainly on how well I pimped on u. . . . All this is off of The work me and u put in on our rise to the top.””
On your chances on moving up in the business:
“The court documents say Parks, 33, told the woman she could be promoted from walking Logan Circle to working upscale strip clubs to being a “sugar queen” to a rich “sugar daddy.”
“It’s not just what you see in front of you,” Parks told the woman, according to the complaint. “The game is way bigger than that.””
A description of one of the pimps, known on the streets as “Milton Bradley”:
“Parks appears a throwback to an era of fedoras and top hats, loud suits, gaudy jewelry and oversize sunglasses. There are pictures of him attending “pimp balls” decked out in royal regalia, holding staffs and customized chalices called “pimp cups.””
It ain’t easy being a pimp.
Is that cause a pimp’s love is not like that of the squares?
You could go to a pimp ball and observe firsthand. Where do these balls take place? Do you have to bring your own pimp cup?
Drive there in yo pimp mobile with a strong pimp hand is all that’s needed man.
If your tux shop rents purple tuxes, you can probably also rent a cup and cane there.
What about those platform shoes with the transparent high heels that have a goldfish swimming in them so you can really stand out?
+1 Sucka
Apparently not.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_zKCUG20xs
Milton Bradley?! The center fielder?!
Not the manufacturer of “Twister” and “The Game of Life”?
Milton Bradley’s got a hot one,
It’s the “Twister”,
Spin the spinner and call the dots,
Twister ties you up into knots!
It’s Twister, yeah Twister! By M.B. !!
I was watching that game last night – hope the kid is okay.
Reminds me a of a game I watched long ago where Jim Rice literally saved a kid’s life.
Deadspin had these updates;
Update (10:01 p.m. ET): The Houston Chronicle could not track down the child or her family, but they did find the fan who caught the ball. He said there was no blood on the ball, and when he went up to find the family, the girl seemed alert and conscious.
Update (11:37 p.m. ET): The Astros say that the fan was taken to the hospital, but don’t add any further details.
Not a lot of details. Hopefully lack of details means things were okay.
Even if things turn out fine, similar incidents to this have made hitters/pitchers permanently unable to regain their former prowess at the plate or on the mound. Ray Chapman’s death after being hit by a pitch in 1920 led to the spread of batting helmets, and also a rule change that required umpires to replace dirty balls. Changed the game, since the advantage turned to the hitters for the 1920s.
A similar incident at Yankee Stadium is the reason the Yankees have extended the safety netting beyond the far ends of the dugouts.
I think there’s a new kind of safety netting in use that’s thinner the old kind. I was at Nationals Park a couple weeks ago and was unable to even see the netting from my seat. If so, there’s no real reason not to extend it anywhere a foul ball is likely to travel.
They tried making invisible nets out of carbon nanotubes, but the ball just sliced through it like a cheese slicer and ball shrapnel went into the crowd.
And you don’t even want to know what happens to a fielder running into the net after a foul ball.
Don Lemon

@donlemon
#RobertMueller, “If we had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so.” Read that over and over and draw your own conclusion.
I conclude that Don Lemon is a retard that doesn’t understand that you cannot prove a negative and/or is a mendacious twat that ignores or doesn’t understand that the American legal system is premised on the concept of innocent until proven guilty.
He’s received his marching orders. There is no going back for him and his ilk.
These people are fucking evil. This is nothing more than the old tactics used by Lyndon Johnson whom – if I recall correctly – told an aid to put out in the news that his opponent was a sheep fucker. When the aid pointed out there was no evidence to back that up Johnson purportedly told him that by the time that came to bear everyone would already associate that dude with fucking sheep and it wouldn’t matter.
These fuckers, under direction from the weaponized Obama admin and the corrupt Clinton people, tried to entrap trump campaign members (at least 5 times that we know of) with false accusations. When that failed to work, they escalated it to 24/7 spying, only to lose an election they had rigged for Clinton. In a panic they then tried a coup. it has all failed, and they are desperately trying to run out the clock hoping a new democrat controlled government will allow them to bury the facts. And the media has been not just complicit, but a key part of this strategy because they are invested in protecting the corrupt democratic party machine.
Cry for the republic we have lost and remember Obama promised us he was going to fundamentally change it (he sure put the final nail in that coffin for us).
This can’t be said enough.
YOU CAN’T PROVE A NEGATIVE
Mueller ought to be disbarred.
Mueller tried his best to entrap trump so they could file obstruction charges, but then realized he had dug a hole already too deep and presented that 448 page work of fiction as his out. He can’t testify because he is worried he will be asked when he realized the whole collusion story was bull (he knew before he took the appointment and still spent close to 3 years trying to force Trump to make a mistake that would allow them to call obstruction of justice on him), that they will ask why he never looked at the people that really were working with the Russians (the Clinton campaign and the people she hired to create the false narrative and that supposed dossier), or that someone will point out that the role of a special council was to file charges if a crime was committed or exonerate, and not produce a political piece of fiction hoping to allow the corrupt machine to keep hiding their criminal activitry.
If we had confidence that Don Lemon fucked his neighbor’s dog, we would have said so.
Don Lemon did not*
Blergh *flips table*
That’s where you draw the line? Probable cause for launching the investigation? Going public with contents of compulsed documents and/or compulsed testimony when the conclusion of the report is to not indict?
I agree with your commentary 100%, but hate the phrase “you cannot prove a negative”. Because you can. It is often done in math and logic.
Fine, he’s making an argument from ignorance.
You can prove a specific negative you cannot prove a general one
Do banannas cause cancer yes or no?
You can prove that they do by finding a single cancer that was caused by banannas, the problem is you cannot inspect all cancers and determine their causes so you can never say for sure that it is proven they don’t. You just might not have found the evidence yet.
Did banannas cause that specific cancer yes or no?
Here you can prove the negative by finding a cause(s) for the cancer and banannas not being on the list
When it comes to criminal matters it is the same, you can prove you were not in the room on the night of the murder but it is effectively impossible to prove that you were not responsible for or involved with the murder
He’s a partisan hack trying to obscure the fact that he does not have the evidence to convict even if he did charge
Cub’s batter becomes emotional after accidentally hitting a young child with a foul ball.
This wouldn’t happen if we had commonsense baseball control.
Or if people would pay attention instead of dozing off at the ballpark. Hockey, same deal.
Well, it was a toddler. Of course the dad should have been seated between the kid and the batter just in case.
That was my gist.
“Cuomo brothers still battling over who can be the bigger dipshit.”
This is an asshole that has armed guards protecting his ass from a well deserved beatdown by the slew of people his family has fucked over with their progressive politics in their pursuit of power telling someone else they don’t deserve that right, because armed unwashed plebes pose a threat to the marxist agenda. Fuck this cunt (that is Chris Cuomo for those that might not realize he is the douchebag in this story).
Why your new car looks like every other new car – boring. When I have the cash, I’ll find somebody to assemble a Factory Five coup for me.
A coup d’état?
He’s a dork, but he’s right in this case. Some low production vehicles can get waivers for the safety bullshit and so remain sexy as hell, but the days of unique and iconic designs are over.
It’s why bringatrailer.com is a daily destination for me.
They even have one for you, Drake!
It used to be I could tell the different makes ‘n’ models of cars and trucks by the shape of the taillights. With the rise of the CUV, I just stopped caring. I have a hard time – at first glance – the difference between an Ford Escape, a Honda CRV, or a Toyota RAV-4. Add in the Equinox – it would make a great detective car because they just are indistinguishable from the rest of the CUV blobs out there. But people continue to buy them in droves.
I noticed the last time I went to a car show that people flock to the sports cars – even MINI Coopers – but even the (now 11 yo?) Dodge Challenger, the Jags, etc – and wish they could be driving one. But the reality is the majority end up buying something like an Equinox because it is the great compromise vehicle. Sure it doesn’t have any serious offroad chops, can’t handle, can’t accelerate like a sports car, or brake like one, and it can’t haul much compared to a truck. But it marks off enough boxes that it’s the “safe” buy.
The Audi, BMW, and Jag SUVs look just like Kia to me. I often wonder why people pay twice as much for nicer seats.
Panel gaps, interior fitment and marginally better quality plastics.
Amazing how far the Koreans have come.
Swap the badges and see if Joe-consumer can tell the difference.
We have a black Mazda CX-9. In a parking lot, it’s indistinguishable from the Hyundai Santa Fe, Lexus whatever, Kia Sorento, etc. I know this because I have gone up to the wrong car on multiple occasions.
Be sure and pick a good state to register the thing!
I’ve contemplated making one as a retirement project, but kit car registration varies widely by state. Something tells me the People’s Republic of NJ won’t make it easy.
New cars all look like eggs after a radical diet. I understand the reasoning behind this but it doesn’t make them look any better knowing that they’re safer.
I’ll just buy a V-8 built on a truck frame from Ford or Chevy for the foreseeable future. Hopefully, the government won’t figure out a way to ruin that.
They already did. Obama’s cafe standard hike was so extreme that they flimsied up everything under the cars and trucks. We’ve had ball joints pop out from potholes because the control arms are so weak. Fleet just bought about 50 new trucks and I’d be shocked if they’re any good 5 or 8 years from now. Contrast that with the 97s we still work on here.
I have a 1994 Ford F-150 4×4 with only 68,000 miles on it. it has a 5.0 liter V8. Runs like a dream and solid as heck. It’s all made of steel.
In the late ’40s/’50s it was a rite of passage to identify all the brands and models of cars. We spent hours discussing all the different attributes of the various cars, as if we were experts. Even today my son sends old pictures of early cars for identification. I can’t identify them all but I get a lot of them correct. In today’s world if it isn’t spelled out somewhere I have no idea and I don’t care.
Could we at least have some colors other than light gray, dark gray, white, and black?
Looking to buy another car for EF, given the repair bill (shock-a-roo) for her 2003 MINI is higher than the value of the car. She’s sentimental about that old car, but one of favorite things about it was the color: yellow with black racing stripes. Finding something fun ‘n’ fast with a real honest-to-goodness color other than the ones you mentioned is – well – difficult.
Wranglers still come in a ton of colors. I can’t think of another model that does.
To fix a broken clutch cable?
Let me guess – engine out service?
Wasn’t the cable – the clutch (and the clutch cylinder?) need to be replaced. Still waiting for the full list of what they want to fix. $2700 is the bare min to get the car back on the road. $5400 to make it “100% good”. Given the age of the car (but only 95k miles) hard to say to either one of those choices.
I’d be tempted to fix it with that mileage. $5k sucks, but it’s sales tax on a new one!!
True – and the new ones are too BMW – even ride/handle like one. First gen MINI (2002-2006) at least had some Rover / British bones in it. Great handling car and that supercharger whine… too much fun.
Ahh, hydraulic clutch. Seems to be the preferred way of the Germans.
In the old days the Japanese tended to use cables, not sure what they do now.
Mustangs were directly coupled, not sure what the last two or so generations did. As the power increased there was only so much mechanical leverage they could create so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are hydraulic now too.
Here you go.
Also this.
Nice choices!
I found your new 2002
I like my WRX STI.
This last season of The Grand Tour they really went beyond all the nonsense with “supercars” and got nostalgic for cars that were actually fun to drive.
Thanks for that article. I’ve been bitching about this for 20 years. Fucking sea of jelly beans. CA made it even worse by going all in on cash for clunkers and going full mafia on registration fees. It’s rare to see a car less than 15 years old around here.
You need this.
Said it before, but all new cars look like my shampoo bottle tipped on its side.
Good morning everyone. I just caught up on the H&H double-header (wow) and the comments.
Ownbestenemy – nice production values on your kid’s video. He has talent. Liked his question to the teacher. Heh.
Tulip – good luck. Dating sucks. Don’t settle for less than you deserve.
Only here can we not address the issues around school shootings
What does that have to do with a woman using a gun to protect herself from a would-be rapist?
Because the woman must sacrifice that ability to protect herself in pursuit of the imaginary good of gun control.
“Federal agencies push back on claim that they sanctioned private border wall construction.”
Ummmm… why exactly does DHS need to get involved at any level if a private citizen decides to build a fence (even a very large one) on his own property?
Oh, the FYTW clause. I forgot.
Zoning? (call-back to SP article)
Remember, you can be stopped, interrogated, and searched at will anywhere within a 100 mile zone of the border. So in the larger scheme, this is small potatoes.
I’m slightly amused that the Department of Homeland Security is enforcing the *lack* of a wall around the homeland.
The neighbor directly behind me built an actual stockade around their property ~70 years ago. 12′ foot high wooden poles with the tops sawed into spikes. The grandson tore it all down when he inherited.
There’s a property near my in-laws that built a compound with I’d guess 20′ high concrete walls. There’s cannon or some artifacts placed on top of the supports spaced every 15 or 20 feet. There’s also a giant Japanese flag flying over it. Kind of strange for the middle of bumfuck nowhere VA, but it’s neat to look at while driving by.
Hopefully not this one…
FLORIDA TEACHER WROTE ‘WTF IS THIS?’ ON STUDENT’S SCIENCE ASSIGNMENT
At least she is not taking indecent liberties with the kid. (that we know of…)
Speaking of WTF?-
Earlier in May, one of America’s largest teacher’s unions took issue with the treatment and workload of teachers.
There have been teachers’ strikes in Arizona, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kentucky, Colorado and North Carolina during the 2018–2019 school year.
The American Federation of Teachers, which represents 1.7 million people, criticized Education Secretary Betsy DeVos for saying that industrial action was unfairly undermining students’ education.
I read the article to see what could have incited such a mean response, like “climate science denialism” or some other heinous form of wrongthink.
What I get is no information about the facts of the matter, just how overworked and oppressed teachers are, and some bullshit about how mean and heartless DeVos is.
D-. NO CREDIT.
How the fuck does McCain get a ship named after him already? He’s barely worm food.
The ship was named after him even before he died. He took a page out of John Murtha’s book and made sure any money he had to appropriate somehow advertised his brand.
Ahh, purportedly names merely after his father and grandfather only but has now been rededicated for him as well. Fuck that pos.
How did he get so many chances with expensive airplanes despite being a complete and utter fuckup?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_John_S._McCain_and_Alnic_MC_collision
It’s a rare man that can crash so many planes and walk away.
A giant “thank you” from the military-industrial complex?
Officially, the ship is named for his father, John McCain Sr. Unofficially, it’s named after the senator.
It was rededicated last year to him as well now.
Missed that nugget. Thanks for the update.
If it had been a garbage scow, I’d be for it.
“No, we’ll be landing on the USS Walter Mondale; she’s a laundry ship.“
If I had confidence that Robert Muller didn’t engage in torrid, incestuous anal threesomes with his two daughters, I would have said so.
Nice
They put on strap-ons and ride his sorry ass?
I can’t say with certainty that this didn’t happen.
“Impeachment”
No wonder the resemblance to Eeyore! “Oh Bear…”
Going OT early. I spent last night visiting a factory that makes amplifiers for hifi. Their entry level products start at $30k. If you want anything that won’t cause them to laugh at you behind your back, get ready to pony up $250k and up.
If you’re gonna shitlord, then really shitlord.
I knew a guy who spent that kind of cash on his home sound system. I have to admit that I couldn’t tell any difference when he played it for me.
This reminds me of some idiot that once told me his shoes – same brand as mine – were better because I had bought mine at a sale for half the price he paid for his.
LOL
We had a lab technician who would always parade around her latest high dollar fashion accessories from Nordstrom’s.
But in her case I’m pretty sure she stole them.
Inquiring Glibs need to know where she fell on the Hot/Crazy matrix.
She was very cute, but definitely a violation of the line. Probably kind of stabby.
PT Barnum is still kicking I see.
For that kind of money I better blow my load each and every time I turn it on.
Meanwhile given what I’ve read recently I’d take three Benchmark AHB2s for my 5.1 system and call it day.
How many WPC? Tube or solid state?
SS, and in all fairness, they will drive kilowatts into stupidly designed speakers that have sub-1-ohm dips in their impedance.
Would be curious to know the manufacturer name.
It’s like he was trolling you, LH.
Story of my life. ::sniff::
I don’t want it to be searchable, but if I said “successor to Forbidden Planet with an Italian name,” you’ll figure it out.
ex-designer of “rhymes with smell” ?
Bingo.
I’ll be interviewing him for a magazine article.
I’ve never heard any of their products. My pal Chris said their 100W amp was good – but hardly anything he would pay $$ for compared to a good tube amp. Only big SS amp I’ve owned from that era was a Threshold S/500 (bought for $200).
His new stuff is definitely done as a fashion statement. Lots of polished copper and Captain Nemo meters.
It gave me great satisfaction to note that I have better instrumentation in my home lab. Less of it, but higher level. “Oh, you don’t have the latest B series analyzer? How sad for you.”
I love the Captain Nemo meters!
Even if I were given one for free, SP would be decidedly unhappy for me to lug one into our living room.
By “decidedly unhappy,” I mean “rusty tin can lids.”
Is it luggable or do you need a hand truck and an engine hoist for placement?
Hand truck and engine hoist. This is seriously heavy stuff. Their small amp is 120 pounds for each channel, and it’s not physically large, so two people can’t actually handle it without bumping each other and consequent major disaster. The big amps are in the 500-600 pound range.
So maybe hire six or eight really buff guys for the installation to ease the pain for SP?
Chianti?
Do you need to buy a $10,000 network cable for them?
I love the forum discussions where people claim to hear the difference between sets of high end speaker cables. “Silver is more bright!” “The copper has a flatter frequency response and is smoother!”
Of course double-blind testing shows no difference.
Double blind testing obscures the differences that everyone knows are there. C’mon, where’s your sense of creativity?

Reacting to Special Counsel Bob Mueller’s statement about the two-year Russia probe, Senators Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) said Congress should begin impeachment proceedings.
“Robert Mueller’s statement makes it clear: Congress has a legal and moral obligation to begin impeachment proceedings immediately,” Booker, a 2020 presidential candidate and member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote Wednesday on Twitter. “This Administration has continued to stonewall Congress’s oversight. Beginning impeachment proceedings is the only path forward.”
Booker hasn’t expressed support for impeachment in the past.
Harris, a 2020 presidential candidate, argued that it is a “congressional obligation” to start impeachment proceedings.
“What Robert Mueller basically did was return an impeachment referral. Now it is up to Congress to hold this president accountable,” Harris, member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, tweeted on Wednesday. “We need to start impeachment proceedings. It’s our constitutional obligation.”
Fascinating. Harris was already running on acting dictatorial if Congress wouldn’t give her what she wanted. Now they both are openly running against the basic premises of American law*. But, you know, “orange man bad”.
*standard disclaimer regarding impeachment being a political process.
DO IT
You and I both know they are talking though to raise campaign money and wouldn’t dare do this.
They can’t do anything about this. They are stupid senators.
Impeachment would be the most bone-headed political move they could pull right now. It’s an unpopular move with the voters and would give Trump a great boost with his supporters due to a “rally around the flag” type effect. Plus even if they manage to pass impeachment in the House, there is 0% chance they can remove him. Removal is serious business, and as such requires not a simple majority but rather a 2/3 majority. That means Trump ain’t going anywhere unless 20 Republican Senators are persuaded to remove him, which won’t happen. The leftists giving their base false hope that they can remove Trump are fraudsters.
I watched Archer S10, E1 last night. Didn’t suck! Much better premise than previous season.
OK, now I will have to go back on my promise to give up on it after that shitshow they had last season.
I hope you will. This review sums it up nicely.
Thanks for your service Tonio!
Oh shit – I forgot. On demand here I come.
I caught it as well and thought it was pretty good. The only bad thing is that my dvr automatically played S1 E1 immediately after.
At least it was the same show. “I mean, obviously if someone turns on autoplay to binge a series, that means play whatever we’re advertising hardest after the finale episode.”
Here’s a headline I never thought I’d read.
https://freebeacon.com/politics/beto-popsicle-bandit/
My life in sex: ‘I’ve been told that, as a fat girl, I should be grateful for attention’
Yeah, I’m sure that’s all true.
I always wonder how these people that think everyone else is somehow at fault for their misery never see that the problem is really them.
How fat we talking about?
Men, stop kidding yourselves that women aren’t hurt by how you behave. Do better. Be better. – no man was ever hurt by a woman
“How fat we talking about?”
Have you ever fucked someone on a waterbed, Pie? She is big enough that when you fuck her the experience is the same.
Some girls that are just a teensy bit chubby can be hellafun! Think tactile bouncy castle…
Are we talking “John-level” chubby or just with enough handles to grab on to?
Teensy-bit chubby. Think Mollie Hemingway. That’s my personal limit.
Chances are she’s probably a terrible judge of character assuming all these dates she’s true about how all those dates went. One would think you’d learn after the first year or so, yeah?
I think this has a lot more to do with desperation than not being able to judge other people’s character. It sounds like she can only land people that would stoop to that level of low in a pinch and has not figure out that is the problem. I am sure she consoles herself after being used with a few quarts of ice cream and several bags of chips.
You bring a good point. I used to have a roommate who this lady reminds me of based on her experiences. She just couldn’t stand being single for any period of time. We (our mutual friends included) would tell her to take it easy, enjoy being single for a bit to get your shit together and figure out what went wrong, but nope, she liked to keep jumping from one dude to the next.
We obviously don’t keep in touch anymore.
Well there is one constant in all of her failed dates…
Ahem, “crisps”.
I guess those have fewer calories bloke?
*calouries
Get over yourself lady.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/3371172/Fat-women-more-likely-to-have-had-sex.html
The headline’s a bit misleading and not sure the numbers are statistically relevant, but one thing it does imply is that fat women are at least as likely to get laid as skinny ones.
In every sexual encounter I have had the final choice was made by the woman. Granted, I discriminate in my choices, but the woman was always the one to know there would be sex or not. Fat chicks still have that power. What they don’t have is the power to attract the guy more attractive women do by virtue of her looks, but they still will be the ones that decide if sex will happen.
In this chick’s case it sounds like she made the decision, but then was pissed because she expected the guy to actually want to stay with her once they sobered up.
But less likely to get a call the next day.
something something moped
Nods…
“Vraaaaaaaaaam, Vraaaaaaaaaam”!
“There was the guy who came back to my flat, where we started undressing, then he said he needed the loo. I realised he’d left when I heard the front door click.”
This is a good move.
I think this woman has a case of everybody’s-fault-but-mine.
I had a high school teacher write on one of my assignments “If the grade were for BS, you would have gotten an A! -0-“. Other students laughed when I showed it to them. And she was right. Nothing else happened.
I took a physics seminar in college where the entire grade was based on the lecture that you had to give at some point in the semester.
Some poor schmuck lacrosse recruit thought it was a gut course and signed up. When he gave his poorly prepared lecture, the professor proceeded to ask him questions that lured him deeper and deeper into more and more verifiably false statements. The rest of us just sat there for a half hour quietly grimacing while the prof made a complete asshole out of him without a single criticism.
WTF: Way To Fail
With a little luck by 15th of June both my bathroom and my kitchen will be complete.
So how are you relieving yourself when there is neither a toilet nor a sink to go in?
Do the undead need to go to the bathroom?
I have a toilet and a sink, they are not located in the bathroom but in well the toilet room. I am missing part of my bathtub. I can shower but the water gets everywhere, particularly in my bedroom because the people tiling bathrooms in Romania are incapable of creating a slope towards the drain in the bathroom floor.
Ooh la la, look at the fancy European who has separate rooms for toilet and bath.
The couple of times I lived in Germany for a few months I did find that to be a nice feature. It really makes sense.
My flat in San Francisco had that. Handy with 4 unrelated dudes sharing the place.
Who could have seen this coming?
“I have taught evolution and genetics at Williams College for about a decade. For most of that time, the only complaints I got from students were about grades. But that all changed after Donald Trump’s election as president. At that moment, political tensions were running high on our campus. And well-established scientific ideas that I’d been teaching for years suddenly met with stiff ideological resistance.”
Is there no end to orange man’s evul?
Seriously, a bunch of fucking spoiled cunts paying $50K-75K a year to apparently not just avoid learning anything that will make them employable, but hell bent on not learning anything based on any real science and of value, acting out should be one of the signs of the apocalypse.
College is for personal discovery not for learning to be a cog in the capitalist machine,.
I have concluded that college, one of the biggest expenses assumed by those that attend it, is the one investment most people try to get the least value from (unless you calculate said value as how much of that time was spent drunk or engaged in useless activity).
Tromfin Lysenko?
Has the professor told any of the adolescent idiots to get the hell out of his class? No? Then what the hell is he surprised about.
Republicans unruffled by Trump’s dictatorial tendencies
“Donald Trump who, like Adolph Hitler, actually is a racist white nationalist”
If I say it enough times, it will be true!
Projection. It’s all they have.
I guess once you succumb to the proggie cult having a serious think about how you allowed that stupid propaganda to delude you simply is not an option. How sad it must be to be so invested in a dogma/ideology that is constantly wrong but has no room for fixing any of that.
Also investigating and locking up his opponents

Obama siccing federal agencies on political opponents and hostile news media was totally within the law and norms.
What a mendacious asshole.
Obama MEANT well! He was trying to prevent Trump-Putin!
He was more akin to those uncredentialed shysters from late night info-mercials that wear a lab coat to try to sell you hard-on drugs.
Bill Nye The Science Guy?
Obama did say that he didn’t have any scandals…that embarrassed him.
“everything Obama did was well within the law and norms employed by other presidents”
Oh Good Lord.
Justice Department’s bank settlement slush fund
A lot of people should have gone to prison for that one.
That’s some high quality projection there.
Any takers on voting for who was the last president of the United States who in your opinion did not overstep his (assuming they all self-identified as cis-male) authority?
Coolidge? I’m sure someone could dig up something on him. Resisting that power would be difficult,
Licensing of aircraft and of radio broadcasters? “Le meglio è l’inimico del bene”
Quello e sciuro.
Calvin Coolidge
Drawing a blank, here.
Coolidge. Did anyone else mention him?
He signed off on some shitty immigration stuff IIRC, but that was Congress’ baby.
The dead one with the wooden teeth?
I can’t believe you all are overlooking Coolidge.
This guy must be a Lehigh Professor of the Progjective arts.
” everything Obama did was well within the law and norms employed by other presidents”
Nixon just called and said he wants the office back cause he only dreamed of doing what Obama did, and did often.
Don’t sully my alma mater like that.

And the rest of that is just out of context and/or lying garbage.
It’s Not Your Imagination: The Journalists Writing About Antifa Are Often Their Cheerleaders
I hope everyone who says they are anti-fascists cause that is what they call themselves gets punched in the throat by one.
Antifa = Anti-First-Ammendment.
[golf clap]
Cheerleaders seems to me to undersell it. They’re the propaganda arm of antifa
Cuomo-
“Of course I apologized for this negative attention that was not intended. You asked a question and I answered. That’s what should happen,” Cuomo tweeted. “This place and sadly this issue brings out the worst in too many. No need. Not helpful.”
“I’m sorry you called me out for being stupid. ps- you’re a hater.”
I’m surprised he didn’t just say: “I was praising our freedoms in America”. It would have played better.
But he doesn’t believe in said freedom, at least not for the average person.
Proof that taxes are evil…look at those ABVs. Gah.

How kind of CNN to have an outreach program for people with special needs. Their efforts to include the mentally disabled as their on-air talent is commendable.
Heh, I remember when they wanted to give that porn lawyer a show. Now it is all this shit. I wonder why….
Liberals saying “I own a Gun” is to conservatives as “I have Black friends” is to liberals.
I once heard a lefty friend say I grew up on a farm I had a .22, you don’t need anything bigger than that. I let my conservative farm friends handle that comment.
Obviously not raising hogs on that farm.
Or need to protect livestock/poultry from coyotes, bears, bobcats, feral dogs, or two legged rats.

Re Almora and the foul ball. Did i read correctly, the child is okay?
We recently took in a game at Yankee stadium. We sat 1B line perfect for foul line drives. I was constantly attentive should one come straight for my daughter. I tried to sit to her left but she insisted she wanted this particular seat so I just said to myself make the catch of the year if necessary.
People should be hyper vigilant in those seats.
It was the same in hockey. Sometimes we’d sit behind the net and shots from the blue line sometimes came up like a laser. You were always aware of who was on the ice playing defiense. In my day, a player named Gaston Gingras was notorious for having a wicked heavy slap shot with no aim. The puck hitting the boards would resonate throughout the arena it was so hard.
Anyway, they put up a mesh behind the net in NHL arenas after that poor 14 year-old girl was killed by a puck in Columbus a few years back.
Be attentive is all I can say.
At a former job, we had season tickets to Louisville Bats games (AAA). They were behind the net. We called the first section beyond the net, the death section. I saw some gruesome foul ball hits. When they have to bring out the mop for the blood, it is bad.
Brian Dennehey knows how to survive such things. Hardest part of the head hurts the most.
I hope you all have plenty of popcorn.
While sipping my coffee at 4am I wondered…what new lie today? I was not disappointed. Not only is it a lie but a silly one at that. Trump hid a ship and put tarps over the name because John McCain? Really? I see. A new fabrication every day. It is pretty entertaining to watch.
Drowning shitweasel grasps at straws.

Small talk is cheap: Finland could teach us the art of keeping quiet
That is pretty true. Finns don’t talk much.
Maybe it has something to do with it taking five times as long to say something in Finnish as it does in English,
My departed FiL was a Finn from the UP – second generation. Very quiet guy. Don’t know how he married into a talkative Irish clan; it must have been torture.
Maybe he figured that if everyone else was talking that he wouldn’t have to?
He’d prepare notes for himself on small talk to bring into the conversations – no lie. He kept them on index cards in his back pocket.
LOL – that’s awesome.
Agreed, that’s fantastic. It’s rare that one can find a friend/acquaintance/companion/chum/etc. who is perfectly comfortable just sitting together silently and enjoying the view.
From my understanding finish is so hard to learn, it’s not surprising. But I’ll ask my Bro in Law who lived there for a while.
A people after my own heart. I hate small-talk. I will reply if targeted but I never initiate it.
Shortly after, he tried to pick me up from the same website, having obviously forgotten who I was.

“1/2 You are right. No offense intended. Too short on twitter. “Only in America” are we still debating the legitimate right to protect oneself like you and many others vs sensible way to keep guns from wrong people. Only here can we not address the issues around school shootings”
There is no ‘right or wrong people’ just like there’s no ‘hate or love speech; there’s just speech.
The government has no way to know what’s in people’s hearts and minds. Even if they convince people they can ‘catch’ or prevent some ‘wrong’ people from getting a gun.
And specificy who qualifies and would be classified as ‘wrong’ people. Anyone with mental illness? I don’t like these blanket terms. OCD is considered a mental illness. Would they be considered ‘wrong’?
Like most Democrats, Cuomo is an illiberal jack ass.
“The government has no way to know what’s in people’s hearts and minds. ”
According to most of the proggies I know, when you are able to catch them in a candid moment and they tell the truth about what they believe/feel, they know exactly what is in the hearts of non proggies….
Oh I know. They’re worse than Witch hunters from back in the day.
“Only in America” are we still debating the legitimate right to protect oneself like you and many others vs sensible way to keep guns from wrong people.
I doubt he meant it that way, but this sure reads like a positive for America. As in, nobody else is even thinking about the legitimate rights, and has jumped straight to keeping guns away from the
wrongpeople.Spinning the Industrial Revolution
https://ehsthelongrun.net/2019/05/29/spinning-the-industrial-revolution/
The premise of the article is interesting but they could have skipped this part ” However, many gender historians and scholars of women’s work have contended that spinning, like other occupations dominated by women, was systematically underpaid. “
But of course.
They’re are a lot of reasons certain industries were dominated by women. Part of the reason was that you could pay a young woman less than a man. It’s what gave them the advantage to get the work. What was good work too.
Part of the reason was that you could pay a young woman less than a man.
Yeah, somehow I never hear the feminists shitting their diapers about the lack of female employment in high-wage industries like coal mining or iron smelting.
While there is truth to that, “gender historian” makes me stop listening.
I had a professor who was a feminist economist who trotted out the “wage gap” lie. When a few of us called her out she said, “well I’m talking about comparing male dominated industries with female ones”.she then compared nurse wages and plumber wages because they both lift heavy things and have technical knowledge.
I stopped arguing with her, cause it was my last semester. Even granting get absurd equality between the two it means nothing to economists because supply and demand drive wages.
The nurse one is interesting example just within that profession for supply and demand. I think it was another Glib (Florida Man?) that pointed out male nurses are can get paid at the top and have their choice of shifts just due to their scarcity. The demand side is that male nurses can more safely move immobile patients than female ones, which is an issue in places like the ICU.
I experienced that first hand in the hospital. I was unable to move myself and two tiny female nurses tried to transfer me from a bed to a table for an interventional CT. I’m not a large guy, and it was still a brutal and painful process. They had to slip a board under me and slide me down at an incline. It felt like being hit in the stomach with a sledgehammer when I landed.
The next time, it was two male nurses. They just picked me up and gently set me down. No problem, no pain. Although, it was a little surreal when they set the radio to Michael Jackson as I slipped into unconsciousness from propofol.
As long as it wasn’t Barry White…
You’ve been struck, you’ve been struck by a smooth criminal.
And yet most of these same Republicans support Donald Trump who, like Adolph Hitler, actually is a racist white nationalist.
Oh.
So, what he’s saying is Hitler was no worse than Trump, and did nothing more than say mean things about his opponents.
Thanks for the history lesson, Sparky.
All these Hitler comparisons must be stressful. Imagine the pressure of trying to live up to Hitler.
U.S. think tank shuts down prominent center that challenged climate science
That’s pretty much the nail in the coffin for Cato. I wonder how they plan to write commentary on industry regulation without scientific analysis.

Go BLUES ♫♪♪
Big win for them. This one is going 7.
They’ve outplayed the Bruins 4 of the 6 periods.
Go Blues. Their using their size advantage wisely. I like the battle between beats like Bouwmeester, Edmunston, Parayko and Pietrangelo battling Boston’s nifty, shifty, fast, talented forwards. Conversely, Boston’s agile defense (outside Chara) matching up with St. Louis’s deep and skilled front six.
HATE Marchand (going back to the days he was with Team Canada U-20) and Chara. The rat and the bully.
beasts
We’ve been physical as hell…beating them in to submission is fine by me.
Need to stop taking so many penalties. Marchand – Bergeron – Pastrnak won’t stay quiet forever.
Agreed, some of those penalties are cringe worthy.
I was ok with the two goalie interference calls. You gotta get in Rask’s face or he’ll destroy you.
They’ve been pretty smart with the physical play.
I pray Parayko pounds Marchand into the ice.
As long as they keep taking the body and neutralizing Boston’s speed by keeping the puck, playing deep and high pressure, they have a shot.
Boston is not wired for grit but they can match it if necessary.
Should be a good rest of series.
Binnington will have to tighten it up a little. Same with Rask.
In game one the Blue’s D were ceding the neutral zone, so Boston had their way with them. Last noght they gave them zero tie to get rolling. Makes a big difference.
Bruins can play a heavy game too.
And yes, those two Binnington let in in the first were shit. He was great after that, though.
Pretty much all this.
So “journalists” can write articles where they just quote Amazon reviews?

The is an article in the Romanian press
Trump: ”Nu am avut nimic de-a face cu faptul că Rusia m-a ajutat să fiu ales” which translates “I had nothing to do with the fact that Russia helped me get elected”. I think this is a bit misleading. Thoughts?
A bit? That’s it?
It’s kinda true in that there were independents who voted for Trump out of fear of war with Russia. During the election there was a lot of strong rhetoric coming out against Russia and Russia started doing massive nuclear drills and whatnot.

What a creepy lie to get called out in public on.
No shit. Everyone would assume that he was banging other celeb ass without him saying one way or another.
Also this year Bucharest has one the dubious distinction of most congested traffic in Europe. On the street where my office building is I have a 5 minute walk to the subway. During these 5 minutes, there are days where the cars move about 10 metered. I understand it can take overall 40 minutes to an hour for one mile. Not helping these days is that the goddamn Pope is visiting and a few of the busiest boulevards are closed. Fun.
“goddamn Pope”
Is this akin to an Antipope?
California- defender of the little guy
Other states often look to California, the birthplace of major gig economy companies like Lyft and Uber, regarding how to legislate the changing labor landscape, Dubal said, making the passage of Wednesday’s bill particularly significant.
Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez said on the assembly floor regarding her bill that companies misclassified workers to cut costs and avoid complying with worker protection laws including minimum wage, bargaining rights, and overtime, losing the state “upwards of $8bn a year”.
“Big businesses shouldn’t be able to pass their costs on to taxpayers while depriving workers of the labor law protections they are rightfully entitled to,” Gonzalez in a tweet on Wednesday.
That job sucks. I’d rather see you starve.
“Big businesses shouldn’t be able to pass their costs on to taxpayers”
Honey, you can’t do anything about that. The only way to change that is to change the elasticity of the demand for the product.
So Uber’s long term plan to use a fleet of self-driving cars was merely prudent planning.
Disney’s CEO says it will be “difficult” to film in Georgia if new abortion law implemented, report says
While providing an interview before the dedication of a new “Star Wars” section at Disneyland on Wednesday, Reuters asked Iger if the company would continue to film in the Peach State if the law is implemented. “I rather doubt we will,” he said, according to the outlet. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard. Right now we are watching it very carefully.”
…
The state attracts movie shoots through a 20% base transferable tax credit. In 2018, the film industry supported a total of more than 92,000 local jobs in Georgia and $2.7 billion in direct spending, according to state officials. If Disney pulled its production, those numbers would most certainly take a hit. Some of Disney’s largest budgeted and most successful films were shot in the state, including record-breakers “Black Panther” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
IOW, when the backlash dies in a week or two, he can continue collecting those sweet credits.
We really need to get to mandatory birth control and baby licences to get rid of this whole abortion debate
I mean Disney needs to be able to force their actors to get abortions so they can shoot.
Probably true for the Disney Channel.
Producer: Ok, the production schedule says we’ll be shooting on location in Uganda for two weeks…
Actress: Wonderful. Such a beautiful place. Such lovely people, living a simple life.
Producer:…Right, ok then we come back state side to shoot for four days in Georgia…
Actress: Never! It’s run by racist animals who hate women!
Don’t even have to go quite that far. Just replace Uganda with any random Euro country with more restrictive abortion policies.
While I wish there was an actual conversation happening instead of a bunch of screaming, I’m actually ok with abortion being revisited right now. We have more information and people’s opinions have shifted. It was going to happen eventually, and all the extreme laws did was make it happen sooner.
Bullshit. If the activist set don’t want a paycheck, they’ll find others who do.
Boycotts are bad when they effect me!
Well, if they want to stop being disproportionately affected, they should stop being vulnerable.
And by vulnerable, we mean black…
They can do whatever they want, but I don’t know how wise a business move it would be to make a grand gesture in favor of abortion when you are a company whose target audience is children.
“Difficult to film”, as in your actresses consistently get knocked up during filming and they’d have nowhere to go for a termination?
Exactly. This isn’t political at all. Liberals are silent on this because clearly it is not big business attempting to meddle with politics; which we know they hate.

Meh. This has long beem debated and i see mo end to it. But it is nothing new
I pointed this out a long time ago Tundra. It’s almost like there was an agenda or something…..
Why does Mueller get to get away without answering questions? Everybody else is out there getting grilled by the FBI, congress, the media and yet Mueller gets to float above the rest of the clown show like some kind of saint?

Because the Democrats really don’t want him on the stand now. Particularly Pelosi.
There are so many questions that Mueller and his co-conspirators do not want him asked.
Not a lot they can do to stop the Senate from issuing a subpoena, though.
Attorney General Bar appointed John Durham.

The heart of the matter
A survey of tipped employees from industry publication Upserve found that 97% prefer this current payment system of a base wage plus tips. AOC of all people should know this; The Post reported last year that she earned upward of $560 on a busy night at her former bar, Flats Fix. Even assuming she worked a 10-hour shift and tipped out $100 to the waitstaff, it still averages out to $46 an hour.
Not everyone is happy with the status quo. The Restaurant Opportunities Center, a controversial New York-based labor group, says “this system of tipping needs to go.” (One of ROC’s organizers explained “you can’t do payroll [union dues] deductions” when employees are earning their income through tips.)
Gulag Barbie wants to fix the injustice and iniquity of tip-based service wages. I wonder how much she’s also motivated by the scourge of undeclared (untaxed) cash income.
“It’s like stealing from the government.”
LOL stupid rubes. We’ll kill your industry yet.
How dare they avoid the union grifters!
she earned upward of $560 on a busy night at her former bar, Flats Fix.
Doing what, exactly?
Handing 560 bottles of beer across the bar?
This Hill article is all over the place and incoherent, but I wanted to focus on this:
“Special counsel Robert Mueller is the true man of progressive convictions and principles. He believes in due process of law – even for people who have done such evil they don’t deserve it.
The problem is, when it comes to Donald Trump, we progressives find it inconvenient to apply our core due process principles. But we don’t need to choose between due process and Congress doing its duty, as Robert Mueller properly implied is the next step. ”
Mostly just how much a bitch Mueller has been. He produces a report that says no collision, but then wants to cast aspersions about obstruction of Justice. We won’t indict him, but we will still say we think he could have done it. Then he does this presser, contradicts his report and says his report is his testimony, and indicates that Trump should be impeached without coming out and saying it. He wants to cover his ass and doesn’t have the balls or conviction to do anything about it. If I were a Dem I’d be afraid that the one guy who should be an expert didn’t have to stones to talk straight.

progressives…core due process principles
ROTFLOL!
*catches breath*
That’s a knee-slapper. They only have one principle and it ain’t due process.
If by “due process” they mean “we get what we want, when we want it, and everybody else STFU” then yes, they’ve been all about due process.
It’s indelible in their hippocampus.
For some reason, that quote has morphed in my brain to “inedible in the hippopatamus”.

Said nobody in DC, ever
Dayum. 62 in NYC. Don’t blow that heat up here kthx.
Weekend gonna be nice in VA though, mid 80s.
Takes me that sometimes. But I’m walking and drunk.
Going to work or going home after.
Wait I am pretty sure that your answer will be a hearty “Yes”….
Aaaaaand that’s why I would never move to NoVa. Well, that plus the cost of living and all the progs.
the progs make this place insufferable. just got a mailer for some uberprog running for Clerk of the Court talking about how he wants to keep the “wrong people” from getting concealed carry permits. no details whatsoever on the mailer. i sent him an email asking what he would do differently. no response. my license is up for renewal in 2 1/2 years. i’m going to be really pissed if this asshole wins and then tweaks with the process to cause delay.
but there are some epic opportunities for trolling. for example, wearing an orange ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ shirt to the wear orange gun control rally on June 7th.
Oooooh!!!
(those motherfuckers piss me off because orange is the color for bladder cancer, which my ma died from.)
i assume the blue/yellow shutdown is not going as well as WMATA had hoped.
I tried the Pentagon bus, which uses the 395 express lanes, but the backup from Shirlington north was bad and the trains were fucked. So I switched to the Crystal City shuttle because I can get a work shuttle from there, but it uses route 1, and does not have access to the Metrolink bus lanes, so it sits in traffic like everyone else. There are no good options.
I did bump up my telework to 3x/week.
The only good option is not to play….
Argh… the HVAC guy seems befuddled.
It’s either the blower motor, the relay, or the transformer yet he’s checking every other damn thing five times.
I should have just shotgunned the solution and not called them.
Well, unfuddle him.
I’m not sure he’s into that.
Shoulda called Yusef
1-800-tall-can?
None of those things are hard to troubleshoot. Sounds like a fool to me.
I wonder how much they’ll charge for me to just go here a couple times a week in July and August and just roll around naked?

Depends on what part of the streaming video revenue you negotiate.
Yeah, you play your cards right they’ll pay you.
Biden’s new slogan. “I won’t be creepy again.”
Set to the tune of “Won’t get fooled again”.
Fucking hipsters
Brewers have always experimented, from the medieval Belgians who stirred sour cherries into their beer to newer varieties like the white IPA, a marriage of Belgian and American styles that was developed about a decade ago.
But today’s brewers have kicked it up a notch as they try to distinguish themselves from everyone else trying to distinguish themselves.
I’ll stick with beer-flavored beer.
bah! New York Post link
WIfey just texted; her school (a middle school in Queens) is on lockdown because of a “firearm on campus” incident. The last time this happened, it was a kid wearing some sort of man-purse fashioned to resemble a shoulder holster. On the other hand, a few months ago, a student was shot in the thigh in front of the Dollar Tree store down the block from the school after wandering off during a fire drill. He was SOCMOB (Stand On Corner Minding Own Business) and it is still under investigation. Sigh…

Amazing: Mueller’s Statement Confirms Whatever You Already Believed About Trump
It’s like a Horshack test.
Oo! Oo! Oo! Mr. Kotter!
CALLING ALL SCOTCH WHISKY AFICIONADOS! I very much want to make Atholl Brose. What whisky would y’all recommend? Should I go all crazypants and try it with a Bourbon (my favorite of the brown liquors), or a rye (my 2nd favorite)? Please help.
Any decent, but inexpensive, scotch will do. You are going to add a lot of honey and oats. Don’t waste premium scotch.
I have many friends that love this stuff. Generally, the more oat flavor, the better.
I can probably acquire recipes if you are interested.
In my experience, you can swap bourbon and rye in cocktails, but you can’t really swap scotch with bourbon or rye and get a comparable result, You might still like it.
My go-to mixing scotch is Dewar’s Scratched Cask, or Black Grouse.
I’m not a big Scotch guy but I like Macallan.
Atholl Brose. – eww gross
CALLING ALL SCOTCH WHISKY AFICIONADOS! – you want to make us all puke?
So apparently (I freely admit to knowing nothing whatsoever about the facts of the matter) some guy self-immolated at the White House. Protesting Mueller’s failure to clap Public Enemy Number One in irons and drag him, kicking and screaming out of the Oval Office? Protesting Trumputin’s unholy reign of mass arrests and internment camps?
Let’s say you’re the shocked and bereaved family of this gullible nutcase, and you believe he was driven to this, not by Trump, but by the ceaseless drumbeat of “Orange Man Bad” rhetoric and news stories from the Deep State and their media enablers. How do you respond? Whom can you attempt to hold responsible? When will the press conferences commence?
I don’t think that guy suffered any injuries. It looked like he was wearing a stuntman suit.
The news says he’s dead.
Well…. Death isn’t technically an injury.
A news break last week about the Lyons parcel bombing claimed there were no casualties, only injuries.
He died.
TW: Breitbart
he was reported missing earlier so possibly (maybe perhaps just like a tinsy bit) he had mental health problems.
Amash continues to embarrass:
Apparently he disagrees with Mueller then, who discussed the issue in detail and came to the conclusion that the President could, indeed, be indicted while in office.
This is intentionally obtuse and ambiguous. However, it is perfectly clear that he thinks a President can be indicted for actions taken while President, and much of the discussion is about how the application of obstruction of justice laws to a sitting President is not a Constitutional burden. What Mueller never says is that he cannot indict a sitting President. This is as close as he comes, saying he can certainly indict a former President, and that impeachment is not an adequate remedy, which is a long way from foreclosing an indictment of a sitting President. Barr and Rosenstein have both said that Mueller confirmed that his decision not to indict was not based on Constitutional issues.
This all raises the question, of course, of what the point of this thing was if the special counsel couldn’t indict the President. Was this really only about everybody except Trump? Mueller’s appointment was to investigate “individuals associated with the campaign of Donald Trump”, which would certainly include Trump himself. And, of course, large chunks of the report are about whether Trump himself committed obstruction, something which a prosecutor would have no business investigating the Trump was immune from indictment by that prosecutor.
Mueller is in a bind – either he couldn’t indict Trump, which made large chunks of his investigation illegitimate, or he could indict Trump, but decided not to because he simply didn’t have the evidence. I see no way out of this bind for Mueller.
I’m still wondering what specific charge(s) will be used to initiate impeachment.
