Looks like another day of living off coffee and grimly holding on to my temper, from lack of sleep. The links quality may reflect this. But I get an alleged large step toward relief tomorrow morning, so by next week…maybe we will progress to mediocre links! Huzzah.
But what you get this morning is right here:
- “I dunno, shall we call it a draw?” Both sides realize, the other just won’t seem to quit, and cannot succeed…so maybe a little jaw-jaw? Of course, please note this would be round seven, of this current set of blatherings.
- So…who has been missing the past 6 months, only to return lately?
- Um…”led to prostitution”? Ma’am, you were already there.
- Grandpa Gulag outflanks Lieawatha on the left.

But… I don’t have audio at work!

What computer in 2019 doesn’t have audio?
Anyway, I think you can a sound blaster for a 386.
It’s not the computer, there is a headphone jack… but that doesn’t mean it’s in use.
That’s my bailiwick. 😉
At least yours aren’t mind numbing like The Spin Doctors that was posted the other day.

Original is bad, metal cover doesn’t improve anything.
Oh, that’s heinous. Well done.
The thing is, most of his metal covers are pretty good. I posted the Sultans of Swing one the other day, its excellent.
That one though…wow.
He is still a slop drummer.
Maybe if he didn’t spend so much time playing guitar, bass, singing, and producing, he’d have time to work on tightening up his chops?
I’ll counter with the band that inspired a Mr. Show sketch – Tickle-Toon Typhoon.
Oh my God.
How’s this?
Oh, you’ve read the lion drill instructions.
That video was fabulous. The rubbernecking lions were like icing on the cake.

See why I left it to the commentariat?

So you are saying the necks links will be better?
I think he’s saying he’ll give it a shot.

The government had warned voters that Switzerland, which is not a member of the European Union but follows many of its rules, could lose its membership in the Schengen area — which allows free movement among 26 European countries — if it rejected stricter gun rules. . . . final results showed that almost 64 percent voted in favor of tighter gun controls, in line with what opinion polls had predicted. Only the citizens of the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland rejected the gun initiative.
Solidarity will undermine independence.
The rural cantons will quietly disregard what
GenevaGenf and Zurich voted for.If need be, Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden can start things all over again.
They are quietly becoming just another province of Europea, aren’t they. I wonder how that will work out for them.
I had to go to Geneva for work about 2-3 years ago. I was there for most of a week, and I’m not sure I saw a single Swiss person.
As a history geek, my first thought was that if Switzerland ever faced an existential crisis, this built-in fifth column would drive an unfortunate outcome.
Or maybe there’s enough of Switzerland left to stand up to it. Dunno.
Genf and Zurich are not really Swiss – very much more “international” – lots of us knuckleheads that are involved with business, etc. Get away from those two cities…it is very Swiss.

At this point can we sop pretending these people are serious about anything but getting power at all costs and are willing to promise any and all sorts of destructive and impossible schemes and scams to rick-roll enough idiots into voting for them?
The next one should promise to give back the money to the suckers who paid off the debt

“Claims men were using sugar baby websites as a way to pay students for sex”
Holy shit, men 20 years older than you pay thousands and expect more than just your sparkling personality!? Say it ain’t so!!
What bothers me are the people that actually think this cunt didn’t know what she was doing. Women know damned well why guys spend time and money on them, and the type this girl is milk it for all it is worth. There are plenty of idiots out there wiling to give women their money thinking that will buy them anything but her scorn and her trying to take even more from them.
Sad but true.
That’s the thing that baffles me. Women as depicted currently are strong, smart, independent and can beat any man at their own game while simultaneously being naive, innocent, vulnerable snowflakes that need to be protected from those rapacious menfolk. There’s no way to square that circle. It seems whichever one is benefiting the woman at the time should be embraced without question.
I have a very hard time believing that this lady didn’t know exactly what she was doing. Once everything goes to hell, then it’s time to pull out the “I was victimized by this evil website” card.
“It seems whichever one is benefiting the woman at the time should be embraced without question.”
Indeed. But you should know better than to expect ideological consistency.
“Whatever benefits the woman at the time” is a consistant position.
Seems to explain the whole “fight patriarchy” fake movement.
Wimmin like this are an extremely small but incredibly loud sub-set of the population in my experience. They just have a shiny new bullhorn in the age of Trump.
At no point does she claim that anyone misrepresented. Nobody offered her a long-term contract, which she found disappointing.
I’m pretty sure they all know exactly what the story is. What’s sad is how they navigate around it and present the proper political talking points. All it is to them is another opportunity to signal their woke virtue.
but… but… she “grew up on Stoops Estate in Burnley, one of the most impoverished postcodes in the UK” so there’s no way she could have known about the concept of paying money for sex!
An area so poor that they only had stoops and no buildings?
Oh, what we wouldn’t have given to have stoops!
Living in South Florida I’ve seen loads of women like this. Even the ones who are not on some website that is barely a fig leaf for prostitution are pretty upfront about it.
I was having dinner with a couple of business associates at a fancy restaurant with sidewalk dining in fort Lauderdale one night when a couple of young ladies approached us. They began asking us questions about what we do for a living. When the lawyer gave up his profession, they jumped on it like sharks on a whale carcass. Apparently they weren’t sophisticated enough to know that he was working for the other two guys at the table.
we actually went as far as to ask about his bank account. It was pretty shameless. we saw them later that night talking to a couple of 50 something year old dudes at a club. They were probably in their late twenties at the time.
A very briefly dated a girl who played that game. She was a smoking hot Colombian who had small roles in telli novellas for telemundo.
It took me about two weeks to figure out what was up. she had a bunch of guys on the line, paying for her rent, paying for her car payment, whatever. She was actually pretty amazing – she had an incredible talent for getting people to do what she wanted.
So I don’t really have a lot of sympathy for some chick who spent a few years taking advantage of men who are desperate for attention. I’m not sure why she expected that people should just give her stuff for no reason. In fact, I’m fairly sure that she understood all along that they weren’t giving her stuff for no reason.
Funny that we want to paint the guys who were handing her cash just to spend time with her as predators and and the shark who manipulated them into forking over huge wads of cash as a victim.
Libertarians may not like Ann Coulter, but you want to see if you agree with her about liberalism and bullies claiming to be victimized by the bullied.
“this girl will milk it for all it is worth.”
Isn’t this the idea? Hey, at least she was paying her student debt.
To paraphrase:

My Husband Wants to Watch Me Have Sex With Another Man
What do you think would be her reaction if her husband told her that he expected this to be a tit for tat. She bangs some other dude, and then he gets to bang another chick…
He may have initiated it. Apparently the whole Hot Wife / Cuck Husband thing is, well, a thing. “Cleanup on aisle three.” Heh.
I think this is just alt-right bait at this point.
Response to this scenario: “You go grrrl! You’re just exploring your inherent non-monogamous-ness!”
Response if letter was from a man: “You sicken me with your cis-hetero toxic male entitlement. Women don’t exist solely for your evil penis’ pleasure.”

I can sympathize. My wife would like for me to do the dishes, cook something special for dinner, clean out the shower drain. There are limits, however.

euphemism alert!
I can do dishes and cook dinner, and actually wouldn’t mind, but my pipes better be getting cleaned after that, if you know what I mean…
And I will gladly then go to sleep on the couch even.
Yeah, I’m never really sure if my wife really likes my Mexican cooking or my BBQ or is just happy to have somebody else doing the cooking.
Heh. My wife loves my authentic Wisc/Mex cooking. Surprised Mexican isn’t more popular here because even my crappy version of it is always a hit with the locals.

The slutty make-up probably isn’t helping.
Um…”led to prostitution”? Ma’am, you were already there. – ehm I mean would, but not for 1 grand. You can probably buy a hotter Moldavian chick for that kind of scratch. Then again you have the extra cost of soundproofing the basement.

Once again, screw you Bernie on behalf of this guy who worked for scholarships to get into college.
Look, he’s pandering to the people who are most likely to advocate socialism – useless twits who have useless degrees and a stack of debt weighing on their sense of entitlement.
Socialism is about appealing to those angry that the choices they made had bad consequences they didn’t want to deal with – always after the fact – and telling these angry jealous/envious fucks that you will fuck over those people that made the right choices, to help the morons that did not feel they brought those uppity people that did the right thing just as low as their studies degree having, coffee slinging career limiting selves.
That’s what pisses me off the most. Own your mistakes or they will own you. I made some very bad choices early on in life but the consequences are mine to deal with and mine alone. I don’t expect anyone to “help”.
Yeah, that part about owning them… That is hard work…
Much easier to blame others, and then straddle them with the bill too.

Well done. I used to like when those things ended with some dirt poor Afghan being told he had to pay an unpayable amount of money to some other dirt poor tribesmen to end the blood feud… or else. Just old school Mafia justice, frontier-style.
So there is something called Lime which started dumping electric scooters all over Bucharest. You can use them by downloading an app and paying 0.6 Lei per minute. I am thinking of trying one although they seem dangerous and one could lose an eye. But the funny part is that, being Romania, more than two dozen were stolen in the first month, which is funny because they were all found through gps. What were the thieves thinking, that there is no way to track those?
Also, if let us say a certain minority may be over-represented in people getting in trouble with the law over appropriating Lime scooters, is Lime racist?
They had one of these green bike thingies in Hartford CT. There were these bikes you could rent and ride using some app. All I ever saw on them was homeless people that had managed to disassemble to locking mechanism. The whole idiotic thing lasted all of about 1 month before all the bikes were sold for parts by the crack and meth heads.
Sounds like the problem is Hartford.
Actually the problem is with the idiots that see a city with a large homeless population and think something like this will work.
I’d be interested in the funding – specifically, did the city pitch in for the bikes? Because here in Richmond that bike thing is run as a concession but subsidized by the city. I suspect that the bike companies well know it won’t make money and that their business model is based on taxpayer subsidies.
And they’re all over the place now. First the bikes, now those yellow scooters.
Tax payers payed for it all Tonio. And the company the city contracted was an ultra expensive green company that had an iron clad legal agreement making the city responsible for security of these vehicles. The meth and crack heads had them a ball. I only saw the bikes being used by them, and they then took them and hid them. Hartford being a dead city after hours or on weekends, they were picked up after the homeless people broke the security mechanism off, and were all gone in a month tops.
So the people that spend a fortune on the contract, virtue signaling their green bonafides, and telling us how wise the investment was, despite being told otherwise, all blamed the people that told them this was not going to work, and not the idiocy of doing this the way they did.
Amazingly, it has worked fairly well in Tampa (and we have a huge homeless population here). There are three separate companies that popped up pretty much simultaneously and have those infernal contraptions all over downtown.
I don’t mind the actual devices, but the insufferable hipsters I see on them. I may have accidentally adjusted my gym bag just as one was whizzing past me from behind (he was only a foot or so to the side, and gave no verbal warning, so I felt no sympathy when he swerved right into the corner of a building).
Yeah, the bike thing is pretty successful in NYC. Privately-financed and expanding. Might even hit my neighborhood some day.
I’m throwing them out of my yard every damn day (corner house, on the beach, on the block with the subway stop; I really want to woodchipper all the walkthrough litterbugs). People just drop them and walk away; it’s pretty cool for those who don’t want the hassle of urban bike storage. There is some known hack because I always see gangs of local youth cruising around in packs.
They must be swallowing the losses. I would hope they’re working on that cuz the fees aren’t exactly cheap as it is. Maybe train a camera on the stations where the bikes tend to go missing?
Same thing happened here. Most of the bikes were gone after a week, doubtless disassembled in various Meth shacks.
The components on those bikes, at least the ones here, are pretty proprietary, probably by design.
We already have 3 companies Lime-s, Wolf-e and e-twow
Indianapolis was buried in those things. I think Austin, TX is too.
Sadly they are in Austin too. I had to throw my elbow into a scooter-rider’s chest as he came around a corner downtown riding at its top speed. Also, sadly, he survived.
That could have had humerus results.
*narrows gaze*
We have some of those electric scooters. The company caused a ruckus last year because they just dropped them off downtown. They didn’t go to the city council and ask for permission or anything!
Luckily, sanity has been restored and Minneapolis now has a proper program for electric scooters.
Suprisingly, the company (Bird) that started the ruckus last year was not considered to be a partner in this new exciting pilot program. The city said it wasn’t because Bird thumbed their nose at them last year. No sir. But because:
I was down at Lake Calhoun last week and those fucking things were everywhere. Possibly more obnoxious than cyclists.
Lake Calhoun
I’m sorry white eye, I have no idea what you are talking about.
It will always be Lake Calhoun to me.
*looks up issue*
It is Lake Calhoun, there’s no way anyone is going to use that… other term.
I thought they’re bringing the old name back?
Who the fuck knows. The stupid Park Board wanted to change all the street signs, too, but that was quickly slapped down.
These people are mentally ill.
It’s a beautiful lake, by the way.
We have a string of several urban lakes that are a must-see if you ever make it out here.
I have found that whenever you see people demanding such public works changes, one of their relatives is the one landing a lucrative government contract doing unneeded work (like replacing expensive street name signs or building a town park).
My office named all its meeting rooms after Minnesoda lakes. I always make sure to respond to any meeting invites to Lake Calhoun with the appropriate snark about it being Bde Maka Ska.
So far everyone gets the joke and rolls their eyes about Minneapolis’ efforts to rename Calhoun.
Here’s the problem I’ve seen – you need to have a helmet with you (SLD). When those things hit a bump, they are not forgiving and you can go flying off the front end. Maybe not an issue for Pie, since he can turn into a bat.
The other problem is no odometers, so the company only fixes the scooters if someone reports a mechanical problem. Which is fine except when you learn the hard way the throttle has 2 positions – off and full speed, and the brakes don’t work.
“So there is something called Lime which started dumping electric scooters all over Bucharest.”
Not sure if is the same company, but those things are all over Balmer too. I mean, until they get stolen.
This is how you make em crazy cat ladies….
I was going to respond to the cuck-lady above with the advice that she join a knitting circle but may have to rethink that notion.
For those who can’t be bothered reading the article:
Ravelry is the most popular site online for crocheting and knitting enthusiasts. “The word ‘inclusive,’ it would seem, has been redefined in true leftist Orwellian fashion to mean ‘excluding half the country.’ The 44.6 percent of Americans who approve of Trump are all — every last one — white supremacists, according to Ravelry.”
Fucking knitters. They are the same people who don’t want people to visit India.
From the Indians I know – they’d likely agree. It’s a very different place from here.
Seriously – the Indians I know (and Glen Allen has a whole bunch of them – the Hindu Center of Virginia is right down the street from my house) are pretty hardheaded about India. That, after all, is why they moved here in the first place. They have no gauzy romantic notions about the place.
“Please to be coming over and spending your money?”
WTF is wrong with people.
Dystentery.
Oh, you meant these toxically woke people.
They are working on the dysentery thing.
The reason for the ban, according to Ravelry, is that “We cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy. Support of the Trump administration is undeniably support for white supremacy.”
Surely they can cite an example or two that demonstrates that Trump and his supporters are white-supremacists.
30 minutes have elapsed, the tits are ready, Mammary Monday may commence!

well that and the libertarianism:
Open letter to the Libertarian Party: Your pro-abortion position is costing you votes
Most people want freedom for themselves, but not for others…
No it isn’t.
The number of people who are cool with drug legalization and gay rights and also anti abortion is dwarfed by the number of people who hold the same position on the first 2 propositions and are either pro choice, or simply believe the state has no role in abortion.
Yes if the LP adopted a pro life stance they would gain votes from some new people, but they would lose the votes of even more and it would be a net loss in voters for them.
Of course since both the pro life and pro choice positions are supportable under the NAP the LP probably should not have an official position on abortion either way.
“Open letter to the Libertarian Party: Your pro-abortion position is costing you votes”
What votes?
You know what to do.
Yes sir, I do.
SPOON!
Sanders’ effort at one-upsmanship on student loans, named the College For All Act, would cancel $1.6 trillion of debt and save the average borrower about $3,000 a year, according to materials obtained by The Associated Press.
The result would be a stimulus that allows millennials in particular to invest in homes and cars that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. It would cost $2.2 billion and be paid for – and then some – by a series of taxes on such things as stock trades, bonds and derivatives, according to the proposal.
Eliminating one debt so they can get more.
Fuck that. Tax the universities that got fat on those loans. Tax the banks that got fat on those loans. Put the people who benefited from that stupid system on the hook.
This right here. Shame they’d rather just fuck over the rest of the American people instead.
Bill it directly to the universities from which the useless degrees were issued and the debt accrued.
Probably unconstitutional, but I love it.
Get government out of that racket. There is a direct correlation with the massive inflation blowing curve of cost increases for tuition and the fact government keeps throwing cash at people that would not be given the money if someone was doing a risk analysis of the investment.
Hammer the junkies and let the dealer keep his cash and continue dealing all under the umbrella of a corrupt government. Great timeline, ain’t it?
The Road to Hammer Junkie – YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIUgfW-LiQQ
Well, we had a near economic collapse because people that live in fantasyland decided to use the power of government to force lending entities to give money – to buy a house of all things – to people not only unqualified, but likely to default and then leave others to pay for it, and after that, they just went back to doubling back on this stupid idea.
What makes you think that these same people will find any problem with a system today that basically gives money to people that are going to fail or piss it away on dumb ass degrees?
Up until about a year ago, I had no idea how big some of endowments are for some of the big-name schools. Some of them are sitting on BILLIONS of dollars from donations. And yet they have no problem jacking up the price and letting students take out huge loans. I’m with straffin, let’s tax these endowments.
10 Universities With Big Endowments
I think we should be pleased of private institutions that run a profit and maintain a balance sheet. The alternative is your being taxed for the land grant system.
The question shouldn’t be: who shall we tax; it should be: remember back when we would tax people for services that were even worse than these?!1!?
Yeah, except the part where the university is getting a shit ton of federal tax dollars when they’re sitting on billions.
This phenomenon of private institutions having endowments that are worth billions of dollars, while neither investing in keeping/expanding educators that add value (no studies types obviously) nor keeping the cost down for the students, seems to be present even in the public system. I have often pointed out that the tax & spenders could really get some big cash for their scams if they simply raided these endowments, but you should see the reaction you get pointing that out. These centers of indoctrination of mediocrity, like the unions, are considered off limits, unlike the private sector idiots.
There’s something really perverse about the left’s idea of rich business owners sitting on piles of cash that should be used to help students, when these “noble institutions” actually are sitting on piles of cash that should be used to help students.
It’s different when someone that is a bonified leftist does it. Their motives are pure/better…
If you were that good with math, you probably wouldn’t have ended up super deep in debt for a degree that isn’t usable to generate a suitable return.
Yeah, you’ll have your student loan debt wiped out, but then your 401k won’t be worth jack because all of its returns are wiped out by these taxes and fees, so you won’t have any money for retirement. But just in time the next “progressive” will be along to propose a universal retirement program. Damn, it’s almost like it’s intentional.
With millennials greatly outnumbering Gen Xers, it’s only a matter of time.
to invest in homes and cars that they
wouldn’t otherwise be able tostill can’t afford. We’re gonna get absolutely slammed if this idea comes to fruition. We will have my student loans paid off in 2 years, which is right around the time the student loans would be forgiven.
As always, government is who we screw, together.
Yep, someone who cannot afford a $300 student loan payment will somehow magically be able to afford a $500 car payment.
My student loan payments were $500, and my car payments $300.
In your case I assume you could also afford both.
We should not consider a program from someone who doesn’t know what invest means.

I’m surprised he spoke with CNN.

How did the call sheet for the casting call read?
CCN — whoever that is.
Again, that Magic branding is terrible.
Bernie Sanders and House progressives are to unveil plans to cancel all student debt, going further than a signature proposal by Senator Elizabeth Warren as the two jockey for support in 2020 Presidential race.
Moar. “Free”. Shit.
So, did anybody bother to read the bill? is Sanders going to cancel student debt the same way that Obama cancelled general motors debt? Namely, by just stealing the money from the lenders?
Or are we going to print money to just hand to Banks?

Just remember Bernie tucking his balls inside as he endorsed Hillary. I think it will be just as close as it was last time.

“Debt cancellations would be paid for by taxes on trades, stocks and derivatives”
It is the responsibility of those racking up the student debt to either pay for it or find others who will voluntarily donate to pay some or all of it off for them. And even if we were to ignore personal responsibility, taxation is theft, and taxation of money labored for is slavery or slavery-adjacent, higher education and financial markets are unrelated. At least a meat tax to pay for government meat inspections would be an involuntary user fee.
Yes, this is just obvious and shameless vote-buying. As is the reparations movement that they have brought to the front again.
Agreed. In theory (D in the deets), I would not mind a government-run program to pay off student debts or to pay reparations if the money came from voluntary sources.
I would. If it was privately run, whatever. Of course, it should handled the same as any other gift/income/debt cancellation.
Why does it matter if it is government? Thought experiment: Suppose you lived somewhere (there are places this is true) that government has the local monopoly in residential trash/recycling collection, but for commercial customers who use dumpsters or generic equivalent, getting trash picked up is mandatory, but paying government to do it is optional. Would you automatically not consider the government option when deciding who to pay to come around and take away the trash?
Spitefully, I might simply not look at the numbers and reputation of the department of sanitation for [hypoethetical town].
Though at some point my frugality would force me to do the comparison.
Interesting answer.
Government ran operations are inherently subsidized, and usually directly so. Even if it weren’t, a government sponsored program lends the imprimatur of official endorsement. And to your example, government “competition” is phony. Lower cost of capital, tax exempt status, cross subsidy from residential operations, favorable rule making, and backstopped by the government.

On Friday, Warren re-introduced S. 1940, the Refund Equality Act, which would allow same-sex couples to amend past tax returns. According to a report from the Joint Committee on Taxation, the bill would direct $57 million in refunds. The funds would go to same-sex couples in states that had legalized same-sex marriage before the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act in 2013. Warren introduced an earlier version of the bill in 2017.
“The federal government forced legally married same-sex couples in Massachusetts to file as individuals and pay more in taxes for almost a decade,” Warren said in a statement on the legislation. “We need to call out that discrimination and to make it right — Congress should pass the Refund Equality Act immediately.”
“It wasn’t until marriage equality became law that gay & lesbian couples could jointly file tax returns—so they paid more in taxes,” Warren tweeted Saturday. “Our government owes them more than $50M for the years our discriminatory tax code left them out. We must right these wrongs.”
I want all the extra money that was stolen from me before the recent tax cut.
I want all the money that was stolen from me since the 16th amendment.

“Um…’led to prostitution’? Ma’am, you were already there.”
Just this weekend, one of the glibertarians.com links articles linked to a piece about a piece in Society for Personality and Social Psychology claiming that one third of heterosexual women have gone on dates because they were interested in the food rather than the male. That is not £1,000 a night or per date, but if it is not the same principle, it is at least in the vicinity.
https://www.studyfinds.org/foodie-call-third-women-admit-dating-for-free-meal/
Did they put out is the real question.
in other words – what did you have for dessert?
Probably not.
Yeah, that was the entire point of the study. they were going on dates with guys they were completely not interested in solely for the purpose of obtaining a free meal. Which, I think we can all agree is a shity thing to do..

This year my company replace manual faucets in the restrooms with ones with sensors. In the one closest to my desk, in the last couple of months, one of them worked about 50% of the time. Now it is a bit over a week since only one of two sinks is functional. This puzzles me. I work for a high tech company with billions in revenue, part of a race who has put people on the fucking moon. I would have thought that having a functional faucet is not beyond our capacity. I though wrong.
You had functional faucets.
Then they put in automatic ones.

“The Worst Advice Column Ever Written?
By Charles C. W. Cooke”
https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/worst-advice-column-ever-written/
I’m not convinced that’s not a gun owner trolling an advice columnist. It’s just too on the nose soy. It’s what a right wing troll would write in the voice of a hysterical gun grabbing ninny.
Maybe I spend too much time reading Twitter.
It’s impossible to tell what is satire anymore. I can believe some lefty dolt is terrified of his own daughter shooting him in the middle of the night for no apparent reason.
So one of the three options of the ultimatum is to give him the gift of the gun? ZARDOZ, advice column, gift of the gun…
Alright. Lots to unpack here. First off, this chick is supposed to be from the projects, and she doesn’t know what a ho is? Just stop it. Second, what the hell does she think a “sugar daddy” is? Where does she think the term comes from? And finally–and forgive me for burying the lede here–her problem isn’t that she was being used, it’s that she didn’t get to be the user. She was perfectly happy with a scenario where Prince Charming swoops in and starts handing her cash, “helping her with her career”, and does all this as nothing other than a Platonic companion willing to disappear when told to do so. I daresay she’d have had no problem exploiting some lonely old fucker with a bundle of dough and a wistful demeanor willing to stroke her a check so she can hit Burberry or keep her lights on for nothing more than her teasing the possibility of her taking her shirt off or something in the future. So, I mean, I won’t hate the game, but I’m not gonna feel even a little bit sympathetic if the player gets played.
If the article is accurate, she admits taking 600 to 1,000 per date and she admits she was in it for the money. We don’t know how much of that gross was profit. I don’t see how the player got played here. As for the “mental health” angle, assuming it is not a con, I hope her therapist is helping her dealing with her cognitive dissonance.
I’m being a touch facetious about her getting the short end. Really, she was just expected to fulfill her end of a somewhat tawdry bargain that she walked into knowingly and repeatedly. Also, I think you’re on to something about the mental health bit being just another con.
The best about wanting to help other people, men and women, in the sugar daddy arena definitely sounds like a con.
it sounds like she did not so much get sick of the business as much as she aged out and not being overly attractive, use was her only angle. Once use goes all she had left was kinky. And I suppose that can get pretty scary pretty fast.
So now she has only one skill and she can’t really ply that for a lot of money anymore. So she wants to use the experience she has to continue hammering checks. It really isn’t any different from someone working in any other field where are you can only work for so long. Professional athletes become coaches or professional trainers. Professional musicians become teachers or producers.
And apparently prostitutes become counselors, authors, or life coaches for other prostitutes and Johns.
Holy crap Google, thanks for the late edits.

I worked at a courthouse doing scheduling and part of the task involved lining up interpreters where necessary. You know how hotels will typically have a short list of limo and cab services they’ll pull from when someone asks for a car? We had the same, but for interpreters. There’s a sweet spot where you balance obscurity/difficulty and frequency of need, but unless you speak English, Pashto, and nothing else, you’re bound to be turning away gigs for lack of time. You can make a pretty decent living doing that just for the courts, never mind other venues.
I daresay she’d have had no problem exploiting some lonely old fucker with a bundle of dough and a wistful demeanor
I watched Ana Nicole Smith on reality TV and this gal is no Ana Nicole Smith!
I think Mme. Nicole-Smith kept her end of the bargain, though, to her, um, credit?
So did that last girl who would fuck Hef. Which makes her getting cut out of the will kind of a stain on his legacy.
Maybe I’m going to sound Victorian here, but perhaps part of the problem is that our society has destigmatized the idea of a woman being a whore or a slut. Any way a woman behaves, at least in certain quarters, is supposed to be okay. At one time, her behavior would be seen as disgraceful and that would have served as some sort of disincentive to all this. But, now, she’s supposed to be able to play men for whatever she can squeeze out of them and any agenda on their part other than “sucker” is an offense against them.
Perhaps a middle ground where there is some form of formal concubinage which does not have the claim on assets that a marital relationship does, being recognized as an economic contract for services.
society has destigmatized stupidity
Well, it’s a double-standard. If a hooker takes money from a John and then gets offended because he expects a blowjob, nobody’s sympathetic to the hooker. She and her ilk want to feel like they’re glamorous and desirable and, ideally, have handsome men throw cash at them so they can live a life of ease. They want to trade the bliss of their company in exchange for a living. At least prostitutes have something valuable to exchange.
In fact, riffing off the Victorian bit, she and the rest want to play the part of the glamorous aristocratic coquette. She wants to be carried in a divan from one ball to another, batting her eyes and tossing lace handkerchiefs to gentleman admirers falling all over themselves to be rewarded with a brush of her fingertips across their hands, fighting duels in defense of her honor and virtue. She wants to be paid to be young and pretty, but she wants to be respected, even admired, for it, too.
There’s a simple question here: what did she think she was being paid for? Because, if she thought it was just out of the goodness of his heart, then she’s too dumb to breathe.
She knows exactly what she was being paid for: she likely is angry because the guy at some point decided she had to now do more than just tease.
I see the whole thing as a marketing ploy to try to identify a line of Johns for whom she is their type and would be willing to pay the thousand pounds per date which she claims she had been getting.
How do you say “Bitch gimme some ass” in cockney?

I disagree, the US could win they are just unwilling to pay the cost of doing so.
The one thing everyone forgets is that if the US was half as evil as the world seems to think it is we would simply render Afghanistan an uninhabitable wasteland and leave.
^This. It depends on how you define “win”. If you define it as turning Afghanistan into Canada, it would take a hell of a lot of time, manpower, and focus, but it could be done. At the expense of everything else, but it could be done. If you define win as exterminating the Taliban, it, too, could be done, at tremendous cost in blood and treasure, both to us and to the Afghans, provided we were willing to render the place a smoking pile of ash. Attempting both hasn’t seemed to work out very well, however.
Actually if we didn’t care about being “the good guys” and were willing to take our often assigned place alongside the Nazi’s as one of the great evils turning Afghanistan into a smoking ruin wouldn’t even cost that much money. It is not like there is anything short of our conscience stopping us from using nuclear and biological weapons on the place.
I posted this last night while the Minnesota glibs were huddled in their igloos.
https://twitter.com/TianaTheFirst/status/1142908105119821824
“Dozens of documents indicate Ilhan Omar lived with Ahmed Hirsi while claiming to be married to Ahmed Elmi
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Dozens of official documents suggest that Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was living with her current husband, Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, throughout her entire legal marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, contradicting the story she tells to explain her multiple marriages.
A paper trail of legal documents, however, undermines Omar’s claim that her marriage to Elmi, a British citizen, came during a split from Hirsi. All available evidence suggests that her legal marriage to Elmi notwithstanding, Omar has always been in marital relationship with Hirsi.
Public documents, for instance, place Hirsi and Omar living in a home together in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis in 2009, the year Elmi and Omar married, and two years before Omar claims she reconciled with Hirsi.
In legal documents, including 24 traffic violations and misdemeanor charges against Hirsi obtained by the Washington Examiner, Hirsi listed his address at a single Cedar Riverside address consistently in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Four minor cases against Omar show that in 2007, 2009, and 2012, she listed her address at the same Cedar Riverside address.
Specifically, local courts listed this address for both Omar and Hirsi in separate traffic violations in mid-2009, the year Omar and Elmi married.
Omar declined to answer the Washington Examiner’s questions on the matter, and her congressional office declined a request to speak.
Local media accounts also undermine the idea that Omar and Hirsi split. A 2013 article in the Twin Cities Daily Planet says Omar and Hirsi “moved to North Dakota so that Omar could finish her bachelor’s degree in political science.” Omar began at North Dakota State University in the autumn of 2009 and completed in 2011, the years during which she was allegedly married to Elmi, both legally and religiously.
A Cedar Riverside local who claims to have worked with Omar on Keith Ellison’s 2008 congressional campaign says that while he had seen Elmi around town, he had never known Omar and Elmi to be together.
Earlier this month, Minnesota campaign finance officials revealed that Omar and Hirsi jointly filed their taxes together in 2014 and 2015, many years before Omar and Elmi legally divorced. Both federal and Minnesota state law expressly forbid jointly filing taxes with someone who is not a legal spouse.”

It’s almost like the MSM aren’t interested in digging into all this publicly-available and in some cases already-widely-reported information or something.
Hurts team blue and their narrative. So of course they couldn’t be bothered.
Just nice.
And of course any questions are met with silence or accusations of islamophobia.
I wonder what happens next election. I’m sure her constituents (with the exceptions of a couple of Glibs) are stupid enough to re-elect the little crook, but maybe they find someone else who checks enough diversity boxes without all the baggage.
See the response from her spokesman to the story in the Strib below. It is all “This is such racist BS, that I’m not going to answer and you are a racist for even asking”.
I’m still sort of thinking that a grownup DFL-er will primary her. Now that people have seen how dumb she actually is, they might be more interested in a Margaret Anderson-Keliher.

Gorsuch is the best justice on SCOTUS and it’s not close, part a lot.
Roberts must be furious.
fuck him.
Gorsuch is the libertarian swing jurist so desperately needed. he’ll vote for property rights and against the administrative state, then turn around and vote to bolster the 4A and due process.
i almost don’t want Trump to replace Ginsburg to keep the 4-4 split.
Kagan is still an embarrassment and the laughing stock of the court.
What color is the sky on your planet. I don’t like her jurisprudence, but please list me the embarassing things that she’s done, or the times she’s gone off the rails and had people laugh at her.
She’s the least cringy of all the justices on the left wing of the court.
Low bar there man…
This case, by the way, voided a law regarding heightened sentencing for some firearms violations. Gorsuch joined the 4 liberal justices in blocking the law. The 4 other “conservative” judges would have upheld the law.
I’m not sure you have the numbers right on that. I read an article about that this weekend and it didn’t say that it came down 5-4 (I would be really really really surprised if Ginsburg put principles above her noted dislike of guns). Do you have a link to the case?
My mistake. I guess Thomas put his dislike of criminal defendants before his support for guns. Even worse
The decision just came down 20 minutes ago, so nothing from this past weekend would’ve had the numbers.

Non-delegation, here we come!
What a time to be alive.
I’ll be in my bunk.
The D’s overplayed their hand with Brett Kavanaugh, so it is politically impossible to get traction from criticizing President Donald J. Trump for nominating someone who was not on the list and “not close” to the Gorsuch already delivered. However, keep in mind that even Gorsuch is no Darrell Castle. Imagine: ‘The statute at issue in this case was signed by the President and before that passed by Congress. 1A says ‘Congress shall pass no law.’ Are you suggesting that these precedents you have cited supersede the Constitution?’
So, no celebrities have been demanding boycotts of the UK for the state forcing a woman to terminate a pregnancy? Seems like “choice” is not the operative objective of most people in the abortion debate
The Liberal discredits Liberalism.
I thought they said we should all “trust women!!!”?
More SCOTUS; Iancu v. Brunetti. Less interesting for the case itself than for the lineup:
KAGAN, J. delivered the opinion of the Court, in which THOMAS, GINSBURG, ALITO, GORSUCH and KAVANAUGH, JJ., joined.
I thought government already had a patent on that FUCT thing considering that is what they do to us…
In our constitutional order, a vague law is no law at all.
Crazy talk! All the best laws are vague, in order that they may be interpreted and enforced in the most arbitrary and capricious way possible That’s how you achieve the maximum political benefit.
Gorsuch is the most libertarian justice of my lifetime. Trump may have been worth it just to get him on the Court.
I’ve been pretty pleased with the scotus, hoping this keeps up.
Kavanaugh is mixed, but Gorsuch is solid.
And yet, he’s already a better pick than anyone GW picked, and undoubtedly better than anyone McCain, Romney, jeb at all would have picked. The only R that ran for president in the last 20 years I could see doing better are Cruz and maybe (MAYBE) Rand.
Bad Orange Man is Bad
So, what’s up with Trump? He is likely considering the possibility that that he could lose re-election in 2020, and it’s causing him to question some of his decisions. And Trump, who tweets poll numbers when he thinks they are positive — as he did last Saturday — has good reason to be nervous.
A Monmouth University poll released this past week found that only 37% of Americans believe Trump should be re-elected. And worse for Trump, nearly 60% believe “it is time to have someone new in the Oval Office.”
————
Trump losing in 2016 would’ve no doubt been painful for him. But Trump losing re-election in 2020 would be horribly embarrassing. After all, he would be the first sitting President since George H.W. Bush in 1992 not to be re-elected.
Instead of being able to market himself as the best president ever, he would forever be seen as a loser. And that might just be Trump’s greatest fear — and the very reason for his un-Trumpian behavior.
Trump is trying to pull the wool over your eyes, America. He’s trying to trick you into thinking he’s not a dictator. Or something.
Let’s say, just for the sake of argument, those poll numbers are not complete and utter bullshit. That means Trumphitler is acting in his own self interest. When has he ever not done so? Out of character? What nonsense.
Oh no, a one term president?!?!
When a real leftist dictator that rules with the pen, weaponizes the three letter agencies and sicks them on his personal and political opponents, goes after anyone that reports how corrupt his administration is, and generally encourages show trials that always let the connected off the hook while jailing people under false charges (the video made the people in Libya spontaneously riot!) – just to name a few real banana republic shit – is in charge, these people are totes for tyrannical rulership. Pretending Trump is doing anything like this is just more progjection.
And don’t forget he’s still sitting on a mountain of evidence detailing all of that. The American public isn’t going to know what hit them.
Because none of it will be covered in the news, and it will instead be “Trump Jails political opponants”
Twitter will have to deplatform him once he starts spamming these details…
Stupid king’s land rents.

He had a good list given to him and he picked a good name off the list. So he picked a good person / team to compile the list, rather than picking the candidates themselves.
Either way, I’ll take it.
The local paper finally ran a story on Ilhan Omar and her ongoing marriage problems.
It would be a fairly devastating story if they wanted it to be. Instead, they put Omar’s denials at the top and bury all the discrepancies way at the bottom. For her part, Omar is sticking with the “this is all a bunch of racist bs and that is all I’m saying” defense:
Maybe it’s a sign of me getting old, but the predilection of leftists to refer to politicians by their first names, as if we’re all just buddy-buddy chums, really annoys me.

A really enterprising journalist would start looking into the finances of her sister’s company in Kenya. What are the odds that she is getting all sorts of NGO and govt grants and funding because of who her sister is?
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a Clinton Foundation Jr. in the offing there.
“marriage problems” Meaning she may or may not have had sex with her brother.
The current scandal is whether she had an orgasm or not.
Care to comment as a Minneglib?
Get your mind out of the gutter Q!
I’m sure as an upstanding woman who always wears her hijab like a proper muslim, she had a clittorectomy a long time ago so there is no possibility of an orgasm.
So, I get it – she committed fraud of some kind with her hinky “marrriage”. Including tax fraud, but I suspect that was incidental. My question is, why did she do it? Immigration fraud? Some kind of financial fraud?
Why not both? In for a penny, in for a pound.
My gut feel is that it was some sort of immigration fraud to get Elmi in the states as quickly as possible. I’m not sure he’s her brother, but I think he is some sort of family relative.
Immigration fraud. Clearly. She wanted to get a relative into this country from a middle eastern shithole.
When Omar is ready to be cast aside, I’m sure they’re be first in line to explain how they were at the forefront of exposing her checkered past.
I’m proud of ‘Grandpa Gulag’. I can’t trademark it but it belongs to the world now. Use it responsibly. Preferably when drunk.
Let the commie bastards have it.
In keeping with the apparent cuck theme of this morning.

Omar spokesman Jeremy Slevin issued a statement Friday asserting that the questions about her personal life are illegitimate:
“Donald Trump, during some ill-defined time period more than twenty years ago, may or may not have grabbed some unspecified part of my anatomy (or maybe just maybe made me feel a little queasy in my tummy), and I have been
repressing that memoryholding this unproveable allegation in reserve since then,” on the other hand, is just cause to unleash the media hounds.questions about her personal life
What about questions about whether she violated the law.
Because filing joint tax returns with someone you aren’t married to is a violation of the law.
If technical tax violations were good enough for Al Capone, they’re good enough for Omar.
I woke up early on the day of my 30th wedding anniversary and made love with the beautiful man lying beside me. His eyes are bright and young and I love the way he smells in the morning. I love the way he moves his hips and I love to feel his well-toned body against mine.
My husband woke up that morning in our marital bed, alone. I have been having an affair for close to three years. My lover is also married, although he stopped sleeping with his wife two years ago. I continue having sex with my husband, but it’s a chore, not unlike a gynaecological exam.
I do it to keep the peace. I think if I refuse entirely, my marriage will end, and I’m not ready for that. I’m still financially dependent and it’s scary to think about a life alone after being married for 30 years.
So, I decided to look for a partner who would fulfill my need for sex in a way that didn’t feel like a debt or an obligation, and would recharge my battery instead of drain it.
How romance.
Such lovely.
Totally not a whore. I wonder how she would react if hubby came home one day and announced he was running away with the 25 year old cutie he’s putting through law school.
The same way that the recent story (CNN I think? But I’m not certain) about the middle-aged woman with a husband and kids who “bravely” ditched her family because she decided that she was gay. Had her husband kicked her to the curb for a younger woman, he’d be reviled as an asshole, but she is stunning and brave.
Hey, at least her husband gets to keep the marital bed and wasn’t banished to the cuck shed. Compromise!
I’m still financially dependent
You are a bad person. You do bad things. You should feel bad.

This is a good first step, but doesn’t go nearly far enough. Maybe they can exhume her and drag her skeleton behind a car for a while.
And blacklist everyone who ever starred in a movie with her. Or watched a movie of her’s.
Amazing.
When they went after Kate Smith you knew something was seriously off with this nutcases.
The Flyers and Yankees were fools and should have stood their ground.

“Woke Wars“.
I do admit I never knew restaurants could be gay, so I learned me something new today.
You know what else is gay? Masturbating. Think about it, you’re simultaneously pleasuring and receiving pleasure from a man. Super gay. The only way to make it not gay is to think about Clint Eastwood, the straightest man alive, and whisper No Homo the whole time.
What if you do it with your off hand to make it feel like it is a stranger doing it? Still gay and requiring the Clint Eastwood move to normalize? Do I need to ask a homeless person for this advice?
‘S all good. My hand identifies as a vagina.
Only after cleaning fish.
Rosie palm and the 5 sisters, man!
I think I see the problem. The homeless activists heard that someone had put a lock on an alcove. Then they realized that it was a Japanese restaurant and a rock.

Her husband was likely taking dick too. Maybe he is keeping quiet cause he got more than she did?
Actually the article says he was banging a younger chick the whole time.
His real mistake was not agreeing to this, it was ditching the younger chick and getting back together with the nutjob writer after the year was up
Meh. While it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, apparently some guys get into being cucked. Suspect that many of those guys are BDSM bottoms for their wives and see cucking as another form of humiliation.
That is literally the definition of a cuck in the BDSM scene.
If you are not actually humiliated by your wife getting banged by another dude then you by definition are not a Cuck

How much money we talking here?
I mean, no human is unique enough to be “The One”, I’d be more than happy to sell out that fantasy for the right price.
Especially if I can get paid for writing an expose about my slutiness. It’s like porn with no cameras.
By the end of her wild oats year, Rinaldi racked up 12 new lovers. She tried sex with a woman and in a threesome. But her biggest gains, she says, were not about sex. “I got back in touch with the adventurous, life-loving girl I once was.”
Resuming the marriage fulltime proved tricky. When she found out her husband had been seriously involved with one woman, Rinaldi flew into a rage. “It was the darkest moment of the entire project. I’m not proud of it.”
Le gasp.
Speaking of “one term President” Trump: If I lost an election to any of those stiffs, I think some sort of ritual suicide would be the only possible response. accompanied by an admonition that America was going to get what they voted for, good and hard.

*Kagan is still an embarrassment and the laughing stock of the court.*
What color is the sky on your planet. I don’t like her jurisprudence, but please list me the embarassing things that she’s done, or the times she’s gone off the rails and had people laugh at her.
She’s the least cringy of all the justices on the left wing of the court.
I think/hope maybe you’re thinking of Sotomayor. Sotomayor is at least good on 4A stuff.
Kagan was Obama’s White House counsel, if I recall; correctly. Motivated by nothing but political advantage and might-makes-right, end-justifies-the-means outcomes..
It depends how you look at it. If you think being pro-criminal defendant is better than supporting free speech and freedom of association then Sotomayor is good. If you think that being a strong vote for free speech and freedom of association is more important than being just mildly pro-criminal defendant than Kagan is leaps and bounds better
Just a refresher, Sotomayor is a reliable vote to silence wrong thought. She and Ginsburg were the only justices who thought it was appropriate for the government to mandate speech for private organizations that are disfavored. She, again with Ginsburg, were also the only justices who thought that it was fine for government to use religious animus as a basis to drive a bakery out of business.
I guess with the right amount of mental gymnastics criminalizing wrong thought can still be compatible with being pro-criminal defendant.
Sotomayor is a spaz with all the fire and brimstone of Scallia, but none of the, you know, analytical chops, writing skill, or persuasion of Scallia. Soto *is* better on 4A, but she’ at heart far stronger might-makes-right, ends-justify-the-means jurist than Kagen. She has no consistant methodlogy (which is a major flaw of the aggregate of progressive jursits and legal thinkers these days).
Kagen follows a pretty borring, formalist methodology that usually leads to her perfered outcome, and she focuses on the kind of arcana that most people on the street don’t know about and aren’t persuaded by. She has the closest thing to a consistant methodlolgy as any progressive legal thinkinger out there. She’s literally the female, older, other-side-of-the-political-spectrum version Kavenaugh.
Kagan is less intelligent than the average middle school teacher, and has about as much Constitutional knowledge as well. She was chosen because she’s a reliable left-wing vote and easily controlled.
So- consensus view is that Supreme Court justices with whom we do not agree are unprincipled hacks motivated by preconceived notions of “justice”?
Fair enough.
I can’t engage in a conversation with you while you insist on fucking up comment threading.
Cripple fight!
You obviously didn’t read my response.
If you think a justice’s view on the 4th Amendment to be more important than a justice’s view on the 1st Amendment- then Sotomayor is your justice.
If you think a justice’s view on the 1st Amendment to be more important than how closely they adhere to the 4th Amendment (Kagan is still pretty good on the 4th Amendment)- then Kagan is your justice.
I think you already have a preconceived conclusion between the two justices, so maybe this doesn’t matter.

But the judge said she had to act in the woman’s “best interests, not on society’s views of termination.”
The British charity Life, which says its mission is to create a society that “has the utmost respect for all human life from fertilization,” said in a Facebook post that the decision was “truly horrendous.” Commentators on the site described it as “terrible” and “devastating.”
“That is wrong on every level; doesn’t mean baby will have learning difficulties,” another person wrote on the Facebook page of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children.
A spokeswoman for the British group Abortion Rights, which she said campaigned “to keep options open for the many women who willingly choose to end their pregnancies,” described the case in a telephone call on Sunday as not unprecedented but “really sad and complex.”
The group’s chairwoman, Kerry Abel, said in an email statement: “As heartbreaking as this case is, it is opportunistic for antichoice organizations to use it to attack a woman’s right to choose. One in three women will have an abortion in the U.K. for many, many individual reasons, and we shouldn’t undermine free, safe, legal abortion based on one difficult case.”

3rd Circuit: Being suicidal in 2006 but healthy in 2013 can’t bar a person from purchasing a gun in 2013
Good.
Oh shit, I missread it. They are saying that being suicidal in 2006 *IS* a bar to a healthy, reabilitiated person buying a gun in 2013.

that he is no longer a danger to himself or to others.
Acceptance of his argument would sidestep the ruling we made
in Binderup that neither passage of time nor evidence of
rehabilitation “can restore Second Amendment rights that were

circumstances is by demonstrating that he was never

Everyone was under 18 once, so you still can’t own a firearm.
And you’ll die at some point. They should probably just estate tax you now.
Fucking hell.
Don’t worry, when someone you love avoids mental health treatment because they want to avoid a lifetime ban on firearms for a temporary medical condition, the 3rd circuit has you covered:
So they aren’t perpetuating the stigma. Got that?
Of course not.
And it’s not like anyone would ever target a person they know to be unarmed.
Look lady, I know you have battered woman syndrome (is that still considered a thing) because your husband used your head for a punching bag, but now that you left him and spent some time in a mental health clinic, you are much better.
Also he’s mad at you and wants to kill you. Here is a cell phone. Police are only 30 or 40 minutes away if you call for help. PS only call for help during the day, we don’t staff as heavily over night.
Wishing to own a firearm is evidence of psychological unfitness to own a firearm. QED.
I’m sure this will do wonders for depressed people, especially veterans, to seek treatment.
Good thing returning vets have no life expereince 1) avoiding beurocracy 2) drilling into them the importance of keeping firearms available, and 3) sky-high suicide rates.
I suspect shit like this is by design. The VA banks on most vets not talking about problems during their service years because then the VA would be liable to provide them with services to help. I am lucky never to need anything from those cunts because I can afford my own insurance. And I constantly tell idiots that if they think the VA is bad today, wait until government controls all healthcare ala Grandpa Marx.
So: you were previously incarcerated and, thus, forfeited your rights. Therefore, if you are caught speeding, the 5th, 6th and 8th amendment no longer apply and the cop can pistol whip you, castrate you and drag you behind his squad car until you’re dead.
Totes logically consistent.
The funny thing is, the logic the court is using is that we used to lock up ‘lunitics’ so we didn’t have any laws that removed the right to own firearms from mentally ill people. Taking away a gun < locking you in a cage, ergo we are gong to do that for the rest of your life.
I’m not qualified to comment on matters involving the Supreme Court. I am not an Ivy League Constitutional scholar, and I do not obsessively pore over decisions in order to keep box scores on which team is winning.
I have a life, such as it is.
I abandon the field.
Nor am I a religious zealot.
That trademark case that just came out put the two justices in stark contrast. Highlights pretty well the difference between the two.
Sotomayor defending concepts of “immoral” and “scandalous” to allow the government more authority over trademarks doesn’t make her a religious zealot. The First Amendment is so gauche

Kagan and Sotomayor both joined the dissent in Becerra.
from Mastepiece:
* JUSTICE GORSUCH disagrees. In his view, the Jack cases and the Phillips case must be treated the same because the bakers in all thosecases “would not sell the requested cakes to anyone.” Post, at 4. That description perfectly fits the Jack cases—and explains why the bakers there did not engage in unlawful discrimination. But it is a surprisingcharacterization of the Phillips case, given that Phillips routinely sells wedding cakes to opposite-sex couples. JUSTICE GORSUCH can make the claim only because he does not think a “wedding cake” is the relevantproduct. As JUSTICE GORSUCH sees it, the product that Phillips refused to sell here—and would refuse to sell to anyone—was a “cake celebrat-ing same-sex marriage.” Ibid.; see post, at 3, 6, 8–9. But that is wrong. The cake requested was not a special “cake celebrating same-sexmarriage.” It was simply a wedding cake—one that (like other stand-ard wedding cakes) is suitable for use at same-sex and opposite-sexweddings alike.
the cake has special significance to the baker. i’m not sure how i view the cake.
but you have provided enough support for me to review how i feel about Sotomayor. but i’m still really not a fan of Kagan’s. and we’ll see the real clash between her vs Gorsuch over Chevron.
Apart from the cake question. Kagan sided with the 7-2 majority to find that religious animus played a role in Phillips being targeted. Sotomayor was cool with the religious animus stuff. That is what I was referencing with that ruling
People always forget all the clauses in the 1st Amendment
how Kagan wraps up her dissent in KNICK v. TOWNSHIP OF SCOTT, PENNSYLVANIA:
Just last month, when the Court overturned another longstanding precedent, JUSTICE BREYER penned a dissent. He wrote of the dangers of reversing legal course “only because five Members of a later Court” decide that an earlier ruling was incorrect. He concluded: “Today’s decision can only cause one to wonder which cases the Court will overrule next.” Well, that didn’t take long. Now one may wonder yet again.

Muh precendent!
So a SC case should be held with higher regard than the Constitution?
nice.
The only time precedent matters is when it is an unenumerated right that is in fashion. You expect them to care about enumerated rights too?
