Buenos dias Gliberinos, on yet another fine Wednesday morning! Let’s get right to the links shall we?
Here’s a fun travel warning: Dengue fever. Make sure you wear your DEET if you are traveling.
Venezuela predicted to be the worst humanitarian crisis for 2020–and apparently the most underfunded. Perhaps their leader’s shouldn’t have spent the last 20 years telling everyone how much they suck and cozying up to Cuba? I don’t know. Screw them, and let them figure out their way out of this hole.
BBC: “How dangerous is Mexico“? Argentina: “Mexico? Pffft, hold my beer.”
I’m sure if the media actually covered him with some honesty and not as a caricature of a right wing ogre, I’d probably find a reason to hate him. As it turns out, the media only seems to cover Brazilian Trump as some kind caricature of right-wing ogre, so once again I am stuck saying something silly like, “I like this guy.”
A not completely stupid analysis of why it sucks in Latin America from CNN.
A nice analysis of Argentina continuing to not have any plan to get themselves out of the same hole they’ve been stuck in since…forever.
Less crime in spite of more guns sold? Who knew?
Music selection is somebody I’ve never heard of featuring that guy from Godsmack. Not bad, not bad at all.
Now get out there and make Wednesday your bitch.
Why Dengue Fever Cases Are Hitting Record Highs In Latin America – American Imperialism?
I think Liverpool went so deep that Sloopy had to play for them yesterday. Which explains the score line. And why he isn’t here.
I don’t think the League Cup really counts
Winner gets a spot in Europa League, so its worth it for many teams. Liverpool…not so much.
I’ll enjoy a 5-0 Liverpool loss anyway.
The No-one Cares About it Cup.
He is tired, having some Gatorade and trying to get ready for the next match.
“Now get out there and make Wednesday your bitch.”
Right now, Wednesday is threatening to shiv me, if I don’t get to work making more toilet gin.
Hmm…I suppose you gotta do what you gotta do
What you need to do, is go up and kick Friday’s ass. Wednesday will fall in line after that.
How do you answer the question: “You wanna be the mama, or the papa?”….
is go up and kick Friday’s ass.
I can’t abide by such clearly anti-indeginous sentiment.
BBC: “How dangerous is Mexico“? Argentina: “Mexico? Pffft, hold my beer.” – I blame American Imperialism myself
I’m sensing A pattern.
Ass Wednesday will gladly be your bitch.

5 minutes is all you could wait?
13. The waiting starts when the links should post 🙂
You’re traveling at 0.5c so in your frame of reference it’s only 5 minutes, but much longer in mine.
…or something.
Way to go relativistic there Q-man!
5 minutes is all you could wait?
Rumour has it that he can’t even wait that long. IYKWIMAITTYDwinkwinknudgenudgesaynomore

”
Here’s a fun travel warning: Dengue fever. Make sure you wear your DEET if you are traveling”
Had a friend catch dengue fever in Guyana. It was not fun.
Yeah, does not sound fun.
How does that relate to catching Packman Fever?
or Pacquiao,Manny Fever?
Make sure you wear your DEET if you are traveling
Way to disrespect the locals’ tradition of catching Dengue fever.
I’m sure if the media actually covered him with some honesty and not as a caricature of a right wing ogre, I’d probably find a reason to hate him. – it is very hard to figure out politicians, especially in South America, but I think hating all of em by default is unlikely to be wrong
I’m not sure how much to believe anything in that story. Loggers murdering “forest guardians”? Come on.
There’s good lumber in Ents.
Haroom baroom hooooom
Fuck them wood elves man. They are just annoying marxists.
What they should be doing is using their love of science to come up with a way to cross ewoks with those blue cat people from Avatar. Think of the mighty forest guardians those half breeds would be!
ThAt wASn’T ReAL SoCiALiSM!
“the most underfunded”
It was the racist, colonialist, capitalist pigs hoarding all the money. That’s why it failed.
Just like they need other people’s money to give stupid envious people free shit, it is always other people’s fault when the shit they are doing results in calamity, misery, and death.
Now you are catching on.
Catching on.
I blame the opposition really

U.S. Gun Sales Near Record High as Violent Crime Rate Drops
Someone tell PA.
“My Office is taking the initial step of clarifying – through my official, legal opinion – that under Pennsylvania law, 80% receivers are firearms and can be treated, regulated, and enforced as such,” AG Shapiro said today during a Capitol news conference with Governor Wolf and the PA State Police. “The proliferation of these untraceable weapons strikes at the heart of our public safety, hindering law enforcement’s ability to protect our communities. Today, we take the first step in addressing this problem.
“If we don’t recognize that 80 percent receivers are firearms under Pennsylvania law, we are creating a giant loophole that allows criminals to skirt our agreed-upon laws that keep people safe,” said Gov. Wolf. “Changing this classification will not hurt legal, responsible gun owners – This change will stop criminals, terrorists and other people who can’t pass a background check from acquiring a gun through the loophole.”
Are there even a significant number of crimes committed with firearms procured this way? //rhetorical
We all know street thugs definitely are going to spend the time and effort to go to a machine shop and finish the receiver then assemble the rest of the rifle before they go out a-killin’. It’s so obvious you Trumptard.
No criminal would ever stoop to *gasp* buying a stolen gun!
A-killin’ we will go! A-killin’ we will go! Hi-ho the merry-o, a-killin’ we will go!
Under Pennsylvania law, running for or holding elective office is child molestation and can be treated, regulated, and enforced as such.
Whee! This is fun!
Time for someone to invent a 79% receiver.
triblive.com had me anticipating something else.
80% receivers are firearms
Look at this piece of metal that can be fashioned into anything!!!!!
Of course, the law will get gamed by people offering “79% receivers.” They’ve got both kinds of politicians in PA: evil and stupid.
I’m pretty sure they’ll ignorantly re-write the law so that ingots of aluminum count as Firearms, because theyc ould be machined into lower recievers.
Why stop there? You can melt those soda cans into an ingot then machine a gun from it!
That soda can looks to be fully automatic, show me your Class III Coca Cola permit!
Bloomberg funded Shapiro is an ass hat. Who knew?
?
Those panamapost links triggered some security warning on my work internet. I hope I don’t get a call from IT.

For whatever reason, that made me think Pie is the guy in this video.
“It’s not what you think, I was just trying to score some coke”
The Hunter Biden Gambit
I thought that was knocking up your sister-in-law?
No no! After you have the affair with her, you knock up the stripper, then marry a South African model. The coke binges are mixed in there.
MAKE AMERICA MORAL AGAIN!
This is why my preferred candidate never wins — I just don’t understand politics.
Three B’s.
More Bullshit…
More Boozing…
More Butt Fucking…
Why isn’t this the Biden i’my supposed to vote for? The policies would be just as moronic but with Trump levels of entertainment.
The Republicans should nominate Hunter, then we’ll see Democrats running over themselves to investigate the Biden shit.
/golf clap for the acronym
It works fine on my Mac…

This guy gets it.
A not completely stupid analysis of why it sucks in Latin America from CNN.
“Argentina’s populist Peronists capitalized on center-right president Mauricio Macri’s austerity measures to defeat him in October.” – was there any real austerity though?
I think it’s laughable that a country that has defaulted several times this century already, is being criticized for austerity.
Whenever I accidentally read or listen to a journalist, I remember that the chances are good that the person has craploads of student loan and/or credit card debt and therefore should be ignored.
I remind myself that there’s a good chance that they previously hashed out their talking points on a JournoList-like forum or are possibly taking orders directly from the Democrat Party (as the hacked emailed revealed was going on).
Thank goodness the US doesn’t have to bother with “austerity”.
The howls that will come when we do are going to be epic.
Q have you sent the debate topics? I want to make sure I didn’t miss it.
I didn’t get nothin
Not yet. Sorry.
Been getting killed at work and with Holiday preparations.
No prob. Just checking

Brian Stelter✔
@brianstelter
Justice Neil Gorsuch is on “Fox & Friends” right now. The Q: How is it appropriate for a Supreme Court justice to try to goose sales of his three-month-old book by chatting on one of the most partisan shows on TV?
If only he stuck to notoriously injecting his personal political opinions at every opportunity.
Is the publisher a party to a case before the court?
Is the network?
No? Then I don’t see why we should listen to one partisan hack whining about someone else getting a guest he could only dream of.
Kagan and Notorious both officiated gay weddings while the issue was before the court, but hey that’s different for reasons.
You can hardly blame Stelter, Gorsuch said some hateful things during that interview.
“the ruling that struck down state abortion laws because justices read a new right to abortion into the Fourteenth Amendment.”
Ok Im pro life but I hate the rhetoric that new rights were “created” because it plays along with the idea that the only rights you have are enumerated. The 9th and 10th amendment should but be ignored. In this case it would mean that FedGov has no authority over this, go back to your State and work to change the law there.
One issue with unenumerated right is though how can one decide what they are. Is healthcare or housing such a right?
You clearly have a right to purchase healthcare and housing from those who will sell it to you.
With money you get from the government, That is the important bit. Otherwise it is not a real right.
The proper mode of analysis is what were the rights of free Englishmen at the time of the ratification of the 9th and 10th, because that’s what the people who voted on the 9th and 10th thought they were signing up for.
This can be done based on what was written at the time (e.g., things like Blackstone’s writings) or based on common custom (e.g., like look at all those people buying an selling houses and healthcare from any willing seller).
Was abortion a right of the free English at the time? I don’t know, but there’s a method to determine the answer to that.
Is the TSA FreedomGrope and RAPEscanner an unconstitutional violation? I do know – free English had the right of unmolested travel within their own country, so that’s an unenumerated right reserved in the 10th.
Get out of here with your rationalism and sober analysis!
To my layman’s view the problem is SCOTUS has read the 9th & 10th out of the Constitution so they “create rights” when they want them back for specific purposes. They aren’t rights in a general sense to benefit everyone but specific protections for some and to me fit much better at a state level.
The Chief Justice we need.
His book is pretty great…
Obama’s entire Presidency was but BUT building his brand.
The Q: How did Brian Stelter get on television?
He sucked someone’s dick?
Sorry, wrong format. The correct response is
The A: He sucked someone’s dick?
Good morning, Mr. Sharpshooter!
Thanks for the south-of-the-border lynx.
This wrap up from the gun article suprised me:

Argentina’s newly elected president, Alberto Fernandez, who lives near the hotel in Puerto Madero, has responded to the robbery.

Well know the cops will know everyones DNA.
Well, that ought to trigger a pleasant conversation btw the alt right and far left.
Why? It is not as if it is not known that the gene for white skin spread between 10k and 5k years ago…
It happens every time these articles come out.

These sorts of labels never seem to be very useful.
Gen Z, mostly. I don’t think who comes after has a name yet.
Gen Douches?

Move along, nothing to see here.
Back in February 2016, the government agency in charge of investigating money-laundering in the Baltic country of Latvia flagged some “suspicious” payments from the notoriously corrupt gas company Burisma Holdings to Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden. Latvia asked for Ukraine’s help in investigating the payments.
“The Office for Prevention of Laundering of Proceeds Derived from Criminal Activity … is currently investigating suspicious activity of Burisma Holdings Limited,” Latvia’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) wrote in a memo to Ukrainian financial authorities, according to investigative journalist John Solomon, who unearthed the document Tuesday. The Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s Office turned over the February 18, 2016, memo to Solomon, and Latvia’s embassy in the U.S. confirmed its veracity.
The memo drew attention to a series of loan payments totaling about $16.6 million routed from companies in Belize and Britain to Burisma through Ukraine’s PrivatBank between 2012 and 2015. The funds were “partially transferred” to Hunter Biden, who became a Burisma board member in May 2014 despite his lack of experience in the gas industry. His father, however, was the Obama administration’s point man on Ukraine. The funds in question were also transferred to three other officials working for Burisma.
I don’t now why people go on about Hunter Biden. It has all been debunked already.
Everybody admits Burisma is/was an extremely dirty company, yet “Hunter diddindo nuffin!”
I don’t really care what Hunter did, although it’s quite entertaining. It’s what Joe did that matters, and Joe was obviously selling his authority using Hunter as an intermediary.
Look fat, no one has ever said that.
*assumes push-up position*
COME AT ME BRO
Fake news. Pointed this out earlier. He didn’t say “fat”. He said “fag.” “Listen, Fat” doesn’t make sense.
It makes perfect sense if you think Biden is just seeing how bad he can be and still have the backing of major party people.
BAAAADD or awful?
He was going to say fatass and cut it off half way.
DEBUNKED CONSPIRACY THEORY!
Why do the media and the Dems say Trump abused his office by asking Ukraine to investigate a political opponent? Hunter Biden isn’t running for office
Furthermore, are they saying that if an elected official initiates an investigation against a person, that person can simply declare that they’re running against that official in the next election? Does the elected official have no choice but to call off the investigation?
The Office for Prevention of Laundering of Proceeds Derived from Criminal Activity (OPLPDCA), or as it’s known in Latvia, The PLOPCAD.
The French name is even better / actually funny. Bureau de Criminal Derivee … Poids and sommething quelquchose, I dunno.
The Q: (I am now stealing this from Testicle-Head Stelter himself): Would you pay Hunter Biden to do anything for $83k a month?
Mexico can’t be that dangerous, Sloopy’s going there only lightly armed.
I typically take a knife with me. Then again, I typically have a knife on me anyways.

Good.
Also good.
Virginia is about to have a civil war
The appropriate response would be to federalize the Virginia National Guard and have them prioritize evacuating noncombatants.
Hopefully not… I really want to use my shiny new AR to shoot paper only.
I had no idea Ruger made one in polished stainless.
The easier, peaceful solution is for every county not in the DC MSA to move from Virginia to West Virginia.
WV gets a lot bigger, VA gets a lot smaller, but number of senators conserved and really isn’t a lot of fuss. New West Virginia can move their capital to Lexington or somewhere about there.

Toxic male entitlement knows no limits.
https://nypost.com/2019/12/17/men-are-showing-up-to-the-wing-and-women-are-pissed/
Lol.
2019 appears to be a weird time to be a chick.
My first thought was how much crowing there was at women barging into male spaces when they still existed.
My thought exactly, it’s not like women haven’t made a habit of “choos[ing] to occupy a space
women specifically wanted for themselves. Classicpatriarchalmatriarchal entitlement complex.”double lol
Mind you the overlap with the retards who think sex-segregated bathrooms are literally Nazism is probably nearly total. Wild.
Where are Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari when we need them?
GeNDeR iS a SoCIaL cONsTruCT!
“The Wing was supposed to be the ultimate sanctuary for women: decidedly feminine in design, with walls and furniture in shades of millennial pink and a thermometer set at a women’s-clothing-friendly 72 degrees. Conference rooms and telephone booths are named after feminist icons like Anita Hill and fictional literary heroines such as Hermione Granger of “Harry Potter” fame. It offers perks that other co-working spaces can’t match — showers stocked with high-end beauty products and events featuring big names such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
What kind of man joins this in the first place anyway?
AOC. The celebration of illiberal ignorance! She’s gonna get re-elected.
Liberal male feminists, the skinny, neckbearded creeps who pretend to be pro-woman in order to get laid.
Incels, thus?
And it sounds like they’re failing at that!
Let’s ask her what she thinks of transwomen and I bet you’d get a whole different answer.
“But THAT’s okay because … “
It’s the lipstick and the sundress that makes it okay.
Probably not. There’re a lot of self-proclaimed feminists who are not ok with transwomen in women-only spaces like bathrooms. Search your favorite search engine for “TERF war”
oh, and my totally unscientific guess is that these kind of feminists are the same kind that would be attracted to a place that lists a character from Harry Potter as a heroine based only on her ability to kiss ass in school.
Oh, yes, I know. And I’m totally with the TERFs.
Odds Caitlin doesn’t extend this sentiment to, say, the Boy Scouts of America or other all-male organizations?
(Boy Scouts of America is open to scouts regardless of gender, but we made the change for our own purposes, not because of outside pressure)
I don’t get it, is it a gym? But then why are there conference rooms?
Showers and Conference Rooms. It’s like an earworm without the music aspect, the rest of the day I’m just going to randomly pause and say “Showers and Conference Rooms. Huh.”
The color of time?
Well that’s dumb. They should be allowed to ban men if they like… Just as some male-only club should be allowed to ban women.
It’s almost like “rights” should be universal and permanent, and not be thrown away just because people don’t like the way that other people are exercising them.
Wait, not the Babylon Bee?
This is what happened in Cuba through Fidel Castro’s speech “Guns? For what?”
“You don’t need a gun. We’ll protect you.”
I thought I’d heard that before.
Wait… it’s only Wednesday? WTF?
I have done almost 0 work this week. I don’t feel like starting something new till Friday when I go on holiday for until the 3d
It’s Wednesday, and I’ve finally recovered enough to be in the office.
Oh, and the christmas party is this friday.
It will be a short week.
What? A government office holding a Christmas party, and not a holiday gathering?
Look, I don’t care what the documents say, I’m going to a christmas party. Even if no one else is.
Apple, Amazon and Google unite to help create a universal smart home standard
I don’t want no smart home, but thanks
Once the home thinks it’s smarter than you it starts to get rebellious.
“Hey, let me in…it is cold out here!”
“I’m sorry Dave, I am afraid I can’t do that.”
*sensible chuckle*
Apple? That’s shocking they are participating, since they haven’t even managed to standardize their fucking chargers.
Apple has no interest in standard chargers.
Just mail the NSA a sample of your jizz while you’re at it. No thanks.
How else are you going to configure the jizz-activated user interface?
Makes sense. *Loads turkey baster*
I pity the morons who can’t operate a thermostat. They get the surveillance they deserve.
They can’t operate the thermostat, but I’m sure once it’s all standardized they’ll have no problem configuring the SmartHomeSystem.
What, those same people still can’t handle a new HDMI device? SHUT UP WRECKER.
That’s my wife, but she’s also a technophobe so I just sweat all winter and shiver all summer.
A GODSEND. Because of all the timesaving shit your new Smart Home can do, like the laund…no, sorry, you still have to lug the clothes down there and back, swap the loads between machines, measure and pour detergent, add dryers sheets, etc ok, but once you do all that, you can start the machines from anywhere on your Smart Phone.
Ok, let’s try that again, it can do the dishe….ok, no, see the laundry example. Coffee, can the smart home at least make coffe…ok, see the laundry example again.
Fridge inventory management? No? Feed the dog? No.
So aside from surveillance, what exactly can the Smart Home do?
Save you from yourself by notifying the police if you are engaged in harmful or antisocial behavior?
?????
Shut off all the fucking lights with your phone instead of me spending 10 minutes doing it 3x a day.
Maybe I should get a smart home. The minders will be like jfc this dude’s family keeps turning on every dang light in the house.

Oh, bother.

Unless you find dead people hilarious…
Have to break a few eggs to make an omelet and all that, I have been told by your usual marxist peddling utopia. That the train of eggs needing breaking never ceases, always escapes these types which eventually blame the need to keep breaking eggs on everyone but themselves and the broken ideology they peddle. Hence the “That was not true socialism/marxism/communism/collectivism shit. Collectivism in any of it’s forms (and that includes fascism, and the new, less bloody fascism western democracies have adopted), and by any of it’s definitions, only works in the insect world and in some family situations (where the parental units actually care). Otherwise it is a recipe for disaster writ large, with the only deliverable that they can guarantee being misery and death..
Poor dear. I suspect he’ll muddle through somehow.
We have a baby! 8:00am this morning.
No weight yet, we’re back in our room.
Congrats!
Hey when you steal a baby there is no time to weigh it, you take what you can get. Congrats on getting away with it.
First floor, and the windows are a breeze.
I hope he got the best one. And some unpainted furniture too.
Of course he got the best one. You saw the leftovers when your babies were born, the other parents were getting seconds/thirds. You would have thought they’d be embarrassed.
Congrats to you and your lady, DOOMco
there is no time to weigh it, you take what you can get
Measuring by volume is more useful in that situation, “this one will fit in your day-bag, now lets GTFOutta here!”
Woohoooo!
Congrats, Doom! How exciting!
All the best to the three of you!
There was some stress crying lady did right before they took her to get the spinal.
She’s great now. The wave of emotion right after they said there’s a baby out was amazing.
Awesome. What a great day!
grats. Good luck sleeping for the next couple of years.
A weightless baby? Put a blanket over it so it doesn’t float away.
Or some shoes that weigh just-more-than air.
It sounds like the baby is gassy already.
?????
Congratulations!
The only topic of conversation in your household will be poop for the next four years.
Plus ca change, Plus la meme.
Mazel tov
Huzzah! Hope everyone is well.
Congrats.
Congrats. Have you shitlorded and assigned the baby a gender?
Little girl!
Nice! Little Girls are the best.
Which glibspawn have you betrothed her to?
Remember Doomco – its nice to teach your boy how to wrasstle and shoot, but armed girls don’t get rapped.
Here’s a conversation I overheard at work:
Highly educated city girly-girl 1: “Aren’t you nervious walking to your car in the garage late at night?”
Highly educated city girly-girl 2: “Lol no my dad would kill me if I didn’t have my Kimber on me.”
I do look forward to teaching her a lot of things, a rifle is absolutely up on that list.
Congratulations.
Congrats!
CONGRATS!!!
Awesome. Congratulations!
Congrats!! ?
Congrats! Do you know who the father is?
Congrats! Best to you and your new family.
MAZEL TOV, OLD BOY!
Awesome!
Congratulations man. Enjoy the upcoming sleep deprivation. 🙂
Better you than me.
Enjoy her babyhood. Take lots of pictures. Don’t skimp on the pictures with #2. Don’t buy any toys or stuffed things because they won’t mean anything to the baby. Wait till she can enjoy them and form her own attachments to “her” things. Let her sleep on your chest. Chicken gizzards make the best teething rings. Read to her early and often and expose her to lots of different kinds of music.
Congrats! Enjoy your new tax deduction.
Don’t skimp on the pictures with #2
This is how you make it anal retentive.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!
Great news! Congrats to you and momma!
Congratulations, Doom. It’s fun.
“This is an awful tragedy,” he said. “I’m afraid crime, particularly aimed at well-to-do tourists, is all too common, not just in Buenos Aires but in the big South American cities.
“Argentina is a superb a destination, very safe, and a welcoming country.
“Unfortunately, like elsewhere in Latin America, there are criminals who will use violence if they need too.
‘All too common’ but ‘very safe’ at the same time?
“My advice is to run away if you can or hand over what they want.”
That’s a big ‘if’ champ. Then what?
Run Away, in a place you’re not familiar with. 65% of the time, it works every time.

If anything, this whole affair is proof positive that the Patriot Act’s creation of these courts was a mistake. All you need is an executive that has support from the media willing to not just go along with the abuses of power, but to cover for it – see the Obama administration – as it weaponizes the three letter agencies, and this thing turns into banana republic like shit.
“If you keep that up we’re going to have no choice but to continue rubberstamping every request made by the intelligence community and not tell anyone about it”
rubber stamp court that has approved all but a handful of the the thousands of warrant applications brought to it in the past decade in a half has a lot of gall pretending to rebuke anyone.
We have a baby! 8:00am this morning.
No weight yet, we’re back in our room.
Eek!
BREAKING NEWS: Say goodbye to comfort breaks! New downward-tilting toilets are designed to become unbearable to sit on after five minutes. They say the main benefit is to employees in improved employee productivity.
https://twitter.com/DaveVescio/status/1207028149873082368
Say hello to ADA viuolation lawsuits!
I assume it is a joke. If your employee wastes time on the shitter they will waste time in some other way
Nope, this seems like something that the lawyers will warn about immediately. If an employee has to use the toilet for longer than normal, due to a disability that is protected under the ADA, no matter how shitty the lost productivity is.
They will just have a few of those special shitters and claim accommodations were made. And everyone will fight over who gets to use the shitter that allows you to waste away hours of your day hiding in the bathroom. I also want to know if they plan to do this to the ladies rooms….
Fight over? They’ll just form an orderly line and wait their turn.
Do You Even Waste Company Time, Broh?
#metoo
Who actually wastes time on the shitter? I’ve never seen it.
Non-production line fabrication shop.
Boss makes a dollar
I make a dime
That’s why I shit on the company time!
I once heard snoring from a stall, but that’s it.
Then you are lucky to have never had a job where shitting was your preferred escape during the work day.
I just go outside and vape.
For those of us who don’t vape/smoke.
I can’t tell you how much nonsmokers resent the numerous smoke breaks. We don’t talk about it, but we’re seething.
When I started working, there were no smoke breaks.
People smoked at their desks, like God intended.
Then go out and grab a cup of coffee or read a book or something. There’s no reason to be resentful of it. I will typically do it once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Not exactly “numerous”.
Dragon Lady did that.
Well, I tried that in a couple of places and got in trouble. It wasn’t even a nice “Hey, heads up.”
I pointed out the smokers.
“That’s different.”
I don’t care if it’s twice a day. I care when it’s 8 times a day, every hour, on the hour.
Well… it’s not really like that any more, at least where I’ve been. If you take too many breaks – for any reason – you WILL get a talking-to.
I admit that I have not worked “out-of-doors” since my daughter was born 16 years ago.
I’m not actually sure I COULD get a regular job now, at my age and having missed advances in the last 16 years, not to mention any office politics.
And the only reason I say “advances” is because when I finished book 1 and went to start mailing out proposals and queries again for the first time i. 10 years, it was a huge shock to me that it was all email, which meant everybody and his brother was sending emails, where I had spent the 90s and a good portion of my disaposable income buying paper, envelopes, and stamps to query. Even that barrier to entry had opened up.
Something drastic has to have changed in 16 years.
Mojeaux, publishers went to email to make it easier to discard all unsolicited submissions unread. Carting whole manuscripts to the trash is hard work.
UCS, yes, I figured that out in about a day of carefully personalizing my query letters and double-checking email addresses.
That was when I bitched to my husband who said, “Publish it yourself.”
And that was when I went apeshit and screamed YOU CAN’T DO THAT!!!
I need to write that article about the Cult of Traditional Publishing.
It’s real.

If the richest 1% of American households paid at the same rates they did in the 40s and 50s, the change could be transformative.
“Every billionaire is a policy failure.” So says a key adviser to Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Ocasio-Cortez herself says that it’s wrong to have a “system that allows billionaires to exist” alongside poverty. And the New York Times columnist Farhad Manjoo recently called for us to “abolish billionaires”.
For most of the last four decades, the gains from economic growth have flowed overwhelmingly to the rich. Much of those gains to the rich weren’t “earned” in any traditional sense, but rather extracted, excess profits squeezed out of a system designed to favor those who already have power, position and wealth. Today, the top 1% of Americans own more wealth than the bottom 90% combined. It’s no wonder “abolishing billionaires” has become a rallying cry.
The good folks over at the Guardian (TW!), in their infinite wisdom, have decided to enlighten us about the horrific crime against humanity which is capitalism.
Last I heard, the effective rate is unchanged.
Financialization driven by loose federal reserve policy in turn driven by politics and government profligacy is mostly responsible for the colossal gains to the already wealthy over the last 40 years. But wouldn’t you know it, the solution is more government.
“abolish billionaires”
Trying to pretend that they are some sort of intellectual inheritors of the Abolitionist movement. In American Politics, as long as you can position yourself as anti-slavery, you win.
Taxation is slavery.
“That’s different. government doesn’t own slaves” says person who is defending government that reserves the right to own slaves.
Wait, I thought we had the AMT because there were millionaires and billionaires paying zero taxes through the generous deductions available. Does this moron not know the difference between a raw marginal rate and an actual rate paid?
Do journalists understand anything about the world they report on?
No and No.
Who are the fascists again?
“abolish capitalism”
Perhaps they can use this as a template for the campaign posters.
I imagine that these people have no problem with calssicide of the kulaks
AOC’s supporters prepare to abolish billionaires.
“For most of the last four decades, the gains from economic growth have flowed overwhelmingly to the rich.”
Don’t I know it. I complain all the time that here I sit on my laptop, communicating freely with people
all over the world, only rarely thinking about what food is in season, and getting free two day shipping
on just about anything I can think of for cheap. Just like I did in 1979.
I looked it up. At minimum wage, a gallon of gas cost 18 minutes in 1979. Today it costs 21 minutes.
So with all those other things, gas is about the same.
The idea the gains from growth have “flowed overwhelmingly to the rich” is absurd. If anything,
it’s the opposite. Even a billionaire has to put on his pants one leg at a time. He will live in
a bigger house, with maybe some nicer carpet, but a billionaires house isn’t much *better* than
an average new house, it’s just bigger. I can only drive one car at a time. Owning twelve cars
wouldn’t really improve my quality of life all that much over one.
You owning twelve cars would really only help your mechanic’s quality of life.
There are times women compete directly with men and win: https://www.bbc.com/sport/darts/50835824
Wow. Good for her
When the nature of the competition makes sexual dimorphism mostly irrelevant.
Boosting rich people’s taxes is sound policy. Extreme inequality is like economic pollution. It creates widespread harm that the polluters don’t pay for. Inequality makes bubbles more likely, it undermines the foundations for innovation and productivity, and it weakens and destabilizes consumer demand. Taxing it like pollution helps make the costs clearer and reduces the harm.
And of course, taxing the super-rich would generate revenue that could be put to better uses than letting that money sit in a Bahamian bank account of a billionaire.
What an… innovative analysis.
No bank sits on money. Any funds in a depost account are used to issue loans to other people who then spend that money, and so on.
No billionaire has their money sitting in bank accounts. It’s almost all wrapped up in assets, like the company they’ve built that employs tens of thousands of people, providing them jobs that were not there before.
I can’t stand this level of willful ignorance and economic stupidity.
Don’t forget with fractional reserves the banks loan out more money than they have on deposit.
Remember when fractional reserve banking was considered by some to be a problem?
We’re so far beyond it now, nobody even bother to talk about it anymore.
Is ignorance willful if you’re functionally brain-dead?
Meanwhile… Democratic house is thinking of increasing the Top marginal rate from 37 to 39.5% so that they can re-introduce a higher cap to the SALT. Cause nothing says “Stick it to the rich, like fucking over the middle class to help out mansion owners in Blue States.
They even have a name for it, “Restoring Tax Fairness for States and Localities Act.” They really do suck.
I’ve always been against the elimination of the SALT deduction, but saying this is about fairness? If your states taxes are so high that you are paying 10,000 in state taxes then you might need to fix your state.
Might I ask why?
Because being double taxed is bullshit and taxation is theft, so raising someones taxes in the name of “Paying your fair share” is always immoral.
Even with the deduction, you’re still getting double taxed on most of your income – or triple taxed, or quadruple, depending on where you live. Insulating residents of high tax jurisdictions from the full effect of their elected officials’ policies does not seem condusive to fixing the problem of the high tax jurisdiction’s tax rate.
I don’t see why New Yorkers should pay less in federal taxes than Texans.
So the blue states should have a Federal Income Tax deduction. Problem solved.
Just because double taxation happens elsewhere is not a good reason to uphold it any and everywhere.
I don’t see why New Yorkers should pay less in federal taxes than Texans.
You’re acting like New Yorkers get to keep the portion of income that they are deducting. That Income was taxed (i.e stolen) from them. Eliminating the SALT deduction increases peoples taxes. The people in Texas still end up paying the same amount of taxes they were going to pay. All that happens is now someone else has been made more of a tax slave. Slavery isn’t made better because people are “equally” slaves to the same master. So yeah, people in High tax places were paying slightly less than people elsewhere to one of the Tax Masters. Making things “fair” doesn’t make things right.
You’ve convined me – we have to do away with all deductions.
It’s the only way to wake up people to the chains and get them to move against the taxation.
You’ve convined me – we have to do away with all deductions.
It’s the only way to wake up people to the chains and get them to move against the taxation.
That is a strategy. And it is consistent.
When UCS puts on his Consistency Gloves, he means business.
Those gloves are really hard to put on, since the “left-” and “right-” hand ones are identical.
Use the gloves that are the consistency of paint. They fit like a glove.
Three trillion dollars in new revenue is enough to make college free at all public universities, make a massive new investment in infrastructure along the lines of what Senate Democrats have proposed, and triple the budget for the National Institutes of Health. Needless to say, all of these investments would pay enormous economic dividends.
Three trillion dollars goes really fast doesn’t it.
And it would only take all that we currently collect in Tax Revenue to do.
And it’s a one-shot deal because, well, the economy has been destroyed.
1/2 of the 3 T would go for the present student debt. At least those kids would be getting a free education (- what they already have paid)

There will be those who claim the sky will fall if we tried to tax the rich like this. They’ll predict widespread economic damage, maybe even collapse. These warnings of doom and gloom rely on the theory that growth and prosperity come from rich people’s ingenuity and knowhow. If we tax them, they might take their ball and go home. That’s preposterous, of course. Rich people are neither the source of economic prosperity, nor will they decide to go off and form their own society in Antarctica or 10 miles off the coast of San Diego.
In fact, taxing rich people will make our economy work more like it should. If we disincentivize hoarding at the top, money will more easily flow to the workers and families who really drive economic growth. And the tax revenue we generate can be put to good use, investing in working people, in communities across the country, and in our collective future. And before long, instead of a few hundred billionaires taking ever more, we could instead have a thriving middle class, widespread economic security, and real opportunities to give the next generation a better life.
Assume a magic wand.
“If we disincentivize hoarding”

Commie Q&A

LOL. Here was the thought process that went through the person’s head when they wrote that:
WTF? How can someone say that there were less rights? People had so many more rights than they did before… I mean i guess the merchant and buisness classes lost some rights… But like those don’t matter
That paper says I have all these rights!
Wait wut? Why am I being shipped out to the Gulag? I am a true believer! All I did was point out that the comrade running the country was not being a good communist because he has a dacha!
Rights depend on income. Thought they didn’t like that.
This is like the event horizon of stupid.

When UCS has to tell you you’re killing the fun….
Checks/cash are fun and easy to open for most teenagers and beyond
Given that my daughter had made the last 5 Christmas mornings miserable with her crying in disappointment over her gifts, which is the only thing I can remember of them, I’m not bothering this year with anything I have to wrap.
my daughter had made the last 5 Christmas mornings miserable with her crying in disappointment over her gifts
Jeebus. I couldn’t imagine ever bitching about a gift, even when I was a teenager.
Screw it. I’d just throw her a couple-three $20s this year.
I did it once and got a stern talking-to from my three older brothers about it. Never again.
Yup, that was beat out of us at an early age.
With your kid?
Your kid, your rules. Your brothers can butt right out. I would never dream of sticking my nose in Bro Dean’s family business.
I think I misread. If you were the ungrateful brat doing the crying, yeah, your brothers did the right thing.
Sounds like the usual raising and socializing by old children in a family. Something that gets lost in single child or two child families.
I bitched (very bitterly) about this here last year and everybody was shocked. I actually don’t know if it was the fact that she cried (again) or that I called her a bunch of different names like lazy and ungrateful.
She wanted a guitar. She wanted a guitar we couldn’t afford and even if we could, we couldn’t afford lessons. We bought her a parlor guitar.
No, it is not a Stratocaster. You don’t get a BMW when you don’t know how to drive.
Did she practice on the one you gave her? You have to have at least an intermediate proficiency at an instrument to start thinking of getting a high quality one. Money or no money.
I got her books and a stand and accessories. She had already been in 5th grade strings. She has YouTube. I don’t even know if she tried (her room is pretty far away from ours and quiet, so I wouldn’t know if she practiced or not).
If I’d had money I’d have gotten her lessons. In my house, “I don’t have any money” isn’t a good enough excuse.
We’re broke so she’s not even getting that much. Mr. Mojeaux bought them a couple of cheap phones with cases and since she’s been bitching about her phone for the last few months, she better not bitch about this or it’s getting taken away from her.
One year, I took her gifts back, with her in tow to watch.
Absolutely based.
I would say let me introduce you to my mother, but I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy.
Fuck me. I just did the wrapping last night, and that is so much easier.
I’ll forget by next year, though, so its all good.
Looks ugly as shit, though.

Communist-led states have historically had a tendency to expand rights for most people (at the cost of bourgeois rights that don’t actually matter for most people).
Wheeeee!

I know i already commented on this but again. This part. They act like it was just a little loss of property for these people. Not that many were robbed, imprisoned and murdered.
No one objects to a little death and massive poverty.
It was for the greater good dude.
“It was for the greater good, dude.” FTFY. Oh, wait. Never mind. You had it right.
Further they can’t comprehend that taking from people caring about their property and making effective use of it leads to worse outcomes down the road. They get the Crack high of “equality” oriented policies and assume all the crack-whores out there just did it wrong and they know better.

Afghanistan War – The Crime of the Century
At the time I could not understand why the hell we were moving heavy units in there after Bin Laden had been chased out. Now I do. If the Bidens, Pelosi, Kerry, etc. were skimming $millions off a few $billion in Ukrainian aide, how much did our ruling class skim off a $2Trillion 18-year war?
Bin Laden had us pegged in that sense. He knew our arrogance and pent-up desire for empire would be the end of us in the long run.
Nobody I know has a pent-up desire for empire. But every politician I see seem to have a limitless desire to grift, even if it means waging war for their profit.
I want an empire – but only if I’m the absolute monarch and protected from assassination.
The Deep State has a pent-up desire for empire.
It’s never phrased that way to the rest of us, but DC is full of those assholes.

Washington Post: Did we say that per-student spending on public schools has gone DOWN since the late 1980s? It’s actually gone up. Whoopsie!
Yeah, anyone pretending still that the issue is money wasted and not the fact that the educational system is a failure, IMO is a meathead.
Of course they corrected it when no one is looking.
Spending on education (in inflation-adjusted dollars) has nearly tripled since the 1970s, with no change in academic achievement and outcomes. Spending is not correlated to student achievement. In fact, the neither are teacher salaries or class size. The best predictor of academic achievement is parental engagement.
I’d also posit that per pupil and overall spending are not correlated to class size or teacher pay over that time period, meaning the growth in spending has been funneled into staff, administrators, and plant that has even less to do with teaching. I’d also posit that the overall ability and quality of teachers has also declined during that same period.
You would be right on the money.

I will go back and read the comments in a minute.
What is it about this girl that she has the leaders of two nations commenting on her behavior? Don’t they have better things to do than acknowledge her existence?
“President Trump, Greta Thunberg says … ”
“Who?”
“Presidente Bolsonaro, Greta Thunberg says … ”
“Who?”
I get that trolling her is Trump being Trump and Bolsonaro is completely correct. It’s just … she is being paid attention to. Disparaging comments are find AND are called for, to be sure, but it’s a REaction, not an ACT and it seems like a 16yo girl is forcing the leaders of two countries to pay attention to her, if only to mock her.
Call out her handlers for crying out loud. “Get this screaming toddler out of the room and let the adults get on with things” (escalate to mockery of her handlers if necessary), but isn’t there a better way to deal with her than ignoring her (which wouldn’t work, as any parent of a squalling toddler knows) or trolling her, which is giving her exactly what she wants?
It’s a conundrum, but it feels oogey.

I’ve lived in Germany. Visited France, Spain, and Austria.
Ireland (7 times, most of my family live there), England, The NL (2.5 years there), Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, and most importantly Romania.
Lived in Europe for 8 + years, 5 in France, 2.5 in Spain, 1 in Germany, paid vacations courtesy of the Tax Payers of America. A couple Asian bonus vacations as well
Travel arrangements made by our elected officials in DC
Been to Europe. I was not favorably impressed.
yeah but you are either a surly curmudgeon or a country bumpkin or something
Netherlands, Austria, Spain, Ireland, England
Hmmmm.
Italy, France (numerous times — got family there), The Netherlands (numerous times — spousal unit’s got family there), Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain (not nearly enough), Croatia, Crna Gora (Montenegro), Greece, Malta, I think that’s it. Pretty much all of the remainder’s on my bucket list.
Same. Even Romania 😉
/raises hand
Ireland a couple years back.
Planning on Belgium and Germany this summer
here’s a tip: don’t drink the beer
That seems a terrible tip, no wonder Europeans get the reputation of terrible tippers.
Vacation to Ireland and England.
Business travel to Ireland, England, Netherlands, France, Germany, and Russia.
I could see retiring to western Ireland. Otherwise, fuck Europe.
Only the UK, though I have had two European trips cancelled because of family issues.
Canada
England
Scotland
Belgium
Holland
Lichtenstein
Germany
France
Switzerland
Bucket list:
Spain
Italy
Caribbean
Depends, the UK was still in the EU when I visited England, twice. Does that count?
I am not favorably inclined about visitng the continent. Reason – the signage. I didn’t realize how much being rendered functionally illiterate caused me stress until I wandered into a monolingual (French) store in Quebec and was surrounded by text that was nought but gibberish to my brain. I knew what the letters and numbers were, but they didn’t make words.
Not sure how badly I would react to a different alphabet entirely, but that was not a fun experience.
From my trip to Germany, I found that “Sprechen ze Visa?” was a very helpful phrase. Turns out, nearly everybody did!
I wasn’t anywhere near the registers, I was just looking for plastic forks. The irrational irritation at being rendered involuntarily illiterate was incredible. Especially for someone who hates to talk to people.
I studied Russian in high school. So when I got to Moscow, the alphabet on the signage was familiar even though I was woefully lacking in vocabulary.
Going to Guangzhou with no past experience was weird. It’s the only place I have been to that I couldn’t function without a translator (couldn’t check in or out of the hotel without our local guy helping out).
My foreign language ability consists of one high school semester each of Spanish, French, German, and Italian (1980s FL graduation requirements). Wifey’s dad lived in Amsterdam. For some reason the Dutch get cross when one pronounces their Katzenjammer Kids language in the manner of a German. Luckily, everyone in Holland seems to speak passable English.
My issue would be when I ran into a sudden and complete dead spot in my vocabulary. I would be doing fine, and then the cashier would ask if the order was for there or to go and I’d be “…pardon?”
Interestingly enough, I made it through the entire door porter instructions (for the passenger told how to operate the emergency door on the train) in French. I don’t know if that spiel is deliberately dumbed down, or only uses older, less-fluid language or what.
I’m wondering if complete ignorance of the alphabet is going to be less or more severe with my particular set of neuroses. My competing theories were that my mind was trying to make sense of something that should be legible but was not producing any meaning, versus simply being agitated at not being able to navigate the signage. I’m not quite sure which it was.
Canada, Portugal, Spain, Wales, England, Taiwan, China.
I was on a train that stopped in Bucharest. I wouldn’t claim that I visited Romania because I didn’t go far from a train car but I bought some kind of souvenir: they were peddled by locals.
I think this map is current.
Visited France, incidentally during World Cup ’98.
Just as much beer-drinking-sports-watching as America, slightly more racism, food unimpressive.
3/5 Stars
I haven’t and won’t visit any place outside of US jurisdiction.
Also, apropos of nothing, my great-grandmother was a Hungarian emigre and by all accounts constantly bitched about Romanians and called them filthy gypsies.
Lived there for six years. Go back roughly every other year.

Classy, well-adjusted, and civically responsible people.
Headliner Alyssa Milano, the actress-turned-activist, told the crowd she was tired of the “bullshit” from the “asshole” in the White House, and urged attendees to vote out Trump and the Republicans in the upcoming 2020 election.
Signs — most homemade — included: “Impeach and Remove”; “Trump Is Not Above the Law”; and simply “Impeach 45.” Less polite signs included “Fuck Cheeto Voldemort” and “Make the Asshole Go Away,” the latter a play on Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.
One man carried a rubber head of Trump on a pike. He told Breitbart News he wished it were the real thing.
Related.
“I’m not tired of fighting Donald Trump and his many, many impeachment offenses. And I’m not tired of speaking truth to power. But I am so tired of being lied to by a president. And I’m tired that the entire Republican Party think we are all stupid,” Alyssa Milano said to the of more than 1,000 protesters who converged to Grand Park outside City Hall.
“Show me what democracy looks like. Show me what democracy looks like,” Milano said, leading the crows in a chant.
“They think we’re dumb. They think we’re dumb enought to believe that if they complain about the procedure enough, that we’ll think that Trump is innocent of any impeachable offenses,” the actor continued. “I mean, this asshole has committed obstruction of justice, abuse of power, bribery, obstruction of Congress, and the American people know this, and we also know the Republicans are picking party over country.”
Idk about what other people think but I’d say you are a few eggs short of a dozen.
I wonder what the hissy fit is gonna look like when he gets re-elected? Or when he picks the next SC Justice?
Show me what democracy looks like.
Uh, like an angry mob lynching minorities?
What do I win?
Pretty close.
if they complain about the procedure enough, that we’ll think that Trump is innocent of any impeachable offenses
I wonder if they arguing the same thing that Prosecutors argue when they try to nail a guy for a crime. I know, yes this is all “Political” and “Not a real Trial”, which i find is a cop out. Those procedures in “Real trials” are not their because of some special determination that “real trials” have to give rights to the accused. it’s there because “Real Trials” are ostensibly about finding the truth and not getting carried away with faux mob justice. So yes complaining about and ensuring fair procedure and rules is a vital part of the “determining innocence” part of any trial.
I know, yes this is all “Political” and “Not a real Trial”‘
Until it’s convenient for them for it to be a trial. See yesterday’s discussion.
That’s the thing about this whole farce. They keep changing the definitions of words and standards of reasoning to fit whatever happens to be the convenience of the moment. Really, they aren’t even trying to maintain any semblance of process or standards other than “I want it NOW!”
OK, let’s do a real trial.
Those generally have things like “motions to dismiss”, an obligation for the prosecutor to turn over all exculpatory evidence, broad scope for the defendant to mount his defense and challenge the credibility of witnesses, and jail time for lying.
Sure that’s what you want, Dems?
I agree with you completely.
Of course, then they’ll say it’s a political decision and not a trial.
If the shoe fits, sweetie.
leading the crows in a chant
Just another instance of Trump fomenting hate and dividing America.
One man carried a rubber head of Trump on a pike. He told Breitbart News he wished it were the real thing.
An attempt at a follow up interview was unsuccessful. Witnesses said the man had been snatched off the street by men who pulled a bag over his head and threw him into a black SUV, which then drove off at a high rate of speed.
And Q is trying to frame me as a perv. I am on to you Q!
David Brock PAC Drops $2 Million Into Anti-Trump Ads
https://freebeacon.com/politics/david-brock-pac-drops-2-million-into-anti-trump-ads/
A senior official for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign told the Daily Beast that Brock and his constellation of PACs and organizations are “useless” and added that the tens of millions of dollars they spent in 2016 might as well have been thrown down a well and set on fire. A former Obama administration official also referred to Brock as “fucking weird” and likened him to Mugatu from the movie Zoolander. “I don’t know what the fuck [Brock’s network] did besides raise a ton of money, and I don’t think the after-action report on 2016 says we need more David Brock. Probably the opposite is true,” the official said.
heh
The investigations will continue…
Lawyers for the House told a federal court on Monday that lawmakers will continue their impeachment investigation even after the House votes later this week to impeach President Donald Trump.
In a filing to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, House General Counsel Douglas Letter argued that the House’s demands for grand jury materials connected to former special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation were still urgent because such evidence might become relevant to the Senate’s expected impeachment trial next month.
But Letter went further to note that even apart from the Senate trial, the House Judiciary Committee intends to continue its impeachment investigation arising from the Mueller probe on its own merit. That investigation began earlier this year.
“The committee has continued and will continue [its impeachment] investigations consistent with its own prior statements respecting their importance and purposes,” Letter wrote in a filing Monday as part of the House’s bid to obtain Mueller’s grand jury evidence.

Better than writing new legislation I suppose.
It’s kind of fun watching the final house mmuhpeachment speeches. Both sides are pretending like they are trying to convince those on the other congress critters. Worse acting than in infomercials.
I say kill em all and let God decide who was right.

I think that’s about all I played the last decade.
Decade? I have played so many games over the last ten years that I can’t even remember them all.

I am Trump, harvester of organs
The Trump administration announced a proposed change to rules it hopes will radically transform the kidney donation system in the United States resulting in 5,000 more organ transplants a year.
The organ procurement system for kidneys is “broken,” US Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said Tuesday.
The limitless perfidious cruelty of the man. How can he live with himself?
That orange bastard! He’s killing people!
What the story fails to mention is that the organs being harvested are from all the people who died from tax cuts, repealing net neutrality, confirming Judge Kavanaugh, and pulling out of the Paris Climate Accords.
Fuck you, orange man!
Don’t forget all the children who died in immigrant detention facilities (which were invented by Trump and never existed under any previous presidential administration).
And we dare not mention the pair harvested form Merrick Garland.
Time to vent… how many fscking times do I need to tell one of the tier one guys I got tapped to mentor to note the gods damned ticket? If for no other reason then to cover your own ass later down the line. And always confirm the change is working for the person who put in the request (if there’s something they can test), and fscking note the request and the confirmation.
Well, I just got an order conformation from a vendor with the wrong shipping address…
FOR THE THIRD FUCKING TIME!
Is the ticket for an issue with the filesystem?

The craziest story going on for the past few months: banks are all full on treasuries, crippling the repo market and resulting in the Fed buying up excess treasuries.
https://libertarianinstitute.org/articles/how-excessive-federal-spending-sparked-a-liquidity-crisis/
“How Excessive Federal Spending Sparked a Liquidity Crisis”
FTA:
“Since mid-September 2019, the U.S. Federal Reserve has been fighting to contain a liquidity crisis in the nation’s money markets that was caused in large part by excessive spending by the U.S. government.
That surge in spending was prompted by “the worst budget deal in history” in late-July 2019, which forced the U.S. Treasury Department to begin borrowing massive amounts of money to provide the additional funds that a bipartisan majority of U.S. politicians authorized to spend. Consequently, the public portion of the national debt has been increasing to keep pace, reaching crisis levels in mid-September 2019.”
A timely reminder that the bread and circuses in DC is little more than a diversion from the incoming Sweet Meteor of Debt.
But at least we’ll be safe!
Hey now, Japan’s central bank has been buying up the government’s debt and keeping interest rates low for decades now without any negative ramifications whatsoever. Yup, all is good in Japan.
It’s substantially worse when it happens here because of the knock on effects throughout the global financial system. The fact that foreign demand for treasuries is flatlining is the first step on the long, but really not that long, road to the collapse of US dollar. Which would be merciful at this point anyway.
Disappointing.
He’s got to appeal.
I still think Trump should pardon him and reappoint him. I’m hoping at least a pardon is in the works, and is being delayed for strategic purposes. I could see letting the case run because Sullivan seemed to be willing to police prosecutorial misconduct, but he pussed out on the “A guilty plea is a guilty plea” theory, without taking into account that this was effectively a coerced plea.
I hope Flynn gets pardoned.
Unrelated to his prosecution, it was Mike Flynn’s critical view of the War in Afghanistan that led to the Washington Post finding the papers alleging a long cover-up in Washington about the progress of that conflict. Now a crazy person might say that this is a reason why he got ensnared in all this. But, that would obviously be crazy. Like suggesting that the FBI lied through this whole investigation. That’s just crazy.
https://www.businessinsider.com/mike-flynn-interview-afghanistan-papers-report-2019-12
Flynn was going to overhaul the intelligence services, which is why they bushwacked him in the first place. So yes, Trump should pardon and re-appointment him, then let him run wild on those assholes.
and is being delayed for strategic purposes
Can you pardon someone before they’ve been sentenced?
Sure – Ford pardoned Nixon before he was charged.
Even more confusing. I regret asking.
Sweet Meteor of Debt.
Nice.
Good news.

https://www.businessinsider.com/mike-flynn-interview-afghanistan-papers-report-2019-12
I mentioned this in a response up top, but it’s worth repeating: Mike Flynn’s blunt assessment about the war in Afghanistan provided the tip that led to the Washington Post uncovering that politicians had been lying about that conflict through two presidents. I’m sure this had nothing to do with the FBI going out of their way to screw him.
Perish the thought!
