So get this. OMWC thinks that dealing with a dementia patient in a wheel chair, who happens to be his Mom, while simultaneously dealing with the TSA security theater, in a crowded airport packed with clueless snowbirds, then flying across the country to move Mom into a memory care facility at 10 p.m. on a Saturday night, earns him the right to skip out on Sunday morning links duty on his way back to the airport to fly home in time to get to work tomorrow at 6 a.m.
He’s correct. You’re stuck with me.
Here’s a Super Secret TPTB Chat Room exchange from last night, while OMWC was trying to eat a takeout dinner at the memory care place.
OMWC: A guy wandered in, assured me that the business was doing well, they were going to bring me into it, then he took my garlic bread and walked away eating it. They’re going to give me a drawing, he assured me. He’s quite jolly and affable.
TPTB, always supportive: Must be nice not to be the oldest man in the room for a change!
Birthdays:
A woman who probably wished one could choose one’s relatives; a guy whose wife needed some serious time in a salon; the guy with allegedly the most-visited grave in Paris; a man who got the hell out of Des Moines, Iowa (a town I actually like); and a woman about whom my best friend once said, “If she’s stable, I’m a toaster.”
In other news, at least Sloopy will be a happy drunk today. Sorry Wisconsin.
I’m happy for this Montana family. And happy there are nice people who will help reunite them.
I find this hard to believe. Aren’t all elections conducted in a fair, legal, and ethical manner worldwide?
This was most certainly covered by someone here yesterday. It has science and facts! As HM remarked in chat: A moral panic – with statistics.
Yes, it does snow in parts of Arizona.
Exactly what I expect from dentists. Well, you know, not exactly exactly, but I’m not surprised.
And a topical Old Guy Music selection to continue the uplifting tone of OMWC’s weekend!
Have a better one than he is, kids.
Go Pack!
All the best to you and OMWC. That must be difficult.
Mom kept saying, “If I knew this is what you were doing, I wouldn’t have gotten on the airplane.”
Me: “That’s why we didn’t tell you what we were doing.”
Mom: (bursts out crying)
Me: (feels like a total shitheel)
That’s tough, man.
Brutal.
Ouch. Sorry, old dude.
I posted this late
Sometimes doing good is tough. Its the best thing for your Mom and certainly the right thing for SP and you. In addition your sister is nearby and capable of making the family decisions. Its hard but our own kids will have to make those same decisions one day and I think we agree that they should make them and not carry any guilt. My heart goes out to you nonetheless.
Sorry 🙁
Sorry, dude. It’s no fun making the tough decisions.
Sorry
sorry for what it’s worth
Sorry.
Damn. That is a tough one. Best wishes for all.
Damn, that’s tough. Hang in there.
Oh wow that must have been tough. I am really sorry.
So sorry.
Sorry Old Man, I am going through this with my Dad, it just sucks.
I’m sorry you are both having to deal with such a tough situation.
I missed out on the in-person breakdowns. All I had to do was avoid telling her the truth all day every day for a week. OMWC and his sister had the horrible interactions.
The whole thing is heartbreaking. Fuck Alzheimer’s.
So much, this.
Can anyone recommend a good Alzheimer’s research organization? I want to add one to my Christmas giving list.
This is the only one I’m familiar with, but I can’t speak to its ratings re: overhead, etc.
Thanks GT. I’ll check it out.
Check out CharityNavigator.org
Charity Navigator is an absolute shit website. Absolute shit. I’ve had clients that couldn’t pay their electric bill get good ratings because of the high program/total cost, and great ones that were building their infrastructure to expand get savaged because admin was higher than normal/desired. Nonprofits need to be assessed based on milestones achieved and that is harder than plugging their 990 into an algorithm.
Oh, did I mention Fuck Charity Navigator?
Good to know.
I have no particular knowledge with them, tending to give to organizations with which I have personal experience.
It is a goddamned evil disease. I didn’t have much to do with my ex’s family after our divorce but my son told me stories of his grandfather. Heartbreaking.
All the devastation but without the actual death that lets the grieving run its course. Yeah, Fuck Alzheimer’s indeed.
It’s diabetes of the brain. At least that’s what a bunch of researchers at NIH seem to believe. The evidence strongly suggests that it’s a similar mechanism as that which destroys your kidneys in diabetes.
Sorry, OM and whole Candy Family. Thoughts and well-wishes to all.
So sorry both of you need to deal with this. OMWC you really got the worst of it. I hope the placement works out for everyone.
Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts. Sincerely, that eases my pain significantly.

“Since the advent of the internet, porn use has skyrocketed to dizzying heights. Pornhub, the world’s largest free porn site, received over 33.5 billion site visits during 2018 alone.”
How much is that in gallons?
“The perpetuation of sexual violence online is particularly troubling, as rates of real-life incidences may escalate as a result. Some scientists attribute this relationship to the action of mirror neurons. These brain cells are aptly named because they fire when the individual performs an action but also while observing the same action performed by someone else.
The regions of the brain that are active when someone is viewing porn are the same regions of the brain that are active while the person is actually having sex. Marco Iacoboni, a professor of psychiatry at University of California Los Angeles, speculates that these systems have the potential to spread violent behavior: “the mirror mechanism in the brain also suggests that we are automatically influenced by what we perceive, thus proposing a plausible neurobiological mechanism for contagion of violent behavior.”
Though speculative, this suggested association between porn, mirror neurons and increased rates of sexual violence serves as an ominous warning. While high porn consumption may not drive viewers to harrowing extremes, it is likely to change behaviour in other ways.”
I’m no scientist, but that sounds like buulshit.
If porn did all those things the jails would be full of old guys
as rates of real-life incidences may escalate as a result.
Or may not. These are the same assholes blaming video games for violence in society.
It’s a veritable Mediterranean Sea of jizz.
That’s a lot of gallons..
And galleons.
“rates of real-life incidences may escalate as a result”
If that were going to happen it would have already.
Love the qualifier ‘may’. That can also be read ‘may not’.
These fuckers are full of shit.
Exactly this. High speed internet has been ubiquitous for years. If there was any substance to the the theory then we would have seen a spike in crime rates.
Which is the worse aspect of the internet? Easily available extreme porn and violence that may desensitize viewers? Or easily available hyperbolic reports sensationalizing scientific studies that may create moral panics?
The latter but you knew that.
2848307.29167
That’s more than 10M liters, Pie.
It’s forty rods to the hogshead, and that’s the way I like it.
Hands free porn?
Yeah
Pornography has existed throughout recorded history, transforming with the introduction of each new medium. Hundreds of sexually explicit frescoes and sculptures were found in the Mount Vesuvius ruins of Pompeii.
It’s almost as if people are obsessed with it.
I’ll be in my bunk.
So, I was supposed to go see Jonny Lang last night at a really cool supper club venue. I had bought 4 tickets and invited the niece and her fiance. They both flaked, so my wife and I were planning on going ourselves. The venue called 4 hours before the show and said it was cancelled because of a “health issue,” but I could go see him tomorrow at one of the sister clubs. Never had anything like that happen. I’m not too bummed out, because I’ve seen him like three times before, it’s just weird.
Similar thing happened to us with Turnpike Troubadours earlier this year. But they haven’t played since.
I hope Evan Felker is out of rehab and getting better. I would really like to see them someday.
? Wow, didn’t know that. Apparently they are “on hiatus”.
Though speculative, this suggested association between porn, mirror neurons and increased rates of sexual violence serves as an ominous warning.
If it saves just one Japanese schoolgirl LARPer…
“Though speculative, this suggested association” Prelude to some serious bullshit, right there.
This is code for, “If you WANT to believe, here are some rationalizations.”
The porn story: I didn’t read it be because my iPad is trying to route me through Apple News but I can see the headline. It’s interesting to see the scolds and moral panickers going after porn again. Maybe the left censors and the right censors will be able to put their heads together and come up with a grand censor bargain where they get rid of damn near everything that’s interesting and edgy via a nice bipartisan consensus.
Yeah, I hate how Chrome handles links to Google photos — doesn’t seem to want to let me open them up in the background.
Doing the right thing is seldom easy.
In the long run, it’s easier than doing the wrong thing.
But its not nearly as entertaining.
I arrived in Phoenix in January a few years ago, stayed with a friend. The next morning there was snow on the ground, inch or two. The next door neighbor came over early and angrily told me “Go back where you came from, you brought this damned snow”
“Be nicer to me, or I’ll conjure up a blizzard.”

But why?
Running up the score:
https://twitter.com/spectatorindex/status/1203568677313859586
That’s enough kids to stand at midfield, hold hands, and not let the pros through. I’m disheartened that the intelligent Japanese aren’t capable of thinking outside the box. Than again the pros could just plow through them but that seems dishonorable.
Or jump over them.
Why not? That’s hilarious.
Good morning, SP and the rest of you early risers!
The Arizona story is sad. Gotta have that winter emergency stuff in the car, people.
From the dog story:
Christ, what an asshole.
Make it a great day, people. Don’t steal anyone’s dog.
You can have my neighbor’s dogs, they spend a lot of time at my house/yard. I’m not interested in sharing his pets but he
doesn’t seem to mind.
I’m normally opposed to dragging people behind my pickup, but these are the kinds of cases that make me seriously consider it.
So Cassandra has a history of being a poor judge of character.
Man, I’m a bit hungover. I drank A LOT yesterday.
Not sure how the rankings will play out, but Georgia are straight up ass and I don’t know why LSU would jump Ohio State. But who knows.
Anyway, have a great day.
#MeToo. Those evening games kill me.
Gonna be smelling like stale beer & pickle juice in church. Again.
Dunno. How does “comeback over #8” rate vs. “trouncing #4”?
It’s tOSU. Sloopy thinks the rules should always be interpreted so as to fuck over non-tOSU.
Not really. I’m just not that impressed by LSU’s schedule. Especially the second half of it. But I am very impressed by their team. They’re solid. So is Clemson.
Georgia’s offense is hot garbage. That was made worse by a completely depleted receiving corps.
And you can’t assess the season by one game. Let’s look at the last three weeks…OSU has beaten a pair of top 10 teams by double digits in addition to thumping #13 TTUN while LSU was beating a dreadful Arkansas team, an average aTm team and #4 Georgia. Plus they played a freaking FCS school.
Why do you care? Does it really matter to you whether you play Clemson or Oklahoma in the first game?
Location is what mattered to us. Wanted to go to my parents. Now have to go to Banjos’s.
Because if OSU plans on starting a CFP game like that, they won’t be hoisting a trophy.
“A US official says the Saudi student who fatally shot three people at a Florida naval base had hosted a dinner party the night before to watch videos of mass shootings.”

Was that a dinner party held for the purpose of watching those videos or did those videos just happen to be watched over the course of the night? The former is quite a red flag, the latter not so much.
Totally ties into the porn story?
I need to find a video of someone cleaning out their catbox and watch it.
The internet is for porn and cat pics. Let’s have some of the second thing.

And contrary to what the pictures may convey, I can guarantee most of those cats would scratch your eyeballs out.
Apparently it’s not all that great:

When Democrats won a Senate seat in Alabama two years ago, their chairman declared that “black women are the backbone of the Democratic party, and we can’t take that for granted”. #ThankBlackWomen began trending and the “backbone” metaphor has been an applause line ever since.
Yet when Democratic candidates for president debate in Los Angeles later this month, there will be no black women on stage following the sudden exit of Senator Kamala Harris of California. Unless something changes quickly, there will be no candidates of colour at all.
“It’s galling for people that are on the stage to not acknowledge and speak to black women’s issues,” said Aimee Allison, the founder and president of She the People, a network dedicated to elevating the political power of women of colour.
“You don’t have to be a black woman like Kamala Harris to carry issues important to us. But you do need to acknowledge you’re not going to get anywhere without our vote.”
Post racial America, where the black woman (or man) is free to act on the dictates of conscience as a free individual.
Candace Owens agrees:
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2019/11/11/candace_owens_media_overplayed_their_hand_constantly_calling_donald_trump_a_racist.html
So, Condoleezza Rice for President?
It would be fun if Trump picked her as a running mate – if he could talk her into it. I wonder if she’d still prefer to be NFL commissioner. I’d love to see her smack down Kaepernick.
I had a chance to speak with her one on one about NFL football in Iraq. She had (has?) an impressive knowledge of the game.
That’s awesome!
Hope you’re enjoying your trip to DC. Visited any interesting places yet? Or plans to do so before Glib dinner tonight?
She seems impressively smart but she has really bad foreign policy views like most Republicans.
True, but I’d love to see the Democrats’ brains break over opposing an intelligent black woman.
Won’t make a difference. They just get branded as a race traitor and things proceed apace.
Never change, The Guardian.
#LeanIn
The college football playoffs went as I and everyone expected in the end. The takeaways from the games were that LSU is a incredible team, OSU is also a great team, Clemson still haven’t been challenged that much in its division, Georgia was not that good and should be pushed out of the playoffs. OU won their division and should be in the playoffs.
“It’s a terrible look for the Democratic party,” Allison said. “We’ve got a party that’s half people of colour and 25% black. Women of colour are six times more likely to vote Democrat than a white guy. Women of colour are more likely to vote Democrat than white women because a majority of white women voted for Trump.
“So we need a standard bearer for the Democratic party who speaks the language of solidarity, who’s able to organise a multiracial coalition, and when you have an all white stage you’re missing lived experience, expertise and policy that helps to both inspire and speak to the very people we need to turn out to win in 2020. It’s a terrifying prospect.”
Substance? Policy? Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Kamala’s lived experience of spending her high school years in the wealthiest town in Canada is going to be sorely missed. Can we soldier on…?
Heh…my performance art trumps your $120K banana that’s taped to the wall:
https://www.zerohedge.com/economics/see-you-after-jail-guys-art-world-stunned-after-man-eats-120000-banana-duct-taped-wall
Did drugs fall out of the banana’s ass?
My bad…
“On Friday, we reported on the latest bizarre milestone in the “art” world, when a banana duct-taped to a wall sold for $120,000 at that excess-liquidity conclave of ultra rich and other wannabe poseurs known Art Basel Miami Beach. Worse, a second banana duct-taped to a wall also sold for $120,000. Yet even worse than that, a third banana duct-taped to a wall is expected to sell for $150,000 and so on.”
It’s a slippery slope.
With all those banana peels?
It certainly has a peel.
I think their brains are mushy
The banana news has been spotty lately

WONDERFUL!
Agreed with whoever said last night the whole thing was probably staged.
Throwing in the towel, Harris explained to supporters that she had run out of cash. In a parting shot at rivals Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer, who are spending tens of millions of dollars on TV ads, she said: “I’m not a billionaire. I can’t fund my own campaign. And as the campaign has gone on, it’s become harder and harder to raise the money we need to compete.”
And, why, do you suppose, are people not willing to throw money at you, Kamala? Have you engaged in any sort of introspection regarding that little bit of info?
Hillary outspent Trump, and look where that got her.
All her former donors have become racist!
She got pantsed on national TV by a communist from Hawaii. The donors were worried about what Trump would do to her on a debate stage.

We must save these feckless dolts from themselves
But it’s not just passengers who are being assaulted. According to Uber’s data, 42 percent of those reporting sexual assault were drivers. “Drivers are assaulted as much as the passengers are,” Michael Bomberger, an attorney who represents the women suing Lyft, told Vox.
Passengers may be more vulnerable to certain types of assault. For example, Bomberger said he has heard from multiple riders who fell asleep in an Uber or Lyft and woke up to find a driver attacking them. And 92 percent of people who experienced sexual assault involving penetration were passengers, according to reports to Uber.
But drivers — especially the roughly 19 percent of Uber drivers and 30 percent of Lyft drivers who are women — often report being groped by passengers, Bomberger said. And since they are independent contractors for gig-economy companies, they lack some of the protections available to taxi drivers and other workers, like partitions separating them from passengers.
While advocacy groups have praised the Uber report for drawing attention to the issue of sexual violence in its cars, the report also highlights something more widespread: For workers around the country, sexual misconduct is a workplace safety issue. And though both Uber and Lyft have promised reforms, there’s evidence that for some, the platforms may not be safe places to work.
Ban work. It’s the only way to be sure.
So running better background checks on the drivers is going to prevent drivers from getting assaulted how? Are the drivers required to be martial artists or something?
How many cabbies were assaulted in the same time frame?

The local minor league team:

Any team named after a cut of steak is alright in my book.
I’m surprised KC has a minor league team. Do they play sufficiently far away from the Royals’ park to draw decent attendance? Former owner of the Reds tried to keep minor league ball out of Dayton for years, claiming it would hurt attendance in Cincy.
Best minor league name ever: The Joliet Slammers.
I see the Slammers play the Schaumburg Boomers. : )
And the New Jersey Jackals.

Uber released its first-ever United States safety report on Thursday, detailing sexual assaults, killings, and accidents on its platform. According to the report, 3,045 sexual assaults were reported during Uber rides last year, along with 9 murders and 58 people killed in crashes.
The company says the overwhelming majority of its trips are safe — 99.9 percent have no safety-related issue at all, according to the report. But it is releasing the data because “we believe that for too long, companies have not discussed these issues publicly, particularly those relating to sexual violence,” the report states.
99.9% safe? NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
One rape per a thousand rides does seem a little high and that’s the way people will read it.
Would be nice if they provided the total number of rides
So 25x safer than attending class on a college campus?

Nah, the US – according to Evo.
Still, the disturbing findings in Uber’s report are a reminder that people face real risks when they drive for rideshare companies — and being classified as gig workers, rather than full-time employees, could leave them more vulnerable.
Beat that drum. beat it.

Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos gave a dismal outlook for the nation if U.S. tech companies decide to not support the Pentagon’s war business.
“If big tech is going to turn their backs on the Department of Defense, this country is in trouble, that just can’t happen,” Bezos said at the annual Reagan National Defense Forum in Simi Valley, California.
“Look I understand these are emotional issues, that’s okay, we don’t have to agree on everything, but this is how we are going to do it, we are going to support the Department of Defense. This country is important,” he added.
——-
Loosely referencing the sequence of events in the wake of Google’s Project Maven, Bezos said that tech firms should support the U.S. military’s efforts.
“I know it’s complicated but you know, do you want a strong national defense or don’t you? I think you do. So we have to support that,” he said.
“We are the good guys, I really do believe that,” Bezos said.

It’s all starting to make sense what’s happening at Chick-fil-A.
Looks like progressives got into the blood stream. They’re beyond relentless:
https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/chick-fil-a-rodney-d-bullard-salvation-army
Question is: Will Chick-fil-A take its company back by getting rid of this guy?
He shifted donations from places like The Salvation Army and given to the SPLC and pro-abortion clinics.
“”We serve more than 23 million individuals a year, including those in the LGBTQ+ community,” The Salvation Army said. “In fact, we believe we are the largest provider of poverty relief to the LGBTQ+ population. When misinformation is perpetuated without fact, our ability to serve those in need, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or any other factor, is at risk.””
Anyone who goes after charities like The Salvation Army is dead inside.
Anyone who gives money to the SPLC should be fired, shamed and cast into the wilderness.
It looks like they’re trying to retroactively purchase indulgences but I don’t think that’s going to work.

He texted the video? That’s stupid.
And a HIPAA violation, I presume.

Arabitarian moment!
Nah, the Baathists and panArabists will benefit though.
Oh, no. Those crazy Rethuglitards think Trump should be able to call the Bidens as witnesses in an impeachment trial. What is this, the Soviet Union?
Nadler’s on Meet the Press.
“We’ll have to decide on the burden of proof.”
We all know he’s guilty. This is just a formality.
“an abundance of uncontested evidence”
Sure, Jerry.
What the fuck is he talking about?
So far nothing but wild, generalized accusation without citation. By so far I mean everything since the campaign in 2016.
Shameless fucking liars.
High crimes and misdemeanors is just a catch-all to allow Congress to impeach a President they do not like.
Go ahead, Chuckie- debate Constitutional law with Ted Cruz.
Apparently, Trump has created a false narrative about Hunter Biden.
So, how can one mitigate the risk of developing Alzheimer’s? This is what I’ve grasped after months of reading everything I can get my hands on, in no particular order after the first one:
1. Pick one’s parents wisely
2. Avoid saturated fat
3. Exercise, especially cardiovascular
4. Take B vitamins, especially B12
5. Eat LOTS of vegetables
6. Drink a glass of wine every day, but not more than 3
7. Constantly challenge one’s brain to learn new stuff, and not just easy stuff. The harder the better.
I picked both parents wrong. : (
Why saturated fat? I don’t see the connection.
There was a doctor named Dale Bredesden who had a checklist of blood tests / biomarkers.
It’s linked to blood flow restriction in the brain apparently. I can drag out the citations, but not this morning.
He’s a quack.
I was skeptical but did not, at the time, see enough to think he is a quack, but I did not investigate to deeply as I have 0 family history of it, and my 23andme did not show any gene association, for what it’s worth.
then again a quick google makes the checklist seem dubious at best, a sort of see what sticks.
Plaque
like heart disease i am skeptical of the sat fat connection
By all means Chris, knock yourself out. The UK should go full blown commie. A lot of good that public internet is going to do you when the electricity is gone.
Regarding commies, I think it pisses me off worse that after their stupid schemes are enacted and everything turns to shit they refuse to face reality. It isn’t that they are stupid enough to subscribe to that poison in the first place, not terribly surprising given the kinds of morons we are talking about, it is their refusal to admit they were wrong or accept any responsibility.
Worst. Kinds. of. People.
Socialism is probably bad for Alzheimer unless the whole really long fasting helps.
Very few people in the gulags died of Alzheimer’s.
I know eating fatty fish / supplementing with quality DHA had some associations, and anyway omega3 in good in general.
I think the same applies to time-restricted eating.
Insulin resistance is associated with this and many more diseases, so low fasting insulin levels in blood (I remember under 4.5) are good.
Anyway eat salmon roe … paired with champagne
Wasn’t there some work that showed a relationship between gum disease and Alzheimer’s?
there was but it is not really clear. Also so called leaky gut and general gut bacteria, but also fairly limited imo
Those steps might help, but unfortunately the only known way to absolutely avoid it is to die young. Of course there are known downsides to that prevention method as well.
AD is such a horrible thing and one that is becoming more common because the average age of mortality keeps rising.* Only 1 of 4 of my grandparents suffered from it so I am hoping that it might skip me- for my kids sake.
*Greta, AOC and their ilk are hard at work to reverse this trend.
I have no idea if my family is prone to Alzheimers because pancreatic cancer.
Damn, that’s a tough one. I just lost a good friend a few weeks back to that. He got diagnosed with it and six weeks later he was dead.
I know this may wrankle some, but there is a strong correlation between diabetes and Alzheimer’s. The brain winds up with thee same amyloid plaques that are seen in the kidneys. Every case that I’ve been made aware of personally the person had a long history of a “sweet tooth.” Some day I suspect that we will finally come to understand that fructose is a poison to humans in anything beyond the smallest amounts buried in the fiber of fruit.
Here’s the link I tried to embed but it didn’t work.
https://www.alzheimers.net/diabetes-of-the-brain/
i think you get more fructose in the states but i did see locally no sugar chocolate that actually was sweetened with fructose. bleah
A spoonful of raw wildflower honey every morning is a bonus. Parent(s)ing makes the difference. I skip the wine, 1 glass is not enough, 3 glasses is not enough. The rest of SP’s advice is spot on.
Thanks for the link Ozy. And sorry for your situation OMWC. I think that certainly could be a possibility. I stopped eating sugar save for the occasional indulgence of chocolate or a coke a few times a year. I have it in my family as my grandma had it. Terrible disease that I hope they get figured out.
1. Well, I fucked up.
2. Pizza?
3. I work the remote. My finger muscles are toned!
4. You keep slipping them in my vodka.
5. Whew!
6. Whew, again!
7. I’m fucked.
We need a full public service internet – state-owned infrastructure is just the start

+1 Minitel
Sorry to bang on it, but it’s been done.
Hell, it’s been done in the US. “Public broadband” was the toast of several towns a few years ago. I wonder why nobody talks about those systems that were implemented.
Because most collapsed?
We needI want a full public service internet – state-owned infrastructure is just the startI want to control your speech – full public service internet is just the start
Meet the Press dredged that loathsome cunt Stephanie Cutter out of whatever sewer she lives in. We need to hear what that former Obama flunky thinks before we can form an opinion.
So…what did she say?
*I think I can guess
Denny Heck is weary in his soul. Poor man. Donald Trump has destroyed civility. He has ended civilized behavior.
How long have you been suckling on the public teat, Denny?
“courageous public servants, speaking truth to power”
Stick it up your ass, Denny.
When their complaints are that Trump did things outside of and against the “consensus of the inter-agency process” the complaints are fully revealed as a deep state counterattack against the plebes that rejected the deep state candidate.
When the constitutional scholars that testify at the HJC wrote public articles favoring impeachment even before DT’s inauguration- and that one of them was reportedly on Hillary’s short list for the Supreme Court vacancy- it shows that the HJC is just about panem et circenses for their base.
When Dems are openly saying in the media that “they must impeach Trump because we can’t beat him in 2020” then they make the ultimate DC gaffe. They spoke the truth on camera.
I don’t like many things about DT’s policies. The sole saving grace is that sometimes he enacts a policy I approve of; whereas Hillary would have doubled down on Obama’s freedom destroying policies. This impeachment theater does raise some concerns with me:
DT will likely not be removed by the Senate and will win in 2020. Some Dems are already saying that they’ll just impeach him again. Will this state of affairs lead to a complete lockup of the Legislative branch (a near universal positive) and the subsequent “payback” impeachment of the Dems president after the 2024 race rendering a check on the office as a permanent political tool?
If DT is removed from office will it lead in a few years time to a modern form of a Julius Caesar who will ride “deplorables” discontent to office amid cries of dismantling the Republics forms? This would create a condition with both the right and left calling for the end of the Republic. Whatever rises from that crises will not favor liberty.
“[C]omplete lockup” sounds like a feature, not a bug.

“We can dismantle the corruption”
Wait a minute now. Isn’t the president supposed to ignore possible corruption in foreign nations, while doling out no strings attached aid?
You miss the point Creech. The corruption of Dem presidential aspirants must be ignored and the full power of the government must be deployed against any other candidate. There is nothing to the HRC email server crimes/Clinton Foundation shakedowns/Benghazi for 2016 and the Biden Family multiple country corruption (not just Ukraine) for 2020. Those foul people who remain on their feet when dealing with the government deserve the IRS chicanery, lying to a FISA court multiple times, convictions for process crimes, or having their phone metadata revealed by the HIC.
That woman no shit honestly scares me.
Can’t fool me, that was written by a buzzword algorithm.
You have no reason to fear your chains comrade. They are placed on you to support your freedom.
She’s running for world leader now? Aren’t we ambitious.
Good morning Glibs a short PSA for those of you who let your children play video games.
a little over the top
That’s not a PSA. That’s a pissa.
I did not know that Blue Jays were social. A flock of five of them just chased the squirrels away from the feeder.
Canadians are generally more social than Americans
Take off, eh?
Poor Katie Hill
Two days after her resignation, Hill said that her emotions about what happened came to an apex. After finishing a bottle of wine in a cold bathtub, she revealed she almost attempted suicide.
“The bath water had gone cold. The wine bottle was empty. Suddenly and with total clarity, I just wanted it all to be over.”
However, the former member of Congress was resilient, recounting her speech in front of the House announcing her resignation, saying she “wasn’t done.”
“I don’t know exactly what’s ahead for me, and I know there’s a lot more pain ahead. But I’m in the fight, and I’m glad it’s not all over after all,” she wrote.
You poor little lamb. Why shouldn’t you be able to do as you please without consequences, even as you attempt to control the lives of everybody else? Talk about injustice.
*I’d still let her park her bare bottom on my couch.
I thought that was gonna be the Bee.
Instead, I think she’s probably just mentally ill.
Suicidal over resigning from Congress after a what? A year in office? Over fucking one of her employees? And posting wife-swapping photos?
Obviously a stable genius. Such a loss for America.
And they say Trump is the unstable one.
I did not know that Blue Jays were social. A flock of five of them just chased the squirrels away from the feeder.
Blue jays are assholes. Entertaining assholes, though.

Girl, 5, carries toddler half a mile in -35C with no shoes on after Alaska blackout
The five-year-old and 18-month-year-old arrived at a neighbour’s home suffering from injuries relating to the cold weather.

Alaska! California of the North!
Reminds me of an episode of Alaska State Troopers where one of them comes across an Eskimo lady walking barefoot also. When asked why she’s doing it, says “I’m a survivor”.
What a brave little girl. Did what she had to.
Oof.
The best defense against alzheimer’s
Re the internet/port story. The rate of sexual assaults (along with all violent crime) has been steadily dropping since the early 90’s. We are now at the same rate as when Leave it to Beaver was prime time tv. I’m not saying that the availability of internet porn is strongly correlated with the drop in sex crimes, but that would be a far stronger case than the opposite.
MeToo didn’t die for this shit. Make sex crimes great again!
Yeah, more Puritan BS.
Yup, the lefties have at least as big a Puritanism as the socon right. They’re just a bit better at disguising it.
They are?
No; it’s that they have the news media running interference for them.
Go Windies! That Pooran kid is really something.
One way to wake up on a Sunday morning: Husband took care of the people part of selling your beloved car. Yes. Yes, my Granny car sold. Had a crap-ton of interest. But she is gone now and I will go cry.
Congrats on the sale. That was fast.
I had maybe 50 people wanting it immediately. There were people messaging me just because they liked my ad. Two people said if they had any cash, they’d buy it on the spot because of the ad.
ANYWAY, old guy bought it for his wife who loved my ad and promised to keep calling her Granny.
Heh, heh. It’s funny the emotional attachment you can get to a vehicle. I can clearly remember being bummed selling most of my cars and trucks over the years. What kind of car did you have?
Here is my ad: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/601305033947764
Há! Ohh, it’s got a cassette player!
(Couldn’t read the description, I assume it was awesome)
Crap. It was a good ad too. Yes, I listed the cassette player in the description “state of the art cassette player!”
I was going to paste it here, but it’s too much. I might do a blog post on my blog about my ads.
You should! I’d read. I could see the pics and the state of the art features checked, but not any words. Did you have to throw in a few cassettes to sweeten the deal?
Here you go:

Oh, to answer your question: 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera.
Yes, my Granny car sold. Had a crap-ton of interest. But she is gone now and I will go cry.
You mean the one with bad transmission?
It fixed itself. It has been working perfectly since our first cold snap. I do not know why.
It fixed itself.
Did you put that in the ad?
“JESUS HEALED THIS CAR!”
He built it, too.
HEAL!
