  • Things to Come – Week of May 6th

“You see what I did to this animal that displeased me..don’t you let me down, or I will be wearing your hide, next.”

A bit late today…I got caught up in a dispute down on the Ricola wrapping line. Man, those things hurt when they get fired out of a crossbow. Anyways, order has been restored, and I am free to give you a sneak peek at the week to come.

Monday – Beer it Forward returns. Tulip pickles things. Hmmm… a very consumable oriented day it seems. (Animal will likely return the next Monday, continuing the Bolt Guns series).

Tuesday – Suthen talks trees. MLW talks Woke Charmed.

Wednesday – SugarFree continues to molest our minds. Not Adhan has a thought on STEVE SMITH.

Thursday – ron73440 gives us dark humor. Sensei continues his Japanese lessons via Anime titles.

Friday – wdalasio ponders culture. Cryptid of the Week visits.

Weekend – The usual suspects will be rounded up – OMWC, mexican sharpshooter, Not Adahn, and others.

Daily links will continue from me, Banjos and OMWC.

We have had a good response to our plea for materials, as you can see. However, there is always room for your contributions! As in, next week and after that…  Thank you for your continued support of our humble site.

    The comments are all yours.

  • Monday Morning Links

    Grüezi Mitenand!

    Mü!

Since it is Monday morning, the banterings will be kept to a minimum. Get some kaffe and begin your readings.

    • Um…looks like the old, 20th Century defense-against-Germany-system was not turned off. Whoopsï.
    • Ah…the NYC Stasi. “Leading the list is lawyer David Dong”… Heh.
    • Next up on Airstrip One’s violence control programme… banning hammers. Use the banhammer of hammers?
    • Next time Meeechelle’s old chief of staff comes calling, asking for a favor…decline.
    • I fully expect the same level of outrage at Turkey, as at Saudi Arabia…right? Oh, and celebrity Tweets and pronouncements, cannot forget those!

That is all. Music links will have to be self provided.

  • Things to Come – Week of April 29th

Back to our semi-regular feature, Things to Come. We have managed to pry more really good material out of all of our contributors the past two weeks, and SP has cracked the whip and restored….discipline here at Glibs HQ. I thank all of you who have, and who are contributing to our site. Please don’t tell yourself that nobody would be interested, or we won’t be bothered with running it, or any such thoughts about your contributions here. I have learned a fair bit, and enjoyed seeing what all of you have done or seen.

So, The Shape of Things to Come!

Monday – Animal returns with Part 1 of a new series. Bolt guns, baby! And Tulip pops in later, and delivers us a travel article.

Tuesday – Pie shows us around town. His town. The best town.

Wednesday – I…I am not sure I can take another Hat and Hair like last week’s… *shivers uncontrollably* But, I am sure SugarFree will craft…something that will tear our souls apart. And entertain. Always that.

Thursday – Two part 2’s! Subwoofer at Burning Man, and Evan in Sri Lanka.

Friday – Fourscore tells how a union made his life better (no, really! Just read it and you will see what he means)…followed by an evening visit from the Cryptid of the Week.

Weekend – Expect a visit from our usual strong line up of OMWC, Not Adhan, Mexican Sharpshooter and a special appearance.

Your weekday Links will continue to be provided by Banjos, OMWC, Brett and yours truly.

Over to you, the commentariat – remember, no OT in this post!

“I tell you, the day comment section IS yours!”
  • Monday Morning New World Order Links

Celebrate the new order of things here at Glibs.

Monday Mornings, we are trying to give Banjos a bit of a break. Thus you will be seeing Links of Me. Links of Mine. My Links. Whichever. OMWC will be taking Fridays, so steel yourself for that.

So, befitting my oft times minimalist style – here are your Links for Monday, April 22, Anno Domini two thousand and nineteen.

    • Um….wut? That almost compares to “Franco and Mussolini form joint peacekeeping force”.
    • Um…who? We’ve gone from clown car to the short bus. Lets see if they can get to 25…30 declared candidates.
    • BACK THE BLUE! CPD has another shining moment of glory. “Alcohol may have also been a factor.” NO WAY!!!?
    • Stay classy, MSNBC. Maybe wait until he is at brunch, then shove your way over to his table.
    • I shan’t have tears enough to shed for these poor, unfortunate souls. Oh, wait…I meant I am laughing quite hard. Now, go out and campaign for moar socialisms.

Music links are crowdsourced to the commentariat.

  • Sunday Night Things To Come

    Needz Better Time Suit

I have preview duty tonight….and it is quite easy. Why? We don’t have a lot of material in the pipeline. *hint, hint* I’d sure like to have more stuff to edit…

However, we do have a couple of things lined up:

Monday, Animal writes of…animals. He really has been a stalwart these past few months. *sets out large tub of berry jam for our author-bear to scarf down*

Tuesday, MLW continues to slog through the new, woke Charmed for us. Trust me, this next one is a doozy. She really is doing rough duty watching that dreck, and distilling it down for us.

Wednesday, We expect SugarFree will torment haunt twist regale us with more adventures of The Hat and The Hair (and tha’ Hat). I have managed to get over my disappointment at the intrepid pair not finding Gerry Ford’s Gold.

Thursday, EMPTY. If nobody steps up, you will probably get stuck with me updating Catalonia and Afghanistan events. An nobody wants to settle for that.

Friday, EMPTY. I shan’t be stepping up to do anything on Good Friday….so consider this an additional plea for your submissions.

Weekend – We have been VERY lucky to have Not Adahn, OMWC and Mexican Sharpshooter carrying the load. Occasional contributions from our cryptid … friends too.

I leave the comments for you to bounce ideas around and OT the living daylights out of this.

  • Friday Morning Ennui/Meh Links

I feel your angst, Ennui Kitteh

A so-so lift in the gym, a few aches, but nothing dramatic. The coffee station is a wreck and nobody in the office bothers to reload the supplies. Feh. I’d get worked up or angry, but I cannot be bothered this morning. Lucky for the commentariat, I can still go through the motions and bring you Links…

    • Why can’t we be more like Europe? I guess Seattle, Portland and San Francisco are on the way. Not that it matters.
    • Free healthcare providing Cubans kidnapped by libertarians! See if you can spot the weirdly specific detail in the story. Or not, I don’t care one way or the other.
    • Illinois politician spews lies…er, gives interview. I guess I should care that my taxes are going to go up, but I have resigned myself to it a while back, because, Illinois.
    • Anyone remember that old 1980s song “I Love LA“? I wonder if this would change some minds? Ah, who cares.

    Bah.

  • Monday Morning Links

    uhhhhngg….

How many thousands of our poorest commenters
Are at this hour asleep! O sleep, O gentle sleep,
Nature’s soft nurse, how have I frightened thee,
That thou no more will weigh my eyelids down,
And steep my senses in forgetfulness?
Why rather, sleep, liest thou in smoky cribs,
    Upon uneasy pallets stretching thee,
And hush’d with buzzing night-flies to thy slumber,
Than in the perfum’d chambers of TPTB,
Under the canopies of costly state,
And lull’d with sound of sweetest melody?
O thou dull god, why liest thou with the vile
In loathsome beds, and leav’st the kingly couch
    A watch-case or a common ‘larum-bell?
Wilt thou upon the high and giddy mast
Seal up the ship-boy’s eyes, and rock his brains
In cradle of the rude imperious surge,
And in the visitation of the winds,
Who take the ruffian billows by the top,
Curling their monstrous heads, and hanging them
With deafing clamour in the slippery clouds,
That with the hurly death itself awakes?
Canst thou, O partial sleep, give thy repose
    To the wet sea-boy in an hour so rude;
And in the calmest and most stillest night,
With all appliances and means to boot,
Deny it to a Glib? Then, happy low, lie down!
Uneasy lies the head that wears a Link.

  • Friday Morning Links of Feh

    I could be motivated…

Not really feeling it this morning. But, being uninspired should not be a reason to delay, or produce poor links. So, you get what I could muster up, from the absurdity of the world around us.

    • First, we ride my Catalan hobby horse. Go listen to a short bit of the sob story of the poor cops that raided Joan Sanchez’s house. Note this nice Orwellian phrase…”who is charged with misuse of public funds and disobedience“.
      Are we there yet?

    • Who knew commenter Winston was a Lord? Looks like one more rule/law/regulation coming up for ol’ Britannia.
    • I am quite sure that this won’t end up in a bunch of memes. Nosiree.
    • Oh, how could anyone be anything but absolutely sure this will work! Didn’t the whole Yellow Vest thing get set off by a Save Gaia With This One More Tax last straw?

      Merde!

    Music link of Feh mood.

  • Preview of Things To Come

Is that guy narrowing his gaze?

Time we had one of these again. You know, the preview of some of our articles upcoming…and the plea for more material. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE send in some material. This place is so much richer when we get the Glibertariat sharing their experiences, expertise, weirdness…whatever.

OK, pleading over – now, what is coming up in our 1100 Central time slot?

Tuesday we get a Minimalist article from Trials and Trippelations. See how I made the description minimal. *waggles eyebrows*

Wednesday … if SugarFree finishes the maintenance on his Dungeon, we should brace ourselves for The Hat and The Hair. I am still on the edge of my seat, wondering if they will find Gerry Ford’s gold!

Thursday sees us getting a lesson in slang from the old Graybar Hotel. You know, the Joint. The Pen. Whatever you call it, some Prison Slang brought to you by Elspeth Flashman.

Friday… steel yourself for the wonders of Tonio’s Part 4 of A Chronicle of the Insurgency.

The Weekend should see our usual fun and games. Not Adhan, mexican sharpshooter, and OMWC carrying the load as usual.

Monday we are hoping for Part 5 of Animal’s series on Lever Guns. Talk about authorship by public demand.

As for our 1900 Central time slot… well, not really in a position to tell too much right now. However, Friday will see a beloved figure return. And the cryptids (who I am still not on speaking terms with, yet) will probably weigh in on the early evening time slots this weekend. Imma going to be at an Expo elsewhere in the Midwest, come Sunday – so you will be in the hands of the more competent Glibs TPTB next week.

  • Afternoon Links of No Distinction

    Glibs sponsored debate?

We aren’t sure, but it seems either a meth addled giant python or the county sheriff has Brett. So, you get me doing some rather hasty links. I am going to leave the music links to all of you.

    • I ran out out of syrup of ipecac, so I used this instead, to induce vomiting.
    • I seldom use profanity in place of better descriptors…but the only thing that I can think of reading this is “shitshow”.
    • Wanna see the wages of communism? Human trafficking, for reals.

I hope all of your NCAA brackets are surviving.
